[Resolved] ICICI Bank — ICICI Bank - Deduction of SMAB charges without informing about the change | |||
Hi, I am having a salary bank account in ICICI Vakola branch from last two and half years and my account no. is[protected] My contact number is : [protected] I was just checking my bank statement and got the shock of my life. My account has been debited by MAB charges thrice in last 3 months. 26/12/2013 SMAB Chgs-Nov13+Stax 43.26 393.26 16/01/2014 SMAB Chgs-Dec13+Stax 43.26 393.26 22/02/2014 SMAB Chgs-Jan14+Stax 43.26 393.26 I tried calling the vakola branch at[protected] but there was no response. I don't have any mail informing about this MAB charges. I have no information from ICICI. No call, no mail and no msg. Now that I understand that ICICI bank has not informed me about change of balance system, hence any deduction from account for the same is totally wrong and if charges deducted are not credited back to my account then I will be left with no other option but to take this matter to higher authorities and Banking Ombudsman as this is CLEAR VIOLATION of Rule 8(1)(k) i.e. "levying of charges without adequate prior notice to the customer" of The Banking Ombudsman Scheme 2006. Today when I was checking the statement of this year I was shocked to know about the "SMAG" charge deduction without any prior deduction. My Account number is[protected], Gwalior Branch. Till now ICICI Deducted my Rs 4200. I have not received any msg/ call before deduction of this money. See this is very hard earned money.If you people will do like this, nobody will prefer this bank .As this is CLEAR VIOLATION of Rule 8(1)(k) i.e. "levying of charges without adequate prior notice to the customer" of The Banking Ombudsman Scheme 2006.
One more think I am in IT, and I can circulate this truth to everyone. This may hamper your customer list. So beware and return my money ( Rs 4200). I hope I will get your support as ICICI known for this. If not done anything within a week, I will contact higher authorities.

Amount of Rs. 500 on avg. got deducted from my account almost for 1.5 years & total deduction was around Rs. 7000.
Bank cannot have any authority for such deductions without any intimation to customer...
After so much try finally i got reversal of last 3 transaction.
They have done reversal of last 3 charges & promised me other charges will get refund after visiting ICICI branch itself.
But now branch is saying its not possible to reverse, by giving stupid reasons.
Its been 3 months now...
I am now thinking to discontinue my account with your branch if your approach is going to be like this.
Because ICICI bank can send useless message & calls... about loans & credit card @ mobile every time,
& important intimations like SMAB charges never sent to their customer @least once in 1.5 years ...,
as this bank can't do anything which is in customers interest.. i guess...
