[Resolved]  Keystone RV — Body Paint on RV

Keystone failure to repair paint on a new 2014 Montana Big Sky fifth wheel camper.I ordered full body paint picked it up on 7/17/13 at dealership the camper was on the shady side of the building and gave it a very close going over, up close the paint looked fine. When i got home and parked in driveway, i got a good look in the sunlight you could see swirl/buffing marks up and down both sides of the 40' camper. On 8/19/13 i returned it to dealership they verified the problem.I have been trying since then to get a work order to have it repaired.Keystone sent someone to look at the paint, after it had sit outside almost three months, they said paint looked fine. The camper was at a service center at the time, the service center manager called Keystone and told them about the swirl/buffing marks in the paint. This has been going on six months.Keystone said they have closed the paint issue.I asked for a OK to take the camper to a body shop that has done a lot of work for Keystone over the years, they refused.I thought the swirl marks could be buffed out, so i had a detail shop look at they said they could cover them up but they would come back.I wanted the body shop Keystone has used in the past to have a look at the paint and find out what could be done to repair it.Keystone said know and refused.I cant send a photo because you cant see them in a picture.I have had two RV service centers and a Auto Detail Shop all agree about the paint problem. It's still under warranty and they refuse because one person tales them what they want to hear. Please Help!!!Thank you James Dalton

I can relate to you. I have a 2013 Montana High Country 303RK. The paint on the nose cap is discolored I took it to dealer one month after I took delivery, Took three months to finally get something done. Well it was only a band aide they use a poli glow kit. It brought the color back but lasted only two months. Was fading again submitted a claim to Keystone they said its a come back on dealer. From day one the dealer wanted it painted and keystone told them us use this product. I looked up the product it is only good for up to 12 months but only lasted two months. Had a RV paint shop look at it they said it needs to be repainted. Keystone said again its a come back to dealer. There is a defect in the materials and or workmanship and they will not honor their warranty. How many more o[censored]s are out there?

I have the same fading issue on the front cap and rear of a 343RL and Keystones response is we are sorry to hear that but your 2012 RV is out of warranty. How can it be a legitimate dodge if this condition is this widespread? It is an obviously defective product.
Firemanhandy - I have a 2014 343RL Montana High Country. Love the unit! But the front cap paint is fading at the top 1/3 ? I have waxed the front cap three times a year to trying to keep it looking good but the paint just keeps oxidizing. I am afraid I will eventually wear the paint away. I believe they did not clear coat the nose cap. This would have protected the paint from oxidizing. The rest of the trailer looks as good as the day I picked it up from the dealer. Keystone needs to address the issue. I have seen a number of Montana High Country trailers with the same issue. Hello Keystone! when you pay big $ for a luxury unit you need to back it up with service. or in this case a recall. When you do not stand behind your product, you will lose your customer base. Us campers do talk to each other and word of mouth will spread quickly about defective paint jobs. I give three stars because the rest of the trailer has been good.
