Nokia 5800 Xpress Music — Memory Full

Hi I'm from Delhi. Since the day, Jan 28, 2009, I purchased this new Nokia 5800, I'm having serious problems with this device. I have already visited the nokia care at least 10 times since then... every time with a new and more serious problem. Earlier its earpiece was faulty, then it started hanging up, then auto restart problem, then sometimes some of its applications failed to start. But these days i'm facing the worst problem since the day I updated its software to latest version 30.0.011 on 28Aug2009. Now it is giving message " memory full, close some applications" at all times. Shortcuts on the home screen have disappeared and i'm unable to rsetore these as the command is not working for retoring the shortcuts. Two out of the three home screen themes are no longer working. The green hardware button has stopped working. I would recommend to everyone that please dont buy this product, if they dont wish to ruin their life.

My Nokia handset got damaged due to some water droplets and it was unable to start (before this handset was working perfectly)...
I went to nokia care and submitted my handset and my problem started then and there..they first reported that warranty expired as it was damaged by water; hence they will charge everything. I agreed and submitted, after 4-5 days they called that LCD got damaged so they will repair that, I approved. I waited for another 10 days and got replied that wait for more days. After next 7 days I enquired about the handset and they said, yes it is ready (instead of they letting me know, I was doing enquiry..what a service!!!) ..they told it is ready..after that they'd sent a sms..CHARGES were 3500 bucks!!!

I got the handset and it is running fine..just running..i dint said working...because after using that I got to know..person on other side unable to hear my voice...and more to that my camera stopped working...

Again I went back and they verified the issue and told that part of camera is damaged and will repair that..I also told them about voice not going on other side issue...they said they will repair...I submitted the handset...and got a reply that they will call me in 3-4 days to confirm the status..and CHARGES was supposed to be around 2000 bucks!!!

Now I waited for their call..and as expected never heard from them..I enquired them after 7 days and they said wait for 2 more days..after 2 days again I enquired and got the reply that your camera is now working...and when I asked about voice not going out issue..he told we DONT do that!! (WTH!)
and again enquiring they told ki we are not authorised to change that part...and that thing will go to company..and now charges will be somewhere 5500 BUCKS...##$!#$@#%^$%^#

if they have told this earlier to me then why the hell I should have asked them to change anything...I landed up almost giving 5k as of now and 5500 more for a simple problem...these guys sucks and I am not going to buy Nokia again or atleast will never get them corrected from these NOKIA service centers..these people are disgusting...just dont value the money of customers!

New cells come in 13000...

I am feeling frustrated and suggest everyone: please never go to Nokia service center in Aundh...they are not good people!

Nokia 5800 Xpress Music — Irritating phone; i wasted my money

Since i have purchased the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music in April last year at INR 17,500, it has not given me a single day to have peace of mind. I was under the impression that this is the brand on which u can rely woth closed eyes. But it's unfortunately the quality standards has decreased drastically. Sometimes i wonder whether this company has any quality checks in place. I was very excited when i purchased this phone but ever since this phone has proved that it's the most pathetic model Nokia has ever produced. 1) This phone restarts by itself which was conveyed to me as normal by the service centre representatives as they regularly receive such complaints from customers regarding such models. 2) Sometimes this phone starts charging by itself without any power supply, which is quite spooky. 3) It hangs every now and then. 4) Sometimes after i click a photograph it shows unable to open. 5) The Network disappears completely every now and then (i have a vodafone connection and it works fine on any other handset) 6) Internet is intermittent, it works at it's own will 7) the touch interface is really bad, if i click on one option it opens something else or doesn't do anything. 8) After i purchased this phone and did a software update i lost all my data and even the preloaded songs and videos showed locked, which were working fine earlier. I backed up the data but it didn't help even after synchronisation. Ultimately the service centre guy flushed the OS. 8) everytime i update the software a new problem arises. 9) GPS works intermittently 10) it's hard to browse a web page while surfing internet 11) the camera quality is really bad in low light 11) the service centre guys only suggest me to take the phone to them at regular intervals to flush the OS; which is the only solution, however that never helped either. They also stated that this model had many issues like this as reported by other customers as well.
I would like my money to be refunded or the set replaced as i am not all satisfied by Nokia and would never recommend others to buy it. The company took money for the pre loaded licensed videos and tracks which never worked. And flushing the software is not a permanent solution. I am also planning to log a complaint in consumer forum as i have been cheated by Nokia.

I have a 5800Xpress music, this is the sorriest excuse for a nokia...

xpress implies being fast...there is NOTHING fast about this phone, or its featured music application

it is NOT loud enough...there is NO direct button for the media/music player

Nokia maps is not accurate at all often 250 meters off from true position compared to my HTC touch pro of worst is 30 meters off target.

the 5800X camera is dismal at best it looks like taking a photo through an opaque plastic bag, the video is poor minus

now here is the true measure of a good device, ease o[censored]se
the 5800X is NOT easy to use, does not use phone memory/simcard/memory card memories together as with Nseries smart phones like my older reliable N72
The 5800X does not interface well with Nokia pc suite, it was made for the awful Nokia OVI suite
you need to register, set up an account, log in synchronize before you start
when it is time for an update, if you do not update, you are blocked out, ZERO CHOICE

all "free " applications will cost you money, it will ONLY access them via your simcard, you cant get them via Nokia website, so you pay for free.stuff...here is the kick in your balls when your not looking, you spent money using their free applications, and to use it again many, NOT all want to go online or you can not use them
2 weeks ago I did an update, not my phone can not access my account
I went to Nokia in Moscow Russia, the boys there tried to get my 5800X fully operational, after 3 hours they got nokia maps working again... stopped the unwanted and not asked for "voice command to stop turning my applications off
they too suggested I put a 5 week old phone into their service center

I will never buy another Nokia again they are mass producing garbage disguised as smartphones

I will give this turd of a nokia phone to my mother inlaw, she and my niece love 1 free game that came with it

I will get a HTC desire my buddies have them, they love them ... easy to use, good price, easy to update, interface with pc's or Macs...
truly free downloads from HTC, I already know their customer service people can and do solve problems either by phone/email or chat

my advice to anyone DO NOT BUY A NOKIA 5800 XPRESS MUSIC, IT IS A TURD IN THE PUNCHBOWL OF LIFE

I went for a Jumbo shop to buy a Samsung Star last week, but the guy there asked me to take Nokia 5233 instead of Samsung and he was very sure that the services are very good as compare to the Samsung. But on the very 2nd day after buying this phone, i am facing many problem. there is nothing in this set what he was saying or what it shows. Touch screen is even worse as compared to any other cheap chinese set, and after that i went to that retailer but he raised his hands by saying that we cant take guarantee of this set and then i proceeded to a nokia care. A lady told me that there is some software problem in this cell but then also m facing the same problem. Now i dont know what to do. I am just a student and i bought this cell from my 6 months savings and now m facing problems because of this.

I adviced to every body who is going to buy a new set that please dont go for Nokia specially for this worse Nokia 5233.

i would like draw your kind attention about a new product which was launched by nokia around 4 months ago
i.e nokia 5800 music xpress .
it was 19/feb 2009
the worst day of my life when a bought a brand new nokia 5800 from a nokia dealer in GURGAON.
on 20th of feb the phone got hanged and i have to take the phone to nokia care (sheetla wll delhi road )
they kept my phone for over several days then they returend it to me in proper condition. after few days the phone again get faulty again approched to nokia care (sheetla)..
and the story does not finishes here the phone get faulty again this time i took the transreciver to another NOKIA CARE (NSTANT SOLUTIONS) I WOULD ALSO LOKE TO DRAW UR KIND ATTENTION THAT THEY ARE ONLY INSTANT ON PAPERS. THAT ALL.
after 10 days they returned my handset
it was working properly only for few days after that it gets faulty again.
i hav done the same thing i.e gone to intant care where they gave me instant service ... they returned my set in two days ie for software upgradation.

all was working well some how the phone got switched OFF i walk down to insatant solution NOKIA CARE WHERE THEY TOLD ME THAT U HAV TO LEAVE YOUR SET FOR 15 DAYS AS IT WILL GO TO DELHI .

AS IN 3 TO 4 MONTHS THE PHONE HAVE GONE TO SERVICE CENTER EVERY MONTH .SO I WOULD LIKE U TO DO FEW DECISION TOWARDS MY SIDE ALSO.

I have purchased nokia 5800 mobile on may 12 2009
After one month o[censored]sing it was sowing display problem(this happened with thousand of other 5800 user)
As it was a hardware problem i gave it to nokia care centre they told me they will replace the LCD screen
in 10-15 days. so i gave them the hand set but still not got it back
when i called them they told me that it will take another 15 days
So i am fed up with nokia service in india
my freind who lives in hongkong got this problem solved in 2 hours

My brother baught nokia xpressmusic mobile in last month. Now it is having problem with its memory card slot. Memory card does not work. Intially I replaced card with new card but problem was still occuring with new memory card. Now today I have given to it nokia care center.

Nokia 5800 xpress music — SERVICE

Yesterday,i.e.on 7 sep,2009,i took my Nokia 5800 to the Nokia care centre in Pondicherry and explained them that this set has problem with display,besides it gets hung sometimes after finishing the call.My set is under warranty and i was issued a job card and was told to collect my set at around 1 PM.It was stated on the job card as well.
At around 12.45 PM,i called them to know about the status and i was told to call at 4 PM. I again called at around that time and after a heated discussion ,i was told that they will get back to me within an hour.There was no call from them.
So next day,i went to the NOKIACARE and was shocked to note that the set was still not ready.I was told that they will call me back within an hour or so and i can collect the set.They called at around 11.30 AM and i went to collect the set.I was given the set and was told that it is fine now.They fixed the battery and told me that they have fixed the problem.Since ,i was not carrying the SIM card with me i took the phone and on reaching my place tried to activate the same using my SIM card.It did not work and it displayed that it is OFFLINE.I went to NOKIACARE agian and explained the problem.I HAD BEEN USING THE SAME SIM CARD WITH THIS PHONE AS WELL AS WITH THE STANDBY PHONE I WAS USING WHILE MY PHONE WAS WITH NOKIA CARE.

Anyways,we tried the phone with another SIM and it worked.So,it went to my service provider and got a new SIM CARD after paying the costs.Again this phone is havning problem.Now the bottom three switches the green,white and red , are not working.

I am really fed up.

Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic — Poor Service and Response

I have the following problems with my newly purchased mobile Nokia 5800 S/N [protected], it cuts off sometimes while talking either when receiving or making a call, I cannot copy all contacts from the phone memory to the memory card it copies only 5 contacts and no more. Finally, whenever I dial a number and I want to redial it again the green bottom is not functioning, therefore I had to go to the recent calls to pick up the number and redial it. I took it yesterday to NOKIA Care at Dammam/ Saudi Arabia, they told me that it has a software problem and they need to format it to get off all these problems and I ha d to come after 8 hours to get it fixed. When I went to day to the center they gave it to me and told me that it has been repaired but when testing it at the center it turned to be still defective and it seems that nothing has been done to it. So, I complained to the center and they rechecked it again and told me that I am right and it needs to be taken to Jeddah Center to be fixed there and it will take 10 days plus the Eid holiday at Saudi Arabia which means a total of 3 weeks. To tell you the truth I am surprised with the level of service provided at this center and if they cannot handle such a little problem of software upload or device formatting then what kind of job they are supposed to do at the center. Just for your information me and my family members we have around 45 devices of different kind from NOKIA but after what I have seen today I am upset and I started losing the trust in NOKIA care which has driven me originally to buy NOKIA products.

Unethical behavior of Nokia care center (Instant Solutions, Gurgaon)
I am purchase a 5800 on 11-jan-09.i am given for repairing on dated 05-09-09 for (Display Blank) that time executive has told me u collect your cell on dt.07-09-09 but after that they told me display not available at market.Every day they told me day by day delay option.
So pls. told me what can i do for this situation

My name is Mohamad Hammoud from Lebanon, i Have a nokia 5800 Express music ,bought 3 month ago and supposed to be under warranty ,my phone speaker stoped working suddenly so i went to Nokia lebanon ("FCC for Nokia Care") which they supposed to fix directly and quickly.but what happened is that i gave them the phone 3 month ago and everytime i go to take it,they reply to come next week...As i know that Nokia have a better service and better after sale service

Nokia 5800 — Poor services

I am more than upset to own Nokia 5800, unfortunately the brand promises a lot but fails to deliver good services. I insist to shut down Nokia Priority Center located in Sector-15 Faridabad, Haryana. My handset at times gets switched off by itself and the people @ Nokia Priority ask me to bring it when I problem occurs, I would like to make it clear that I get no prior message before my cellphone betrays me in the middle of any conversation, so how can I bring it to the center at night or at office working hours? Its just been four months since I have purchased this unit with my hard earned money, AND THE PHONE IS TROUBLING . I have taken best of care for it but I am highly dissatisfied with the phone. Though my previous experience with nokia 5610 wasn't any good either but I still maintained my loyalty for the brand wasting Rs.13000 on Nokia 5800 but alas my experience is still the same.

Please stop making such rubbish units. Please help me.

Nokia — Worst service NOKIA CARE

The Worst service of Nokia care in Mehsana, Gujarat, India.Do you believe my mobile had a minor problem. In Nokia Care I asked for payment of 750rs ,Wheres I repaired my problem in outdide repairing center just rupees 50 only.There was just a minor problem in my mobile.What the !!!!service center this is....The fact is today I visited to Nokia care, with a problem with my mobile which is 6681, Problem was that my mobile is not charged.After reached their Nokia Care Service.I took a token number.Up to this ok.....I wait and wait for two hours when my turn come I go inside and talk to the service man about my problem.He asked me to wait for again 15 minute for informing estimate service cost.After wait for a long time I again go inside, than they told me to about the estimate which was 750 Rs.And delivery date will be 2 to 3 days.Surprised .....I didn't expect that.At that time I thought that better ask to outside mobile service provider may be there will be low cost.I decided to better back my mobile.But they ask me for another 55 Rs for enquiry for estimate.Why?????? I have got angry.I told them about that why...and after not doing anything I gave them 55 Rs.I came out side and went to a oitside mobile repairing center.Do you believe they repaired my mobile within 15 minute and service charge was only 50 rs.Then what do you think about the Nokia care Service. Before, I thought to buy a new Nokia mobile.But now I will never buy Nokia Mobile.

This complaint is for NOKIA-5800 Express Music and nokia care center.
I am facing lot of problem in my cell phone from last 2-3 months, for which I visited nokia care so many times.
Every time I visit nokia care with any problem , they just have One and Only One solution i.e FORMAT the cell phone.
And just within 24 hours the problem start again.

In last 2 months my cell phone got formatted min 3-4 times.
Every time I have to take back-up (very tedious job).

Last year i purchased NOKIA E51.As i really like nokia phones this phone came out to be blunder for me.After 2 months i got some problem in the phone and i went to nokia care i was not satisfied..after every 2 months i got some new problem in my phone and everytime nokia care people created some kind of mess. Finally i had given my phone to the service center(nokia care- kohat enclave) and they told me that the phone will be sent to the company . Today morning(date:[protected] I caught train from Mira road to Borivali at 10:32 am. When I reached borivali station I found that my mobile was not in my pocket. Any one has picked it from my pocket, because of rush in train I came to know after getting down on platform.
So please help me to getting my mobile back if possible.

I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF MTN FOR THE PAST DECADE AND ONLY TO FIND MYSELF SITTING WITH A NOKIA 6710 NAVIGATOR THE MOST CRAPIEST PHONE IN THE MARKET. I HAD MY PHONE SENT BACK TO THE STORE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED WHILE IN AND OUT OF GAURANTEE AND FOUND THE PROBLEM FIXED BUT FUNNY IT COMES BACK WITH OTHER MALFUNCTIONS .
