Address: sushant Lok-1, Gurgaon, Haryana

I visited the MAX hospital gurgaon (sushant lok) on Monday the 15th of July for ear ailment. I opted an ENT specialist and paid RS.800 only for consultation. The doctor advised me mobizox tablets twice a day for 4 days and said there was slight infection(which he did not bother to write down on teh prescription)
When i returned I found the med given was a pain killer only. Trusting the judgement of the doctor I took it 2 days but to no effect.

Thus fed up of the pain i again visted the Hospital today (17th July) for re consultation.
I found the doctor was not available and he would only be coming again on Monday (22nd July). Since the pain was severe I proposed that I should be examined by another available ENT specialist.
To my suprise the hospital asked me to pay 800 again , when it has been only two day, and inappropriate med has been given by their doctor.
Only arguing further they made me talk to the doc who only increased the dose of pain killer and asked me to visit him on Monday.

This is sheer harassment of patient. I do not know what ate hospitals for. reducing people's trouble or minting money.
We have just become objects of milking money out from without proper treatment. Ridiculous approach which should be curbed before this becomes a full fledged business.

Best Regards,
Swati Singh

My uncle was admitted to Max Saket; he’d been complaining about this acute pain in his stomach. I visited him some 7 or 8 times in the hospital. Though some mild pain was still there, he appreciated the doctor and the staff a lot. By the time he was discharged from the hospital, my uncle was an altogether different person; free from the pain that had made his life a living hell.
He was very much impressed with the care, he’d been given by the hospital staff. Be it the tests, medicines, or bill payment, everybody in the hospital was ready to go an extra mile for the patients, and their families.
It wasn’t like any other hospital that you go to; Max Healthcare is different; I mean, you feel like being surrounded by people who really care about you.

When my patient was in ICU,we rang up from ICU waiting lounge to ask the duty doctor(Dr Reshma) as to what is the potassium of the patient? She replied-I won'll you,my name is Dr Reshma and go and complaint to whomsoever you want. When our patient was very serious ,we contacted Dr Ajay Lal-he says don't bother me,I have other patients also.Whom to talk to when our patient is serious?????When our mother passed away and we went inside, the pillow of my mother was soaked in blood from 1 side.Professional criminals.
One thing is there ,their marketing is very good till your patient reaches max, saket.I appreciate.Your patient will become ok will be in the room within 3 days.We have all the facilities and modern machines---this is what Akansha(private secretary)of Dr Ajay Lal told us.We had shown all the latest reports to Dr Ajay Lal before we brought our mother to the max hospital.Initially,he kept on telling us that the patient is not as serious as I thought her to be.What happened then that she passed away.Doctors can get away with everything and the attendants are standing and crying and they are in a HELPLESS situation.
The worst hospital in regard to ICU.Never go to this hospital if your patient is serious, otherwise God save your patient. If your patient is in ICU,then then the ICU doctors and attending doctors and nurses are God.What they are doing inside, only they know..The attendants are not even informed properly about the condition of the patient and the senior doctors totally rely on the junior doctors.Senior doctors have lot of attitude. If a patient dies in ICU, the body is handed over in 3 -4 hours with all the junior staff of ICU struggling to wrap and wrap the dead person and making mummy out of it and the sweeper already busy in thowing the matieral used by the patient.Anybody wants to take their patient in max saket????Take it at your own risk!!!!My story is endless, hence closing for know.Beware everyone. All the best.

            Hi All,

Just want to bring to notice of everyone about - HOW BAD & FRUSTRATED IS MAX HOSPITAL services are.

I had got my daughters Nose surgery done on 17th of MARCH . We have a 24hr admission as it was minor surgery & i had opted for my ICICI medicailm cash less policy for the same. that has got pre-approved for 40,000/-.
At the time of discharge , billing amount made by hospital was 39,000/- , They haven't faxed the document to TPA , that was resulting STAY FOR ONE MORE DAY, TAT WILL BE CHARGED EXTRA.
So after discussion with them , i opted for payment of 39,000/- IN CASH , SO THAT I CAN GET DISCHARGED TIMELY & TAKE MY KID HOME.

            FIRSTLY,

I GOT SETTLEMENT CONFIRMATION FROM TPA FOR 38,700/- , excluding 300/- NON-PAYBLE charges for some medical record or filling charges. When i went for SETTLEMENT - HOSPITAL HAS CLEARED 38,034. Stating - rest are for non-payble items.

NOT SURE WHEN TPA HAD CLEARED EVERYTHING INCLUDING DETAILED BILLS SENT TO THEM FOR VERIFICATION @ 38,700/- . THEN WHY THIS ADDITIONAL 600-700 CHARGED TO BE EXTRA. THAT MEAN THEY ARE GETTING IT FROM TPA AS WELL AS CHARGING ME DOUBLE ON THAT.

HOSPITAL HAD CONFIRMED THAT NEXT DAY I CAN COME & GET THE AMOUNT REFUNDED. TILL 20,000/- THEY CAN RETURN CASH - BALANCE WILL BE BY Cheque.

SINCE THAT DAY I AM FOLLOWING WITH THEM FOR MY REFUND OF 38,034 RS. EVERY DAY I HAVE A SAME MESSAGE THAT CHEQUE HAS NOT CAME FROM OKHLA HEAD OFFICE, SOMTIME IT IS BEING SENT- BUT NOT REACHED TO THEM, NOW IT HAS TO COME FROM SHALIMAR BAGH BRANCH...

IT'S QUITE frustrating & NON-PROFESSIONAL. EVEN IF HAD OPTION FOR A NON-CASHLESS MEDICLAIM - I WOULD HAVE GOT MY MONEY BACK TILL NOW. Today it is 17 day - now it is SATURDAY & SUNDAY .SO NOTHING LESS THAN 20TH DAY.

FOR THAT TOO NO-ONE IN THE HOSPITAL IS SURE ABOUT WHO'S THE RESPONSIBLE PERSON & WHEN THEY CAN EXPECT . THEY ARE JUST FOLLOWING - IAM NOT SURE ABOUT WHOME & ASK ME TO CHECK STATUS ON MPONDAY i.e. 9th APRIL.

              Dear Sir/Madam
I underwent a simple DNC procedure. This is only a diagnostic procedure. But after the procedure my periods suddenly stopped. I am a normal mensturating female till before the procedure. I suspect that something was done to stop my periods such as removing most of my left ovary. Further I have developed a insistent pain on the left lower abdomen after the procedure.

This is in reference to the kind of support and treatment we have received from the Doctors and support staff of Max Healthcare Pritampura and I want the concerned person to review following in the whole case:
1.Why Dr Vineeta Taneja consultation fees increased form 400/- to 800/- ?
2.Why Dr Vineeta Taneja visited 3 times a day when she was no role to play ?
3.If Dr Vineeta Taneja consultation is 800/- why Dr. Rajinder Yadav is charging 480/- ?
4.Eco done on 20th as per hospital (as per me done on 18th) till date no report after 4 visits to hospitals ?
5.CAT scanning done on 19th Morning and reports was not available till 20th 1500 (received that too after escalation to Medical superintendent) ?
6.Dr Ramesh Jain, recommended Dr. Rajinder Yadav on 18th however he didn't visited till 20th why ?
7.What was the role of ICU, in the treatment provided to the patient ?
8.Why was Endoscopy done when it was clearly visible from the Ultrasound report that the issue is in Urinary bladder ?
9.Why the 50% room rent has been charged when patient was only shifted to room from ICU for 1hr before shifted to Medanta?
10.Why thing are working like we have admitted our patient in Nursing home rather then Max Hospital Super Speciality.
Summary: My father In Law was loosing appetite so planned to take him to the nearest hospital i.e. Max Healthcare Pritampura, got a appointment for 1130 however our turn came at 1300 that shows I does not matter at all if you are taking appointment in advance.
Then we met Dr Vineeta Taneja(Internal Medicine), she advice please get him admitted immediately as in this age we should not take risk we did the same. the consultation charges were 400/-
Now we have admitted him and as usual room was allotted, started doing the test eg ultrasound, BP, Blood Sugar etc... after review the reports they found that K+ is high they immediately transferred him to ICU, he was in ICU for 3 days and not sure what they have done except testing, where as if you read the Ultrasound report is is clearly saying its a clearly Urology case and Internal Medicine has nothing to do with this, however no Dr want to release the patient as usual Dr Vineeta Taneja did the same, however till we said that we want him to be shifted to other hospital, Urology Dr didn't came to see him. We then got Dr. Rajinder Yadav from Urology to see him, however he was in some other mood and he planned Cystoscopy for next day however we were already fed up of the system and we left for Medanta.

At the time of admiiting to the hospital,i enquired about the mediclaim Policy by Oriental Insurance that I have.
I requested for a cashless settlement between th ehospital nd the insurance company. To this I was given a form by the hospital, whioch i got filled from my consulting docter
As the treatment was in progress, time and again I was told that the Hospital is fulfilling every formality and that there should not be any problem. They use to fax papers to the insurer in front of me,even talk to themI was convinced that they are working on my case.

However, when the treatment was over,I was bluntly told, that MAx Hospitals dont have a tie up with oriental Insurance. That means i will have to make payments then and there to get a discharge from the hospital.

                  I want a clarification on some points;
                  1. If the Hospital knew that they dont have a tie up witha certain company, then why did they make me fill up the form, had i known before,i would have used a different Hospital.
                  2. Why did they fake that they were in regular touch with the Insurerer, they told me that there is no problem from our end.

I was under this mis conception that I would get a cashless treatment from the hospital, whcih was just an illusion created by the hospital.

This kind of act is not appreciated, just to keep the business goping ,no one should mislead ,specially in the medical profession.
When re checked with them, they clearly denied and said that they informed me about this, but if they did,why did they have to make me fill up the forms.............this is sheer case of cheating and mi guiding.

On 20th July 2009 I visited Max Balaji Hospital, Patpargunj New Delhi for vaccination of my daughter. After vaccination I was given the doctor’s slip and asked to pay Rs. 2100 as per the given bill. When I checked the pack MRPs, printed vaccine prices were Rs. 1468 (Okavax) and Rs. 96.25 (MMR Tresivac). However bill was showing 1500 and Rs. 600 respectively.

When I questioned the billing clerk she told that in Okavax vaccine administering charges have been added. I was shocked! Chemists offer discounts on MRPs I know, hospital charging for storing and handling medicines I heard for the first time in my life. Regarding the other (MMR Tresivac vaccine) price clerk told hospital has billed for a different brand (exorbitantly priced brand, Rs. 95 vs Rs. 600).

Excuses were ridiculous, without prior intimation or showing segregated amount/mention in bill no hospital can charge administering charges within medicine cost. And in MMR vaccine without even consulting me on brands they have injecting a regular/cheap MMR brand (Rs. 96.25) and very smartly billed for the most expensive MMR brand. Max Balaji chemists also don’t keep that expensive MMR brand (some Priorix MMR).

I found both offences very serious. So I wrote to Max Balaji hospital superintendent and Max Healthcare chairman. Only hospital superintendent replied, Max chairman Mr. Analjit Singh and his office did not even bothered to reply or enquire about this matter. Hospital superintendent Dr. Shaloo replied that as a policy administering charges are inbuilt (meaning hidden) in vaccine MRPs and wrong brand billing is a clerical error (in spite a doctor’s slip).

I checked my previous visit bills also. And found none has the vaccine brand, batch no, manufacturer, pack rate or expiry date mentioned on any bill. Some vaccine MRPs were also very vague. This proved Max is recovering additional charges bundled with medicine/vaccine MRPs from all patients.
I never ever dreamt Max Hospital service fee can be hidden in medicine MRPs, charges are more than market prices (under the garb of amount rounding off), bills are incomplete and ambiguous. My trust on Max brand is completely shattered, I am thinking of suing them. Except your eyes and don’t trust anyone! Share ur experiences at - [protected]@yahoo.com

                      Sir,

Our experience is also bad, you went to a commercial business hospital and same with us. Please provide us e-mail id of Dr. Dilpreet Brar or Anal(us)jit Singh.

                      Thanks,
                      Jaspal
I booked online appointments with 2 doctors on their website and was told the amount after 10% discount for seniors. But when I went to the hospital I was told that the website is outdated and they charged more, and said that the 10% discount didn't apply. It's only after some argument that they admitted the 10% does apply, and charged more only for 1 of the doctors. But actually the amount on the website was correct and they're cheating customers.

The doctors seem good though, and the place is clean and modern for those who can afford it and don't mind being cheated at the payment desk.

Complaint against Max Hospital for Negligence and Deficiency of Services

This has reference to the sudden and untimely demise of my daughter Dr Nitika Manchanda, 30 yrs. She was admitted to Max Hospital, Pitam Pura, Delhi on 3rd morning and delivered a baby boy at 5.41 am. She was doing well till 10 pm on 4th may and then due to negligence of doctors and deficiency of services at hospital, she lost her life and was declared clinically dead on 12.30 pm on 5th may. Please try to find answers on the following respects and punish the guilty.

                        1. Is child birth a disease – of which healthy people loosing life?
Nitika Manchanda, who worked as an assistant manager with Genpact India, had no medical history or any abnormality. She got her last Doppler Study done on April 24th which was normal. She gave birth to a boy baby on 3rd May through C-Section and lost her life foe no obvious reasons on 5th May leaving behind 2 day old child. To add on, Hospital authorities are perplexed about the cause of Death.
FAILURE TO ADDRESS PREVENTABLE DEATH IS THE GREATEST INJUSTICE OF ALL TIMES

                        2. Does a new onset pain after 36 hours of delivery NOT require special attention and investigation? – Simple principle ignored
It was about 10.00 pm on 4th May when Nitika complained of abdominal pain and backache and the condition of the patient was informed by the attending nurse to the doctor on duty. It was assumed a normal Post operative pain and was advised a painkiller. At 11 pm when the patient had no relief, the doctor advised some more painkillers and sedatives. Further at 2 am on 5th May, the severe pain was complained of again. She was shivering and vomited, doctor yet again advised some injection without bothering to know the pathology behind the symptoms. At 6.30 am the patient’s condition further deteriorated but the doctor repeated painkillers and sedatives without going for detailed investigation. At 7.30 the patient’s blood pressure was recorded as 80/40 and at this point of time the doctors thought of shifting the patient to ICU. Lot of time was wasted in administrative issues due to unavailability of bed in ICU; she was received in Post Operative at 8.30 am.
As per hospital records at 11.00 pm on 4th May itself, the doctor on duty felt the need to ‘inform/call anesthetists for lower backache’ and later the same doctor is reported to have’ informed anesthetist (Dr Preeti)’ who advised ‘mobizox’ without even visiting the patient. It was not given till 7 am next day due to reasons best known to them. Moreover the doctor/nurse failed to inform/call anesthetists, perhaps they forgot after giving sedatives to the ‘patient’. Nitika’s phone call at about 11.00 pm to the mobile of Dr. Alka Gupta, the gynecologist surgeon was also not awakening for the doctor. It is also to be verified if the doctor on duty (Dr. Pooja) holds a valid degree & experience of gynecology and competent to take care of such cases.
NEGLECTED POST OPERATIVE CARE WAS A DENIAL TO HER RIGHT TO LIVE

3 Was Basic Infrastructure appropriate? – Lifts and Blood Bank, pathetic situation
There are only 2 small size lifts in this 10 floor building. One of the lifts stops only at selected floors. Nitika was allotted room no. 1415 on 4th floor. The baby was kept in nursery at 8th floor. For feeding baby every time she was being taken on a wheel chair to nursery and average time taken for every single side painful movement was 15 minutes which can be exhausting for a lady who had just gone through a C-section.
It is strange that the hospital which claims 24 hour emergency does not have its own blood bank and the nearest blood bank is located at Shalimar Bagh which is about 5 km from the hospital. It was neither informed to us by the consultant doctor, Dr Alka Gupta before the surgery or any of the antenatal care visits. Moreover, the hospital has no co-ordination with the blood bank and the family was sent on wild goose chase for blood. When the family asked for the contact numbers of the blood bank which could help them locate, they didn’t have any. In fact the requirement of blood was felt first at about 7.30 am, she was brought to post operative at about 8.30 in collapsed state but we were given samples not before 9.00 am. After two hours requirement was generated for arranging platelets of O+ donor and this time whole process took about 2 hours at the blood bank; but she was declared dead before platelets could reach the hospital.
HOSPITAL WAS NON EQUIPPED TO HANDLE EMERGENCY OBSTETRIC CARE

4 Is hiding facts NOT a grave offence?
According to the death summary submitted by consulting gynecologist Dr Alka Gupta, “Nitika complained on backache on the morning of May 5, and despite all resuscitative procedures she could not be revived”. As a matter of fact Nitika had been complaining of abdominal pain and backache since 10 pm on May 4 and she was prescribed painkillers and sedatives whole night by the attending doctors/nurses without diagnosing cause of pain. The Nurses Daily Assessment/ Night Notes of the hospital records clearing unveil false claim of the hospital.

I request you for an in depth investigation of the causes and circumstances surrounding this untimely maternal death to take the matter further and take strong steps against the responsible doctors/nurses and the money minting hospital which has no right to leave a 2 day child motherless. None of my efforts now would bring my daughter back; however your unbiased investigation can help save many more precious lives.

                        Rgds
