I received a random call from hdfc bank customer care asking me to confirm my postal address. Since i was an existing account holder with the bank, i confirmed their queries. Few days later, i receive a hdfc credit card by post. Despite declining it many times, the customer care executives suggested that it was a mistake from their end and since the card is already active, i will have to accept the credit card and can deactivate it online or through phone banking. I have made numerous calls to the customer desk requesting them to deactivate the card as i am getting mails about my credit card annual statement. The responses i receive are varying but the status of my card remains active yet. I request the responsible authorities to look into this malicious marketing trick of hdfc bank to trick unassuming customers.
