DATE 12/01/09
I have booked four confirmed tickets in SG 321 for 7th February 2009 from Kolkata to Bagdogra. To confirm the time schedule of departure, I contacted the site of spicejet a number of times after giving my confirmation number. However, everytime, the communication is that the confirmation number does not match with the other information provided to the site. This is ridiculous as everytime I have given the correct information. Why this short of miscommunication and harassment to a bonafide customer? That too, when the scedule has been changed (from 12.00 hrs as printed in my ticket to the present schedule of 13.45 hrs)?
i have booked 04 tickets by name vivek singh, bharti kotwal, anandita, adishwar for 08.05.2009 from Jammu to Srinagar but till time i have not recieved any information about status. please send details as i have verly less time to catch the flight

I bought a spicejet ticket on 19/9, successfully for the first time. I tried to buy another ticket for a different sector, but has not been successful from yesterday until now. The website froze each time. It has this message at the bottom: We log the IP addresses of the visitors on our website for security reasons.Your IP is : 60.53.93.123
© Copyright SpiceJet 2007.

What can I do to overcome the problem? I need to buy a few more ticket, quite urgently.

Thanks.

This is regarding request number # 221159 refunds against cancellation. I have called on [protected] multiple times. Nobody is picking call sometimes. If they have picked call than did not reply properly or cut the call. They did not transfer the call to their supervisor. I have cancelled my ticket for Jaipur to Chennai on Nov-13 but amount has not refunded yet. I am highly dissatisfied by this type of behave. I will make complaint in consumer court if my money will not be refunded till tomorrow Nov-21st .

Spice jet airlines, India — Incorrect charges

I bought a return ticket for two from spicejet for journey fm Delhi to Coimbatore and back. The payment was made through credit card and the company by charged me twice for the ticket amount. The excess amount charged was returned the next day, but in the mean time my credit limit on the card was exceeded due this over charging of nearly 23, 000/-. Because of this my creidt card company charged me 500/- for overcredit, for which spicejet refuses to accept any responsibility. I find this pretty funny. Could you please look into the matter. Regards Mr M S Sehrawat.

I was holding a booking with Spicejet from Delhi to Jammu on 21st April 7.20 AM. The flight was cancelled and I came to know of this only once IO reached the Airport. I had come to India from Dubai on a planned trip which was spoilt by the AIrline. I am attaching below the replies which they have provided. I hope I can get a suitable compensation from them for all the troubles they created for me.

Thanks for your feedback. I had made a Net booking and had accordingly scheduled my Programme in India. Only on reaching the Airport was i informed that the flight was cancelled. The excuse given by your counter staff was that since I had given an International number on the booking they did not inform me on the cancellation. Is it my mistake? The booking website should clearly mention that International booking will not be entertained.

I flew chennai to delhi by SG302 flight on 22nd June. I felt a very bad service on board. I asked for a coffee for which i was charged 20 and i got only coffee no biscuits. And the coffee is terrible (Be aware that sometimes Health department officials happens to travel). I did called Crew Mr. Ajeet and asked him for the biscuits since i wanna fulfill my breakfast and he said sorry not available. Few seconds later i could see some female crew passing the same biscuits to the same male crew. I am fine if it is not available but saying no to passengers with stock made me to understand the very bad service and no flexibility in flight service + no info about take off from the pilot.. I felt bad to fly this flight... and ever i choose this until some emergency stiuation falls. I am shocked to see spicjet competing on rates with kingfisher, Jet. Airindia for Aug bookings. I would advise all my friends to choose the best and keep spice to last ... Mr.Ajeet i warn you for such misbehaving to passenger .. you are just an employee to serve us and you are not fit to be in this hospitality industry. please keep up this code of conduct.. This includes respect for human values, individual dignity, and adherence to honest, ethical and professional conduct. ... Senior officials please take care what is being supplied to passengers and do evaluation. i interms thought of suing this but i have lot better flight options and have money to take best flights and have no time to run behind this cheap behavior in flight.

Dear Sir,

Further to what explained in the earlier mails

I got a call saying that the bag has been transferred from Goa to Delhi, and there are no flights from delhi to hyderabad to night by spice jet so it can not be transferred to night .

I have got some important document which is required ASAP, there are no calls and repetition of the same information whenever I call .

May I request some body to look after it ?

Dear Sir,

This is to inform you about the proceedings

I have been calling to HYD, DLHI and Customer care since morning, in reciprocation I received one call from Delhi Airport saying my luggage was found at Goa and they are trying to direct it to Delhi .

Then I called up your customer care, I talked to Kamal, she said she would know the status and get back to me which she had never .

I called up again, after 3 call droppings I could able to connect to Shalini she said she can not route it to hyd as because there is n spice jet flight, I would receive the bag on wednesday which I declined to agree that made her to treat my call unprofessional and she said to talk to her senior, Ms Niti Aurora said it is out of her departments jurisdiction, only customer relations would take care . I cannot reach them, only they can revert .

Then I talked to Hyderabad team, Mr Qutub said there is a flight at 18:15 arrival of jet, he would try to connect in the same .

Most surprisingly there is no mail revert from the spice jet barring that automated message.

Please suggest or let me know these are common I may have to accept it .

My request would be about the information of the bag, and when I am receiving it ?

Regards

Dear Sir,

This is to update you

I had a word with Mr Ajay ( Hyderabad ) he said he doesnot have any information as Mr Raman From delhi has not informed him anything, he said you may contact him if you want any information

I took his number and called up, Mr Raman said when I checked in and came back for the luggage he was assuming that the bag was loaded in the flight and thats why he said it has been loaded in the flight to avoid any last moment delay

He said then and now he could not able to locate the bag so prior to the flight landing at hyderabad he has informed the duty manager there may be a mishap to Mr Eshwan who is the duty manager

Mr Raman said he is getting the CC Tv footage and trying to locate my baggage, then he has called me up and said there is one bag found in GOA which somebody informed him but information was not complete and he said the mail which he had received only describes it is a black bag with out any other spec, tomorrow the airport is going to open at 9 AM then I can expect some news .

Unfortunately I have been continuously calling and enquiring about the bag and there was no response from the airlines side who belong to the service industry,

tomorrow morning I would receive a sorry mail I believe from the customer care ...wonderful .

Awaiting your reply on the same . Please do not apologize, that would be the heinous job under the sun you could do.

As per the latest information the bag has not been traced in either Delhi, Coimbatore, Vizag and Hyderabad, Information was given by Mr Ajay ( Hyderbad )

This is to inform you there are no follow ups from the spice jet side, I found one lady at Hyderbad Airport really tried to help me up ( Ms Parvathy ) but till now they could not able to locate the luggage .

Requesting you to intervene and get it done .

In delhi airport I found a total mayhem in the spice jet counter I checked in and then realized my IPOD is in the check in baggage which I immediately informed to the concerned counter and I was steered to a person named RAMAN, he said you need wait for half an hour to get your luggage after waiting there for 45 mins they started saying it is difficult to get your luggage and you may miss the flight, then Mr Raman informed me that he is going to check the same and then disappeared . Another gentleman intervened named Mr Janardan and pushing me for catching the flight .

They said forget about your luggage you may miss your flight as well and also said they do not have any responsibility against any valuables inside the check in baggage .

NOBODY HAS RESPONDED AFTER THESE MANY MAILS < THIS IS THE SERVICE YOU CAN EXPECT FROM SPICEJET
I am very much worried about my bag and to my surprise they are not responding even . It is a sample of the automated response which I receive from spice jet .

I believe the gentleman who has made a complaint in the recent past atleast he has received some responses but unfortunately I have not received a single mail or phone call .

They have made a system you can only access to the call centre but not the offficials .

Lost baggage found but valuables missing from SPICE JET, no reciprocation from the customer relations

Dear Sir,

To update you on the status

I received a call from Mr Ajay Hyderabad yesterday, saying that they could able to get the bag at hyderabad by Indigo and would be sending to me ASAP and finally it has reached me at 2.15am in the morning, I am grateful to Mr Ajay for the support .

I checked the bag and found everything intact barring my IPOD ( Philips, Go Gear Arena along with the headphone and data cable which was placed in a bag blue colour, and the pod is black coloured) .

I immediately called to hyderabad office and found one gentleman on duty Sandip, informed him the same and above all I experienced infront of your Driver, Sandip suggested me to ascribe the same in the pink slip of baggage irregularity report and asked me to keep the white page in response to the absence of my I POD .

To day morning I got a call from hyderbad office as well from Ms Ekta from Customer relations saying they may not be liable to such kind of mishap, reason is putting valuables inside the checkin baggage is not expected .

In response to that I would like to remind you,

On 29th after checking in and putting the luggage in I went for the security check and immediately reminded off about the IPOD in my checkin bag so cancelled the boarding pass and went to the counter, reported that I wanted to put something inside the check in bag and please help me getting the same . They issued a new boarding pass also .

I was introduced to Mr Raman and said he would take care of the same, and Mr Raman asked me to wait for half an hour saying we are trying to recover your baggage from the belt .

Then after sometime he told that it has been uploaded in the flight and it is difficult to get it back, then I told him I wanted to take out the i pod please help me out .

He tried his level best to get the same, he could not, then he went by self and called a lady ( Who was there in the counter, I may recognize her by face) said it is inside the flight he has confirmed and then said it can not be taken out . Mr Janardan I believe who is a manager was present there and he witnessed the entire episode and he intervened and said it has been uploaded, if you further delay you may miss the flight . Then I again requested him that I have my I POD in the checkin baggage, he said nothing can be done, you go other wise you would miss the flight or you will have to take tomorrows flight as because we do not have any flight tonight .

Then I had a hot argument, he said we cant help getting the luggage and it is final, beyond this any thing is your wish and we can not delay the flight, so I ran off to catch the flight .

Now I have couple of questions

1 Mr Raman confirmed me my luggage has been uploaded in SG237 on 29th nov then how the luggage goes to GOA, where the flight route was Delhi, HYd and coimbatore ?

Do I consider people have tried to fool passenger to cut down there extra load of work to search the bag ? I waited there in the counter 40 mins they have searched could not able to locate the baggage thats why said it has been uploaded in 237 ?

When today I discussed with the customer relations I smelt a rat about my integrity perceived by Spicejet, answer to that is please check with Mr Janardan, Mr Raman, The lady who was in the counter and a Spice jet employee ( Well built guy, whos name I do not know ) however if the answer is negative, please check the scanner to screen the bag, and point B where it has been delivered ask the driver ( As The bag was not sealed, we have opened, took out entire content of the bag in front of the driver and reported then and there to Sandeep, the proof is that what I have written in the pink slip)

Do I have to explain anything more ?

It is surprising I have not received any response after so many mails ?

I believe spicejet takes people at their disposal . Please suggest My way forward ?

I am very very disappointed with the behavior of the junior crew members Ms.Aradhna and Ms.Shivani present on the flight SG-46 from Kathmandu to Delhi on the 27th January. They misbehaved with me and my first trip with Spicejet has been a nightmare. I have always been travelling with Indigo and Indigo is hundred times better. It would be very good if the Spicejet crew members on board are humble and act more professional with the passengers on board.

With regards

My family travelled on the 22nd January from Delhi to Kathmandu, and due to some reasons I was not able to come with them on the same flight. My flight was rescheduled for the 23rd January 8:40am flight. I was not able to board this flight and my ticket was cancelled due to lack of identity proof. I rebooked the flight for the same date for 3:30pm. I was to be refunded the money of the cancelled flight within 6-7 working days. Now it has been a month, but still my money has not been refunded. I have been calling Spicejet repetedly and everytime your executives give lame excuses and apologise for the delay. I want my money to be refunded till tomorow. If not so I am afraid I will have to file a legal complaint against your company... leading to an unpleasant situation. So it would be better if the money is refunded till tomorrow...or else Spicejet would be responsible to pay the interest charged on me.

Regards
Mr.Manoj Sharma

My husband had a flight from Mumbai to delhi on 7 th march 2012 at 6:10pm and we reached the airport at 5pm. There we came to know that the flight got delayed. Before that we did receive any intimation regarding this. The new departure time was 7:55pm. So he went back to office as he had left some work pending just to catch the flight on time. But this time due to heavy traffic jam we reached the airport at 7:10pm unfortunately there was a huge que in the entrance gate too. So by the time he reached to get his boarding pass it was 6:30pm and the staff there refused to give him the pass as he was late. Instead of his request they didn't allow him to go. When we asked them to refund the amount they just refused but said that they can adjust the amount if he will board the next flight. We requested them to adjust the fair with the return ticket but they just said no. This is very disheartening as we are a regular fliers of this airline. The staff who were present there were not at all cooperative. It seemed they were doing favour to us. I am very much disappointed wid this behavior of the airline personnel. I[censored] could please help us my husband's PNR is XYJJAB. I would be very happy if you could help us get our money back.

Hi,

I was on return flight from Varanasi to Mumbai via Delhi on 30th April 2008. I had with me my complete familty inclusive of my 57 yrs old heart patient mother and 1.7 years old son. The carrier on which we boarded was having problems with 1 of the AC. To our surprise this airline was flying this aircraft for complete day with this problem. On top of it, airlines was not courteous enough to inform this to passengers boarding from Delhi to Mumbai. The crew members were having common answers like "this is temporary problem", "we will be comfortable at certain altitude" etc.
Net effect: My son was suffering from suffocation for more than 2 hrs and was crying like hell. My mother was sweating. If any unfortunate event would have happened who would have been responsible? Does compensation solves all the problems?

Does any one know whom to contact to cancel license for this carrier? Please help me. I would like to get to route of this.

Thanks,
Swapnil Choudhari

I had booked a to and fro flight (MUMBAI-KOCHI-MUMBAI) on Spicejet for 4 May and return on 6 May. I had booked this ticket in first week of April. However in the third week of April I got a message that both the flight have been cancelled. I checked with the customer care and they said that there was some work going on in Cochin airport which is clashing with the Spicejets timings (Between 10am - 1 pm was my flight) and hence they had to cancel the flights.
But, there are other flights (Airdeccan, Indigo) which are flying to Kochi during that period and their flights are not cancelled. Also when I requested the customer care to send me a copy of the letter which they have received from Kochi airport, they said they cannot send it.
Shouldn't spicejet share this information (letter from Kochi airport) with its customers?
I think since the recent fuel price increase it may not be viable for the company to service this sector and as a result they have cancelled the flights, and they are giving strage reason so that it can be accomodated under their policy

My Luggage has been mishandled by SPICEJET while on flight DEL-BLR-DEL BY SPICEJET. I lodged formal complaint (# CR/27951/2008 ) with airlines on BLR airport.

I am trying to contact SPICEJET about my complaint via email and telephone. But my emails (7th Jan and 12 Jan ) has not been responded by airline.

I am also not able to talk to any of the SPICEJET representatives on the telephone numbers provided by airlines, these numbers has not been responded by anyone even if you hold it for tens of minutes.

Today on[protected] I again try but result all in vein. Then I find out Local BLR SPICEJET number to talk. After talking about 2 minutes, my call has been disconnected or disconnected by accident and after that number was switched off([protected])

SG-285 from Bangalore to Ahmedabad dated Jan 31 2014 is cancelled, I just got a email simply saying it's cancelled for operational reason.
We booked in advance of 3 months to save the money and you come today and say it is cancelled and does not even have to courtesy to explain the reason. You do not even care to mention what happens to the return ticket if somebody booked it, would that be informed when you wish to do so. If I have to book it today I have to pay 15-20K extra for one way, I am not sure how much extra I need to pay if you decide to cancel the return flight.I planned it properly and I am in no way responsible for the cancellation so who should bear the extra costs here? If you dint had your flight I would have booked with someone else more reliable who does not have these operational reasons just like that.

You let people book the tickets and cancel if it does not work out for you simply and say call us for a refund, why do we need to ever call you, is not it that everybody want the refund? or you just refund to people who calls and make some money out of it too.

Hi All...I had chosen Spicejet for my travel from bangalore to Hyderabad on 14th April 2008. To my surprise and just at the last minute, the staff informed us that the Flight has been cancelled. Thats fine...but when I contacted the ground staff for alternatives, they just asked me to take next day's flight, which was not acceptable for most of the passengers including me as I had to travel on that day at any cost. We were not able to get a clear cut information as to what was even going on. The ground staff moved from one corner of the Airport to other without any updates. Once when we interfere they inform us saying that the Airline has a tie up with Indigo airlines and the Flight is full, but when one of the Passenger checked with the Indigo counter, they are able to issue tickets. So, in this way we had to run from one pillar to other and by this time we lost almost 2 hrs. The staff were reluctant to book us in other flights and they were just saying that "Please come and board tomorrow's flight". We had to plead to the staff frequently and only then they give some info on the other alternatives and that too they say its not gauranteed..they said "You have to wait until we say something..." and by this time we almost lost 3 hrs. Finally they were able to book only few people on indigo and all others were left unattended. Is this the way SpieceJet handle their customers? Is this what their customer satisfacton motto is? I would like to inform U all that please ensure to make other alternatives, when such situations occur as these Low cost airline SpiceJet will not even bother on any kind of request to put forth...All the best and I hope we need to be very careful when choosing an Airline...

Do let me know what needs to be done when such a situation occurs

I booked a ticket with SpiceJet on its website for the sector Delhi-Pune with travel date 13th march (fare 500 + taxes 2075 = total price 2575 paid by credit card).

I did not fly due to a personal reasons and was unable to inform Spicejet 2 hrs prior to the flight time for a reschedulement as per their requirement for which they charge an amount.

I called the airline call center requesting them for a refund of the tax amount i.e.Rs 2075 since it is not payable to the airline but government on flying. SpiceJet says only 225 can be refunded (the passenger service fee) and the rest would be forfieted. They cannot even reverse this amount to the card but would hold it with them as a credit in my name.

The base fare was 500. Spicejet says in its terms and conditions on its webpage http://www.spicejet.com/tnc.asp - "Bookings are non-refundable: Failure to show up for the flight at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure will result in the fare being forfeited".

As a frequent flier with various airlines, I have knowledge that Jet, Sahara airlines and few others pay back the entire taxes and even 10% of the airline base fare for a 'no-show' or no flying and no information till the time of departure of flight.

Hence i dispute the logic that should cause Spicejet to not pay me back the taxes amount for a flight (service) that i have not availed at all.

They can only have a right on their fare - high or low, not on the tax & fee component to the government. It must be noted that airlines always advertise their fare as Rs 0 or Rs 500 etc. never mentioning the tax of Rs 2025 upwards that anyhow will be levied on the customer. How can they then forfiet the tax portion under any arbitrary company policy of theirs? SpiceJet has duped many customers who are not aware of other airlines. I am contemplating lodging a complaint with the Consumer Forum.

Low cost airlines cannot get away by harrassing hapless consumers merely because they have the tag 'low cost'!!

Tax refunds of low cost airlines — Tax refunds of low cost airlines

Is it legal for low cost airlines to refuse refund of govt taxes on booking cancellation and provide only a credit note to a customer ? Its tax, so they cant retain the tax amount with them and force a customer to fly with them again later to utilise the amount or lose it.
I had a flight from Jaipur to Kolkata that departs at 7:00pm. 2hours before the departure I called up their toll free number [protected]. There is an automated teller on the line that accepts the date and flight number and tells you the departure time. The teller mentioned the flight was at 1918hrs. On the basis of this, I reached the Airport around 6:30pm. This time the security checks were going on, and the SpiceJet counter was closed. They were not allowing any check-ins. The flight was on schedule to depart at 7PM.
I had to get the next days ticket which was pretty expensive, 5400/-. They agreed to favor me and adjust the amount I already paid, which was 2700/- only with additional 750/- charges for the adjustment/transaction fee.
I endedup paying alot just because of the faulty teller. This is disappointing.

I bought 3 spice jet tickets on the net Bangalore delhi bangalore.
At the time of purchase I was offered what I thought was a very useful domestic travel insurance covering much dreaded oft occurring events of travel on these budget airlines like ,Trip Interruption,Trip Cancellation,Baggage Loss-Checked,Flight Delay,Common Carrier Delay,etc(http://www.spicejet.com/tata_aig_productdescription.asp) in collaboration (collusion?) with TATA AIG .

Spice did not transport us as scheduled on Bangalore to Delhi for their own operational reasons.
The best they gave us was "Credit" refund for that and a credit shell for the return journey, though they had received the entire amount as cash. I tried recovering the amounts confident ( totally misplaced as it turns out to be) that the Great name and reputation TATA AIG
would refund the amounts under Trip Interruption,Trip Cancellation. Since September through umpteen emails to all levels at both spice and Tata.
Now come the worms out of the internet woods- as exclusions in the 27 page 190 kb policy wordings which no one checks when the product description is so attractive-.
The email link to domestic travel insurance at Tata has demised, You guessed right, they have not paid. Worse odds than Las vegas roulette tables.
No one would have bought this touched the policy with a barge pole but for the TATA name in the policy.

BEWARE even the great TATA reputation is no guarantee of fair play or justice.

We Indians are deeply Sorry that even youTATAs had to eventually succumb to these little rackets to make little money-?Rs.385/-to be exact and sacrifice your reputation?
