I have a mediclaim of max bupa from last 2 yrs. Day before yesterday i felt problem in my chest and went to paras hospital in gurgaon. After all check ups hospital discharged me yesterday and filed the bill to max bupa at 4 p.m. Now its been a whole new day i am spending in hospital and claim is not settled yet. I has to spend an extra night in hospital only because the people of max bupa who are carrying out my process left the process immediately when it reached 9 p.m knowing that somebody is waiting for discharge in hospital. Today in morning i asked my hospital tpa deppt. That why it getting that much late is discharge. Thay said that from last 1 day max bupa is negotiating on the bill amount with the hospital. This is very shameful of max bupa that knowing there customer is spending an extra night in hospital they are still hungry for the discount. I am still in hospital waiting for the approval and may be call polish in an hour to settle with max bupa. Its my 1st and worst experience with max bupa and will never suggest anybody to buy there services.

      Never go for maxbupa health insurance ...i requests them to add my new born baby but they say I have to pay short subscription fee however my policy is silver heart and covers 4 members .. After talking to their customer service they says I should have declared before renewal.. Now the fact is will delivery happen according to renewal how illogical. Suddenly they increased the renewal fee from 9500 to 10600 which i paid already. and now they are asking fee for adding new baby. While I signed it up that have not said about this but now they are asking to read terms and condition which is 100 pages long .. I have cancelled it if your policy is not too old get it canceled or transfer to other company under portability.         Respected Sir, I have taken Health Insurance policy in MaxBupa for my Father and Mother on November 24, 2013. Total i have paid approxmately 60000 + rupees for 2 years. My father has taken eye operation 1st year after 6 months in chennai hospital. I said to MaxBupa Executive same thing, His name is Srinivas Gadde, he said to me, we can claim that amount. you can submit total bills. So accordingly, i gave him total bills and he submitted those. after 1 month total policy is terminated. When i asked him, your father has diabetes since 25 years long, But when i'm taking policy i told him, my father and mother has diabetes patient. At that time he said no problem, any one can take the policy. The Problem is Insurance policy is terminated because of my father having diabetes, I intimated him when i'm taking that policy. Now he is saying "your not intimated me" and some time "i forgot now", its done since a long time. He is saying like that. My doubt is Is company doesn't check policy holders body?. when i'm taking policy, at that time must and should MaxBupa company need to do some tests? and that policy holder is eligible person or not they are checked at that time only. Here my doubt is with doing any tests how they accepting this policy? Like this they are cheating more people in society. Please take action on this. I've lost my money, time. we are middle class people, i know the value of that money. The Health Insurence Executives are cheating some many people for their commission purpose. we are saving that money since 2 years onwards. But because of wrong information form the Executives, we lossing my total money, time and health also. If they tell proper information at the time Opening the policy and if they do all the tests at the time of opening the policy then no problem. Please take action on this and i have lost money, time and health, Like me so many people are suffering in society. some documents are with me (Policy documents) now, but unable to convert those documents, if you need that for further discussion i can drop mail now.           I had taken a health insurance policy and after the medical check up, I got a cal that the policy cannot be processed further due to medical reasons. The company denies to refund the complete premium paid and charges for medical check up. I should be eligible to get the complete refund of premium paid as the health check up was mandatory and also such terms in the policy were not intimated prior to taking the policy.

            I have taken a policy for a sum assured of Rs 19 lacs (Family floater) last year and don't have any claim as on date. At the time of renewing the second year policy, I was shocked that premium was increased 25 % from the base cost without intimating me. While contacting the customer cell, they told me in written that they have already intimating me and forwarded me an enclosure.After going through their enclosure I found that it is a common mail addressing about macro environment not to my policy specific or neither addressed by policy holder name or number. Therefore I raised the issue to the second level of grievance escalation to respond me the below points (with a good intention before renewing the policy) 1. Why you have not intimated the policy holder about the change in premium or variant when I had signed a contract? Please revert. 2.Further in your general correspondence (enclosure) you had mentioned that silver variant shall have increase in 0 to 5% of premium on every year, if so, then how you had increased 25 % for me?3. You have informed that there change in version with more flexibility and additional benefits. However for Silvervariant there is nothing other than option of room of Rs 3000 or shared room and more sum assured (which is nominal ). I don’t think it is justified for the increase in premium amount of Rs 4500/- per year!!! 4. Please arrange me to send the premium calculation (Approximate amount ) for next 20 years .so that I can plan my financial accordingly.Upon this compliant i have received numerous call to but none them able to address the real issue. One Mr John (indentified as manager) told me that your policy will increase 20 thousand per year “Are interested to renew? It given me a clue that company is not interested me to renew the policy.After a while I received a SMS saying your query is resolved (standard message) thanks for contacting us ... Once again I pursued the matter to next level .However none of them bothered to close the issue amicably. I thank God that I have not hospitalized and given pain to my family members to beg them for passing the claim before that I CAME TO KNOW THEIR SERVICE LEVEL. Though I CAN’T STOP THEM OR PERSUE THEM FOR REFUND OF PAID PREMIUM BUT I MAY SPREAD M/s Max Bupa is fraud company.

            Still issue had not closed ...please don't ever show off that your company is prompt in Services .I had raised few of the quires ...for that still I havn't received any satisfactory reply rather receiving standard cut and paste replies ...

              I have filed a complaint against Max Bupa in IRDA. I am also posting here so that others know and do not buy policy from Max Bupa. My complaint is that Max Bupa mis-sells products by saying premium prices will increase very small amount. However, they increase premium by 26% as they know people do not wnat to switch health insurance so as not to lose out on the initial 4 year pre-existing clause window!!! 1. MaxBupa called and confirmed that based on recordings of our conversation in 2012, the sales and customer care team had mis-sold the product and lied to me about increases in price. They had said price increase of 1-2%/year while Max Bupa increased it by 26.5% in 2014. 2. I would urge IRDA to require Max Bupa to specify in bold that they policy premiums can increase by 26.5% or more in a year even when no claims are made. Max Bupa can just change some product features and force customers to pay more. 3. Max Bupa as an organisation is mis-selling products and indulging in price gouging. I would request IRDA to take punitive action and impose a significant fine on Max Bupa so that the organisation does not indulge in such wrong actions. 4. While Max Bupa acknowledged lying to customer and mis-selling, they refused to provide any compensation. I would again request IRDA to take action against Max Bupa to compensate not only me but also all other customers who have been cheated and mis-sold health insurance by Max Bupa. 5. Finally, I have no-intention of renewing the policy with Max Bupa. I do NOT want to be associated with an organisation that is UNETHICAL and DISHONEST.

                Hi, I need details on the recent exclusion made in our policy on the "FALSE CLAIM" of Mr Pradeep Kumar Gupta being wrongly addressed as Hypertensive. There is NO REPORT, NO DIAGNOSIS made by your partner lab saying that he is "Hypertensive" then WHY AND HOW has Max Bupa made this ASSUMPTION, and created an exclusion in the policy? I spoke with Dr Manoj Mishra on[protected] for 40 minutes (call details were recorded and call was initiated by Max Bupa on 11:05am today) and he "acknowledged" and "confirmed" on the recorded message on the phone that the Diagnosis made by Lab did NOT say that my father was hypertension patient. Without any "DIAGNOSIS" OR "PROGNOSIS" OR "FORMULA" OR "REPORT", how can you create this exclusion in the policy? I need answers. How can Max Bupa make this wrong claim on a medical condition that has not been PROVEN by anyone!!? Neither their network diagnostic lab nor the Doctor who was appointed in the Diag lab, nor any medical practitioner by Max Bupa? WHo Is the authority behind this CLAIM?                   worst healthcare policy is Max Bupa Insurance... Everyone who takes their policy ought to be a fool... I just started reading their reviews online and realised i am not the only one... nobody is happy with Max Bupa... They are the most expensive in terms of premium but the worst in terms of service... We had applied for a insurance claim and since it was not an emergency we thought its better to submit all documents and when the approval comes we would proceed with the surgery... It was supposed to take 4 hrs but even after 4 days nothing happened and to top it all everytime i had to call to take an update all that these guys wld do is send a sms stating your papers have been processed and within 4 hrs your claim wld be settled... After 4 days and over 2 hrs of time wastage we get informed that this MIGHT BE a old disease and we wld only be confirm after the surgery?????? How ridiculous can a company be, so simple say that u guys wld only pay for COLD, COUGH, VIRAL AND THROAT INFECTION... I am completely dissapointed with the company and no matter what would NEVER EVER TAKE THEIR INSURANCE AGAIN IN MY LIFE...MY PARENTS HAVE NATIONAL INDIA INSURANCE AND PAY A MUCH LESSER PREMIUM, SO ATLEAST U R PREPARED FOR MEDIOCRE SERVICE AND ALL THEIR CLAIMS TILL DATE HAVE BEEN SETTLED... What a stupid thing i did by listening to their sales agent and shifting to this unprofessional company...

                    Dear Customer Services Team, Like everyone else here I am too a victim of Max Bupa. I have a max bupa policy family first for my family of 6 people. Policy no : [protected] By name shyam bissa . Its a third year of my policy where we havent taken any claims so far .. This time we went for a preventive heart check up for my dad ( angio graphy ) since we have a family history of heart problems . Its a day care procedure so we applied for cashless claims stating reason for preexisting disease as diabetes and Hyper tension. Than later on our refund claim was also denied stating the same as a reason . I was shocked and then realized that just to add more people to take their policy 3 years back they gave us this policy without any paperwork or checkup. My dad was 59 years that time. . No as you mentioned the claim is denied stating the reason as below so there are few things I need to Clarify here. Firstly when we took this Policy the Insured Member, Mr Shyam Sunder Bissa, was taking a Medicine for HyperTension ( Basic ) and Used to ( was not taking ) take the medicine for Diabetes . We did mention the same their AGENT MR ASHISH VERMA, who while pushing us to take the policy on month ( 28 july 2012 ) end because he wanted to get us enrolled before end of july to meet his sales targets. BTW he also offered us a cash discount of 10 %, He gave me around 3500 cash after a week or so as he said its a discount . ( I never received any official discount summary for that ) . Our policy form was also filled by him and He was only interested in the payment which I did by 28th, He said he will arrange everything else . Also What he said to us that at this age everyone take these medicines and Hypertension is normal . and since at that moment He was not taking any medicines for Diabetes he said than no point mentioning this . ( My dad had very little sugar problem and the level was almost normal, for which we have submitted the copies of earlier test reports .) .So what am I Suppose to do ?? Now If you are giving a policy without the medical check up its not our responsibility later on, Its your duty to ask for check up before giving the policy .You have made this a habit to Deny the claims later on . You as a company should have asked for medical test ( which is also mentioned on your websites ) for a person above 45 years . ( my dad was nearling 60 at the time we took the policy ) . But just because you wanted to get ONE more customer enrolled at that time you skipped these basic requirements. Regarding CAD ( which they added later on ), since we had a family history so we always go for heart checkup every year and that was the reason we were taking preventive medicines ( hyper tension ) . So you mean to say going for a preventive health checkup makes you a patient ????? seriously . If I take a preventive medicines to be on safer side doesn't make me a patient for that ill ness. And we also have our Heart checkup reports for every year ( which is also normal, and we submitted that ) Now considering a fact you also have a waiting period of 24 months for Diabetes & related treatment so this time has already passed so the Diabetes should not be concern anyways. and Its only last one and half years he is strictlt taking a medicine for Diabetes. So what we requested the claim was for a Non Existing illness and the procedure, Angio graphy, which is to check the heart blockage . So how the hell is related to any of the other issues which you mentioned. Tomorrow you can give reason for anything ..Its a third year for us to have this policy and it was the first claim we asked for and this is what we get ??? Do you really think I should trust MAX BUPA now for any claims ?? So stop giving reasons for not giving any claims . You mean to say everyone first should take Max Bupa policy for 4 years ( so that all exceptions are over ) and than you will provide claims. And as far as I know as per your policy even the preexisting diseases are covered after a waiting period ?? Right .. we are through with 3 years so Diabetes doesnt count anyways and hypertension is also not considered a reason for denial. I really wanted to re review our case and hope to get some positive response from your side. Looking forward for a sensible reply this time from a senior executive from Max Bupa. And by the way since last two years we never ever received our policy documents inspite of calling their customer care more than 10 times over the years and mailing them equally and regularly ..                       Claim number 101932 On facing a Heart attack situation i got admitted to Hospital and was advised for Angio and then carried out angioplasty and cashless was denied by Max Bupa . however i paid the bills and submitted my claim on 20.9.2014 and while I was waiting for the settlement ( as per their norms it gets settled with 15-21 working days) and was surprised to see the status update as on 28.10.2014 raising an objection . Infect the answer to the objection has already been given in the forms filled during the verification visit of their representative. It seems that the objection has been raised just to cover up the gap on the part of Max Buda. While I tried to explore the same with ONLINE CHAT with one of their representative Mr Prashant and the same is also enclosed. While going through the chat, I am quite surprised that the person is not ready to answer to the specific query raised by me but he is trying to best deviate from the topic. On again and again asking the specific question he still was not in a position to answer and further on being cornered that as per your answer only, why things have not moved or still not moving, he has no reply. This means that the ONLINE chat is just a time waste and the people sitting there has no knowledge or even authority to reply. They are just there may be to get new customers with their company but are unable to handle the existing clients. ( one must go through the attached chat and analyse the replies of Max Bupa representative) Max Bupa must mention on their site that existing customers should not try any means of approaching the MaxBupa, they just should remains on the mercy of MAXBUPA people. This is certainly not expected from the company like MaxBupa. When its time to take policy the agents and even company people are there to reply all queries but when it comes to the claims, they all are there BUT for cashless denial as well as raising the objections only and that too beyond time limits being prescribed by themselves only. Utterly disappointed with the MAXBUPA service and will not recommend this name to any one . It seems that Max Bupa feels that patients go intentionally for Heart attack to have the claim from them. And MAX BUPA TEAM is there for not to provide support and cooperation AND stand there to deny everything. Under disappointment and that too after the Angioplasty. This itself is more disturbing and Doctor says do not take tension and Max Bupa says do not listen to doctor we will not leave anything unturned for keeping you in tension. I am not sure as how long they will take to settle the claim and moreover will they settle or not and leave a heart attack patient to keep writing them or follow to various consumer forums and consumer courts. They are there to take premium for the policy with the main intention that incase the claim comes, they will first deny cashless and then keep the patient in tension for the rest of life. While taking the Max Bupa policy, people should be prepared to let them be harrassed by the company.

                        Dear Manager, Max Bupa I am just recovering from a large surgery, but due to Max Bupa irresponsible behavior and unethical practices to reject any claim No 57074, I should raise my voice and show you facts that this is a proper unethical rejection done by Max Bupa.I know these insurance companies have 1000 reasons to reject claim and they only make money on rejecting and selling. FYI I am taking this matter to consumer court with mental harassment also. FYI…First symptoms and diagnostic of GERD happened after inception of the policy and I have complete documents with doctor’s certificate. They just rejected the claim as some junior doctor has written in my IPD document 3 To 4 Years instead of 3 years. Anyway I have my treating doctor’s certificate attached and Max Bupa should reconsider my case. At the day of discharge I got a rejection message from Max Bupa suddenly they identified that this disease comes under preexisting and coincidently Max bupa has covered my first identification of the same disease with any problem. I have not Hided anything from Max Bupa which cleared in the attached doctors certificate as my problem got diagnosed after purchase of policy Max Bupa have no rights to reject my claim in any circumstances. Suddenly I arranged Rs 1, 14, 000 to pay my hospital bill tonight it was totally harassment and in this condition I have taken lots of tension. I will fight for it now weather you refund my money or not I will tell with the help of media and putting a case in consumer court so that consumer think 1000 times before dealing with Max Bupa.                           As you can understand, this is not at all good for your organisation reputation and is hampering your goodwill.

                          However, the purpose of writing this mail is to understand and seek clarification from your organisation.

                          1) Would like to know the exit policy and the amount that we get as a refund for the same
                          2) My mother was told that in case there is no claim in the period of the policy then the entire sum of premuim is refundable. Would like to know the amount of truth behind this statement
                          3) For renewals, I would like to stop any standing instructions given whatsoever to any bank, to deduct the premuim for forthcoming years of renewal.

                            I took online policy where no medical tests were mentioned, I bought from max bupa site itself, they call me asking take mom to center. I asked them to send some one at home as mom is flying to USA 3 months and she is busy with packing and other arrangements (I can even show visa) they are not listening. I sent 4 emails and even called 15 times I now sent email to Gargi.Sahu and Saurabh.Tripathi, I am sure no one would return back to me more from last email. I was promised to get call back today no one called back when i called I was kept on hold without any ack and then I called back again by 7:50 guy took almost 5 minutes to pull details saying computer is slow and then asked me to wait 5 minutes so he can check and kept saying 1 min min then line gets disconnected. I call back the working hours are over. Come on Guys don't play this game, how Can i get my money back?????? I called almost 15 times since buying policy UHC guys are much better made a big mistake.                               I have been a max bupa insurance holder for over 2 years now. When I renewed my policy this year, they wanted me to undergo a medical test although I have been an insurance policy holder for 2 years and submitted no claims. On top of that they have written pre-existing conditions in my renewed policy that does not even exist. I have tried to resolve this with Max Bupa customer care team and medical team but neither of them is willing to change the non-existing condition levied as pre-existing in my renewed policy. I request all of you considering Max Bupa insurance to stay away from this insurance company and for existing policy holders, please check your new policy or renewed policy. This company will fradulently add conditions that do not even exist and you will not be covered. I sincerely hope such insurance companies get penalized for their fradulent practices.

                              I want to complain about mis-selling, false information and price
                              gouging by Max Bupa Health Insurance.

                              I bought Health insurance (Heartbeat EFF Gold) from Max Bupa in
                              December 2012. I paid Rs. 16, 641.00 in 2012 and Rs 16, 334 in 2013 for the insurance.
                              I was promised by the many sales executives in Max Bupathat the rate would not increase by 1-2%/year, i.e,
                              Rs 200-300, maximum Rs 500/year.

                              In 2014, when I want to renew, they inform me that the product is
                              changed and I have to pay Rs. 20, 655. This is an increase of 26.45%
                              !! When I asked customer care the reason, they said it is due to
                              medical inflation and product change. Max Bupa changed product unilaterally and wants customers to by 26% more!!

                              I want IRDA to have Max Bupa refrain from misguiding existing and
                              future customers. They should inform customers in advance that prices
                              are not in a small band but can go up over 26% as well because they
                              unilaterally change product without asking customers.

                              Also, I would request IRDA to impose a significant fine on Max Bupa so
                              that its customer care and sales team refrain from price gouging and lying
                              customers.

                              I have complained to IRDA and am posting here so that people see and not buy Max Bupa

                                This is to
                                bring your kind notice that I had purchased your Heartbeat Silver Health Policy
                                No. [protected] on 10.08.2013 valid upto 09.08.2014 via policy bazaar.

                                I suffered
                                from Fever (Malaria) and got admitted in Arogyam Hospital at Kharghar, Navi
                                Mumbai. As per policy terms and
                                condition, I intimate Max Bupa about my hospitalization in advance, (Intimation No. 853645).

                                After
                                discharged on 18/07/2014, I submitted reimbursement claim of Rs. 34, 516/- (Claim No. 95841)

                                Surprisingly,
                                after few days I got reply that my claim was not approved with reason stating “Allopathic Treatment done by BAMS
                                Physician”. I have reported the above matter to you several times (E mail
                                correspondence attached) but despite all my pleadings you have never reply with
                                satisfactory answer which is indeed regrettable. On account of your aforesaid
                                dereliction of duty and failure and neglect to rectify the same I have suffered
                                losses / incurred expenses.

                                can practice modern / allopatic medicine. To support my statement I am
                                attaching following:

                                to the privileges in the Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940, Rules 1945 Sec
                                2ee(iii), States have right to allow BAMS doctors to use modern medicine.

                                clearly mentioned that BAMS physician is eligible to practice the modern system
                                of medicine which is known as allopathic system of medicine.

                                compensation for financial loss suffered due to your negligence in the sum of

                                  [protected] - I have renewed the policy on 9th of August 2014 and as per their website the renewal premium showed is Rs14607. So I paid the amount. Till date the renewal policy documents were not sent. Now the renewal teams calls and says the premium amount is rs16000+. This is not the first time, even last year also they did the same thing. After huge discussion, they agree their mistake and renewed my last year policy. If we go and purchase a new policy also, the premium is same and why should a customer pay extra? also their response team respond very slowly and takes almost 13days to inform about short amounts. I think such things need to take to IRDA Ombusdman for MAX BUPA trying to do such things. here am attaching the proofs. regards Chaitanya

                                    Hi Sir, This is with reference to my policy with Max Bupa Life Insurance. Details of the Policy are as follows Customer ID:- [protected] PreAuth ID :- 50929 Patient's Name :- Sudha Mittal Patient is my mother and I, Ankit Mittal, have bought the policy for her. She was disgnosed on 24 June 2014 to have Fibroids and then doctor suggested for operation. Columbia Asia hospital, Ghaziabad, sent mail to Max Bupa on 21st July 2014 for pre-authorization along with all details as required. The operation was scheduled for 24th July 2014 and Max Bupa sent the approval on 22 July 2014. But on 23rd July 2014, Max Bupa decided to reverse there decision on 23rd July 2014 at 10am in the morning when I received the mail that previous approval has been denied now. This was the time when I was at my job in the office. They didn't even left us option to get something done and we were only coordinating with them to get this resolved on phone and mails as only that could have been done from the office at that time. "They stated the Reason for the Denial as follows IN THE PRE-AUTH REQUEST FORM DATE OF FIRST CONSULTAION IS MENTION AS 09/2013.AND POLICY ISTAKEN ON 12/02013.IT SCLEAR THAT AILMENT IS PRIOR TO POLICY INCEPTION HENCE CASHLESS IS REJCTED INPED AND NON DISCLOSER OF PED. PLEASE NOTE PREVIOUSLY AUTHORISED AMOUNT OF RS 70, 000/-STANDS CANCELED We, therefore, request you to kindly contact ANKIT MITTAL with regard to settlement of your bills. In this mater, the customer has been notified today. We request you to share a copy of this letter with customer." I initially notified them that this is due to miscommunication and not all the necessary information to reach to this conclusion. Even my doctor specified this clearly in the preauth details that it was diagnosed only this year in june 2014. She even clarified them everything on her official letter pad which have been sent to them already. Also we are having the reports for the test scheduled 09/Feb/2013 which clearly shows no existing disease regarding the same. We are having all the reports from 2013 to the reports when it is diagnosed first time and confirmed in june 2014. We are continuously trying to share all the information so that have proper information to reach to that conclusion that they have made based on the preauth registration form submitted by hospital. But they are not willing to look at the report neither contacted us before making that decision. Now they are asking for report but when we asking to reply same on the mail they are continuously denying to send any mail update to us stating they reply after 48 hours and not replying even to TPA to which they reply in 4 hours on preauthorization of claims. Further no one is helping from customer care and informing us that sir our preauth team has said this decision can't be changed for whatsoever reason. They are claiming that they have made decision and won't even consider it though we informed we are having reports which clearly shows this is not pre existing disease. They are not helping us on anything now and just trying to delay as much as they can so that we can go under operation ourselves. This have left no option with us and we had tp defer the operation. They just saying decision won't be changed under any circumstance even if report says that or doctor gives on his letter pad and they even rejecting to talk to doctor now. They are not helping us and just delaying the matter and trying to show this as pre-existing disease while we have all the reports which confirms otherwise. We need your help to talk to them, they wont reply neither giving any satisfactory answer, neither saying they want to see reports or talk to doctor, hospital anybody. We will be very thankful to you if you could kindly ask them to check all the reports, consultation and prescriptions to decide if this is pre-existing or not and process are pre-authorization based on it. All the Reports are self explanatory in nature and could help them take sound decision that it is detected and diagnosed only in june 2014. As previously everything was fine regarding it. Please look into this as operation is pending on this pre-authorization and we need to get this done so operation can be performed and doesn't get delayed too long.                                     The response I am seeing from your customer care is really unpleasant and you have made my life really tough, even when you are seeing reports clearly stating that no disease exist and reports are all clear.

                                    Your team is continuously to trying to deny based on useless comments and no one is answering our question directly.

                                    They are not sharing clear answer in written even though they did say that sir yes reports are normal.

                                    Like to share the Answer which i get from your team as to how much they are forcing for claiming than authrizing the pre-auth.

                                    Below you can see reply, instead of replying that whether report say normal or pre existing she simply shared the previous update and letter, as she personally want me to go to procedure on my own and not give any claim even when i am having clear proof of report and my doctor letter head statement.

                                    Just to sum up this complaint, there was no help on the company's end. They contacted just in vain, no resolution, no hearing, no conversations, no doctor's statement, no reports were actually considered by Max Bupa, because they just dont have any commitments to fullfil.

                                    Even there customer care stopped responding, And going to the grievance authority is not at all possible via any email or phone number. Only a web link is there where you actually dont have any confirmation and no email reponse received further.

                                    I would personally suggest to be aware of the max bupa health policy.

                                    I never faced such issues with any company, we already hold policies of ICICI Lombard and other health insurance, never faced such situation with them.

                                    I am currently trying to contact there grievance department but dont think they would help. I would be going to the Insurance Ombudsman and the Consumer forum further.

                                    I wished i would never have taken there policy in first place.

                                      Hello, I have taken max Bupa health Insurance policy in July 2011. My customer id is 49778. In the first year, my total premium for Heartbeat gold policy (5 Lakh+15 Lakh) in which my wife and myself were covered was Rs. 15, 180. In the second year I made a premium payment of Rs. 15, 699 for the same cover. In 2013, I had requested inclusion of my new born daughter and the premium subsequently increased to Rs. 22, 087. Now, next month my policy is up for renewal and today I had contacted MaxBupa's customer care to know my due premium this year. To my shock, they have increased my due premium to Rs. 26, 400 (approximately). This is a steep increase of about 20% in a single year. On being asked about the reasons for such a steep increase, I was informed that my policy has been automatically upgraded which requires me to pay a higher premium. My complaint is that I was never contacted about this upgrade. The customer care says that they have sent an email 90 days back informing about this upgrade. I am sorry but I did not receive any communication from maxBupa intimating about this. If at all they have sent, it must have been some email that looks like a promotional mail. Even so, why was my policy upgraded without my consent? I joined MaxBupa after assessing a plan vis-a-vis its cost. A nominal increase in premium is understandable but such a steep increase is incorrect. I do not want the associated benefits that the company claims to provide with the upgraded version. I am not ready to pay that extra cost. Why is it being enforced upon me? Why do I not have the option of retaining my original version of plan? This is brazen cheating and creating a lot of issues for me as I now have to look at options that provides desired benefits at the costs that fits my pocket? Will the Max Bupa Insurance company ensure that my concerns are heard? I hope for a reply from you and a positive redressal to my grievance. Else, please consider that a three year old relationship with the company will be finished.

                                      you should complain to IRDA. I am surprise that so many people are suffering in hand of max bupa but IRDA is not listening.
                                      I also has same experience with IRDA they helping such company. finally I wrote to PM and trust it will have some result sooner. please write to PM directly.

                                      I am exactly in the same situation...20% increase with some added benefits that were never asked for ...ridiculous..
                                      My premium also increased by 33 percent and they are blaming it to GST and some medical inflation. I don't understand, if they are considering medical inflation why is my cover still 10L for which 5 years ago the premium was 17K, and this year 37K.

                                      Even i am also faced with such a awkward problem. My premium have been raised by 33 percent by MAX BHUPA . Rather its just second year and Neither is there any any up-gradation in the product itself nor there is any addition/variation at our end. Last year i paid 13, 665/- for Health Companion Product for Cover of 15 L and without there being any claim in the whole year, now this year they have raised the premium to Rs. 18098/- . The only excuse is GST whereas earlier the service Tax was 15% now GST is 18% so it's just marginal increase of 3% which will come to around Rs. 400/-. IT IS RATHER ORGANISED LOOT BY INSURANCE COMPANIES.
                                      Same case with me. After 2 years of taking Max Bupa Heartbeat policy, and having made no claims - this year they are asking for 31% hike in premium (from approx Rs 16k to 21k). I have not asked for any upgrade whatsoever.

                                      Additionally they sent me the renewal reminder email with the new hiked premium, without any specific mention that it is a higher amount (probably hoping that I will not notice the hike and just renew at that rate) and obviously there was no explanation for the hike (as that would bring in some questions which I presume they have no substantial answers to)
                                      I am also facing the same issue they Max Bupa has increased the premium by 33% and the customer care is saying that this is a periodic exercise. Either we switch to some other policy as this looks ridiculous

                                      This policy was issued to me last year for Rs 32000/- and we applied instantly. None of your sales guys informed us on future premium hikes. Also, nowhere in the sales discussions and quote sent it was ever communicated or explained that next year onwards the policy premium will go 15000/- dearer to me. Now the new premium is 48000. Please note just 1 year of policy been brought.

                                      I have gone through the soft copy of the policy document, all email communications, quote sent and receipt shared.No mention whatsoever.

                                      I hereby decline to pay this premium that is increased by Rs 15, 000/- and consider this a clear case of consumer duping and cheating. I am copying my in-house counsel who will take this up with the appellate authority, ombudsman and consumer court.

                                      Their justification is that premium increases with increase in age slabs something that they didn't pay heed to explain it to the consumer at all while selling their plans. Obviously, anyone would react to a false advertising, duping sales guys and such unethical policies when we are forced to pay double the premium for no rhyme or reason.

                                      very sad!
                                      One of the reasons I had applied for health insurance for myself and my family early was in order to lock the premium at a lower rate. I haven't made a single claim so far and yet MaxBhupa has been increasing the premium in multiples of thousands every year. I feel trapped. This is unfair. I will be glad to move to an insurance company that doesn't exploit me like this. Please contact me with a better option.
