I have taken max Bupa health Insurance policy in July 2011. My customer id is 49778. In the first year, my total premium for Heartbeat gold policy (5 Lakh+15 Lakh) in which my wife and myself were covered was Rs. 15, 180. In the second year I made a premium payment of Rs. 15, 699 for the same cover. In 2013, I had requested inclusion of my new born daughter and the premium subsequently increased to Rs. 22, 087. Now, next month my policy is up for renewal and today I had contacted MaxBupa's customer care to know my due premium this year. To my shock, they have increased my due premium to Rs. 26, 400 (approximately). This is a steep increase of about 20% in a single year. On being asked about the reasons for such a steep increase, I was informed that my policy has been automatically upgraded which requires me to pay a higher premium. My complaint is that I was never contacted about this upgrade. The customer care says that they have sent an email 90 days back informing about this upgrade. I am sorry but I did not receive any communication from maxBupa intimating about this. If at all they have sent, it must have been some email that looks like a promotional mail. Even so, why was my policy upgraded without my consent? I joined MaxBupa after assessing a plan vis-a-vis its cost. A nominal increase in premium is understandable but such a steep increase is incorrect. I do not want the associated benefits that the company claims to provide with the upgraded version. I am not ready to pay that extra cost. Why is it being enforced upon me? Why do I not have the option of retaining my original version of plan? This is brazen cheating and creating a lot of issues for me as I now have to look at options that provides desired benefits at the costs that fits my pocket? Will the Max Bupa Insurance company ensure that my concerns are heard? I hope for a reply from you and a positive redressal to my grievance.     The company has issued a renewal notice requesting me for payment for the medical insurance. My net premium amount was Rs. 96400.00 and the gross premium would be the service tax and education cess and secondary and higher education cess would be leived on it. This year they are saying that the premium amount is 11741 inclusive of all taxes. When i have asked for the break up they are saying that gross premium amount is 105xx and service tax and other cess as applicable. In my certificate the break up of gross premium is very clear with the net premium and the associated service taxes and other cess being leived. I want to clarify my doubt does the gross premium is inclusive of service tax or exclusive of service tax as per this company?

      i had applied for Family Health Insurance with your company 28 feb 2014 Through
      Surender nath number [protected]. Earlier points he told me will signing
      paper :- 1.No medical Test 2.No money will take from your account until your
      insurance date starts 3.with in 2 0r 3 days you will get your policy in
      mail 4.very Polite and pleasing personalty 5.on miss call give call back
      Change after signing paper and given check only
      2 days later 1.yes medical test required 2.company rule that your
      payment has to be take before processing medical test (Earlier he has
      refused for this ) 3.For last few days telling story tomorrow you will
      get your policy or medical done (Nothing till now
      ) 4.for 3 Lac policy company rule is you have visit medical center
      (Earlier doctor will visit to your home for medical test ) 5 No
      misbehaving and shouting on phone if i am checking any thing . 6. when
      calling now he is not picking up call when regular 3 to
      4 time than only they pick phone .

These nitwits have been silent all along.Why? Warming their aasses on the chairs for nothing?? And customer care english?         My daughter had not any ulcer, Only infection in intestine and she recovered in in six days in hospital . my question is that if a person have ulcer then he can"t recover in six days every doctor knows it. doctor who cured my daughter cofessed it and gave in written on thier letter head that it is infection But maxbupa is not confessed .bupa rejected claim on last stage of hospital discharge bupa don't believe in doctor statement who take degree of MBBS from health ministery of india. bupa doctor are above over world. maxbupa doctor are very intelligent and other doctor are fool and mad bupa believe it. policy no.[protected]. m.           Sir, I would like to tell you that i am a customer of Maxbupa Health Insurance company my Policy Number is "[protected]" named with"ASHOK KUMAR TULSIDAS MIGLANI" and i am so dissatisfied with the working process of MAXBUPA HEALTH INSURANCE company. I would like to tell you that when the patient has taken admission in hospital then i have intimated to that company and my intimation number is "578992" at that time that company has not intimated me regarding the hospital that it comes under black list.I have provided the proper details of the hospital with it.The company has provided me the claim number and the number is"70059". Rather then that next day MAXBUPA HEALTH INSURANCE companies executive visited the hospital at that time he has not intimated regarding the hospital comes under black list. After that the discharge was made from the hospital.. Next day MAXBUPA HEALTH INSURANCE companies executive came to house for the verification purpose and asked many questions from the patient..I would like to tell you that we were unaware regarding the hospital and the list would keeps on changing.. So i would like to ask you that if a company would behave with customers in this manner then it would really creates a bad impact in the industry..             The Policy details are as follows:

            Policy Number: [protected]

            First PremiumPayment Date ( Date of Cheque Clearance) : 24th Nov 2012
            Issue date – 6th Jan 2013

            A Quick Background:
            The necessary formalities around the Policy in reference was initiated in Novemeber 2012which included a medical test and a payment of INR 26, 098. At the time of the medical test, it was told that the test for the spouse, was not required and hence the sample was not collected the day it was collected for myself. Subsequently, the need for dependent to go through the test was brought up too. Following all this, there was a delay in issuance of the policy which was eventually issued on 6th Jan 2013.

            Meanwhile, there was a change in my health status...following minor gastrict symptomps during a normal check up on 4th/5th Jan 2013, I was diagnosed GIST (Gastro IntestinalStromal Tumor) on 5th Jan. Following a scary situation, I was immediately operated upon on the 7th Jan 2013.

            Max Bupa Policy wa snot, and have not been so far, used for any claims.

            Following the surgery, I have been on a daily dose of Glevec 400 mg and the subsequent CT Scans ( 3 of them) have shown no metabolic activities indicating that the disease is not active and has not recurred.

            Post Surgery, we put a claim of very minimal amount, may be just 10K, just to ensure that they acknowledge the disease to which Max Bupa did a doctor investigation, several rounds of discussion happened, they even meet the doctors. however we were never updated with the progress. Post one year, MaxBupa agent followed up on a daily basis to renew the policy that is when we asked them to update the document with the health status. they still insisted to renew the policy, even gave a grace period on 1 month. they did another round of investigation. we finally renewed the policy on last day of grace period. post that Max Bupa turminated the policy stating non-disclosure of information.

            reason being " retrosternal pain 7-8 months" as indicated in the first CT report (attached again): I would like to mention again that the 'pain' was more of a 'discomfort' which was so normal that we never felt the need to visit a doctor. Conditions like these are very common and normal. We mentioned about "minor & occasional gastric" symptoms but it was not seen as anything "abnormal" to be mentioned in the form.

            this is just the co-incident that we had a medical situation right after the policy is taken. MaxBupa dishonoring this saying "non-disclosure" of information is not acceptable, especially when we are not claiming maxbupa for the surgery...

            MaxBupa team has been working on this Since Feb 2013...ever since we updated them about the status. they kept the policy active for one y
            ear, even insisted on renewal which we did at the end of grace period. post which the policy was terminated since we insisted to update the document with revised health status which was happened during teh policy period...i just want to mention a simple point here - we have two other corporate policy, we had made no claim. our intention of informing you on 5th Feb 2014 was to update you on the status change...no claim was done. we even helped teh investigation team with all details even though we were going thru a tough time.

            Also the reason for non disclosure given by MaxBupa is "7 months of Pain"", , , please note, had we know the deasease was existing we would not have waited for the policy to be issued. pain was minor, we thought it was due to bad eating habit/ Acidity problem. that is why we visited a Gastro Dr in Jan...and every thing happened on next day...one test followed by other. MaxBupa team should definitely speak to teh first Dr we met as he very well understands that it was a surprise for us on that day. Also even on the test day, we were insisting can we not do th etest as there is not much issue, may be continue with medicine for sometime and see how it goes...

            if you really want to genuinely understand thr truth then speak to the two doctors, ...but if you just want to avoid continuing with the policy then you can stick to your STUIPID FRAUD findings. i will still keep asking you why nothing was updated after your investigation in Feb 2013,
            what was suddenly changed in 2014. this question is very vital for me.

              Dear All, I am forced to write my complaint in open forum and thank you for giving me this platform. I am a Senior Citizen holding MAXBUPA Health Insurance for over 2 years paying a premium @ rate what MAX BUPA increases every year, hoping that will come to my help when I need. I was advised by Doctor CATARACT operations for both eyes, after reviewing the policy and also confirmed with a call center about I going ahead with operations and MAX BUPA terms and condition are met, the answer was given me YES but when I proceed with the claim process for Rs. 27000.00 companies out rightly rejected the claim. I don't know how I can run from pillar to post for this claim being not kept well. I tried to write many emails and also wrote to the grievances Redressal team but no positive response. I request for your assistance how can I proceed, and had a waiting period 2 years as hold period.

                  I have bought MAX BUPA Health insurance policy one year back. That time whatever queries they ask we answer 100% correctly. And on that basis they have issue policy with their terms and conditions which disease not be covered.
                  After policy six months stomach pain started so went to dr he said stone problem but it stop by dr tablet. and in April 2013 it started again strongly so we went to dr again he did sonography and after seeing report he said we have to admit for operating. so we admit in hospital. he did operation. after that i submit all reports to MAX BUPA for claim now they are saying we hide this disease at the time of policy.

                    Inordinate delay in refunding of the premium amount of Rs.21863/-
                    paid for online policy
                    (Application No.: 429483 -refund of premium (Transaction Id MIDB[protected])

                    I had applied for online health insurance policy on 21.5.2013.However, after a day or two, I got a call from one lady representative of your company from Delhi conveying that the company could not issue the policy for some medical reason. I immediately asked her to arrange for the refund of the entire premium amount to my account with IDBI bank ([protected]) as I was not interested in the policy any more at all. She assured me to arrange for the refund within 7 working days as per the company’s policy and rules. By that logic, I should have got the refund by 30.5.2013. However, with great anguish and disappointment, I like to bring to your notice that today i.e 3.6.2013 is the 10th day and I am still waiting anxiously for my hard earned money from Max Bupa.

                    Meanwhile, in desperation, I contacted your official in Delhi Mr.Gautam Singh who too assured that the refund will happen in 7 days. Then I further contacted Mr. Vijay Sharma in your Mumbai office to help me. He too gave assurance of faster refund but nothing happened. I also sent mail and requested over phone to another official in Delhi Mr. Amit Singh. He said that they will take still more time to look into the matter and then arrange for the refund.

                    I also lodged my grievance on your website, also with your customer care, and later with Mr Gargi Sahu (Chief Manager-,customer services). But I am thoroughly pained with no visible concrete action of refunding my hard earned money by Max Bupa. (Copies of email correspondences attached).

                    In view of the inordinate delay from your company, I now demand quick refund along with interest @ 15% for the delayed period and for causing harassment.

                    I thank your company in non granting me the policy in initial stage itself thus saving me from future most inefficient and unprofessional service, total disregard and callousness to the needs/grievances of common customers like me.

                    Could you please look into the matter and make responsible the officials who have caused this delay. Could you please sensitise your people to be more professional, more humane, more caring and most prompt and going extra mile to address the concerns of the customers.

                    The entire episode has made me very wary of approaching any insurance company for my health insurance policy. I shudder with fear and think what would be your response time, and what would be your attitude while dealing with some genuine customer who comes for claim/settlement.

                    I am writing this letter with anguish and pain but also with some dim hope that some senior, responsible, sensitive professional from Max Bupa Insurance Co. will look into the matter personally, and address my concerns and arrange for quick refund with 15% interest for the inordinate, avoidable,unparddonable delay and causing mental agony to me.

                    i am also a victim of maxbupa callous customer service. i sent an escalation email to gargi shsahu but received a failure notification since the recipients mail box is full. What is really worrisome is that the escalation point email ids are not displayed on maxbupa website, they are hidden from public view, that speaks something about transparency. And in terms of service, the reps are totally insensitive. This is another company which big promises but faltering when it comes to delivery. Utterly disappointed.

                      have a Health insurance policy issued by your company (Policy no.*******201300) on my mothers name and have been facing issues right from the day the policy document was issued

                      My primary issue of forged signature on the policy that was done by your agent Mrs Sheela Jain - DEL0112951 & Mr Shakul Goyal. I had given my mother's date of birth as 24 Jan 1954 in the form, where in your agent has changed the year to 1955 in the policy document & forged my signature (Snapshot Attached). Result is wrong health card issued on my mothers name with incorrect dob details. Have tried reaching your agent multiple times to correct the health card but they have stopped responding to my calls and I have not received response from the company on the same. I am very dissappointed with Max for keeping such reluctant agents who are very unfair when it comes for customer service,and when they need policy they call us as many times as they can and also visit us "N" number of times regardless of time schedules. It has been over 3 months now that he has stopped responding to my calls, so I had to call the customer care and ask for help.

                      Also, Signature forgery is a crime, hence I would request you to please take this matter seriously, else i have to take it to futher higher authorities. Today they have changed the date of birth, tomorrow they can claim the amount as well. Please help.

                        I bought a Max Bupa policy for myself and my Husband in February through their online system and paid Rs.14716/- (Fourteen Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixteen Rupees only) online instantly. I Received a Confirmation of my money submitted with Payment Reference No: MICI[protected] and WEB REFERENCE NO: WNB[protected]. My Application Form no:[protected] for Heartbeat Gold 500000 2 Adults with Policy No: [protected] on February 26th 2013. I kept following up with the Customer care for the status of my policy but none of them gave me a concrete reply. They said my application is in process. I emailed, called did everything but now the thinsg have gotten out of hands, neither i have received a single call from the so called reputed company nor have i received any written communication. It has been 2 months since and i have no clue what am i supposed to do. Have they eaten my money ? do they have no shame to either reject or accept my policy or atleast communicate with me. I am a senior manager at a very reputed company and absolutely do not deserve this attitude. I shall take this matter to the court of law if my problem is not solved within 48 hours.

                          Am very frustrated with this company. we did 2 policies recently on my fathers name () which are still under freelook period. out of which i want to cancel 1 policy with policy number[protected] of Rs 140495 but the branch is not ready to process my cancellation. i have been trying to cancel this in the branch since last 15 days but nobody seems to be responding and gives us one or the other reasons/excuses whereas the freelook expires today (6th April 2013) also had couple of conference calls with customer care rep and the branch agent. the rep tried to help and advised the branch to assist to cancel but still the branch gives reasons like Link failure etc etc. if this is how customers are treated, i would definitly not maintain any relation with this company and would cancel both the policies. i would definitely not sit quitely and let my hard earned money go waste. I would take this upto IRDA (Insurance Regulation and Development Authority), Govt of India

                            i would like to take your help in getting my refund of money after they declined my policy, from maxbupa insurance company. After numerous emails and calls none of the executive or representative has addressed my problem. Though continuos efforts were made from may 2011 to get the refund then i was sent a cheque already expired . The first complaint was made by calling maxbupa call centre on 8th february 2013, then the first email was sent on 3rd march 2013, then a written complaint was sent on 11th march 2013.
                            As a matter of fact none of the representative in the mean time contacted me by any mean till date. The only reply i used to get was from customer service that they apologise and they have told the concerned department about it.
                            I request you to kindly take the matter in your interest and help me getting my money back.
                            Reference to the letter dated[protected] for the policy proposal no[protected] along-with refund of the cheque in favor of Manav Sachdeva(Myself), cheque No- 757529 of Rs 9431 drawn on the HongKong And Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd dated[protected] , which was received by me on[protected] at 01:17 PM through Blue Dart via waybill ref no- [protected].
                            In this connection it is stated that this cheque was already expired on[protected] on the date of receipt . A complaint was registered to Mr.Prashant (customer care executive) vide ref no-220511 dated[protected] at 7:00 PM , on the toll free customer care no[protected]. But till date no action has been taken by max bupa insurance company limited & my amount of Rs.9431 is not refunded by the company since the date of cancellation of policy i.e 1st week of May 2011.
                            The the proposal was declined by the Insurance company in the 1st week of May 2011 the very next day of my proposal the amount of Rs.9431 is not refunded till date that causes mental agony/harassment to me.
                            In view of the above ,now i request you to help me to get refund of my amount of Rs.9431 alongwith penal interest @18% P.A & Compensation of Rs.25000 for harassment & mental agony to me.

                            With all due respect, I’m writing this letter to you, due to the Non- resolving situation. Till date( 15th April 2013)

                            My father has taken a Health Insurance Policy from Max Bupa –Health Insurance on date: - 23/12/2011
                            For his medical contingency, but now he’s facing too many problems after the compilation of one year of the policy.

                            Problems we are facing at present with Max Bupa Policy No: - [protected]

                            1. Without any prior information the Annual Premium has been Increased
                            Last year Premium Was Rs. 38, 288/- and New Premium Rs.41, 845/-( My parents were not informed earlier at the time taking the policy, that the premium will increase every year.)

                            Increase of Rs.3, 557/- under Annual Premium payment.

                            2. He is getting calls from the Renewal team of Max-Bupa, to pay the new increased Premium amount and the company officials are not ready to give a justifiable reason for the Increase in premium.

                            My Parent are getting unnecessary harassed, without any cause. More over the health cover is already expired, and my parents are without any health Insurance plan/cover. God forbid if some medical emergency happens, then who’ll be responsible.

                            Kindly Help us out under this situation, and please do guide us, that what best can be done under this situation, we were not informed earlier that, every year we have to pay an Increase Amount on our Max Bupa- Medical Policy. This is very un-fair on Max Bupa’s Part, that they are misleading their loyal customers, and harassing a Senior Citizen of this country.

                            It's been month of chasing the customer care executive, after that we think, that we must write to you, get our problem solved or at least some one should listen, that what we are going through?

                                I am Sasikumar R, Customer ID [protected], Customer since 19/04/2012, have an insurance coverage with max bupa health insurance. I own a silver card.
                                I had undergone treatment in mallige hospital, bangalore for back pain on 11/09/2012 and had sent all the necessary documents and claim form on 12/09/2012 through courier. Till date, I have not got any communication in this regard. In the first few days, the representative, Mr. Nagesh from the company, was in contact with me and on 4/12/2012 he told me that I had to scan and mail my ID proof and the membership card, which I did.
                                After that there hasn't been any communication from his side. Whenever I try to call him, he never picks up the call and when I try from some other number, he pretends as if it is somebody else. This is really shocking to me because I was totally dependent on this reimbursement. My treatment was done with the loan amount from a friend of mine.
                                I have totally lost faith in such insurance companies, please help me.

                                    i m forced to post put this complain online as my health insurance company max bupa , after repeated calls and repeated assurance by them not refunding my premium amount.
                                    last year i got medical insurance done by max bupa company for me n my wife of 3 lakh.

                                    on may 2012 at time of renewal of policy as i wnt to include my daughter (7 months ) in policy and also want to increase my sum assured i contacted max bupa customer care , and i was asked to deposit cheque of said amount.
                                    i handed over tht cheque to executive of bupa.i had a conversation with some doctor from bupa regarding my family health and previous health history .

                                    i was told that soon i will got a call regarding my family health checkup.
                                    i waited a month but not received any call . when i contacted customer care on june 2012 i was told ur family is insured with increased amount as i requested and soon health check up call be arranged as Dr may be busy, but i received no call from bupa for next 15 days .
                                    i again contacted customer care and they said i will got a back call soon.
                                    from june to sept i repeatedly call them n got same answer -- dnt worry ur family is insured .

                                    shockingly in month of July when i call them for med exam of family i got to know tht my policy is declined due to my wife's some previous health problem which i hv already declared on may 2012.
                                    so i requested them to return my premium amount , and they said i will get it in a week .
                                    after repeated calls and mails i still not received my money back .
                                    points of my complaints are
                                    1. why i was not informed about decline of my policy by bupa
                                    2. why i hv to call them , not received any cal from there side
                                    3. as now everything is clear , why not refunding my amount
                                    4 who will be responsible if my family got any med prob from may 2012 till sept 2012, as i was told repeatedly by bupa customer cae that my family is insured with increased amount o

                                      I have availed family floater mediclaim policy from Max Bupa (Policy # [protected]) which was renewed in July'2012. As part of renewal scheme, family health check up was complementary, which was done on 30/09/2012. The reports of which were sent by Concerned Pathology directly to Max Bupa saying that I shall get the copy from them.

                                      Hence after 2 days I dropped a request for copy of health check reports at companies toll free number (complaint # 163756). Till date even after promise of resolving query within 48 hours over phone, the company has made me call them at least 4 times till yesterday afternoon but did not send me any copy of reports.

                                      The companies which did not fulfill their commitments, I feel shall, refund my amount along with interest. Because if they cannot fulfill such small requests, how come they will effectively resolve our claims in future, I doubt.

                                      Their call centre is also little funny. They put your call on hold and done come back on line for several minutes. Twice at least I had to drop call after waiting for more than 5 minutes, while representative was retrieving data.

                                      I am surprised with such attitudes of an insurance company, which is nowadays supposed to be one of most service oriented industry in our country.

                                        I purchased a family health insurance policy from MAX BUPA

                                        Date 25 April 2012.

                                        Paid INR 5649/

                                        Reference id is [protected].

                                        1st June 2012 my wife was suffering from Tified Fever doctor advised her to admit in hospital. Hospital’s TPA sent the insurance details to MAX pupa but the denied the claim saying that ……. (Please read below line)

                                        “Any treatment taken during the first 30 days since date of commencement of the policy, unless the treatment needed is the result of an Accident or Emergency, is not covered. Hence cashless cannot be approved.”



                                        Problem:

                                        It was more then 30 days and Tified Fever comes under emergency treatment.

                                        Before going to hospital I confirmed with them that I will get the cashless treatment but later on they just denied.

                                        MY policy documents sent to me after 3 months.

                                        Wrong and fake hospital list been shared with me while buying the policy (I have the mail record from them)

                                        They don’t have any document which explains that in which circumstance claim will approve/denial.

                                        Please raise my voice against Max bupa as they cheating innocent customer.
