A charge was initiated on my card on 19th March 2014. This charge was created without notice and hence complaint was made to Standard chartered to stop the payment as this was illegal. Despite assurance and repeated follow ups with the customer service, head customer service, Nodal officers and Principal Nodal officer. The bank has failed to respond on why was the payment honored despite instructions / advise of the illegal nature. I would want bank to refund the money and also pay compensation for causing mental agony, frustration and loss of trust in using my card as the bank seems to be hand in gloves with the company which had charged me this amount.

    Hi, I had applied my credit card EMI-Instabuys Classic (Kuch Bhi On EMI) on 29th August'13 and EMI option started from Sept'2013-Rs.6446.88/- per month. Ms. Sushmita was the employee from standard charterd-[protected] who helped me to apply for EMI on credit card. As discussed with her below EMI has been decided: 37200 amount going in EMI for SCB credit card. After 3 months successful payment, i have applied for Pre-Closure of all EMI as per below details. After trying for last 35 days and more than 60-70 calls at customer service SCB excepted my Pre-Closure request, very sorry to say that it’s my salary account. Pre-Closure ID[protected] Total Order Value (for EMI) Left Amount till date-4th Dec'13 3303 1144.68 2222 770 11840 11808.33 17050 8200 2785 965.15 37200 22888.16 But as per 2 Executive of SCB customer service –Ms. Vidya & Ms. Vibha Shah they have given the below Pre-Closure details and when I told them this not right, then they simply threaten me to pay the below amount and told to do the pre-closure within 3 working days. Total Order Value (for EMI) Left Amount till date-4th Dec'13 3303 1144.68 2222 770 11840 4103.2 11840 11808.33 17050 8200 2785 965.15 49040 26991.36 My total spend amount was Rs.37200/- for EMI under credit card, then how could actual amount can be changed by your bank.     As you confirmed (Representative from standard chartered Bank) that you are working in my case and will be reverting back after resolving
    the issue on last week.And today you have send a RECOVERY AGENT(Company Name-CREDIT CONTROL) at my home (kolkata) and even without informing me. You Recovery agent guy had behaved like an animal with
    my parents and told to clear the amount by today itself.What type of BANK is this-Standardchartered Bank.

    Is this the way you people work, then its ok. Now i need to go ombudsmen court and need final justification with there with complete
    documentation.

    Today again some representative called from this number[protected] and told he is calling from standard chartered and started to threaten
    me...to PAY the amount.

    Hopefully everyone should know how standard chartered bank treat there customer...

      i Tapan M Sheth having credit card holder for standard charter bank my card no is [protected]. but last month in my card some payment was deducted at rs 7921 that transaction reference no was [protected]. but i was not given any payment for my side i try to contact standard chartered bank but no one responses properly.

        Hi, I had opted for Standard chartered bank credit card. After the usage I had not been receiving any statements, so i stopped using it after a few months. Finally i followed up and got the statements, the bank agreed to waive the late fee charges if i made an immediate payment, i did that. But now again they are calling me up and asking to make the late fee payments. they are harassing me for no reason. the services of the bank are really bad. they dont want to retain customers and donot accept if any of this was their mistake. the agents that call up are very rude and threaten me. Please Help

          I had dropped cheque for rs. 16917/- in the drop box located in south city ii gurgaon haryana on 19.4.2014 generaly all my payments are deposited weel in advance as is clear from what i am writing to you here as well. Upon followup with the customer care on 25.4.2014 to cross cheque whether my cheque has been received becuae by then the cheque was not cleared from my account. Upon check with the records of the drop box location i came to know that the cheque was taken away only on 22.4.2014 and the previous collection was on 16.4.2014. The cheque collection kiosk is not working for long. Many complaints have been made by many people come there. Today on 3.5.2014 the cheque is still not cleared from my bank. Then i made followup with customer care i was told that the cheque is cleared on 24.4.2014 itself(Recording of the same is available with customer care). Although i had received sms on 25.4.2014 at 10.06.32 that the cheque has been received. But when i told mr. Aziz at 2.29 pm on 3.5.2014 that the cheque is sill not cleared from my account despite having sufficient funds in my account. Then he told some otehr reason(Best known to him) cheque has not been cleared yet. But to my surprise i was not intimated of the same at all though my payment date is 27th of every month.

          Please note in such an event i would like to draw your attention to the fact that on part of the standards chartered bank lagging to clear payment from bank will attract interests in the next bill. Kindly note i am not at fault in any ways hence do not raise bill with interest in the next bill.
          All concerned are to look into the matter and resolve asap under intimation to us as per the records for mode of communication available with bank.

            Hi,
            This is Kishor Kumar BR.
            Loan account no : 49839411
            This letter/Complaint I'm writing with heavy frustration.I have taken personal loan from standard charted, before that I have received call and message from [protected]
            (Her name is Priya, Later I came to know that she is finance bud ha {all
            this I heared from Standard chart manager Abhi, his no is [protected]})

            Priya as explained the below term for this loan :
            1) 15.5% interest
            2) Processing fees of Rs 3371 will return to my account on the pay of first EMI (this is the offer she told).
            3) Pre closer of loan without any penalty (I have to pay only outstanding principle at the time of repayment).

            At the time of given loan the interest become 15.75% (Abhi
            said system is not taking 15.5% so he is putting 15.75% and he will
            waive of one last EMI, I'm not sure this is updated on system) : please
            confirm on this.

            Now I have paid first emi and after that I called Priya to pay back my processing fee of Rs 3771., Then she said "Sir I will call you after some time" but she didn't call me back (around 4 days back).
            Day after that I called her, she is not picking the call and after some
            time she picked the call then she is saying I'm Priya's sister, I
            will ask her to call back.one day I didn't get any call from her so I
            have called her again, she is not picking the call... so I called many
            times and sent her message.

            After that she called me from office no[protected] and started
            blaming on me saying why are you calling many time, I'm busy with work..
            Do what ever you want (she is not understanding why I called many
            time, since she was not responding from 2 days) and finally she said
            she will give update by evening.

            But she didn't call me by evening and then I called her evening, then
            she picked the call and didn't speak. (This happened on 29th April).On
            April 30th morning I have sent her message to update on the status but I
            didn't get call till 4PM, so I called her.. Third time she picked the
            call and
            started for 3K how many time you are calling, why are you torchering me like that.I just want to say I'm following up for my money not for torchering her(she is not redy to talk on the actual issue).

            Please let me how I can get this money back with out contacting the person who was representative during while giving loan.
            Really I feel torcher from all these incident.suppose if I don't pay EMI, you ppl will won't call me? you ppl won't search me? You ppl won't update sebel record?Please answer my question and try to resolve the issue.
            I have frustrated on this.

              I ashok bera have a complaint against "the standard chartered bank" from whom i have taken a loan, and when i am paying off the dues they are unable to give me a statement regarding how much left to be paid. Instead they are simply sending me messages in my mobile with out any hard copy. They are simply calling us and disturbing us for paying the dues. They are not at all giving me any statement of my dues. How much i have paid and how much is still left to pay. Since two months they are not sending any declaration of paying off my dues so i have not paid my last two months due until n unless they are not sending me a hard copy of my statement iam nt ready to pay any further dues. As they are not at all ready to give me a statement of how much i have paid and i much is left to be paid.
              Please take some steps regarding my complaint. It will be helpfull to me.

                I have a long waiting issue with Standard Chartered Bank, which I had pointed out over the phone to SCB customer Care many times in last 4.5 yrs but it landed on deaf ears, I suppose. Here I am trying to escalate it in this forum with the hope that I will get some positive response this time. I was holding SCB credit card # [protected] since July 2008 (exp date : July 2011). With this card, I was offered a Dining Plus card # 33 12518 on Feb 2009 for which I was paying around Rs. 400/- per month. In Sep 2009, I felt that I was not utilizing the Dining Plus card and decided to cancel it by using SCB's phone banking service. The customer care executive took my card cancellation request and I was asked to sent back the kit received with the Dining Plus card to their Chennai address and destroy the card. I explicitly asked the person if I would be charged for this dining card again and she said NO. I then dispatched the kit to the address given to me. But to my surprised, my next month statement reflected a sum of Rs. 2000/- approx against my Dining Plus card. I called up customer care to clarify the issue and I was asked by some senior member of SCB customer care team, to pay the balance amount leaving Rs. 2000/- as this was not supposed to be charged. I made the payment as instructed. Thereafter, I decided not to use my SCB credit card until the issue gets resolved. After few days, I called back again to check if the issue was resolved but I did not get any positive reply and the person said that they were still looking into that. Now, next month again, this payment showed up on my statement with interest charges. This annoyed me and I spoke to their phone banking officer yet again. Nothing changed this time too and I got same old reply even after number of follow ups. Finally, I decided to leave this issue and kept quite. I got no communication for SCB for a long time and then on one fine day, I got call from their recovery team to make the balance payment which grew many folds by then. I asked them to get the issue resolved and I will make a justified payment. However, they refused to speak over the issue. Thereafter, I started receiving multiple calls to make the payment and people tried to even frighten me over the phone. They used bad and harsh tone which I could not digest. It is always me who tried to resolve the issue but bank never supported. Nor they took any action apart from harassing me over the phone and demanding for big money. Although, I have no faith in SCB anymore but still trying to get out of this nuisance. Hoping to get an early response and some solution which suits to both o[censored]s.

                  Hi, My issue #KMM17379532V98350L0KM. In the month of October 2013, I have swiped my Credit card for purchasing a mobile. However, your bank had charged me trice of the same amount. I have swiped my card for one time your bank is charging me for three times. From Past 2 month I am following with up with you and getting the same irritating response that you are looking into the issue. How many more days you will take looking into it and you guys are not forgetting to pile-up the late chanrge, interest etc etc. Horrible bank and horrible service.

                    I have received a bill statement for march 2014 from Standard chartered Bank. i have informed the phone banking officer regarding this late fee issues once i receipt of my statement and they did not provide any reference no for my conversation held.then i have paid my entire amount before due date. But the late fee and interest is appearing on my statement even though i have my due amount before due time. Yesterday i have received a SMS from SC bank saying some over due on my credit card account. . Hence i request SC bank to reverse the late fee and interest etc., which i have already paid to sc bank immediately.

                      To highest official Standard chartered bank Chennai Sub – Pathetic consumer service My credit card no – [protected] Sir With deep regret I say, that dual debit happens very frequently, whilst using your card on online. I thought it happened only during railway booking, number of times and then reversal happens after few days, now it has also started happening for other payments too. Recent one being April -15 to Airtel amounting Rs1353.10 1. In railways it is pathetic that, even after transaction says it has failed, the amount gets debited and a prompt SMS is sent on debit 2. When I ask the customer service people the standard answer is it will revert after 48 hors, and after 48 hours I ask they will once again say it will revert after 48 hours. 3. On 15th April, being the last day for the payment of Airtel Landline / Broadband, I paid it on online and transaction failed but amount was debited and prompt SMS WAS SENT THAT AMOUNT IS DEBITED 4. I called up Customer service, [protected], on 15th April, they promptly said they will check and revert within 48 hours 5. Today on 17th April I called them, yet once again, the same answer 6. Fed up complained to SCB- customer service- Ms Hamsa – complaint number- [protected] – 11.20 am- 7. Then I get a call from Ms Lakshmi from Bangalore – tel –no -[protected]- She tells me it will take 7 working days to resolve. Now the amount debited in excess is only 1353.10. In case if transaction fails for amount beyond Rs10000/, should consumer suffer. What is the level of confidence one can have on Standard chartered bank – credit card REALLY POOR AND PATHETIC SERVICE – CAN SCB TELL ME SHOULD I CONTINUE WITH THE CARD.                       I thank you for the response, for having credited back the amount Rs1353.10, which was twice debited towards Bharathi Infotel. However i am checking with Airtel whether they have done Dual credit for one bill, i am yet to recieve the reply.In case it is twice credited, be assured i will inform you for required debit.

                      Meanwhile, once again for rail ticket (IRCTC), transaction failed, but recieved SMS, that Rs 1082.47 is debited. I am sure Railways will refund the amount. This has happened many times

                      Once again thank you for crediting back- However advice/ check the technicalities to avoid such debits

Since last three years we have been facing lot of difficulties with you for compliance of KYC.In fact since last two years you have stopped operations in our account. W e havebeen following up with your officials over telephone, through emails and even meeting them in person.Every official to whom our case is assigned asks us to submit fresh documents, and then he/she gets transferred and we have to follow up with the new officer all over again. We take care of not only food and shelter for these boys but also take care of their education.If you stop us from getting donations from our foreign well wishers we are put to great difficulties.                           I am a holder of your Bank credit card since 2 decades and I have no issue either from my side reg payment nor from your service. But of late looking at the latest trend in duplicate cards being produced/ manufactured I am really dissuaded to use the card that too in petrol bunks. Can't your Bank take some steps to instil confidence in the credit card customer like me.

                            I have not yet received the reversal of Annual Fees charged. So Please consider the request for Cancellation by reversing the annual fees.
                            Please ignore my comment saying that the Issue is not yet solved. I have just gone through the old statements and found that the amount is reversed in April month.

                              My credit card ending with #7677 was cancelled without informing in Dec 2013.

                              The bank had charged a Rs.500 over limit charge on my previous card which i had stopped using from July 2012 since it was expired and the bank had sent me a new card to use.

                              Since i dint understand the details as soon as i started getting the reminders about a payment on the expired card, i called in to the bank and i was told i could ignore it.

                              This Jan, i found out my current card was blocked. when i called in there explained to me it was because of this non-payment on my expired card. Note: there was nothing pending on my active card.

                              I immediately did the payment and raised a request to reinstatement by current credit card. I had followed up multiple times and at last they said, it will be reinstated in 2 days. Since, it dint happen i wrote to the bank - since the phone banking agents where of no help and only tried to end the call by giving wrong information over and over - they responded saying due to internal policy the bank cant reinstate the card.

                              I very well do know CIBIL score will be one of the parameters the bank would have checked and the bank has rated me low on this.

                              I have been a customer of this bank for 7.5 yrs. And hold a salary account. I have never defaulted any payments before. I would like to know why my CIBIL score is rated low and my card to be reinstated, if not the reason for the same. and the reason for blocking my card in the first place

                                Hi, I have taken Standard Chartered credit card number ''[protected]". I have made payment of all my dues on[protected] and raised request for closuer of my credit card. I have been informed that my request has been send for closure after that i left out of country. Despite of card closure I recieved card statement with renewal charge. I immediately called customer care and get confirmation of bolcking of my card. After 2 years I am getting mail for payment of outstanding of Rs 5546 and they keep on adding interest on this. Also raised over 6-7 complaint Nos in vain without getting any solution in addition complaint form has been faxed 4 times to designated FAX No. All Nodal office/ principle officer/card.services etc. Has been mail and hard copies of every communication and complaint form sent.                                   As usual stan chart replied on 14th Mar 2014 and asked for a 20 days time after persuasion for the final outcome, usually they ask for 45 days but never come up with any solution or even a single line of reply.

                                  Although they said that they will keep us on loop on the matter for any further progress but till date no feed back or communication has been received from them.

                                    Hi, As i was the member of standard charted credit card earlier & details of card is [protected]. I have raised a complaint for multiple times on extra charges, which has been debited in my account but there is no response from the bank. So, i didn't pay the credit card bill till i get a reply. At last, we made a settlement of that card & has been told that my rating in the cibil will not be effected. So, i made the settlement & closed the card as suggested by bank person(agent). But when i tried to apply for new card now from other bank, they have said that my cibil rating is decreased because of this mistake done by the bankers of Standard Charted employees. Please verify my old payments, which are paid before due date & change my rating to cibil as i have cleared all dues to the bank. I didn't expect this type of service from the prestigious bank like Standard charted & hope the bank still favours the customers like me. Please provide me the Control Number for raising a complaint on this issue & need to be escalated if it is not solved. Please call me on [protected] for further clarifications.                                     Thanks for responding asap.
                                    Could you please send me the status, which you are going to be updated to CIBIL records & can you please send me that report as well. Also, i wanted to know the e Control Number of this issue, in-case of need to raise a complaint. Even though after paying the total amount & closed the account i don't know why Standard Charted bank is doing this wrong status updates of their customers. It is really effecting us a lot because of your bank. I don't want to suggest your services for any of known persons to me if this is not resolved asap.

                                      I took a Standard Chartered credit card one year back and at the time of issuing the card it was told that for first year there is no annual fees and from second year onwards there will be annual fees if I wanted to continue. After using the card for 2 months I wanted to cancel the card and informed the same to the customer care. After one year I received a bill showing the annual fee amount, so immediately I called the customer care and checked. The customer care executive told me that my card is still active and said he will raise request to deactivate the card and another request to cancel the card. He also mentioned that no need to pay any amount against the bill. But still I am getting the bills every month with interest is adding up along with late fee. Blockage Request Number:[protected] Cancellation Request Number:[protected] Could you please look into this issue and do the needful.

                                        I am CA. Ankit Bansal, working as Manager (Accounts) in Torishima Pumps (India) Pvt Ltd (TPIPL), a Private Limited Co. We are
                                        maintaining our current account with Standard Chartered Bank, DLF Gurgaon Branch since incorporation of our
                                        company. Our major banking functions are done through Standard Chartered only.
                                        We have been depositing challans
                                        regarding statutory payments through Standard Chartered Bank till 31.07.2013.
                                        My complaint is as follows:


                                        1.Late processing of TDS submission application to government

                                        2.This issue was not over, another mistake made by SCB in regards with TAN no
                                        put wrongly due to which again we have to pay heavy penalty with no fault of
                                        ours.

                                        3.In regards with putting wrong Service Tax no on challan due to which we had
                                        high interest and penalty we have to pay.

                                        The above mentioned issues have been detailed in ‘Annexure’ enclosed, many more issues that we
                                        have come across for which we are completely dis-satisfied.

                                        We have had repeatedly conveyed to bank through various mails and letters about
                                        the mistake made at their end but unfortunately neither there has been any
                                        support nor any positive response from them regarding any compensation that
                                        needs to made on us.

                                        Annexure

                                        1. Late processing of TDS submission application to government

                                        There were many instances in regards with late processing by SCB due to which
                                        interest is levied on us. Presently there is a demand of Rs 8000 for the same.
                                        (Details enclosed)

                                        2. Wrong quoting of TAN in Challan

                                        This issue has been pending since October 12. As mentioned in point no 2, SCB
                                        had in their letter Ref No 11/12/004913/LIB dated 8th November 2012 accepted
                                        the error made by putting wrong TAN but when reminded again wide letter dated
                                        July 16, 2013, another letter Ref No 07/13/108942/LIB dated 2nd August
                                        2013 with ambiguous statement stating that challan was processed on the basis
                                        of TAN number mentioned by us, which is countering your earlier letter as
                                        mentioned above.

                                        (Documents enclosed). Presently there is a demand of Rs. 329, 520 for the same
                                        against us on TRACES website.

                                        3.Service Tax

                                        Identical error was repeated while processing service tax challan in March 2013
                                        for Rs. 1, 187, 130. Assessee code quoted
                                        by us was AADCT7009ASD001 but in challan it was quoted as AADCT7009ASD002.
                                        Because of which we are facing a hefty interest and penalty provision amounting
                                        to Rs. 335, 370. (Documents and Calculations enclosed)

                                        I and one of my colleague Shri. Hitesh Sharma,
                                        also visited the bank to discuss the matter with the Branch Manager, Mr. Deepak Sachdeva(M
                                        No: [protected]), and was assured that issue will be closed within 10 days. But
                                        I am very sorry to inform that it is still pending.

                                        Yesterday we had a teleconference with the same matter with SME head Mr. Prateak Tandon
                                        (Prateak.[protected]@sc.com), but again there was no solution arrived for the same.

                                        As informed over telephone they are still in confusion as to which Profit and
                                        loss head the compensation amount should be debited, and that's why our issue
                                        is being delayed, even if bank is being informed that TDS demand notice has
                                        been received and last date for replying it also has been passed.

                                        As you can easily make out in the above para
                                        which shows that bank is only concerned about it's internal presentation of financials rather work towards resolving our
                                        issue which is more severe.

                                        So your kind intervention is needed as we have already have received TDS demand
                                        notice and is pending because of bank only.
