Was approached by hdfc relationship manager for sl crest policy in 2014 when i opened savings account with them. He ask me to opt for this policy as it will help me in income tax stating that i can surrender the policy anytime of i do not like it.
I took this policy at 50k rs per annum in march 2014.
In february 2016 i wanted to surrender the policy and approach my relationship manager. He ask me to call his coallegue for from hdfc life and surprisingly i was told that i cannot surrender the policy before 3 year as i have to pay minimum 3 premiums under this policy. As it was matter of only a month i decided to pay the premium in 2016. As this policy was not paying good returns i wanted to surrender it and hence call my relationship manager. He again hooked up me with one of his coallegues who advised me to pay couple of more premiums (Total 5) and i will get good returns. Hence, i continue paying premium until 2018 and after 5 premiums were paid i call my relationship manager again through whom this policy was taken in kolkata for surrendering this policy. He gave me contact number of his coallegues again who told me that she is going to the concern office so the policy can be liquidated. Next day she ask me to visit nearest hdfc life office in mumbai/thane (As i reside in thane now) and submit the form for liquidating the policy. To my surprise again i was informed that there is a lock on period of 5 years and i cannot liquidate this policy before march 2019. I dropped a mail to selfcare (Hdfc) and i got a reply from kolkata branch that they are looking in the matter. I got couple of calls from the kolkata branch as well and since i did not pick then up as i was traveling abroad, i got a mail from the said representative that he wants to speak to me. I dropped him a mail that i will call him once i am back in india and gave him a call when i landed in mumbai. He told me that he is looking into the matter and wants to meet me (Probably wanted to sell me some product). I told him that i have left kolkata and hence we can correspond on phone / mail. After thay there was no call from his side, hence after couple of days passed by i started chasing him on phone. First my phone's went unanswered but finally he answered my phone and advised that this policy cannot be encashed before march 2019. I told him that i am ready to pay 1% or 2% penalty (Whatever it is) for early termination but need he money for some other matters. He advised that same is possible and copied mail to one of his colleague in hdfc life and ask him to get back to me. After couple of days i got reply from his coallegue that this policy cannot be encashed in any circumstances before 2019.
I have been calling my relationship manager in kolkata who is not answering my calls now for last one month after this episode. It looks hdfc bank pressurizes their employees to sell unsuspecting customers insurance policies by hook pr by crook and most of the times we buy products from this same relationships managers (As they come crying that they need to achieve their targets) in good faith who often mislead us without disclosing full details of the policies.
This is not the first product which hdfc bank have sold me with their unethical tactics.
On one hand we have a policy which is not paying returns and which i cannot encash (In short i cannot use my own money) and on other hand we have credit card interest rate which are quite high (Which means banks are extracting money from us giving false information and if we are not able to pay credit card dues on time we are charged at a very high interest rate. Indirectly for using our own money which is invested in banks).

I am planning to go legally against hdfc and suggestions are welcome. Can i go in consumer court??

I am also paying 13k per annum against hdfc ergo family plan for past 3 years (Last year i paid 18k) and i think it is better to transfer policy to some company like lic as i have lost my faith in hdfc bank.
It is better to bank with sbi.

I also have foreign inward remittance coming in under the company which i own and i have observed that hdfc bank does not deposit money in my companies bank account when they ecpect usd to fall against inr. They will hold the money for couple of days and convert it into inr and deposit it in my bank account when usd goes week against inr. (For example, my inward remittance didn't get deposited yesterday when usd had breached 68 rs. And when i went to bank today to enquire i was told that there was a system error yesterday hence funds could not get deposited in my company's account. (Also the exchange rate which was given was poor almost ibr minus 1 rupee).

Also i receive unsolicited phone calls from hdfc bank / hdfc life for marketing their products which is quite annoying.

Crooks... Don't buy policies from hdfc...

This complaint has not yet resolved as claimed by HDFC life. I have paid a total premium of Rs. 50, 000 x 5 installments. = Rs. 250, 000. As I was mislead ed when the policy was sold to me upon complaining in this forum, the company send me an email from [email protected] advising me that as a special case they allow me to surrender the policy before the due date (i.e. 5 year lock in period which was expiring in March 2019). I am stationed abroad, and i visited the HDFC Life Branch in Kapurbawdi, Thane on 12th September 2018 with necessary documents and copy of email which I have received from HDFC life and as it was only matter of 6 months for maturity I asked them what value will I get of I surrender the policy on the same day and expected value if I wait until March 2019. I was advised that the fund value as on 12th September 2018 would be INR 267, 000 and I will get same if I surrender the policy on that day. Also, this policy has no growth and there won't be any significant growth if I chose to wait until March 2019. Hence, I decided to surrender the policy the same day and was advised that the funds would be transferred to my HDFC Bank savings bank account within a week. On 17th September, I received a transfer of INR 200, 000.07 from HDFC Life instead of INR 267, 000 which I should have got. As, I am abroad I cannot call on their toll free number and upon regular follow up on email I was advised by HDFC Life that they have transferred INR 50, 000 on 17th September 2018. However, so far I have only received INR 200, 000.07 from HDFC life. I have already provided them with my HDFC bank statement 3 times for the period of 30th August 2018 to 08th October 2018 and the only inward remittance from HDFC life is for the amount INR 200, 000.07. Both HDFC Life and my personal banker from HDFC Bank knows this very well from 18th September 2018, however this are delay tactics from HDFC. This dispute is not yet close as I have not yet been paid in full and if HDFC Life delays it further I have right to make damages claims as my time is being wasted and I have lost my peace of mind due to this process.

As, I am overseas I visited HDFC, Kapurbawdi - Thane (MS) branch on 12th September 2018 with necessary documents. In view the policy was going to mature in March 2019, I ask them how much I would receive if I continue to keep the policy until March 2019 and what amount I will receive if I terminate the policy on the same day (i.e. 12th Sep).

I was advise by the lady on the counter that if I terminate the policy immediately, I will get my fund value on the date of surrendering the policy which was Rs. 268, 000 and if I decide to wait until March 2019, there won't be much growth in the amount as compared to the present fund value.
Hence I went ahead and surrender the policy on 12th September 2018 and submitted the necessary documents.

On 18th September 2018, I received a credit of Rs. 200, 000.07 from HDFC life. Since, I am overseas I am not in position to call on the toll free number which HDFC life has provided and there is not alternate number provided by HDFC life where I can make inquiries.

Hence I dropped a mail to HDFC life asking them, how come they have refunded only Rs. 200, 000.07 when my fund value on the date of surrendering the policy was Rs. 268, 000 and I had paid total Rs. 250, 000 (Rs. 50, 000 x 5 premiums).

As, I did not received any reply, I called my personal banker back in India and requested him to liaise with HDFC life. He was advised that HDFC life have remitted Rs. 50, 000 to my bank account on 16th September 2018 and Rs. 200, 000 on 17th September 2018. As, he had my customer ID, he cross checked same against my HDFC bank savings account and advised them that only Rs. 200, 000 have been credited to my saving accounts. There is no trace of Rs. 50, 000 which HDFC life claims to have transferred on 16th September. We are still waiting for HDFC life reply.

HDFC life is crook, I have paid total Rs. 250, 000 over 5 years (i.e. from March 2014 to March 2018, annual premium of Rs. 50, 000 each). They have used my money for 5 years and now don't want to refund back the fund value of Rs. 268, 000 which was there on 12th September 2018.

In fact, they have not even refunded the amount which I have paid until now.

First they have sold the policy by misrepresentation and now they don't want to pay me my fund value.

Please advise whether I can put a legal case against HDFC not only to recover my entire dues but also I want to put damage claims on HDFC.

I will like to advise all people to beware while banking and buying any products from HDFC as ultimately it is customer loss. There is no point in making this bankers richer. It is better to bank with government banks like SBI where charge are less compared to banks like HDFC.
Also, it is better in investing in products of LIC.

We receive numerous calls from HDFC bank employees (same when we visit their branch) who promise us various things while selling HDFC various products, but when there is a dispute, the same bank employees advise that so and so is a different entity.

GUYS BE CAREFUL OF HDFC BANK FRAUDULENT PRACTICES..

Have received following mail on 02nd May 2018. However, will like to reiterate that I was not advised regarding the lock in period when the policy was sold to me any my personal banker that time had assured me that policy can be surrendered anytime whenever I want it and I can contact him if there are any problems.
It is a mis-sale, either your executives have no information about the product they are selling or they are under pressure to sell INSURANCE POLICIES by hook or crook.

Also, I have visited the HDFC Life Branch in Kapurbawdi, Thane in April 2018 with necessary documents and was advised that I can't surrender / encash the policy before March 2019.

* As we have not received your cancellation request within the free look period, we wish to inform you that we are unable to process a refund of premiums paid against your policy. We have concluded that all the features and details of this plan were explained to you at the time of purchasing the policy.

Please note that HDFC Life does not encourage alleged discrepancies or issue any insurance contract based on incorrect information. As part of our internal policy, we always send the policy bond with all the supporting documents to the policyholder to reiterate the terms of the policy.

If you wish to surrender the policy, the Life Assured will not be covered for the risk benefits with immediate effect.

The amount payable on surrender will be the Unit Fund Value on surrender less the Discontinuance Charge.

If the surrender is in the first five years of the policy, the amount will be moved to a ‘Discontinued Policy Fund’ which will earn a minimum guaranteed interest rate as specified by the IRDA. A Fund Management Charge of 0.50% p.a., charged daily, will be levied on the ‘Discontinued Policy Fund’.

The amount allocated to the Discontinued Policy Fund, with accrued interest, will be paid out to the policyholder, or nominee if applicable, on completion of the Lock-in Period.

In case of the death of the Life Assured before the payment of the surrender benefit, the amount in the ‘Discontinued Policy Fund’ will be paid out immediately.

Once any surrender payment has been made, the Policy terminates and no further benefits are payable.

Kindly note on request of surrender after the completion of 5 years, the Unit Fund value will be payable immediately on receipt all relevant of documents. The policy will terminate immediately after this payment.

If you wish to surrender your policy, please visit any HDFC Life branch (http://www.hdfclife.com/contact-us/branch-locator) personally as we will be unable to accept surrender requests through third party submissions-

* Original policy document/ Policy Document Waiver form (attached)

* Self-attested copy of identity and residence proofs with the originals for verification

* Payout Evaluation form (attached)

* Surrender Processing form (attached)

      I had applied for a sip of ₹2000. However due to insufficient balance the amount could not be cut. Hdfc on the other hand did not even inform that there are penalties for such incomplete payments. At first i thought it would be a fee that is applied to every user for some services when it was first cut! But later on i figured they are these charges that are applied on incomplete automated electronic payments. They did not bother to inform me about such things prior! ₹413 were cut in the month on may 2018 and ₹590 are cut for the month of june 2018. This is highly disappointing!!

        I am holding mastercard of HDFC Bank. They have not sent me statement of May month through any medium or they have not sent me any reminder till its due date which is 5th date of the month. How can I pay the money without knowing the details of the statement. After due date they are reminding me on 14th June instead of before 5th June that I have not paid the money and I have to pay the penalty for it. After their remainder and statement I have immediately paid the money and still they have charged the penalty which is actually invalid and fraud and I am not ready to pay this penalty in any situations. They have charged more than Rs. 800 which is too much. By this way they are trying to fooling the customers. My phone no. is [protected].

        We observe that the statement for the month of May 2018 was sent to your registered e-mail id on 17/05/2018. We wish to inform you that in the event of non-receipt of payment, delayed payment or payment less than the total minimum amount due the applicable late payment charges/finance charges would be levied to the card account. You will appreciate that the bank charges levied is legitimate and in accordance with the Schedule of Charges shared along with the Most Important Terms & Conditions as well as on the reverse of the credit card statement. However, owing to your relationship with the bank we have arranged to reverse the late payment fee and finance charge of Rs 700.53 levied in your statement for June 2018 We wish to inform that the corresponding GST remains payable. On successful reversal, the reversed transaction shall reflect in the next billing statement.

          My personal hdfc savings account has been in dormant blocked state from last 4 years.
          I recently did my re-kyc for the second time and also visited hdfc bank personally more than twice. I received sms saying my account status has been successfully changed from blocked to active. But when i do online transaction, following is the message received with transaction failure: "there is a low severity memo present on the credit account., there is a memo present on the debit account."
          Will hdfc ever plan to do it's job and stop harassing customers?

          Following the discussions with Branch Manager, the promise to clear the issue is yet not fulfilled. Over that the Bank has charged illegal amount of 68, 000/- showing discrepancy in my account balance and account statement.
          Please check the attached pictures.
          This kind of harassment needs to be seriously dealt with calling the involved bodies into consumer court and give proper justification. Also I wish to file a legal case against the HDFC Indiranagar Double Road, Bengaluru branch Manager for prolonged denial of duties and Immense harassment to customer.

            Cancellation of one assist membership

            I am a hdfc bank credit card holder. The bank has auto debited from my credit card number ending with 3855 without my concern. I am not interested about this service and don't want this membership any more. So cancel the membership and refund debited amount.

                I am a victim of fraud call. On jun 16th 2018 i got a call from this number +[protected] and saying we are from hdfc rewards points payback department. Then started telling my first four digits of my credit card details for confirmation and then said you have 9k reward to get this credited to your account need some information from my end and i said transfer that money to my credit card. But they refused and said your card is not registered in payback portal hence give me any other back card details then will transfer.
                I suspected they are fake and asked them, that person goroav sharma gave his employer id and office location address details and then i gave my citi back credited card. He said for the security reasons we will send some otp that will just hold your money and open your application process credit the money to your account. Somehow me made me to agree and took 20k post that said your card is allowing only 5k to credit hence give another card so that from my end process will get close money will credit to you then i gave my standard charted credit card he took again 20k..in total..in the middle he took 5k extra from my savings account too. Of course it's my bad to tell otp.. But what should i do.. I was thinking only on the money which i lost. Unfortunately i didn't get anything. I went to police station to rise fir but they did not accept this complient since it a online credit card swipe

                I have just received the same call mentioning me that they are from Maharashtra, HDFC Payback department. at first one lady called me without telling her name and I asked her name again and again, then she transferred the call to one lady naming herself as Harshitha and I asked the first lady's name but harshita told me after 15 secs that first lady name was nikita. I got doubt with this itself that they are fake.

                further, harshita did not allow me to speak and always when I was speaking she was telling me "1 minute, 1 minute". I believe she understood by my questioning her itself that I know that they are fake and hence she told me she called me that she wanted to have some verification with me. I asked her who is she to verify against me and then she felt I beleive that I will not yield her. Hence, she started uttering out unparliamentary words and awkward words, when she got befitting reply from me, she dropped the call...

                Later I searched on the blog, I got confirmed that this HDFC Payback Department is a fake one. Some legal action has to be taken against them.

                I am eager to provide the phone number of the caller if anybody wants to destroy them.

                I THINK, PEOPLE SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY CREDIT CARD / DEBIT CARDS AND INTERNET BANKING AND WE HAVE TO GO AGAIN TO PAPER TRANSACTIONS IF THINGS ARE GOING WORSE LIKE THIS. SEVERAL TIMES THESE CULPRITS BROKE THE ACCOUNTS AND STOLEN THE MONEY FROM BANK ACCOUNTS ALSO.

                WE HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO PROTECT OURSELVES WITH THIS ERA OF CHEATING AND BANKS ALSO NEED TO MAKE IT SURE THAT CUSTOMERS MONEY ARE SAFE AND IF LOST LIKE THIS NECESSARY ACTIONS ARE TAKEN AGAINST THEM BY POLICE, BANKS, AS WELL AS OTHER AUTHORITIES.

                FOR THE TIME BEING, PEOPLE BE CAREFUL WHILE DELAING WITH CR CARDS, DR CARS, INTERNET BANKING, PHONE BANKING ETC. THEY ARE NOT SAFE NOW-A-DAYS. SAFE IS PAPER INSTRUMENTS ONLY.

                      Its been a very shameful act by employee najeefa from credit card department (Chennai) calling me a liar when i tried to find out the charges applied to my minimum due amount and how safe is my aadhaar card details. She shouted and threatened along with her manager (Vinod kumar s) to pay the due amount with any cost. Manager says you need to beg from your parents and friends otherwise he will make sure to screw my civil score.

                      Very sad already hdfc has bad name in banking circles and with hdfc threatening their customers its a shameful act by hdfc.

                      I know you will not take any action on the employees as you people dont care about customer.

                      For past 4 years I have been paying my dues related to hdfc credit card correctly but from past five months there are some issues with the credit card statement and the charges applied to when I raised question about this and gave unsat.This month june 2018 min amount needs to be paid but due to unavoidable circumstances I was unable to pay it.HDFC called in told them that my previous complaint was not dealt with and privacy related to my aadhaar card seems to be in doubt.When I asked this question she showed her true color and her manager mentioned we have to take maximum benefit from the customer.Please listen to the call you will understand they put the call on speaker in hdfc and were making fun of me giving me a character certificate.There names are Najeefa and vinod Kumar(Manager)

                      Hope you can understand my situation but need to know for what I am paying thats basic customer right.How hdfc can say just pay it and read the statement and making fun of me that I don't know anything about credit card

                        On 16th june 2018 i have recieved a call from hdfc life contact number was [protected] and i have purchased the policy hdfc life easy health policy and i have done payment of inr 6212 online.

                        After the call was completed i was asked to send the aadhaar card on a whats app number [protected] so i have done the same and paid inr 6212 online.

                        Now i have not received any confirmation on the policy yet and i am afraid that was it the fake or fraudulent call or genuine call.

                        I request you to please update me on the same please find the attached payment link and payment confirmation message which i have reviewed on my email id.

                          I had an hdfc salary account, after 2 years i saw it is showing -7600 rs something. Since after they dont see 3 months salary in hdfc accounts then only it gets converted to saving account.. Also i dont have any idea when i was not even using this accpunt hot did went in so much negetavive balance??.. I want to close this account and pleae request you to waive off all the amount.. How can a normal catagory person pay such much?? Genuine request to comtact me asap and close this account..

                            The actual emi i used to pay was on 4thjun-2018 and i have placed the amount in my icici bank account at late hours of that day. But same was not not deducted. After that a message has been received that loan was resubmitted on 12th jun-2018. So same was again placed in the account and that day was also not deducted. After a message was received that you can pay the loan amount through the site. I have payed the money on 13th jun-2018. Then called from the hdfc and provide your reference number. However, again a message was received saying that thanks for paying the emi but you are fined with 649rs. Now i did not made a mistake to pay the money and the required amount was placed as per commitment but fine was result. Now i want to make a complaint in human rights if same was fined and may got delay in the further emi if the issue was not resolved. Thanks

                              Oneassist - big cheaters.

                              I got debited amount of rs 1899 from credit card without my permission by oneassist. They auto-renew my plan with the single email they had mailed me.

                              When ask for the plan cancellation and refund my money before 7 days of auto-renewal, the telephonic call representative told me that, they can't refund my money as the plan get renewed. The only thing he can do was change my plan with rs 900. I immediately refused and ask for plan cancellation, and told to them that i don't want my money back. They get satisfied this time with my money without providing any service to me and ready for deactivate my account.
                              Really fraud company.

                              When plan activation, they have called me several times. At the time of renewal they didn't notice me with any call. If i ask for refund and plan cancellation they come up with stories like t&c. Worst customer service and marketing strategy.

                              My question is how hdfc is tie up with these type of fraudulent company. I had lot of respect with hdfc services, but with this issue i totally disappointed with hdfc. I know, i was accepted the walletassist plan one year before when i got my credit card. But at that time, they didn't had any single word for auto-renewal.

                              Please don't go with oneassist. Real cheaters.
                              Hdfc please concern about these things.

                                I purchased an apple ipad on 10th february under the 'valentine's day 10000 cashback offer'. ​as per the offer a cashback of 10000 was supposed to be credited within the 90 days of purchase.

                                My friends and colleagues also purchased the same and are facing the same issues. Tried email the customer care, but the emails bounce back.

                                Its been more than 90 days and the cashback is not credited.
                                Under this scheme it was mandatory for the buyer to opt for 6 months emi.
