I would like to inform you that a guy claiming he is Nigerian Citizen named Patrick K Barnett messages people selling items on olx and asks them their number and says that hel initiate the payment through bank of america, to which an email is received from a fake email of bank of america, demading that unless we do not upload the shipment tracking receipt of the item, they will not releasse the payment.
he says he wants it for an orphanage and hes from maryland nigeria
this happened to me yestrday night where i shared my account details to this person.i found this guy fishy as he was very upfront in transferring me the money amount and told me to send the laptop through fedex to a nigeria adress.
i was of the thought that unless i do not get the money i will not send my laptop as i could smell a sense of deception.my gut feeling became strong when i received the email which looked so fake and unprofessional from bank of america with red and green highlights and it demanded me the below two condtions:
1)You have to reply to this message with the shipment tracking number/shipment scanned receipt before we can activate this fund to your account, or

2)Pay to the courier agent representative account and forward us the receipt of payment of ₹8.000.00INR including your home address and mobile no so as to visit your residential address for collection, IN PARTNER WITH (INTERNATIONAL COURIER SERVICE DTDC, DHL, FEDEX, INDIAN POST & UPS) immediately the courier agent payment receipt is received we released you fund in less than "ONE HOUR".

NOTE:You are to reply with either of the two procedures so as to place an order to india government banking system for "Creditation" of fund into your account.

i understood that this a fraud message and thought of researching this on internet and typed his name patrick k barnett olx fraud.
i came across so many complaints against him filed on consumer compalints india.so many people have been cheated by this guy.
luckily i did not send my apple laptop worth 70, 000 i would have ruined my life.
so i request you sir please look into this matter.this guy must be cheating so many innocent people on olx and quicker.
i have attached some screenshots of the emails and watssap conversation with him for your refernce.

i think there is a big gang doing this racket

I have came across same issue today but with an American named JAMES SCOTT who want to buy my phone for his son who study in amity university India.He as well showed me some bank details showing he had send money to the account i shared and since i thought him a fraud, i told him that we are not sending phone to u sorry sir.Then he replied like he is going to FBI and CBI will reach your doorstep and u will know the power of law and u will spend your entire life in jail.

This person munnanbhai ratlamwala he is a fraud person and he told I had couriered the iPhone but I didn't got any thing he is a fraud person please return my money he had sended a mobile bill I'd proof and he also asked my I'd proof I had clicked photo pllll return my money he called me by this no [protected]...he is a fraud person. He should be cached some action should be taken on him ...pllll don't send any of the money to this person

I have been continuously trying to post a free ad of my motorcycle for sale and without any reason it is falling under the moderated column, i am a regular user of OLX, and have never faced any issue as such, but this time its really irritating, I want the management to look through this issue as early as possible and resolve it so that I can continue trading or might have to shift to another site.

Your Ad id: [protected] was discarded from our site reason being duplicate Ad.

You already have an active Ad for the item in a form of Ad id: [protected].

An Ad is removed as duplicate if:

You delete an active Ad & post a similar new Ad within 30 days of Ad duration.

Try to post the same Ad in various cities.
To avoid duplicate Ads:

For similar products or services: Keep the titles and description completely different. Remember, two Ads having more than 70% similarity are deleted as duplicate Ads.

Posting in multiple cities: Do not post the same Ad in different cities as they will be deleted by the system as duplicate Ads. An Ad is visible India!

Hi i have ordered puppy near my hometown of 8000 so he asked me payment of 4000 so that he will be assure to send puppy but aftr payment he is not picking calls which indicate him as a fraud so take strict against him because it will make more money through cheating on olx so we want him to get punished and even try to Connect olx through aadhar card or voter id so that smooth transaction takes place between buyers and sellers so that nobody cheats anyone on olx beacusr now they harld collect any information ol olx while signing the olx account

I found an add in OLX and spoke to the person named Collins, who pretended to be a customs officer. Another lday, named Priyanka also involved in this cheated saying Customs officer. They asked me to transfer Rs.49, 900 to the below account number to clear the car from VIP parking.

Now they don't pick the call and I found to be cheated.

I sold out my phone from OLX. My ad id is [protected].
I sold my phone to the person who number is [protected]. His name is Rohit.

He paid me 27, 100/-. As per discussion 28, 000/- was final price. He said, I will transfer the money when he checked the phone. Rs. 900/- is remaining. This transaction is done on 30 Dec 2016. But now, it's 10 Jan 2017. But he is not giving me my money back.
He is not receiving the phone. I also dropped message. But still no reply. Please escalate this issue ASAP.

So I have send him a message, he send his mobile no.[protected].and after that I send him messega on whatsapp and request him to send pictures of camera, so he sends me pictures of camera and also picture of the box.i was satisfied with the camera he told me i[censored] r interested in camera u will have to make advance payment then I will courier you the camera and all accessories. So I was agreed I will make the payment of Rs 27000 as advance and remaining balance on receiving of courier. Therefore he provided me karur vyasya bank account no.[protected] Account holder name :Chetan kumar R Sajjan.Hubli Branch.along with the copy of his Pan card and adhar card and I also send him copy of my pen and adharcard.
I made a online transfer on 8th january 2017 from my hdfc bank vide reference id.N[protected]
He told me he will courier the same after receipt of money.So confirmation message come that money has been transferred. He told me he will courier the same in the evening.after that we keep in touch on whats app at regular interval..Thereafter im trying to contact his phone, his mobile his switched off and messages on whatsapp is not delivering.So I think he cheated on me by taking my 27000/- So it is requested to you kindly look into matter and take the necessary action and provide the details of that person (who posted that Add )available with OLX records in order to move forward.

Hi guys,

This same guy had one more add on OLX for canon 70D he did put his location in Delhi but when i asked him to meet he said i live in bhubaneswar so we cant meet. So i asked him so how will the product will be delivered to me he said "I can ship it to your address using dtdc premium service" Rest you can read our whats app conversion i did attached it as screen shot.

After our conversion on whatsapp...

After me saying "I can only do the check thing only" he called and explained that.

He can't send without an advance and "Check: thing is to problematic from his side but i said if the Check does not clear you can do a legal case on me under the "Section 138 in The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881" but he kept on insisting that i should do the online transfer so i said ok but i can only transfer you 5k and rest upon delivery of the product. He said no send me minimum of 11k so i said i can only do 8k so he agreed on that and i said ok let me think and by tonight i will send you the money in the meantime send me your account details and name so he sent it. With the name "Chetan r sajjn" so i googled it and i found this post and just to confirm i asked hi to send his id proof and that stupid guy sent the same Adhara card. So after that i wrote this and he is still waiting for my reply.

Just adding his account details and number so google can pick this up and if some one try's too google it they will find this article.

Olx people are so unprofessional they have banned my account for no reason why they advertise so heavily if they do not want people to sell on their site i just posted some crystal items to sell and service to sell email id is juthani.[protected]@gmail.com. I was travelling to Dubai and accessing account from there to purchase stuff for my family in India.. I didn't done anything illegal at all.

I was searching for boxer puppy. I had seen an ad for boxer puppy selling and contacted the ad belonging number.
for the puppy he asked to send 9000/- online transfer, i had send the money but he is not giving the puppy and my money.
The ads with this mobile number is fake.

Cash on delivery was the option he said:- my family receive the parcel and we have already doubt, but we receive parcel, postman said once you open the parcel amount will not be refund, so post man taken the amount, in front of postman we opened a parcel nothing was found inside the parcel,

Ashish sharma thru olx at the rate of rs. 35000/-. I am a user of OLX India, have been posting in Skates and Sports Equipments etc. The website is apparently being managed from India. It takes lot of time to prepare a quality ad with original pictures of the object. I had posted some ads after wasting lot of time and resources. Today, just with a single click, OLX team removed my all ads without showing any reason thereof. They even blocked / banned my OLX account. This sort of attitude of OLX moderators is highly objectionable and totally uncalled for. I request to take immediate remedial steps and get restored my OLX account and the ads which I have had posted using my precious time.

DEFICIENCY OF SERVICE

I bought additional package for 3 items after my 5 free items were over. However OLX accepted 1 item only. I was denied to post 2 additional items for which I had paid.

This is for all the people who are finding dogs on olx... There are a lot of dealers who are not at all genuine n they loot u o[censored]r money... All guy named sunny phone number [protected] and another guy named shubham phone number [protected] they have posted a lot of ads regarding lhasa apso and other breed of dogs they promised me they wud take 5000 advance n then deliver the dog n the rest amount via cash when delivered... I did a neft transaction they give bank account details of different people and after they recieve they put off their phones. Please be cautious
