sub-standard product and mental harassment


Dear Sir/Madam

I have my complaint regarding the mattress KURL ON Foam, purchased by me in May 2012. After two months o[censored]se, the mattress lost its pasting and it was rendered useless as committed by the manufacturer. I approached the dealer from where it was purchased, and after three months of my regular interaction, they were replaced. After so many hard efforts, I again got a pair of mattress for which I had to pay Rupees 500 as cartage which had the same problem after two months o[censored]se. Since last 4 months, no one is listening to my complaint, neither the dealer nor the company. It took me one month to get my complaint registered online with Kurl on, my complaint no. is TN39186 and the toll free no is [protected] . After two months an executive visited my house to examine the condition of mattresses and prepared the report and assured me replacement. Further he added to my knowledge that this is a low standard product of our company .He suggested that this time add some money during replacement and opt to buy a higher quality product, which is not in my budget and I think it’s a kind of trap of company to get its higher priced goods sold. According to the company man, If company gave me replacement, I will again have to suffer the same trauma as this is a commercial model, which was earlier said to be the best selling model. Moreover company is delaying the matter so that warranty period shall lapse and we will be left with no more option. The company executive also took away the original bill on the pretext of lodging my complaint formally with the company, but I retained a scanned copy of bill and warranty.
It is not just a matter regarding the sub-standard product which the company has sold to me but the mental harassment which I am facing after purchasing the mattress and now even the complaint attendant is not picking up my calls. Please do look into this matter urgently

    I had purchased a Kurl On mattress around 2.5 years back with a 5 year warranty. Within an year o[censored]sage the mattress started sagging. I registered a complaint with the helpline for free mattress replacement. Since i logged the complaint after an year of purchase i was offered a replacement on a 60 (self)-40 (company) cost sharing basis (or 50-50 ... not very sure). The principle is that every year the company's liability keeps coming down.

    The new mattress too developed sagging within 6 months o[censored]sage and it was replaced free of cost by the company ( as the usage was less than a year).

    Surprisingly this mattress (No.3) too developed sagging within 6 months o[censored]sage. Again i approached the company for help and this time i was rudely turned away saying that

    -- Sagging has happened because of people sitting on the mattress and you are not supposed to sit on the mattress!!!!!
    -- The "depth" of sagging is less than 1.5 inches and hence please change the mattress position instead of replacement. I am not even sure how much is the "depth" but effectively it means that one has to continue using such defective mattress, risk back pain and keep on changing sides till the sagging crosses 1.5 inches !!!.

    I have spent close to Rs. 30000 on this purchase/replacement and am left with an unusable mattress.

    WE HAD GOT A KURLON (FURNO-BRAND) MATTRESS CHANGED THROUGH MR CHAITNYA-KURLON REPRESENTATIVE IN INDORE.BUT IT ALSO HAS SAGGED.THE FIRST ONE ALSO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ?

      I had booked an Ortho mattress of Kurlon make through M/S Agrawal brothers of dehri- on- sone in the month of 16.11.2012. At the time of booking dealer said that there is a mini blanket gift of worth Rs. 2900/- with 6/6.5 ortho mattress. I also confirmed it by Kolkata customer care center and he said that there is mini blanket gift with ortho mattress.
      M/S Agrawal Brothers deliverd it after a month on 25.12.2012 without gift. On inquiring about gift dealer said that it will be given at the end of month .Again after some time inquired about gift, dealer said that there is two pillow with mattress.
      I also discussed this matter with Kolkata customer care but till date no result is obtained.
      Please look into the matter anf provide committed gift.

        I bought a coat, Mattresses, dining table and steel cupboard from Classic Furniture, Shop no 2, Parth Building, plot no 228, Sector 13, Kharkhar, Navi Mumbai, 410210. I bought a coat, Mattresses, dining table and steel cupboard from Classic Furniture. Price of these all products are Rs.25000. and the price of mattresses are specifically mentioned 4500 in the receipt and they told us that the requested mattresses are delivered to me. the price of the mattresses is not visible while doing delivery so that i was not able to see the price tag as it is covered with plastic papers. later i found out that the the actual price of mattresses are 3500 instead of 4500 and low quality product too. so kindly request you to take the necessary action against the concerned company.

            On 22.01.2012 we purchased orthopadic mattress 6/4 worth Rs. 10,260 from kurlon dealer Royal Furnitures, Borivali west. The mattress was delivered late on 30.01.2012. Firstly the dealer didnot mention about the free gift with purchase of mattress & secondly he tried to tear of the sticker attached with the mattress. Luckily he couldnot tear off the total sticker & we came to know about the free gift. When we asked for the free gift he told us he forgot about it & then he gave us one single pillow. We then enquired about the free gift with the Bangalore Head office, in turn they said the free gift was medium sized trolly bag. When we demanded for the trolly bag, the dealer denied & told us to contact the Kurlon Bombay office. When enquired with the Bombay office they told us the free gift was pillow. We found something fishy here & once again we checked with the Bangalore office which in turn again told us the free gift is medium sized trolly bag where as thw Bombay office again denied. How can there be two different statements from the same company for two different regions. I would request everybody to think over before buying anything from Kurlon & their dealers

            ortho 6/4 is accompanied with 1 pillow as free gift as it is considered as single bed mattress. in which 1 pillow is give. strolley bag comes with double bed mattress size 6/5 and above.
            so dealer has not cheated you. so dont worry and enjoy the mattress
            I bought from kurl on dealers in Banglore one mattress, in the mattress it is given free gift with this mattress. But dealer didn't give any gift. When enquired he said only for queen & king size they give discount & free gift. Misleading add KURL ON gives. Better not to choose Kurl on.
            No free gift in TAMIL nadu.

              I had bought 2 Super Delux Mattress of Kurlon brand from their Authorized dealer in JP Nagar 6th Phase Bangalore on 18th March 2011.

              Within 5 months o[censored]sage both the mattress sagged from middle and I had called the dealer and complained about it. As per dealer he forwarded my complaint to Kurlon but no one contacted me in this regard. After waiting for 15-20 days I filed a complaint (TN-09671) on 29th August with the Kurlon Call center, even after regular follow up with them and making multiple reminders, no action is taken to even come and inspect the mattresses. even though on every call I was being promised that my complaint will be addressed in 48 hours maximum.

              I had to then hunt for the local office number myself and call them to complaint about the mattresses. I had to been promised inspection by them but even after 3 weeks of constant follow ups no one has even come to inspect the mattress.

              I would request people to stay away from Kurlon and sincerely ask Kurlon to stop cheating people and not boast about the quality which they cannot offer, in-spite of claiming to be best in the Industry.

                I have purchased a brand new Kurl-On mattress(Classic) on 3/07/11 from Handa Handloom Rajouri Garden,New Delhi.
                Within one month it got pressed from centre and has aquired U shape...
                I have contacted Kurlon Customer care (Complaint No:TN-009927),After calling them several times a Person named Onkar(+91-[protected]) came,He told me he will discuss with his boss and will do something to replace it,Till now nothing has been done,After calling several times I got frustrated and told him If they are not doing anything I will be going to court,He told me It's better option you please go to court and get it resolved there :-(
                IT's already more than a month ,I called Kurlon customer care several times,they are always giving promise that they will call me back with asolution, many times, but not even called once. So nothing positive has been done until now.It looks to me that I have wasted my thousands of rupees and I need to garbage these new Mattresses...

                  I purchaged a dining table with four chair from Margao (Goa) manufactured by Kurlon Limited on 19 th Feb. From the first day only it starts giving trouble , the glass top got detached from the bottom legs,I brought this into notice of the dealor and he fixes this with some glue, but again same thing happened, then i realized that base was not installed properly and it is defective, with very less weight it gets spread and the glasstop gets detached . I feel there is manufacturing defect in the bottom part as four legs come out of the top portion.I had sent two three mails to company and requested them to come and inspect the product but they have not bothered to look into my complain.Kindly do the needful. I have spent Rs. 20000 for the table

                  Before 10 months from S.P. Furnishing Mehrauli New Delhi, I bought a mattress (kur-lon apna mattress no.03231)but now it break and it has Guarantee of about 1 year and now they refuse to change it,so please you take an immediate action for my this problem.

                    I purchased two Kurl -on Mattresses (Furno bed) from M/S B.G. Stores, New Market, Dibrugarh, Assam. After using it for few months, the mattress got flattened and the stitchings got removed. Due to the change of shape of the mattress we have started getting pain and stiffness on back (spondylitis). I lodged a complaint to the company through their website and I received a phone call from their representative informing me that thay will come and if necessary the material will be replaced. After few months of waiting I lodged a second complaint (Referrence Number: RF04837) but this time, there is no response from the company.
                    Then I verbally informed the store from where I have purchased the material about the problem I have faced.
                    The money should be refunded as the replaced one will also have the same problem.

                      I had purchased a Kurl-on mattress on 25/07/2010. from the authorized dealer of Jamshedpur : S.P.Sinha & Sons-(model no.S.D.L,size 78/72/4 ).The mattress has become defective and some sides of the mattress has become thin.It is uncomfortable to sleep on it.
                      Since it is still in its guarantee period,look on this matter as soon as possible.Its guarantee period will get over on 25/07/2011 so exchange this mattress within this period.

                        Hi,

                        I bought a Kurl-On Spring mattress (tiara pillow top kingsize mattress) 6.5"x6"x8" (thickness) (Rs.22K) in March 2009. After using for 6 months the mattress started shrinking on one side. I never took the problem seriously and couple of months went. Suddenly I started getting back pain so I called up Kurlon customer care in (jan-2010). The person checked the mattress and told that is not a problem and said to reverse the mattress for 2 weeks (this pillow top mattress cannot be used in reversible state), so still I believed in him and did it exactly what he did. It never worked and after batting for two months for fixing this, they finally told me that this cannot be fixed we have to replace and they replaced it.

                        Again problem started even before I started using. One side of the mattress has uneven height of the springs and it was slant. At first this was not visible much because of new mattress. But after using for 5 months, the slanting was clearly visible and again I called customer care.

                        Again this time I have to fight with Mr.Satish Shetty for fixing the mattress and he took two months for giving the status (I used to call him on phone daily twice or thrice) and he told me that he will replace it and this is done in sep-2010.

                        After opening the new mattress from cover I found out that the mattress is shrinking in the center of the mattress (around 2 to 3") and it was making me very uncomfortable.

                        So I complained about new mattress, Satish is started yelling at me and this is new mattress and we are not going to check anything again.

                        So I could not speak more with him and I started using it. Again after 3 to 4 months, my center of the mattress looks like a pit and when two person's sleep we roll towards center as it is going down at the center.

                        I logged a complaint to satish and he told me that "I cannot do anything". But a person came from kurlon named Arun Kumar and he checked the mattress and told me that what I said was right. He told me with out inspection how they delivered it to me.

                        Now again I stuck with the same process. The customer care people of wanted ignoring me.

                        What should I do ? Throw the mattress or file a complaint in consumer forum.

                        Please help.

                        Venkat - ask for your money back and get a different brand. If not go to the consumer forum. I guess in today's world suppliers / manufacturers cannot take customers for a ride for not fault of theirs. I suggest that you post this over as many social forums as possible as that is one of the most powerful mode of spreading the word around. I am sure this will teach them the appropriate lesson.
                        I did purchase a pocket spring king size mattress from Kurlon and am not satisfied. I do not have any back-ache but got one already by using this.
                        I agree. I had purchased a Kurl On Spring Mattress two years ago and the centre started to sag like a black hole. Their customer care is useless. I've since purchased a mattress called Spring Air. Apparently they are an 80+ year old American company who are now in India and their products are beautiful, and are very aptly priced. I got my queen size mattress at about Rs.27, 000, but it was worth every penny! I sleep blissfully these days!

                          I purchased two Kurl-on Matress in August, 2010 from M/s. P.K. MUSIC STORES (PVT.) LTD. 534, M.G. Road (Chowrasta) , BUDGE-BUDGE, KOLKATA-700137 PHONE NO. [protected] / E-Mail ID:[protected]@yahoo.com, with a 1 year warranty and within TWO MONTHS of purchasing the mattress developed holes and got pushed inside leading to an unvenen surface and as a result the matress was not in a usable state.

                          I complaint the dealer reagarding this, then the dealer discussed this matter to concerned person & assured me that the company staff will visit after the PUJA FESTIVAL & resolve the problem.

                          I registered the complaint to Kurl on customer care in October 2010. but nobody responding .Hence Please look into this matter and replace the mattress.

                            I purchased a Kurl-on Matress in Feb, 2010 with a 1 year warranty and within 3 months of purchasing the mattress developed holes and got pushed inside leading to an unvenen surface and as a resule the matress was not in a usable state. I registered the complaint to Kurl on customer care in August 2010. but nobody responding .Hence Please look into this matter and replace the mattress.

                              We bought Kurl-on Mattress last year in the month of July, but they sagged just 4-5 months only, i first contacted the showroom (Sumangal, 126, Chakrata Road, Dehradun) with receipt no. 1692 dated 4.7.2009) from where i have purchased the product, but they were not sincere enough to take my complaint forward and just had given me a mobile no. of mr. ramkumar, the after sales support staff of Haridwar office who misbehaved with with me and even called me MAD.

                              Then i raised a complaint at their website on 23rd April 2010 with reference no.RF00572 and assured me that they will contact me in 48 hours, but noone contact me till date, i again raised a complaint on their website on 14th June 2010 with reference no. RF01040, again saying someone will contact in 48 hours, no one has contacted till date.

                              I request kurl-on to take urgent action and replace my mattress, becoz of them i have started feeling backache, for which kurl-on is responsible and liable to pay compensation of the same.

                                Sir,
                                I had purchased Klassic Kurlon mattresses from KURLON Nest, Faizabad Road, LUCKNOW on 27th Nov.2009. these mattresses sacked within two months of time and these were replaced by another pair of mattresses in the month of Jan./Feb,2010. These so called new mattresses again sacked a complaint was again lodged with a request that if possible that these mattresses may be replaced with ORTHO mattresses. On this I was informed that I have to bear the extra cost if I choose a higher variety or I will have to buy any other product if the difference of money is due on the company. In this case the Ortho variety was cheaper by Rs.500/.The Nest replaced me with new Ortho mattresses requested by me and accordingly I purchased one bed sheet worth Rs2145/ and paid the balance amount of Rs.1645/ through Credit card. After use of these mattresses for 2 or 3 days I was called by the Nest people to return the ORTHO mattresses as the company has not accepted my request for the replacement. I immediately I exchanged these ORTHO mattress with another New pair of Klassic mattress. Since, the Company has no exchange policy I had requested the Nest, Faizabad to take back this bedsheet and return my money Rs.1645/ as I had to buy this sheet under compulsiom. I sincerely hope that this time your new mattresses does not sack other wise I will have to lodge another complain.
                                I just fail to understand if the Company does not have an exchange policy why I was allowed to change these mattresses.
                                Sir, Pl. donot stress your valuable customer. it is we who runs your company not your emplyoees.

                                  Sir,

                                  I had purchased Kurl -on Mattress from A-1 FURNISHING:- KALAMBOLI NAVI-MUMBAI Dealer

                                  At the time of purchase, it was told that in case of defect, it will be changed on the same day.

                                  The mattress got flattened within 6 months here and there and then we made a compliant at the Dealer shop to get it changed.

                                  As there was no response of the complain made at the Dealer Shop, we kept on running it. After one visit, we are told company person has to come and inspect and then only they will change the mattress. And till date no one has come from the company and inspected.
                                  than i have called kurlon bhiwandi center there no is [protected], than they have given me complian no:-28, and told me to contact there kurlon executive, i am taking to the executive from date i have registered my complain, he is giving me different excuses, i have booked my compalin on 20/05/2010, but no responce have been given by these people, very bad service by kurlon, the executive no is :-[protected].
                                  After no. of calls at dealer shop, there is no response.

                                  Kindly Help us as we have made payment and did not get good material.

                                    I had bought Kurl On Ultra mattresses from an authorised dealer in Ghaziabad. They got sagged in 3 months, however the company took the complaint only after 5 months and took another one month for inspection.
                                    I have got the authorisation letter for replacement but it has been about one month and still the dealer is making one excuse or the other for replacing them. I am highly disappointed with type of shoddy customer service.

                                      Dear Sir,

                                      I purchased a Kurl-on Matress in Oct, 2009 with a 1 year warranty and within 3 months of purchasing the mattress developed holes and got pushed inside leading to an unvenen surface and as a resule the matress was not in a usable state. I registered the complaint to Kurl on customer care in December 2009. The concerned person finally visited my house to look at the mattress in Feb, 2009. The mattress was part of the complete houshold furniture that I had purchased from a dealer and the dealer never bothered to stamp the guarantee card. Hence I was told by Kurl-on to get the dealer's seal & stamp on the mattress and they will replace the mattress. I promptly got that done by end of Feb and have been following up with Kurl-On ever since without any response. Everytime I call them they make false promises that the mattress will be delivered tomorrow and fail to live up to their promises. They try to fool me with some or the other excuse every time.

                                      This has resulted in a lot of mental agony for me and I request you to kindly intervene and get this matter resolved.

                                      I have purchase kuron mattress on 12/11/12 the mattress was not proper it was showing pressed from middle and there was hard stone in it company people came to check and he said replacement will be given in 15 days time after 12 days another mattress was brought which was in worst condition there was at least 5 to 7 stone problem it was showing hard from one side contact Mr Lalit he said give me 5 days will get in touch with you but nothing has been done till no very bad service purchase from Maratha mattress Andherie west DN NAGAR the shopkeeper is saying please pay more money and take bigger quality nice way of earning money .                                         I bought a Kurlon mattress from a dealer, Handloom World at Jayanagar . He showed me a new bed and only one bed was avaiable he said, but when he delivered the product he sent an old used bedand not the one he showed to me, I called him and spoke to him, he said that I have to contact Kurlon limited and that the bed has 10 years warranty and they will replace it I called and a Business Officer came home and inspected the bed and also confirmed that the bed is an old used one. That is a dealer fault and he spoke with a dealer and at that time the dealer agreed to replace the bed, after a week I called the officer and he had met with an accident and hence could not follow up with this problem. After months I called the Kurlon limited again and another Business officer came and he said that he will talk to the senior officers and let me know, after 2 days he is saying that I have to call the dealer again and get it settled with the dealer, If the dealer calls the company they will replace it. I called the dealer and he is not willing to call the Kurlon limited.
                                        The mattress comes with a box type Kurlon plastic cover but the bed was wth a duroflex cover.
                                        The bed was with oil and dirty on the corner of the bed, and also the bed has rust marks on the underside of the bed, which is of a cot.
                                        This kind of beds are usually manufactured after the order and will take atleast a weeks time to be delivered, and the bed will have a manufacturing date, but this bed had no manufacturing date.

                                        Please help me so that the bed will be replaced, I am in agony and mental pressure from the time I bought this bed and no sleep at all.
