I had purchased a Nokia 2505 CDMA phone in the month of May. Within 4-5 months, it started giving me problems. My phone used to get freezed and used to switch off automatically. When I tried to charge my phone, it didn't charge up. Instead, it switched off intermittently and I was not able to use the phone at all. I took my phone to the Nokia service centre in Lower Parel as that was the closest known service centre, however, that service centre was closed. I went to the Bandra West Nokia Service Centre and I was asked to visit the Borivali West Nokia Service Centre where the CDMA phones are repaired. Before repairing the phone, I was told to back-up the phone numbers because they would be deleted while the phone is being repaired. Considering that I had around 150-200 phone numbers, its a big trouble for the numbers being deleted and to add them again. I ate the humble pie and gave the mobile phone for repair. Even they were not able to repair the phone and told me that they have to sent it to the Nokia headquarters to repair it. I was a bit worried as to what has happened and whether it would ever work again. I was told that I had to wait for 15 days for the phone to be repaired. I was shocked to say the least that I have to wait 15 days for the phone to be repaired. However, the worst was still to come.
When I enquired about the phone about 15-20 days ago, I was told that the phone has been repaired and that the battery was faulty. However, since the battery was faulty, they couldn't replace it in spite of being within the warranty. Since I didn't want to get into an altercation with the Nokia Service Centre people, I asked them what is the next course of action. They responded by saying that I needed to contact the store from where I had purchased the phone from. I went there and even they couldn't help me. I was totally lost and didn't know what to do. I went to the store again and asked him what is the cost of a new battery and was told the price was Rs. 1200. I was totally shocked and was left speechless.
I want to file a complaint against this poor service provided by Nokia.
Nokia E 90 — Warranty support on Mobile phone
I purchased a NOKIA E 90 phone from a reputed dealer in New Delhi in November 2007. In about 15 days of the purchase the phone started misbehaving and on the 9th of the December the mike stopped working. There was no AUDIO OUT from my handset. On the 11th of Dec. the phone was given to Nokia Care in O-9 Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. The compalint Job slip no is[protected]/071211/2. They told me the handsetr will be returned in 6 to 7 working days. Ever since I have been calling them and now it is more than 2 weeks but still my phone has not been returned till now.
I wonder what a company means by warranty? Is t=it ethical to keep a customers phone for such a long time under the name of warranty support?? I spent Rs. 38,500.00 on the phone and since 2 weeks I still have no asurance when the handset will be rectified and returned?
It should be the responsibility of the company to look into the matter and replace a handset if it is not possible to repair the same even in 15 days!!
I request that the issue be resolved ASAP and hope this mail will reach the right people behind the desks.
Waiting to hear from someone soon,
