I am an Idea Cellular user in Hyderabad. I activated ISD services on my Number through the Idea Cellular website at around 9.30 pm on Monday, 8th September 2014 and PAID 1000 Rs through Credit Card as requested (This service was given to me BY DEFAULT from my previous service provider, VODAFONE). After making the payment, I called the customer care number 12345 and spoke to the executive and requested him to activate the service right away as it was an URGENT requirement for me as I had to make some job related calls. He said the service will be activated by midnight and so I left it at that. Next morning I tried making some ISD calls and found out the service was still not Active. I called the customer care again around 11.00 am and was told that the service was not active for some reason they are not sure of. I asked to speak to the escalation department. Mr. RAJASEKHAR from escalation department comes online after 20 MINUTES of waiting and said the amount is not received by them. I mentioned about the mail I received from Idea regarding the payment confirmation at 10.30 pm on 8th September 2014. He asked me to forward that payment confirmation mail as proof. I did send the confirmation e-mail to the mail ID ([protected]@idea.adityabirla.com) provided by him and received (maybe) an automated reply stating that they will get back to me in 48 HOURS. At 11.30 am, I called 12345 and asked to speak to the escalation department again, Mr. RAJASEKHAR comes online again after 30 MINUTES and still argues that a payment was not yet received and asked for 4 hours time for it to be activated. After 5 hours I tried making an ISD call and still the same message saying that the service is not active. Meanwhile, I received a message at 1.30 So I called 12345 again at 5pm and asked to speak to the escalation department, after more than 40 MINUTES of waiting Mr. RAJASEKHAR came online and apologized that the service is still not active even after the payment being received and asked for 1 more hour and said he will get it activated at any cost, I told him I will check for the services again by 6.30 pm and call him back if its not active. He assured he will not leave office until he gets this done and I trusted him (like a fool). 7.30pm, I get back home and check to see the service is still not active. Now is the worst part, I tried calling 12345 again but was getting a message that all their customer care representatives were busy and the call gets disconnected. I tried calling them several times (around 30 times) and still the same thing happens. I simultaneously called 12345 from my wife's idea number and her phone goes through at the very instance and from my phone it is still the same, cannot get through. I assumed they have blocked my number from getting through to the customer care. I decided to speak to them through my wife's number. I asked to be connected to escalation department, this time another person comes online (don't want to name him) and I asked him to put me to Mr. RAJASEKHAR but for some reason he said he cannot do that. Anyways I explained the whole thing again to this person and asked him if he can do anything. He said there is nothing in his hands, I asked him to either get my ISD service activated or payback the money i paid or put me to his superior or I will not disconnect the call. He kept me waiting on call for 2 HOURS popping in every now and then to say the same thing I have been hearing the whole day "your request has been escalated to higher authorities and will be activated ASAP". Towards the end he started giving me all irrelevant reasoning possible for me to cut the call. In these 2 hours that I was on call, he never put me to his supervisor saying that he was out of office. He started requesting me to disconnect the call saying it will be activated tonight or tomorrow. I did not budge, I was very frustrated. On the other hand, from my phone, I called the Idea cellular toll free number[protected] to register my complaint, I told the guy I wanted to register a complaint, he said he is connecting me to his superior and kept me on hold for 1 HOUR before I decided to give up. In all I spent around 5 to 6 hours talking or waiting on the customer care number which is chargeable at 50p for every three minutes. They got the 1000 Rs. they asked for and the extra money I spent on the customer care calls but could not activate my ISD service as yet.

I am very upset and disappointed with the PATHETIC customer care service meted out to me. I would like to know from you what action will be taken against such unprofessionalism and who will be held accountable for the delay you caused even after receiving the money that was asked for.
