10 reasons to prove this is a substandard company

1. Their terms & agreement clearly says "MONEY ONCE PAID WILL NEVER BE REFUNDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ". This one term is enough for anyone to understand that this is a third class company. Please go to terms & conditions section & read for yourselves.
2. They only follow up with customers for collecting money
3. Zero experience or expertise in construction. Most of the times you will feel you have much better solution than they give. Looks like they have full of failed civil engineers.
4. Brokers who have opened an online platform to exploit gullible customers looking for quality work & trapping them with false commitments.
5. Zero visits to construction site. Only claiming of high standards.
6. Not paying the contractors they trap like their customers
7. Contractors use damaged & useless material since they are not paid enough
8. Trying to cover up crucial misses in construction like curing, construction standards etc.
9. Never care about any escalations
10. Their projects never complete.

Now, if anyone is still intrested in trying them, good luck.I guarantee you a definite failure of your dream project.

Below is my story:

If there is a synonym for Housejoy, then it is "fully incompetent ". I have given these guys a project of building a 200sqft room & repenting daily for last 5 months. When they took up the project, they behaved very professionally saying there will be a schedule plan, site visits by their engineers on regular basis & what not. When I did the payment & work started, they said its a very tiny work & will be completed in a month. Work start date was April 10th & today on Sep 10th I am writing this review after going through hell of a time with these a*******. They actually shared a plan after one month of starting work & after my repeated fights & stopping payment. Again the completion date promised there was also Aug 20th. They are nothing but brokers who hunt for contractors after getting a client. Nothing unique here. They take their commission & leave the client to deal with contractors. Absolutely no supervision on any work done. No site visits unless I forced them. They lie to you on daily basis on the work completion schedule for the day & no one turns up. Its happening to me for last one month. The only thing they do promptly is collecting advance payment from you. If you make one payment, then you are automatically in their vicious cycle of advance payments. Unless you pay them, they completely stop the work & after making 80% payment, they comfortably forget the customer. I have steel staircase material which they kept lying on my terrace area completely rusted for last one month. They say its ok to use that material for the staircase work. Such is their commitment to quality. Enough said. I have shared my personal experience here & seeing no end to completion of this project. I have had wonderful experience with other online vendors like bro4u, urbanclap, paintmywalls etc. But these guys have made my life miserable. Hope this feedback will help people looking to assign work to these people. Dont get fooled like me. If at all you want to give work to these guys, please have a legal penalty clause in place, else be ready for a hell ride.And finally "curing of building is not in scope" please be aware. I rue why google does not have a negative rating.

Update : Today is 19th September & work is going on at a very slow pace. Lots of issues still remain to be addressed. Clearly housejoy is behind schedule & quality... A big failure. A local illiterate contractor can do a better job than this.

Update: As on 24th Sep, still many pending work. Not even a single call from housejoy to check whats going on from last one month. Will be posting some nice pictures of their incomplete work over this weekend

Hi, I have got got the construction agreement with housejoy in september 2020 and paid till date 8.8 lakhs but till date no work has been done now we have cancelled the contract but they are not refunding my hard earned money.

I have made booking and signed master agreement in feb 2021. In line with requirement I have paid 10Lakh amount to them.
Due to unfortunate circumstances I have to cancel the my house construction and hence i have requested house joy to cancel the project in Mar 2021. Also I have asked them to refund the money. The only thing till date provided by Housejoy is 2D floorplan of my house and soil survey report.
It has been 4 month since then, no-one from housejoy is responding. Our project cordinator Saranya (previously Chethana) informed me on 26th Jun that Housejoy will not be able to refund the money. Upon objection from my side she said that they will refund but there will delay. It could take more than 6 months since they ran out of fund.

During sale (by Hemant, he also left) Housejoy agreed to everything we asked for and we thought they are better organized but now I feel that going to them was my biggest mistake.

I dont understand an company like housejoy even after 4 month is not able to refund my money. While demanding money they are persuasive and will call you day and night and now when I want refund they are not even responding to my calls or email.

As per last conversation from Saranya, she promissed to get back with refund detail on 5th July, yet here I am still waiting

The work has not started after paying Rs.3L as booking amount, it almost 8months. Now when I requested for refund they are not picking the calls or not responding. This company should be closed and other consumers like from these harassment.

I would like to address the issue at Hyderabad site

Project work started on our G +2 floor house, with Housejoy giving us a timeline of 9 months to completion

We've faced innumerable delays right from the start . The labours stop working suddenly saying they haven't been paid for long. They take weeks to get basic construction material to site, like bricks and sand and steel, all the while assuring that it'll happen in the next couple of hours, while lakhs are collected much in advance. These issues happened at almost every single stage, and the team from site engineer to VP all give fake promises to somehow push for one more day and so on.

Some have even said they'll take material from our site till they get their due. HouseJoy team doesn't care and don't answer their calls.

I would like you to address the issue and get the work done as per the timescale

Last month i got a call from your sales Person ( Mr Suman ) Regarding for further process ...He asked for Advance 3 Lacks for Token Amount ..due to Some Financial Problems iam unable to Adjust ...but u r salesperson follow up Frequently ...i am explain my Financial Condition and he suggested Send me 50k for SFT Price Blocking Purpose ..

After that i will Transferred 50, 000/- (Sarvaloka Services on call pvt Ltd ) Account ...next week your Bangalore Sales person Mr Manish Called me and asking to Remains Balance amount...unfortunately i have some land Legal and Financial Problem ...that is the reason i am drop to Construction .

next day i am inform to your sales team but no one response my calls and Messages, one of your hyd Team telling i am left from Organization, and daily i visited to your Hyderabad Branch Also but no use, Calles center team also not responding Properly ...due to covide u r office Locked . finally i am sending mail u r id .

We have paid booking agreement of20% of 3, 61618 Rs on 21-Sep-2020 there was no progress done in execution of project we have requested for refund and Housejoy is not refunding the amount.

After agreeing to the quote and paying 50% of the amount in advance 1.2L, no work has been executed for the amount.

Our existing functional bathroom which was assigned for renovation has been demolished and left useless. The existing pipelines have been removed and has been made non functional.

After that, no one from housejoy has turned up. We were told from the project coordinator a new vendor would be assigned and then a new quote was provided for approval which was double the existing quote.

On asking for refund as we did not want to approve the new quotation for the same work agreed earlier, we asked the team to refund our amount which is being denied.

We do not have any customer support number or support ticket number provided and being they are refusing to refund our money.

Would like a refund for the grievance caused and raise a consumer complaint for refusing to refund our money.

Booked a floor addition project June 2020. Nothing done until now already collected 6 lakhs. They are not accepting cancellation request. We are middle class ppl . Please cancel my contract and refund all my money including rent supposed to be paid for your delay.

This is one of the worst company ever seen. They make customers feel like beggars. They do not have any intent to finish the projects. Please call me for detailed explanations. BEWARE of this company. Still they have not returned my money.
They are cheating and playing with innocent peoples.

Very worst Fraud construction company. I have paid advance for my home construction in chennai on July 2nd 2020, they delayed so much without any work till Jan 2021, they just collect money and full of fake promises, we have to follow up with them each and every day and still they wont do their work, i have paid close to 30% of my project cost for around 7.5 lacs, but they have did work for just 2.5 lacs, they wont respond for cancellation mails, or escalation mails we send to their company mail id, very worst experience so far, i am planning to complain to Economic offenses wing of Chennai commissioner to take legal action against them, they wont share you receipts of payments, their VP, project manager, sales manager etc all leave the company just like that, If you go to the customer escalation manager she will also give fake promises, Your life will just end in calls and all our dream for construction of house is shattered . All chennai people who registered for house construction with House Joy faces this issue sjust like bangalore and Hyderabad.

Housejoy has taken 7 lakh but they not done anything and now they not responding

This is big fraud company, they just want your money.!
Beware of this construction company!

The company is like Alibaba & Chalis (40) choors. full of laying employ in the company, they keep foolish you all the time. even company is proud of what they are doing.

1. I withdraw my project from this company months back, I lost almost 7 lakhs as i paid for pinit work.

2. We lost 1.5 years time, health, lot of tension, money & fights in family.

3. They do not work like a team/company, you have to beg for all & run around for materials.

4. They took 5 months to get my site plan ready & 10 months to just dig my site.

Housejoy took huge money as an advance at the time of agreement and no work progress from last one year. I had to pay about 10 lakhs for just excavation and PCC of a 900sft site. I am totally in a dead lock now. They are neither cancelling the contract nor showing any intent to work on this project. My money, health and work life balance is in stake due to this mess. Beware of such fradulent companies who talk big about changing this disorganised industry. They only sell words, not services.

I have initially connected with Mr.FAHIM & RAJAT Business development team. I made an initial payment of Rs. 3.0 Lakh on 2nd November 2019 for the G+1 construction based on the guidance by the team.

i also was in touch with Manasa (Project Co-ordinator) & Rohini (Architect and Design team),

Since there was no progress on construction other than floor plan, after so many follow up, i got an opportunity to meet Project manager/ incharge at your office which is in the month of March 2020,

During every discussion with your team when they mentioned that a weekly invoice will be raised for Labour payment, I used to mention that I have taken a comprehensive house loan which the banker will release payment based on the stage and not weekly basis.

But your Business Development team said those things will be taken care of by Housejoy's internal team on how to get the money from Banker.

The initial project cost was around 41.0 L, i have been told i have to pay 15% of the project cost to start the work. Hence I paid additional 3.0 L in the month of March 2020.

Post receipt of my total 6 Lakh, the agreement was signed by both the parties myself & CEO, Housejoy.

Then every followup, i used to get a standard answer from Manasa that due to CORONA office is not functioning and we are not working.

On Sep 4, 2020 When i mentioned, i wanted to meet the Project manager, your PC said to come to office, when i reached your office at Domlur after taking permission from the office. i got to know from Security at the premises that House joy office has been shifted to HSR Layout 4 months back. Then I reached PC (Manasa), she said sorry and forgot to inform me of the change in the office and asked me to come to the new office directly. I could not take a chance to go as it will take another 2-3 hours for To & Fro and discussion hours. It will be too late to reach the office back.

Due to the CORONA situation and financial constraints, i have to reduce the project to Ground Floor which was planned for G+1 initially. Then the team shard BOQ for Rs.21.0 Lakhs and said the 6L paid by me will be sufficient to start the project without any payment till banker release payment.

Exactly after 1 year from the 1st payment, the below activity started on my site
- 3rd November 2020 - site cleaning work started
- 4th November 2020 - Marking has done
- 6th November 2020 - Centre line work carried
- 10th November 2020 - Architect Eashwar visited and checked Centerline marking
- 18th November 2020 - Footing Excavation work initiated
- 21st November 2020 - Trimming work was carried at the Footage

The above is the total activity done in my construction site in 1 year 2 months period.

The Site Engineer shared a couple of messages mentioning waiting for material to start the work.

Now those handling the project have left the company and HJ has assigned a new PC (Swaroop) & Project Manager (Rajat). Since both of them joined recently in House joy, they are not sure what has to be done to my site.

Swaroop arranged for a meeting and I personally visited your office at HSR layout on 14-Dec-2020.

Swaroop is totally fresher and he has not updated on the company process. He is asking whether I am a Prepaid customer OR post paid customer. I said, i don't know about your categorization of customers. After the internal discussion, he said i am a pre-paid customer so the team will work only after collecting money from me. I was shocked to know that your internal process, when i am having housing loan for construction and where i can get money for advance payment,

I was totally frustrated after all these conversations with Swaroop and Rajat. I am unable to understand why the project is not taking up and who has to work and what. I became blank for time and I didn't know what kind of situation I was in.

I can share all the whatsapp conversations which i had with the team and mail exchanges. I have specified my difficulties on many occasions that i am making only an interest portion of my loan amount to Banker and i am not able to pay Principle part as the site work itself has not started to apply for construction loan part which will be released by banker only after plinth level completion. so far interest paid close to 3.6 Lakhs just because of the delay in site construction and non-utilisation of Construction loan part.

I spoke to your Customer Care executive who called me to get my feedback on the project. I have expressed to her the pressure which I am going through and my situation..

In this regard, I wanted to know whether Housejoy is interested in taking up my project, or I can go ahead with some other Contractors.

Please treat this as a FRUSTRATED CLIENT CONCERN MAIL and revert at the quickest possible time.

Hired a carpenter service to fix locks and bolts . Not good standard work . The bolts came out within an hour . Called the customer care and they are equally irresponsible. Promised to call back within 10 minutes. Never called back . Called agin after 2 hours and get some more promises . Spoke the floor supervisor as well but he did also sound like such lapses in service and response does not bother him much .
They have collected the charges in full and don’t know if the job will be completed at all or not .
Bad decision to go to them . Charges are 3 times higher than local carpenters but decided to hire them with an expectation of professional work but must say, the whole experience is absolutely pathetic and won’t go back to them again . What bothers more is not the level of work but the apathy of the customer service executives, including the seniors . I will AVOID in future .

We had paid an advance of Rs 300000/-Booking Advance to Housejoy in the month of June 20 for our house construction project.
The project has not taken off nothing happened at the ground level.The coordinators kept quitting the company and we dont know whom to talk to.
We sent an Email on the 17th of Oct 2020 to cancel and refund the amount to all the people involved in the project, but nobody responded to that aswell.
WE need the refund of Rs 300000/- paid
Somebody please respond immediately.

I have given the project to house joy for house construction,
Project initiated from Nov 2019, & due to Covid 19, Project started from Aug 2020, till date after 2 -3 revision in schedule also not adhering to the schedule as well as materials also not supplying in time after making the RA payment in time,
No body is taking the responsibility and CEO office also i am trying to contact, there is of no use, My money is blocked, I need the clarification.

Sales agent promised to take the booking agreement at a token amount of 1 lakh and booking agreement delayed for one month. Post which they demanded 3 lakh rupee as token amount and not ready to refund the booking g amount although the booking agreement never happened.

The escalation manager, project manager are just useless as they are cheating the customer .
