On 8th of July, at 12.40PM (approx.), a call came from some unknown number. The caller was a Lady. I took the call and could not hear anything. After few seconds the call got disconnected on its own.
At 12.45PM, A message, came to my Cell phone, informing me about the Activation of Pretone on my cell phone.
At 12.55PM, another message came, saying, Rs.30/- has been deducted.
At 1.00 PM, I dialed 12345 and spoke to call centre (@Hyderabad) people and explained the matter.
During my discussion, I asked for the Call reference number, which they provided (Only to find later a wrong reference number) and also I insisted to talk to the manager, which I got connected after holding for arround 6 to 7 minutes. The manager, who took my call is "Mohhemad" (only God knows, whether it is a real Manager or somebody else is doing proxy). I narrated entire story and the manager told me to call back at 2PM on 198.
When I made call at 2PM, the system asked for the call reference number and I found it is a wrong number. Somebody took the call and when I insisted for Mohhemad, His answer was, whatever the problem it is, he will deal with it and he will not pass on.
So again, I explained the story. This time answer was very prompt, saying that, on 6th of July I have activated "Pretone" facility on my mobile.
Although, I insisted that I have not done it, the guy at Call Centre was so rude, that I was forced to disconnect the call.
My observation is, I am a cell phone user since 1999. I am using AIRTEL for last 15 years. For the first time I took IDEA, and the experience is so horrible, that I will not dare to use it again or advise anyone in future.
IDEA management can give a cross check on my story and they should find out,
1. What kind of cheap people they are employing, who do not know how to behave with public.
2. A very cheap way of making an earning (Achieving target by forecefully deducting amount).
3. People should be trained.
4. Ill practice should be discouraged.
Today, I got the pretone de-activated by sending SMS.
