Refund of hotel due to non availability of room

I am captain rohan khisti from pune . I had got my honeymoon booking done through make my trip to kerala from 03 jan 2014 to 8th jan 2014 . The initial stay at munnar thekady and allepey was good . Then we arrived in kovalam and we were shocked to see the hotel which was given to us . We reached there at 12 pm on 7th jan and we were made to sit in the hotel till 2.30 . We have booked a package Trip of Delhi-Manali-Shimla-Delhi where we will be celebrating our New Year Eve in Shimla confirmed hotel booking by MakeMyTrip. When we arrived at Shimla on 31st Night there was no Hotel bookings made by MakeMyTrip. As we had the Hotel booking confirmation voucher by MakeMyTrip but Hotelier did not entertained this as they did not get any information from MakeMyTrip.
We were 2500km away from my hometown not knowing where to go and whom to approach? We were wandering in the cold chilled night with a kid looking out for an accommodation to spend that night. We were fully tired after 10 hours’ drive from Manali to Shimla and MakeMyTrip made us to wander in the ice cold windy night with kid asking for food. There was no support given by MakeMyTrip to us and we were all alone on the lonely roads in the night. Shimla was fully packed that night due to New Year Eve and we could not get accommodation anywhere. We got hold of a broker and somehow got a hotel to stay 30km away from Shimla. They did not give any written bill or any other facilities than just to spend the night.
The worst part is MakeMyTrip denies to refund the amount what I beared on that night to get that Hotel.

Don't ever rely on MakeMyTrip for any Holiday bookings. Don't believe on MakeMyTrip for your Hotel bookings and travel. Have a plan B. Best avoid MakeMyTrip. You don't know what pain we have gone through that night where all others are enjoying the New Year party.

I have approached so many people below and I found there are few heartless people who does not know the the pain you go through when you are harassed or tortured. Does not value the hard earn money of an human being. OK, just one more email ID to forward and forwarded the whole email chain to you. Let me see what difference it makes ... !!!.

    Had booked round trip ticket on Makemytrip.com. wanted to cancel the return leg Cancelled the return leg with Airline basis instruction from Makemytrip Have been following up for past 2 weeks but not refunding the amount. Also on website the refund amount is showing as cancellation charges and vice versa. Refund was to be processed on the 14th but has still not happened. Every time i call customer care they say they have escalated to their team and the processing will happen in 4 days. I am being taken for a ride

      Dear Sir/Madam,

      Subjected above is the issue created by Make My Trip. I have made booking for mentioned trip costing INR 1, 19, 375 through Make My Trip which has been cancelled by them when I contacted with Ms Shikha Tyagi (Executive - Outbound Operations) a day before departure of flight from New Delhi. They have given excuses like they were unable to contact me for Visa when my mail was active and right after that we tried mailing each other & was able to receive & send messages in corresponding mail boxes, Resulted into cancellation of my trip. As it is clear that negligence is from Make My Trip, they have back charged me cancellation charges for the trip amounting INR 20, 000 on 08.11.2013 & rest of balance amount has not been refunded yet after reminding them plenty times.

        AS PER REQUEST FROM THE CALL CENTER EXEC I HAVE CANCELLED THE TICKET BUT THEY REFUSE TO CONFIRM IF THE FULL AMOUNT WILL BE CREDITED

          I had deposited rs. 10, 000 for opening b2b portal with make my trip on dec 28th 2012, but since then im following up through emails and local offices of make my trip, i have not received any response, neither my b2b portal is opened nor the money is refunded, i provided all the documentary proofs such as chq. Deposit slips + account statements. But still no replies.

            My booking ID is NN[protected]. When I booked the flight, I was not made aware that i had to pay the cost for switching airport at new york for a schedule from Mumbai to Omaha (US). The cost of changing arports at New york is as high as 100 USD with taxi and inconvenience of moving around international luggages. i would like this to be brought to attention of consumer redressal forum in makemytrip first before taking elsewhere. to me this is unfair practice, since true cost of moving from point A to B is not presented.               Booking ID NN[protected]. I cancelled the flight about 20 days ago. I was promised a refund amount of Rs. 57000/- (approx). But I still do not have the money. I have contacted their customer care over 10 times, just to hear that my complaint will be resolved in 72 hours. Several 72 hours have passed since, but I do not have my money.

                I am forced to post my compliant here against MakeMyTrip as no response received from 10th Dec 2013 for my refund request.
                I see better response here in this site from Make My Trip surprisingly, and no response from compliant web link of MakeMytrip.com. Our booking id IN1309B9S182320 & Compliant lodged Reference ID is[protected] on 15th Dec.2013 and no response till today in spite of escalating to upper levels my self. Today I have escalated to top most Management level. and waiting for response. We had booked Dubai city tour as part of package but local agent refused saying this was not booked by make my trip on our behalf. However we had had made full payment with the city tour included as part of Itinerary. No response our reply on this query since Dec 10th on the same. This apart form the mental agony suffered during coordination with the MMT agents 2 months prior to departure. Below is the break up actions from my side during past 3 weeks or more.
                Waiting for response from makemytrip team since Dec 10th for my query.
                Waiting for refund as per query[protected] since Dec 15th 2013.
                Waiting for any response from [protected]@makemytrip.com from Dec 20th.
                Query[protected] was escalated by myself on Dec 23rd after no response.
                Waiting for for response from Customer delight team since Dec 23rd but no response.
                Today decided to escalate to next level I guess Management level as per Step 4.
                Hope someone from MMT responds.

                This query was solved on the 22nd Jan'15. Missed to change the status of this complaint to Resolved during then. Although a bit delayed response for above compliant, finally Make My Trip has agreed to give me refund back and additionally a voucher of a certain amount which can be used on a future travel. I believe this is a fair refund and would like thank Mr. Kunal Bariya, from the Customer Delight team for chasing this with the management on our behalf. Well appreciated ...

                  I bought ticket for two person for 24th March 2014 from MakeMyTrip.com for INR 10, 406. Beginning of December I received mail from MMT, that flights between Kolkata and Bangkok will not be operated anymore and that I have right to receive full refund. However no refund has been received. They just wasting my time on phone customer support and always getting automatic mail from them. My booking reference is: NN[protected] MakeMyTrip.com owes me INR 10, 406.

                  I guess this is one of your predefined messages which you sent very often.

                  I didn't pay for those ticket by bank transfer, so I don't think you made chargeback to my bank.

                  I found MakeMyTrip dealings very unprofessional, constantly sending automated messages and finding ways how to avoid refund for services you were not able to provide.

                  After searching on internet I found that many people have same problem as me. Some wasted hundreds hours on phone calls and emails messages with you without any result other than wasted time, still waiting more than 1 year.

                    Hi, The MakeMyTrip mobile website has a bug that causes all destination selections to default to "Mumbai" while booking tickets. I was a victim of this bug and have been unduly charged Rs 2000 as cancellation fee, even when I'm not at fault at all. I'd wanted to book a ticket from Delhi to Bangalore, and the website erroneously booked a ticket to Mumbai instead. After cancelling the ticket, I promptly requested MMT for a refund of cancellation fee, and upon their request, even gave them additional business by booking the Delhi-Bangalore trip through their website instead of some other service provider. It has been 10 days now, and despite my providing all necessary details (including technical steps to reproduce the website bug) and beyond, MMT is refusing to refund the cancellation charges of Rs. 2000 even when the fault entirely rests in the design of their mobile website. I am fed up of moronic to-and-fro template-based communications from MMT customer care and will take this issue to the Hon'ble customer court if MMT doesn't honor my completely genuine request.                         Its been more than 10 days that i have escalated a complaint regarding the tickets that i have booked with make my trip! I have booked around 6 tickets from make my trip out of which 3 tickets are wrongly dated! I have been attaching the screen shots which show that there was a problem with site! But what i am getting in return is just an email stating your issue will be resolved within 24-48 hours from different people, and those 24-48 hours looks like never ending from last 10 days! I am coming to India just for a month so i have limited days if there will be date error on my tickets everything will be effected!! Very disappointed with the customer service from makemytrip. I have send screenshots to a manager who was on call with me and he agreed that this was a site glitch and he assured that tickets will be rectified within 24 hours, but again these 24 hours are never ending! i have all the complaints screen shots and also the screen shots of when i have escalated the complaints and what responds i have got! i have been making international calls for getting this sorted out but no help! This is mental torture, all the excitement for visiting India has turned into tension and more tensions, Thanks to makemytrip for all this!                           i have booked my trip from make my trip for thailand.i have paid full money to them even for my daughter who is 5 and half year old.i have contacted there travel agent Mr.Jaskaran Bala.who has ditched me everytime.first time he ditched me where he promised me cash 6% on total amount where he refused to give me on total amount and just paid Rs.2500 only.and then when i reached bangkok he promised me private cab pickup where again i have been ditched and picked by sharing cab and i had to wait two hours at the airport for the rest of people.when i reached pattaya and checked in the hotel and i got to know breakfast is not included where he has promised me.he changed my hotel saying upgrading me in 4 star hotel without informing me breakfast would not be included in that and there i had to pay 1500 baht for breakfast. and then third day i had been committed city tour and we have been taken to two temple only..and when we checked in the hotel i had been told queen bed where hotel does not have any queen bed at all in bangkok and in pattaya.i had to stay in a room which bed was very small and was not at all fit for couple with child.and they have sent a cab to pick me up for the airpor on day 5th which was supposed to come on day-6 as my staying was 5 nights.and they were forcing me to pay for the pickup for 6th day as make my trip had asked them pick on 5th day.i had shot many mails to make my trip but no response came from there side.they have spoiled my trip and it was sheer harassment during my trip.request you to pls help me as how come make my trip canm behave like this and give this mental harassment. u can contact me on [protected].vinay garg

                            I had worst experience with MMT, i have booked hotel on 2 dec 2013, and i cancelled it on 3rd dec 13 due to cancelled my trip, still i did't receive my refund amount.. i don;t know what they are doing... if asked their costumer care they are telling your amount has been refunded, but still i did't received it.. and they given one RRN to refer the bank, i asked that too, but no use, my bank saying that no transaction happened between this...                               I am staying in US for sometime and I booked round trip tickets through travel agent for my family to travel India. For several reasons(Bad weather, child health, traffic jam etc..) i couldn't make it to airport on time. This can happen to anyone. I called my agent and requested for next available date to travel and ready to pay penalty and fare difference. Agent says that dates cant be changed after no show and also money is not refundable. I am not asking not to refund the ticket/Money, I am requesting for date change. I don't see "Date change is not possible after no show" in any form of agent communication during ticket booking. Agent knows that i am not informed about it. Agent claims that British airways is not changing the dates so i cant do it. I don;t know what is going on there.. I am not able to talk to British airways for the same reason because they are asking agent code to proceed further and asking me to contact Agent for any information. I requested Agent a lot and spend lot of time, but agent is not ready to help in any ways. I paid $3000+ for round ticket.Now i am not able to change travel dates and can't make use of the return ticket as well. I have seen the similar situations before with my friends and many others. No one had the similar issue, Somehow everyone had got different travel date with their agents or airlines.My friends are surprised to know my situation and the way makemytrip is responding. I would like to complain about MakeMyTrip cheating the customers. I can provide necessary proofs..

                                Our family had planned a holiday trip in August and accordingly made Bookings right through and through including Air, Hotels and Transport. Our journey was to begin on 28th Dec’13 with our flight to Ahmadabad for which a confirmed E-ticket was issued by MMT after FULL payment was received by them. Last month to my horror I discovered that the flight for which I am holding the ticket does not exist and I am left holding a bogus / fake ticket issued by MMT. Mind you MMT was not even aware of the mess-up till I contacted them with my problem. The matter was highlighted to MMT Customer Complaint department and even till date they have not been able to tell me who owns the responsibility of my situation. Have spoken with at least 6 people in MMT and none of them is able to tell me the reason, except shifting the blame on Airlines. Adding fuel to the fire, they are so insensitive, and have no respect or understanding of the importance of the TIME and DATE. Being a Travel Agency, it is expected of them to understand the importance of travel arrangement made by any one 4 months in advance with full payment. Any shifting of Time and Date of Travel will lead to rippling effect on all further bookings of travel and stay. Can anyone suggest a remedy to MMT ‘s conduct

                                  I have booked a ticket from “Calicut” to “Qatar (Doha)” for my friend Mr. Baiju Thayyulathil using my HDFC credit card through makemytrip .com by online. The ticket was booked through the help of “makemytrip .com” representative and she gave me a booking ID (IN1311B2S101967) and through that I have paid the money via my credit card. During the initial discussion she didn’t say anything about “non-refundable” ticket. I have approached Make my trip team to cancel the ticket due to some personal reason and they said it the amount can’t be returned and after the long discussion and he said to me that “if the first representative is not said you that this is a non-refundable ticket then we will refund the amount after our quality team analyze the audio conversation with you and our representative” on Monday 2nd December 2013 I have received call from another representative and she said they are ready to refund the amount. Yesterday I have received an email with details and the refund amount was only 1, 702 and the total amount was 9, 902. This is really a clear case of cheating people.                                   I have received a call from one person who introduced that he is from makemytrip.com and his name is "Kumar". and he said makemytrip.com is ready to refund the amount to my account and he was seeking for my card number and i have given my card number, the second question for CVV number and expiry date. I think 99% is a fraud call if any makemytrip.com guys can reply on this and that will be appreciated.

                                    I booked return flight through make my trip for the kingfisher airlines as mentioned below, however we could not complete the travel as kingfisher was banned to fly or work. when I called make my trip they said that since kingfisher is not resuming their flights, I can cancel the tickets and i will get a refund. so I cancelled the ticker on the phone and was given the following information: Cancellation Date : 22 Nov '12, 13:03 hrs Ref No: IN1211R0093809 Cancellation Penalty: Rs. 0 Refund Amount: Rs. 6039 I have called approximately 50 times and wasted my money and time on the phone just to hear that they are in the process of my refund, now its more than a year that they have been promising me the same thing however my hard earned money has not been refunded yet. lately I have been hearing and seeing this in news paper that Yatra.com, IRCTC, & makemytrip.com are refunding the money but in my case they have not yet. I do not know why are they treating me so bad as a customer even though I have been a frequent customer but now they are leaving a really worst taste in the customer's mouth.                                       I had booked a cab on 02 Nov, to drop me at Airport, Delhi (MMT booking ID NC[protected]). They had send me a cab. But taxi driver has driven to railway station, Delhi. I had said him to drop me at airport. He had refused & abused me. I was with my family at the time. It was 4:30 am in morning. I had called MMT customer care and put a complaint. MMT executive had suggested me to go to airport and pay full payment. They had told me that I have to pay full payment including extra miles which cab had driven. He told me that they will be refund that extra money. I am getting late so I had put that complaint and go to airport. I had paid the full amount to cab driver. I had also said him for invoice but he has refused. Any one from MMT had not contacted me after this. I had made a written complaint and emailed to cab provider/MMT. Now MMT had contacted me but refused to refund my extra money because they are saying we are not cab owner. They are also saying that cab vendor are not in touch. MMT asking me for the bill, which their cab driver had not given to me. I am very puzzled and request you all to not use MMT services.

                                      I had already contacted MMT several times, but WORTHLESS. I am pasting some comments below made by MMT on facebook page -

                                      MakeMyTrip.com: Hi Dhiraj, We have checked the information and we have already asked you to provide us the bill/receipt for the payment you made to the driver directly. We have no issues in refunding you the extra amount you paid to driver, however we will not be able to initiate any refund without the proof of payment.Unfortunately without the same we cannot process the refund.

                                      Dhiraj Kumar: Please collect the invoice copy from your cab Driver. I think this is very easy for you. I have already informed about your driver's behavior. I had reached at airport about 1 hour delay. When I was in wrong way, I had complained to your customer care two times. Your cab Driver had stoped car near Delhi railway station. I had informed your customer care executive and he told me to pay full amount . Extra will be refunded! Now please contact your cab Driver… collect the invoice copy and refund me the extra amount… that's it.

                                      MakeMyTrip.com: Hi Dhiraj, We would not be able to refund the money without the invoice/receipt.

                                      Dhiraj Kumar: Why you don't collect that Bill copy with your cab Driver? It is easy to check my payments. Please check the receipt copy of your cab Driver.

                                      MakeMyTrip.com: Hi Dhiraj, We would only entertain the copy received from the customer not from the driver. If you can provide the same, we would be able to process the credit.

                                      Dhiraj Kumar: No issue, I am arranging the bill and provide you here very soon. I have already contacted your cab Driver Md Moin Ph# [protected] cab number - DL-01-RT-2373. I will show you Bill. If you want more then I can also show cctv footage @ airport where he has dropped me, my call locations where he had driven & recorded voice of your customer care executive in consumer court.
