Dear Sir,
My A/c number is[protected]JASHOBANTA DEHURY) in Lalbagh, Bangalore branch. It is a salary Account. On 12th December 2014 SMAB chargs (INR 393) is deducted. What is this SMAB charges and why it is deducted ? Is there any way to get back it ? Please help me out of this.

I am also having account in jamnagar branch since 2007.

In 2009 to 2011 You have not deduct any SMAB charges from my account, but now from January 2014 to dec 2014 you deduct 2500/-
Amount from my account without any noticed or intimation.

I was just checking my account details, and I saw the following deduction:-

This was done without any prior information, Which is totally wrong. So I request u to refund my 164.91rs asap. As I have no balance left in my account.

I have a ICICI Bank Account - Mount Road Branch Chennai. My Account No is[protected] and has been charged with SMAB Charges for Dec 14 of Rs.393.26 on 12.01.2015.

I don't have any mail informing about this SMAB charges. I have no information from ICICI. No call, no mail and no msg. Now
that I understand that ICICI bank has not informed me about change of balance system, hence any deduction from account for the same is totally wrong and if charges deducted are not credited back to my account then I will be left with no other option but to take this matter to higher authorities and Banking Ombudsman as this is CLEAR VIOLATION of Rule 8(1)(k) i.e. "levying of charges without adequate prior notice to the customer" of The Banking Ombudsman Scheme 2006.

I also have the same issue. Without any prior notice through any mode, there has been a deduction of SMAG chgs. This is what is there in my detailed statement:

I am also an ICICI account holder but somehow my salary account with this bank is no longer in use. I however, had some balance always in it for emergency purposes and I have been using it rarely too. But to my surprise my balance in this account now is 0.0. I checked the last 10 transactions and nearly 6 transactions out of the viewed 10 show SMAB charges in the description. The details of these transactions are as follows-

Date: 04/09/2014 - SMAB charges July 2014 - Amount: 280.9 + 30.9 (service tax)
Date: 27/09/2014 - SMAB charges Aug 2014 - Amount: 280.9 + 30.9 (service tax)
Date: 15/10/2014 - SMAB charges Sep 2014 - Amount: 280.9 + 30.9 (service tax)
Date: 15/11/2014 - SMAB charges Oct 2014 - Amount: 393.26 + 43.26 (service tax)
Date: 12/12/2014 - SMAB charges Nov 2014 - Amount: 303.69 + 33.40 (service tax)
Date: 12/01/2015 - SMAB charges Dec 2014 - Amount: 73.00 + 8.03 (service tax)

And that gets my balance to 0.0

I was not informed about such deduction and also since this is supposed to be the salary account i think the MAB is not applicable. However, if the account has been converted to Savings over a period of time (by default), then the bank should have informed me about this and the applicable MAB for the same. I would have preferred closing the account by taking out the balance then rather than continuing with this non-essential operating account and having this amount deducted without being informed.

I would request ICICI bank officials to look into this and refund me the balance (Rs. 1790.04) at their earliest.

Over the period of last 1 year, around Rs. 1550 have been deducted from my account (A/c no:[protected] with transaction remark "SMAB Chgs XXX14+Stax 2.31" without informing me about this.

I haven't used this account in last one year and I was considering to start using again but was surprised to see 0 balance when I logged in today. I felt happy that I had not left more money in this account, otherwise you would have sucked up everything.

Kindly inform me why this amount was deducted and refund it as it was deducted without informing me.

I am having bank account in ICICI Chamiers road branch, Chennai for last 7 years
and my account no. is[protected].

Transactions to my account is very less. I was just checking my bank statement today
and got the shock because my account has been debited by MAB charges of
Rs.1211.80 from September 2014 to December 2015. Now my account balance has become nil.

I have not received any mail informing about this MAB charges. I have no
information from ICICI. No call, no mail and no message. Now, I understand that
ICICI bank has not informed me about change of balance system. I wanted the
amount debited without information to me has to be credited back to my account with
immediate effect. If it is not done then I have no other option but to take up this
matter to higher authorities and Banking Ombudsman.

What is mean by SMAB charges & also on 16 FEB 2015 had cutted SMAB charges RS.13/- in my account.I didn't understand why you are cutting this charges every month please reply to my comment.

I too face this issue. I have salary account with ICICI Bank and I was not using it for past 4 months. I was shocked when I logged in today as my account balance is nil. In last 4 months, Rs. 900 had been deducted from my account as SMAB charges without any prior intimation via Phone or Email. ICICI should have informed about this prior to deduction and also the applicable MAB for the same. I am very disappointed and would request ICICI bank officials to look into this and refund the deducted amount at the earliest.

I was checking my statements and observed that some charges SMAB Chgs MAR15+Stax30.9 and SMAB Chgs FEB15+Stax30.9 are debited.The total debited amount is 562, which was not in my knowledge and i didn't get any
intimation for that. Kindly look into the matter and refund my balance.
