I travelled by Spice Jet from Chennai to mumbai. After arriving at Mumbai i could not locate my luggage. I lodged in a report and was assured that the bag will be deliverd home. The next day the staff cooked up a story that the address i had given is of Powai. They had even forged the compaint that i had written and changed my address. The Mumbai staff was not co operating and i had to go and collect my baggage. The Mumbai staff (Staff Name: Pradeep Shetty)is not ready to accept his mistake as they had planned to cheat me well in advance. He was moreover acting that he is annoyed with me. The worst customer care is a added pain. THE WORST FLIGHT THAT I HAD EVER TRAVELLED . PLEASE BEWARE BEFORE YOU BOOK UR TICKET IN THIS FLIGHT.

I am reproducing below the text of the complaint made to MOCA/DGCA etc about Spicejet.

      Sanjay Aggarwal
      CEO
      Spicejet

I am sending this mail to you and simultaneously copying The Honourable Minister for Civil Aviation Shri Praful Patel; Secretary, MOCA; important functionaries in the DGCA; important business groups; alumni mail lists; digital and print media; friends and relations. Your company must be exposed and held responsible for sacrificing safety for profit so soon after the worst aviation accident in Indian history at Mangalore.

Your airline today seriously compromised on flight safety and made it personal for me as my family is on this flight SG 103 Delhi to Mumbai on the 2nd June 2010. To make sure you believe the seriousness of this mail and don’t dismiss it as a crank mail my complete contact address is below, I am also happy to share the booking reference with any agency which wishes to enquire into this. Also the flight will soon land in Mumbai and I am sure the passengers who were eye-witnesses have their own to add to this.

This is not about the fact that a flight which was supposed to depart at 12:15 hours is still sitting on the tarmac at 16:45 hours as I write this or the fact that this delay was caused by “technical snags” in the aircraft (as told by your ground staff). That is a dismal thing to say the least and another matter all together

This is about basic aviation safety.

I am sure you will see the uproar later today on TV, and social media sites as photos and videos get uploaded on how Spicejet created a first in aviation history by boarding about 20 extra passengers on flight SG 103. In fact I am told by my wife who is on this flight, as I write this, that even after de-boarding several passengers the flight is about to leave by making small children who are NOT infants and who bought and should have been allotted separate seats in the plane; to sit in their parents laps without the mandatory seatbelts.

Shame on you sir and your employees for running a “banana” airlines giving India and its hard working people a bad name.

I look forward to the Ministry of Civil Aviation instituting a full fledged enquiry against your airline for violating basic flight safety norms !

      Regards

This is a complaint regarding a problem in booking tickets using credit card. I tried booking 3 return tickets (Delhi-Hyderabad) yesterday for 5-9 this July through the internet. I went through the whole process, but at the payment section using my Mastercard, it takes me to a secure part asking to fill out some information like my card 3 digit number and then my birthday. I tried several times and entered the information correctly, but the system does not verify my card. I have already used this card many times with no problem at all and the expiration date is in 2012. When I decided to redo the whole thing once more, during the process, I noticed that those plane seats that I had selected were still being shown as selected meaning that the system might have actually debited my card, so I stopped the booking and have so far sent two emails to Spicejet Customer Relations to check the issue, but I'm afraid I haven't yet received any reply from them. So, I decided to make a complaint about the whole thing and would very much like to know about the status of my booking.

Please check your Bank account and your account balance immediately.

Something is seriously wring with their internet booking. I had tried to book tickets and a similar situation happened with me, where I was told that my card had declined. Knowing that that should not be the case I checked with my bank i was immediately told that I had been charged for the ticket.

I am currently fighting to get my money back which spice says they have no deducted in-spite of my statement of accounts clearly showing the transaction and a valid transaction ID also.

            Respected Sir,

I booked my air ticket in Flight 343 through ‘make my trip’ to Bangaluru from Jaipur on 11/3/2010 for journey date 8/5/2010 at 1400 hrs. My PNR no. was F15SCH and booking ID was FLT[protected].On 8/5/2010 when I reached Jaipur at 1200 hrs, I was informed that the flight had already left and they had informed ‘make my trip’ on 29/04/10 about preponement of the flight. I told them that prior to start of my journey to Jaipur on 7/05/10, I did not receive any mail or SMS regarding change of flight time. Actually I reached Jaipur on 8/5/2010 at 04.30 AM by Kota-Jaipur fast passenger. Had I had the information, I would not have missed the flight. As I reached Jaipur at 4.30 am, I went to hotel as flight was scheduled at 1400 hrs(copy of train ticket and hotel receipt is attached). My son had to appear in COMDEK examination in Bangaluru on 9/05/2010 from 9 am. When I insisted that I had no information regarding change of schedule of flight they simply said they had emailed to ‘make my trip’. They admitted that they had not sent SMS on my registered mobile [protected]. When I asked please arrange my ticket through some other airline or arrange to send me via Delhi as my son had to appear in exam next day, they told me that they have no tie up with other airlines and can’t help in this regard and you have to book the ticket on your own, they could refund only the booking amount. They gave me a document stating that your booking amount rupees 8858 had been refunded. I had to pass through a great harassment as my son had to appear exam next day. Only two tickets were available in ‘go air’, I requested them to send me through ‘Go air’ but they refused to do so and I had to book the tickets by paying Rs 39406 for two persons on my own. I had to manage the tickets by initiating a lot of efforts as I belong to Kota. Till now I have not received the refund amount. On that day myself and my son had to undergo severe mental agony, this affected the performance of my son in COMDEK examination. I had a very bad experience with the airline and the booking agent (‘make my trip.com’). The airline should have sent me through ‘Go air’ as I was not informed by e-mail or cell phone. In my opinion, under such situation a customer should be informed twice about rescheduling of flight timings, one day prior to date of journey and before departure of flight. In this case I was not informed and I planned the journey two months in advance as exam date was fixed. Therefore the airlines/agent has to bear the extra expenditure incurred against the ticket. When I approached air line and service agent regarding my grievance they told that they had already sent a message regarding change of schedule but I did not receive any SMS regarding change of flight schedule. You are kindly requested to look into the matter and take necessary action.

            Spicejet flight preponement:

I had booked 2 tickets: 1 from Chennai to Port Blair booked in November 2013 (flight 917 on 15th May 204 scheduled for 1030 departure) and another Chennai to Bangalore(SG 3415 22nd May 1210 departure). Both these flights have been preponed due to the introduction of their stupid summer schedule. On both these occasions I am reaching Chennai from some connecting flight and due to the preponement, I might miss these flights. When i called the customer care, they told me that I cannot get a full refund as the flight has not been delayed beyond some time and neither are they booking me on some other spicejet flight that departs at a later time. Please be careful and avoid spicejet as much as possible. These are big rogues.

                Address: Mumbai City, Maharashtra

This is with reference to the flight SG 296 from Chennai on Tuesday, 13th April,2010 I had travelled on this flight from Chennai to Mumbai. My Reservation No. for the same was T1LTCB and Passenger name is Deepak Shanbhag.

On reaching Mumbai when I collected my check-in baggage from the conveyor belt, I found my baggage in torn and damaged condition. The bag was torn at four to five places. Further the zip of the bag was also damaged and the bag got opened up due to the damage to the zip when I brought this bag forward to your attendents at the Mumbai Airport . This bag was shown and checked by your helpless attendants on the Mumbai airport. The way my baggage has got damaged, it clearly indicates that it is only due to the neglegience, lack of care and mishandling of the baggage by your authorities.

Since it is the responsibility of the Flight to take care of the check-in baggage of the passengers, Hence I requested Spicejet to provide me appropriate compensation for the same. They are refusing to pay compensation.

                Please help.

                Regards,

                Deepak Shanbhag.

SPICEJET AIRLINES — Unfair Fare Charge

Please note that I had booked a SpiceJet ticket to travel from DELHI-KOLKATA, Date of Travel being- 25-JAN-08. I had bought the same ticket online on 23 December 2007.
I was charged a base fare of Rs 1699 then.

However, I am shocked to find a ticket for the same flight being available only at Rs 1399 for the last 3
days! This makes the current available fare cheaper by Rs 300 than what I had to pay.

Though I am a frequent flier, I have never encountered anything like this before with the other airlines. The fares are always lower if you book early- in my case, I have booked more than 2 weeks ago.

As this is the first time I have booked a SpiceJet flight ticket, it leaves me with an unpleasant
                feeling- of being cheated.

I expect to receive a refund of at least Rs 300 back. I am afraid I will never fly SpiceJet again.

I sent the above message to their customer care, who replied saying that their fares are 'dynamic'. Now when I checked, they have revised the base fare to 1799, surely after getting my mail!

                  Hi,

It is my painful experience forced me to lodge a complaint against Spicejet. I have booked a ticket for catching up a flight to Chennai which is scheduled for 5.50 a.m on 22nd April, 2010. And reported at counter 30 minutes before after screening my baggage. I appreciate y our punctuality for closing the counter well in time. Even after reaching the counter 30 minutes before. The counter person replied in harsh tone "Counter got closed". I begged for check in as I am in time at reporting even the security clearance also not got over. I was surprised with the reply given the ticket counter person. Do you have any proofs that you are reporting at time.

Where the last passenger reporting time 5.31 a.m and I approached at 5.25 a.m at counter.

Even not bothered to addressing my issue to his supervisors. So, I requested him up to 5.30 a.m for check in. Then I have asked for a complaint book to put down my pen. As usual reluctant give the same, with repeated pleadings I got the same for lodging a complaint.

                  COMPLAINT NUMBER: 2056

I really appreciate timings but when I am on time why should they rejected my check-in. In my past experience even flight got delayed for hours of time I never raised my voice for the inconvenience. But today I am well in time just before 30 minutes. And experienced a un-civilized experience with staff by a respected airlines.

One experience forced me to write a bad experience about spicejet. Will address the same with all employees in my company.

now I have cancelled the said booking in 2 days, since I was told only a Cancellation charges of Rs. 300/- will be applied on ENTIRE booking. but
I have been charged Rs 750 per head i.e. TOTAL Rs. 3000/- by Spicejet Airlines and YATRA portal has charged Rs. 140/- per head, i.e. Total Rs.560/-
I have still to get the Refund against this, booking and today is 21st April 2010. Refund promised to be Rs. 5600/- approx i.e. almost a CANCEL Charge of Rs. 3600/-

This charges looks to be TOO High and needs rationalism and reasoning since
                    - this is 2 months in advance,
                    - Other airlines deduct far too less for booking against cancellation
                    - this date is booked highly, since there is a national EXAM in Bangalore and there will not be any loss for the Airline, due to this exams yet,

May I request you to reduce this Cancellation amount to an amount of Rs.1000/- only and not exorbitant like Rs.3000/-

Please help, Thanks and Warm Regards,

                      Address: Delhi

I had a booking of brother ( Amit Sharma )on the flight from delhi to mumbai on 17th April 1215 pm flight. Due to heavy traffic on road, he reached at the spice counter at 1150 am to check in.The counter person refused him to get in. Infact, he requested that it is very important to reach at mumbai but he was not listened. They forced him to take next flight & pay Rs 3315 difference of fare.

Flight was 10 minutes late. As flight was little late why he was not allowed to get in. This is ethically not right.

My point is that spice customer care should consider sometimes human ground seeing the circumstances. Is it justified that for mere 5 minutes delay a passenger is not allowed to board in & is charged high fare for next flight.

It is not easy for everyone to pay such high amount for air ticket.

I want refund of money extra charged or one open ticket of Del - Mumbai sector for him for his next travel.

                      Regards,
                      Sonia

Today morning I went through a similar ordeal for being 10 minutes late to catch my 9:55am flight from Bangalore to Kolkata - SG528( I arrive to collect my boarding pass at 9:25 am precisely). I was not allowed to board the flight and instead offered a reschedule which would additonally cost me Rs 7500.00 on my existing booking of Rs.4386.00. I declined this and was provided with a refund of Rs.636 on th whole fare of Rs.4386.
I went ahead and booked a flight with Kingfisher airlines for the next day.

The execuitves at the boarding counter acted very indifferent and provided no help of any kind. Many a times I have noticed these same attendants running across security check and announcing to look for First Class passengers who are delayed.
I will not be surprised if this airline would later board a passenger who would be ready to pay a higher price on my booking cancelled as no-show, 30 minutes before the scheduled flight. This last minute passenger who is booking the same seat at a much higher price can certainly be allowed to board on 'certain recommendations' by these airline officials.
I would like to bring this up with the proper authorities to investigate such incidents where these so called low-cost carrier airline find ways to profit from such loopholes in the system.
The only solution to my problem is to bear this loss of fare and never ever travel by this airline in my life, but I would want the proper authorities to definitely investigate similar incidents in the future.

                          Dear Madam / Sir

After I highlighted the issue of very high cancellation charges of Rs 750 per passenger (not per booking) I became aware of another con game which Spice Jet plays on its gullible passengers.

I had to cancel my bookings online and after deducting the exhorbitant charges, the message online was that my Credit will be held for a year and I can utilise the credit for future bookings within the next 12 months. This is pure con on the part of Spice Jet to force the passenger to travel by this airline.

Wait, the saga is not over. When I had to make my next booking, I was forced to approach Spice Jet - imagine my surprise during the course of the conversation, the sales person actually told me that the cancellation charges are refunded to the Original Credit Card but not when you have cancelled online. The passenger after cancelling online has to call up the Spice Jet Office and request them to transfer the balance to the Credit Card. This is another spin in the story.

Why not intimate customers online at the time of cancellation that the balance would be refunded to their credit or debit cards?

Spice......it up and keep it going!!!

I would like to inform you that I was travelling along with my family from Banglore to Mumbai on 14th Feb 2010 on flight SG529 (Ticket PNR: QZ9TAC) scheduled departure 19:05 hrours which was subsequently posponed to 19:40 hours.

As I reached the airport there was thorough checking of ID cards & tickets which was taking quite some time(due to the bomb blast in Pune). As I reached the check in counter at 19:15 hours I was told that the flight had left at 19:05 hours (seems that the spicejet staff had no knowledge of the postponment of the flight). On informing the check in desk that I had a SMS infroming that the flight had been postponed to 19:40 hours I was asked to speak to Shewta. Shweta informed me rudely that the gate had closed & that me & my family could not board the flight. I informed Shweta that the airport checking was taking quite some time else I would have been on time but Shweta refused to listen. I requested her again & again to speak to the securtiy gate if they could accomodate me on the flight but she refused & even did not bother to give it a try. I asked her to suggest me an alternative for which she refused to help & pointed me towards other airline counters for alternatives. Meanwhile she made me wait for 10 minutes & was busy accomodating people to the Bangalore-Hyderabad flight which was scheduled to depart at 19:45 hours & whose gates had been closed by 19:15 hours & later dissappeared from the counter without helping me. I also saw Spicejet staff on the booking counters accepting bookings for their Pune flight even before 10 minutes of the flight departure. I wonder why I was discriminated for only 5 minutes delay. We passangers wait for over 2-3 hours patiently when flights are delayed & we dont get accomodated for a few minutes delay from our side. The other airport staff informed us that this was the usual scene on the Spicejet counter.

I would like to inform you that I have been regularly flying on the Bangalore-Mumbai sector thru Spicejet. I have even been accomodated the last time 15 minutes before departure (Flight dt. 28.12.2009 PNR: T3TGBM). The time log on your computers are self explanatory.

As I had to reach Mumbai urgently I went to Indigo airlines counter whose staff helped me to get tickets for my family.(PNR: Y2NQCC) by paying Rs. 13743.

All this has caused a lot of mental trauma & financial loss to me & my family. I never expected such discriminatory & unprofessional behaviour from Spicejet staff. I have lost all trust in the Spicejet brand & seek proper action & compensation. I have been continously writing to the customer relations & COO Sanjay Aggarwal only to get a stand reply stating that my complaint cannot be processed. All this behavoiur only leads to Spicejet compromising on the safety of passengers by taking in last minute bookings. As such I appeal to the public at large to stop travelling Spicejet.

                                  Vinayak Kamath.

I am a frequent treveller on spicejet and have been recommendind the airline to all my friends and relatives. But the incident today morning has left me bewildered. My parents senior citizens were supposeed to travel under pnr no U1YMBC today from kol to jaipur.I had got the tickets issued from credit card issued by standard chartered and had given them a signed xerox copy as per your rules and regulations....when they reached the airport for check in they were asked to produce the original credit card on the grounds that the the transaction has been blocked as it is a fraudulent transaction and they cant board the flight till they produced the original credit card.On veryfying from standard chartered bank it was found that the transaction has been cleared and you have already collected the payment on 20th of march. It is nowhere in the rules that the passenger has to carry the original card and they were unnecessarily harrassed for 40minutes.....they were forced to buy fresh tickets and board the flight...luckily they were carrying money so they could do it otherwise they would have been denied boarding........in fact the people behind the counters were rude so as to blame them for fraud....and said that they would reverse the transaction on the card if it was not a fraud but my parents could not board the flight till they bought fresh tickets. Now they have landed in jaipur and proceeded towards our native village without sufficient money as the money they were carrying was used up to buy fresh tickets.....god forbid if they fall into any trouble because of lack of funds in rajasthan spicejet airline would be solely held responsible for it.It is a matter of deep regret that spicejet harrassed my parents immaterial of their being senior citizens.....we look forward to taking up the matter with the concerned legal authorities....

                                      Dear Sir / Madam,

Subject: Letter of complaint for a baggage loss.

                                      Complaint no: 54619

Passengers: Mr. Sanjay Solanki & Mr. Ramesh Padaya

                                      Ticket no: C38UEN

                                      Flight number: SG 101

                                      From: Delhi 24th December 2009

                                      To: Mumbai 24th December 2009

On 24th December 2009, I had checked in with four baggage’s from Delhi Airport, but while boarding at the Delhi Airport I could get only three baggage’s, the other baggage was found missing. On enquiring I was told that the baggage had not passed clearing, which would take some time and hence will be delivered to me in Mumbai in a day’s time after verifying it’s contents. For this I was asked to write an authority letter, stating that I agree to my baggage being delivered to me in the preceding flight or by courier, at the earliest after its verification, which I did and handed over to them. Two days later when I called up Spice Jet customer care, I was told that the baggage cannot be found & will get back to me in few days time. After my repeated attempts to get in touch with the concerned people trying to locate my baggage, I was finally told (after almost a week) that my baggage has been lost & for which I would be compensated a mere sum of Rs. 1000, an offer which is totally unacceptable and already rejected by me to your customer care executive (Delhi & Mumbai) over phone.

As I’ve formally been told that my baggage has been lost, I am writing to request that you compensate me for the loss of my baggage, without further delay. The total amount of the whole contents is Rs. 15340.

                                      Regards,

                                      Sanjay Solanki.

I had the same experince while travelling from gau ti kol by flight # SG 529 on 21/08/2010. My pnr no is C3RFBA. My baggage# is SG[protected]. They are bot able to trace it. They said they will get back to me. I have expensive items on the bag worth 15000. I am really diappointed and will never fly spicejet again.
I am also passing thru same situation. Will you guide me for further actions ? Please contact, mr.Kalpesh Vora[protected]
My husband S.Srinivasaraghavan travelled in SPICEJET heading from Mumbai to Chennai on 23rd june 2012. He had checked in his baggage in Mumbai and in Chennai he was unable to get his baggage. A complaint was booked in chennai and for the last 2 days(48 hours) spice jet officials make us keep running from pillar to post in search of our lost baggage. The baggage contains some important documents which is indispensable. Despite keeping in touch with them every hour, they are not able to locate the lost baggage. They are at times so in-disciplined to cut our calls or avoid picking up our calls. My husband has also written to the Nodal officer but in vain. Spice jet airlines should not only advertise a cheap ticket airline, it is a cheapest airlines with respect to the quality and behavior of their working staff. Can anyone look into the matter and help us out immediately.
I also agree on your view about Spice Jet. This is one of the most unprofessional airline company i have experience.

I travelled from New Delhi to Varanasi on 7th Feb. 2010 on Spice Jet Afternoon Flight.

I had checked in two baggages. On both FRAGILE Sticker was put.

In Varanasi - they mannualy threw both the baggages from conveyaer belt to floor. In the process the packages got broken & the contents scattered and broken.

I lost one portable hard disc & had few broken CDs.

When I went to lodge complaint the attitude of the staff was callous & only on threatening they registered complaint. COMPLAINT No. 4808.

Now it is almost 3 weeks but no RESPONSE.

I NWONDER HOW THEY CALL THEMSELVES THE BEST AIRLINES OF INDIA

This type of cases must be happening on regular basis
