Yesterday on 4th April 2015 we visited Reliance Digital store in Borivali (West), Mumbai to purchase a washing machine. Staff at the store, her name is Dipika offered us a display piece of washing machine Whirlpool White Magic Royale 6512SD at a discounted price of Rs 11, 160 (the price and other details were mentioned there on a cardboard). We liked the deal and booked the washing machine and made initial payment so that nobody else purchase it. For this booking, the store staff gave us some gift card slip instead of any booking receipt.
We went to the store today on 5th April 2015 morning to take the delivery of the machine. Everything went smooth, we bought trolley and washing machine cover. The staff took our signature on one declaration form as well. We also decided on the delivery date. However, at the time of payment, the staff at the store asked us to pay Rs 15, 000 and told us that today the price has changed and we need to pay higher price. We were shocked and told them that we booked the same machine yesterday at Rs 11, 160 and even today morning the display price was the same. The store manager Mr. Saurabh Gupta and Ms. Chetna told us that max they would reduce the price by around Rs 1, 000. Same, Ms. Chetana on another issue started boasting her junior that her commitment is everything, showing the double standards of the store staff. This is the same store, which hardly anybody in the Borivali visits and we were thinking why it was so. Now today we came to know why nobody goes there to buy anything. That is because the sheer cheating of the staff. It was unfortunate on Reliance's side as well, as we were thinking of purchasing Samsung smart tv which was available at Rs 39, 900 with a hefty discount. I am pretty sure, the staff would have changed the price of the same when we were about to purchase the product.
We asked the store manager (Saurabh Gupta) to show us complaint box but he gave us visitor's book and asked us to write whatever we want. This visitor book had comments other than complaints with no serial numbers. Although we mentioned our complaint in that book, we don't believe that it would come to you as the page has no serial number and could be torn apart. Forget the senior staff, even the lower staff of the store is very smart and he has written complaint date[protected], proving that the whole store is fraud and cheats its customers again and again. We have clicked the photo of our complaint in that so called visitor's book. We also complained on the customer care number where we came to know that Reliance Digital has a facility of complaint box. We wasted more than 2 hours in the store, thinking that we would purchase the washing machine. However, not just they wasted our valuable time but also blatantly cheated us with no apologies on their faces. It’s a shame that you appoint such a staff which has no value of commitments and could easily cheat anybody.
