Everytime I want to redeem my credited points in Star Bazaar outlet at Corum Mall, Thane, reply from cashier is this scheme is not yet started. It is happening for last 3 months. Whereas Tata card websites shows u can redeem your points at Star Bazaar outlets. This is ridiculous service.

    I am Sunil Sharma from banaglore , actually i buy a product from star baazar and it was not that thing which i want than on second day after purchasing i went there for exchange to it , but they refuse and said we cant exchange it , but that thing is useless for me as i want to exchange it but,i want to know is there any solution against this in consumer court if yes please guide me i want to do that. thank you.
    they are abig FRAUD, evn i hav experienced the same.on top of that they charged for something that s not in the stuff i took or somethimes they ll charged more for the stuff.i took halk kg stuff n they had charged for 2.5 kg, same with electronic items lik iron, etc...they r too much.so all the customer must b aware of the billing they made n product b4 they leav the counter.

      i just live beside star bazar thane,our experiance initially was good, but lately there is a discrepency in billing section,as there are at times more then 30 items of grocery with some offers on them ,trusting that barcoded system is foolproof,and the staff is so fast that one is unable to pinpoint if the discount is adjusted ,after reaching home you check the billing you find no discount on offer is given.
      then i called the store manager who just stood like a fool listening to my complaint,
      and the outcome was you have to buy to adjust the amount,this has happened not once but thrice,a reputed companyn like tatas cannot control this then only our old kiranawalas were better.
      this has to be taken seriously.

        I bought 'System Wax Strips' from Star Bazaar at Korum mall Thane on 9 th May.
        I happen to open it on 10 June when i found them completely dry and unuseful.Customer care are not ready to listen to the complint since it has exceeded 15 days from the day of purchase.They want me to contact the 'System' company directly.
        But i brought the product because Star Bazaar recommendeed me.I am customer of Star Bazaar so they should deal with company for damaged product and should give me renumeration for the loss.

        congratulation for your new opening at Aurangabad.
        I just want to tell you that this unit will not last long. your Service is the worst of its kind in India. Your sales men do not know anything about customer service nor even about your products.
        it is even very easy to steal out whatever you wish to.
        If you check your record you will find that your sales are going down and lots of your product must have been robed. I however just want to tell you be careful and if you wish I can take you inside and show you what i mean. it should be done secretly

          This is to aware all who buys or willing to buy products from Star Bazaar at Skywalk Mall.

          I bought a packet of Green Grams and got surprised when found the color green was an artificial one. We all know about the artificial colors mixed with vegetables, etc. but a shopping mall like Star Bazaar at Skywalk mall would sell like this - never thought of it before. If you keep in water for an hour you would see the water color changed to green.

          EVEN I HAD A VERY BAD and DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE IN STAR BAZAAR CHENNAI,

          1. It was shocking to see spy camera in the ladies trial room, when asked for the reason. they denied to answer. .When i tried to make a phone call to police, they grabbed my phone and threaned me and took me inside the manager’s room and convinced me that the camera in off and some other person told that it is not at all a camera, which i can’t believe. Being a women i don’t have any safety there, so immediately rushed out.

          2. If anyone of you can make a visit to this place please be careful. Staffs there using harsh dirty words on customers once the customer leaves the place. Particularly Male employees in vegetable section and men’s cloths counter.

          3. After weighing of one full chicken, they placed it for cutting and packing, When i reached home and cleaned that chicken for preparing Chicken 65, I was surprised to find that one leg and rib piece was missing. Even most of the time I find old meat and sea foods. but don’t know where to launch these kind of consumer complaints

          4. One day i bought a kurtha worth Rs.349/-, a few days later my friend went and bought the same one for Rs.499/-. When we rushed with the cloths they denied to refund the amount as she used it once.

          5. Inner garments are very badly organised different size in the box and some other size on the inner garment.

          6. Discount cloths was charged on the MRP. kurtha found in the discount place with MRP Rs.399/- has discount of 25%, it has to be charged Rs.300/- after discount, i confirmed it with the section manager there and placed for billing. When i saw the bill shockingly they have charged Rs.399/-. And Men’s denim jeans discount board was placed under Women’s jeans counter. Nil knowledge about the stock available and unwilling to serve the customer, the attitude which cannot be changed even after warnings or charge-sheet.

          THE STAFFS IN STAR BAZAAR SHOULD BE PROVIDED WITH SOME BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! ON WHICH THEY LACK

          THESE ARE THE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE YOU CAN EXPERIENCE SHOPPING IN THAT HUGE ROBBERY SHOP.

          TILL DATE NO ONE HAS RAISED VOICE TO REMOVE THE SPY CAMERA INSIDE THE TRIAL ROOM, EVEN TODAY YOU CAN WALK IN TO FIND.

          Mr.TATA if reads this comment please change your Admistrative staffs as they fetch bad name to your enterprise. Blame the HR for recruiting lower grade men and women, those who don’t know how to speak, and behave in a hi-fi shopping centre
          Yes. They have camera in trial room but not at the cash counter where it is suppose to be placed. I lost my wallet near the cash counter i asked them to show the video and they say there is no camera. Plus the "manager" just walks away saying i cant do anything. Why would they care. I have totally lost faith in it. Poor service.

            This is something I have noticed in my multiple purchases over the last year from Star Bazar. Most people come here to buy multiple items. For items that come with a discount in the price or offers, you have to ask at the billing counter. If not, they charge you the full amount. Free items that come with products are almost never given unless you ask for it. This means wasting about 5-10 minutes of almost 4-5 other people waiting in the queue for billing. I find this very annoying as these can be found out only after billing. Then you have to wait for a person to explain it to, and then get things done. Most of my purchases, I also find atleast one item in the bill is missing from package among the 25-30 items I buy each time. It is very difficult to keep an eye on the items and manage payment when I go shopping alone.

              I bought nokia 3610 (fold )from star bazaar (dahisar) on 1 st may 2009. on 20 th may speaker of cell started cracking voice amd music so I took it to nokia care center but the executive there told me that the warranty of this cell is over by june 2009, but the cell was purchased in may just 7 months before the problem. the executive at stra bazar argued that the mobile which is billed by star bazar is sold by mobile nxt counter. and they told me to contact mobile nxt. but i was not having the detail so i aked them for the contact no .and the executive there told me thta he will give a call to me when he will get details within 2 -3 dys but till date no one had called me and i dident get any information. ti think star bazar is not taking the responsibility of the problem and this is not expected from tata's. (I spoke to executive named Sandhya and Kaushik)
              Please check in to the matter and inform me accordingly. as soon as possible.

                I visited newly opened Star Bazar,Korum Mall, Thane, on 24/09/09.
                In Bakery section we observed that, packing of freshly cooked bakery product was in progress. Two pa cketrs were on the job, out of which only one was wearing gloves & another was not wearing the gloves. The packer who was wearing the gloves, suggested the other packer to ware gloves which he ignored repeatadely.
                The packer who who was not wareing the gloves, was scartching his body repeadtely and packing the freshly prepared bakery products in plasctic bags.

                There was no supervisor available on the floor.

                Upon complaining of same,and demanding to see the floor Manager, immediatrely two supervisors came to me, who were just chatting in open area of the Star Bazar.

                Upon requesting repeaqtedly to meet the OIutlet Manager, Floor Manager, they did not allow to meet the Manager.

                No register was given to register the complaint.

                WE VISITED SECCOND TIME THE SAME OUTLET ON 02/09/09, AND SURPRISINGLY WE OBSERVE THE SAME PATTERN.

                If there is no difference in Hygenic environment, why shoiuld we buy the product worth of RS 15-20 from roadside outlet where we know that the Hygine is not followed, and sold at the premium hyper markets like SZtar Bazar for on higher value, and same unhygenic environment is followed.

                We went to TATA outlet considering the History of the quality and the standards followed regioursly by TATA's in all fields.

                Or else all shops are same.

                    My Worst ever shopping experience till date.

                    One of my friends had a very bad experience with Star Bazaar. The staff (security) is very unfriendly and would not have passed level 1 test in courtesy. They do not know how to talk to customers when something goes wrong. They would not even bother to listen to the customer. Given a choice between buy nothing and get everything from star bazaar, I would rather choose "buy nothing". Such is the customer handling and service skills. Star bazaar has a long way to go in terms of customer service compared to Big Bazaar, More and Spar.

                    The system is not planned customers in mind. In one such experience, we has shopped for a over Rs3000 and while taking over the phone, we missed to bill an item worth Rs.200. When chose to the exit, we realized and pointed it out to the security that this was not billed. The security instead of pointing out towards to billing counter got the whole battalion of other security (as it was a bank robbery) and then took us to an isolated location and started checking everything inside including the wallet (thanks that they did not ask me to strip). The security in charge (supervisor) was so rude as if he was talking to a burglar who is locked up in prison. The whole exercise was simple but the whole battalion of security made it look very awful and tiring. Finally we have to pay 10x of the item as penalty. (That was 200x10=2000).

                    Worst part, they were forcing us to write a declaration that says "I did it intentionally", which thankfully I did not, and they did not even give me the receipt that said that the Rs2000 paid was a penalty. They gave us a bill which said that the item ten times (I hope the security is not taking it home).

                    I understand that I was forgetful when on the phone, but I believe that there are lots of people who might get into this kind of situations. The store is not prepared for something like this. (Please re-work your billing counter positions to avoid this).

                    Great that this was my first and last experience will be my last. I had a very similar experience in Big bazaar and west side. But thanks to the great staff who made it look so simple and less embarrassing.
                    I would never recommend shopping in Star. I would rather pay the double the price and get it from somewhere else. I know that I do not have to pay double as Big Bazaar and More a in close proximity. I have learnt 2 lessons.

                    1. Do not talk on the phone when shopping.
                    2. Do not shop in Star

                    I went to Star Bazzar on 24 of Jan which was a sunday at Star Bazzar (Chennai)

                    The Two wheeler parkng lot was full by 7.00PM...And i was said to park it some were outside...Which didint felt good for me...The security persons were rude on me...and said get lost from this place...After 30Min of struggle i was able to some how enter the parkingg lot...To my surprise there were hell a lot of space for parking...I took the Parking token which was automized...and went to Star Bazzar with my Wife...We entered the shop which was in the Ground floor...and Bought a small Frock for a 6month old kid...After lokking all the items...We had some in our mind to purchase it later...and came to the Billing counter...was able to see 26 long counters...with every counter atleast 10 people waiting for making the billing...It took almost 1.30hrs to make the bill...Atlast after doing it...when we entered the Shopping Mall... We were surprised to see most of the Shops have closed...Coz it was a closing time...So i would rather advice people to enter the shopping mall first...and then Enter the Star Bazzar later...So that you can save time...

                    Star Bazzar doesn't have trainned Billing Counter sales person...Which took a long while for me...

                    I would rather say this was the Worst ever shopping experience till date was at Star Bazzar.

                    (Hopefully someone from Star Bazzar is reading though this).

                      Hi,

                      I wanted to bring to your notice that I purchased a Rin washing powder packet (1 kg) with the bill number-SLF01S[protected] today from Star Bazaar on which the marked price is Rs 70, however, the price charged to me was Rs 92.07.

                      I detected this discrepancy after reaching home, which is more that 15 kms from that place(Kormagala Star Bazaar).

                      I want the concerned authorities to investigate the issue and let me know why it happened and what course of action are they going to take for this.

                        I do my weekly shopping at your Bangalore, Kormangla, Hosur Road, Star Bazaar . My Card No. is SBS... . For the past month or more Baskin Robbins ice cream has an offer of 1 on 1 free . I have made two purchases, Rs 130 & Rs 80 in Jan . The bill no. details in one case is : Bill No. SLF... Bill Date :[protected] . It seems in both cases the discount that should be given automatically has not been deducted from the bill . Needless to say I do not think it is possible that no one has brought this to your notice for over a month . Some one who would buy a few items or just come for the offer would surely notice. I have had a bad experience with Tata Tele too, where I was sold the USB on a false premise & I wasn't refunded the amount on cancellation of connection and you still owe me around Rs. 1000. Your grevience redressal system is biased towards your self, probably modelled on the Indian justice system. Because of the experience I will never deal with this company of yours. There is definitely a drop of ethical standards at the House of Tata . I have noticed that your chairman now worships Modi and not Yahura Mazda.

                        Now I understand the problem in this case - As Mr Ratan Tata has dealt with Mr Modi in Gujarat, this writer wanted had some pinch.
                        Amazing...
                        i have had the sme product but i got a discount from their stoe where customer gets the freebees. Being a technical person i know the limitation of software and that might have lead with the above customer.

                        As far as the concern for product it is good to raise the concern but in my point of view, to whom (Mr. Modi) Mr. Ratan Tata praise for unbelivelable development in gujarat still remains truth after such kind of arguments or concern. If he was to obey you people to praise/worship/follow then the TATA name would not have been there. If you have guts try to set up an industry in gujarat and you will get an answer why he praised Mr. Modi.


                        Because of you kind of people Mr. Modi's image is spoiled. I and crores of this country belives that Mr. Modi has not done anything wrong its just a fake movement run by opposition. I am afraid they might have hired you to write such comments.
                        Star bazaar has ALWAYS been cheating customers through promotions. And NO I'm not paid by opposition party to write this. Modi is just a man with faults like any other. We have enough gods in India, don't create more.

                          STAR BAZAAR is playing a cheap trick to make some cheap money. The size of the multi grain bread for which they charge 35 Rs, has suddenly been halved (yes 50% reduction in size) with absolutely no change in the price tag. I do understand their strategy, but this is a hard blow to the consumers, who are used to this product. I doubt what else is going on with the preparation to squeeze money out of every grain.
                          I hope they wont continue or resort to such things again, considering the brand (the TATAs) they are representing.

                          This malpractise was noticed at :

                          STAR BAZAAR, KORAMANGALA ( i guess that's the only location they have set it up right now)
                          The magical reduction in size has been applied across all the baking products. And the reason they give is : JUST LISTEN
                          THE CHEFS HAVE CHANGED AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT PROPORTIONS TO COME OUT WITH. disgusting.

                              After purchasing some house hold goods and consumer goods in STAR BAZAR. My important suggestion to purchase the products in other stores rather than STAR BAZAR. Because it is not STAR BAZAR IT IS A FRAUD BAZAR.

                              Strongly agree with you. Star Bazar is giving wrong advertisements for the offers and not abide the commitmemts after purchse. Customer service also very very poor. No co ordination between employees. All my comments with refers to Star Bazar @ Takurmall, Dahisar.

                              Recently i bought a PIGEON 2 burner GAS STOVE in STAR BAZAAR. High leakage within 2 months. Gas waste & Money waste. If Pigeon product is not good then why should they sell it and give 1 yr waranty? I bought because of seeing the big building and TATA brand. But i wasted my money in leakage of Gas and scared to use. Gas products should be in good quality and it is always advisable to buy in Direct dealers even if it cost high without any discounts.

                              Dont buy Gas Stove/ Electrical products in any Bazaar. Because of their discount prize they sell low quality products.

When chose to the exit, we realized and pointed it out to the security that this was not billed. The security instead of pointing out towards to billing counter got the whole battalion of other security (as it was a bank robbery) and then took us to an isolated location and started checking everything inside including the wallet (thanks that they did not ask me to strip). The security in charge (supervisor) was so rude as if he was talking to a burglar who is locked up in prison. The whole exercise was simple but the whole battalion of security made it look very awful and tiring. Finally we have to pay 10x of the item as penalty. (That was 200x10=2000).

                              Worst part, they were forcing us to write a declaration that says "I did it intentionally", which thankfully I did not, and they did not even give me the receipt that said that the Rs2000 paid was a penalty. They gave us a bill which said that the item ten times (I hope the security is not taking it home).

                              I understand that I was forgetful when on the phone, but I believe that there are lots of people who might get into this kind of situations. The store is not prepared for something like this. (Please re-work your billing counter positions to avoid this).

                              Great that this was my first and last experience will be my last. I had a very similar experience in Big bazaar and west side. But thanks to the great staff who made it look so simple and less embarrassing.
                              I would never recommend shopping in Star. I would rather pay the double the price and get it from somewhere else. I know that I do not have to pay double as Big Bazaar and More a in close proximity. I have learnt 2 lessons.

                              1. Do not talk on the phone when shopping.
                              2. Do not shop in Star

                              What u say is true, they dont have a proper lane setup which makes it difficult for the customers to bill the items. The checkouts are messy and clumsy, especially in the ground floor.

                              I purchased a Videocon washing machine with a criteria that it will be delivered on same day. But it got delivered after 2 days and no one respondes to the call and the Manager of the department does not pick up my call.
                              Normally the service given by start bazar people are very vast when compared to bigbazar and more
                              these is the 3rd time m xperencing some problem in STAR BAZAAR, KORAMANAGALA, BANGALORE ...they try 2 fool customer showing something in advertisement.normally customer do not chck their receipt as they ll b in hurry to carry all the stuff n after reaching home sometimes they ll do wrong billing, sometimes they ll put sum aditional stuff in receipt, sometimes they ll jst put more weight in items, 1 wk bk i wnt 2 purchase an iron, their in the shelf it was showing that after discount 449, and aftr coming back home, i came 2 know that thy had charged 599, told them bt they didnt responds, 2day also i wnt bk, bought some items, after coming bk home i wr jst checking the receipt n they had added someting, i took onion for 0.75 kg n in the bill they had charged me for 2.038kg.so i would suggest that STAR BAZAAR s a FRAUD...
                              Big bazzar is the biggest fraud i have ever come across sabse satse mein sabse accha bloody they are charging even more than an any retail supermaket, & other exclusive showrooms, atleast showrooms provide quality products not like BIG FRAUD BAZZAR ..

                              I bought a food bag in chennai Star bazar 2 days ago and still did not receive. I stay less than 1 KM away from the Shop!
                              The phone number I have doesnt work and i googled for contact number without any luck. Everyone has the same number.
                              Should I walk in and wake them up to deliver my Rice bag? Should I starve until I get my delivery? Effin ! LEarn what is service before you start Companies like this! I am not jobless or paid to do pradakshin around your shop!

                              Do not go to Start bazar for any purchase.. IT'S A TOTAL FRAUD... Last week i went for a shopping and got a danish burger, after warming it up in oven it was rotten (they have kept yesterdays food) and i got some chicken of 1.5 kgs, after taking it to home i came to know it a very old chicken and it stinks... And they had some offer ( upto 70%) for near expiry products, when got billed they have not provided any discounts for any of the products.
                              The bill came to Rs.5700 instead of Rs.1800

                              When i went to next day to correct the bill, they behaved as if they are responsible and a sales girl asked to return back the rotten chicken when we complained.. They dont even feel their responsiveness.. Billing was done by an named Pooja.S.. I still have the original copy of bill with me...

                              PLEASE BE DOUBLE CAREFUL IF YOU PURCHASE ANY FOOD ITEM FROM STAR BAZAR, AND CHECK YOUR BILL TWICE AFTER BILLING..

                              STAR BAZAAR — Over Charging

                              Big Bazaar is a fraud. Last week i went to the branch in Ulsoor in Bangalore and shopped stationery items - sketch pen for my daughter. When i checked it home it was all old stock dried up without ink. Be careful you buy things which looks cheap and end up paying double for other things. You get fooled of not saving for what you you bought. The counter staff are very arrogant. The close the counter without any notice and make us run from floor to floor. Toys are very costly compared to market price. Don't give away old items it is just a gimik you end up paying double the price because they give you a token. The counter is left unattended and we have to literally search for sales person. The other branches are much more worst. I wish the management take a rapid step to improve the quality of the store.                               I also request to CUSTOMERS not to purchase any of House Hold/elect items from Star Bazar there is not resposibilty for any items. I was purchased one Elect Kettle (27.th dec.2012)from there (One year warantee is giving to BIRLA CO) a, but 20 days after the product got damaged . I approched to Star Bazar Surat on 15.feb 2013 they taken back the product for repair purpoise now about 20 days, but not get any responsibility, when cantacting to customer case only one reply "we will inform you when the product has been repaired, now the Birla Company technician is on leave. My openion to customers not to purhase any Consumer items from STAR BAZAR.
                              Club Card No SB[protected]. On 24 Apr 13 between 6.30 and 7.30 p.m. purchased products totalling around Rs. 1100/-. The discount/save labels are not correctly displayed. For Eg. Safal Mixed Vegetable - Buy one get one free. This label will obviously lure the customer to pickup two packets (each pkt of Rs.45). But for surpise i was charged Rs. 90. Similar case with ACT II popcorns was charged 30 instead of 26 as per the label. On enquiry at customer care, explanation is given that for Safal- corn packet is free( which is not mentioned there on label) and for ACT II - only if two packets of same flavour are purchsed (not mentioned on label). Very dissappointing to see this kind of fraud prevailing in star bazar (andheri) where innocent customers are falling prey to this. Needs action asap.
