I had policies with insurance portability since 2007 to 2017 i.e till now.My wife under went uterus removal surgery in the month October 2016 in Hyderabad.The claim amount is Rs[protected].star health rejected claim due to not informed in the year 2014, when i came back to star health from new India assurance . by this silly reason they rejected my claim.star health could not considered my insurance with portability i.e last 9 years.this bitter experience we faced with star health.

I paid star health insurance renewal through axis bank net banking, money detected but policy was not renewed.

    Even undergoing medical treatment under star healths "network hospital", and submitting all relevant documents for claim in originals, i am being asked various one and the other document under "different names" makes no sense.

    This is potentially delaying the claim settlement and inviting frustration.

    This claim is open over 4 months and no response on time.

    Kindly help getting appropriate actions towards settlement.

      I am a customer of star health insurance. My last policy expired on 15th nov 2016.
      Nobody informed me that it was due for renewal. The insurance company did not send me any renewal notice. And their agent also slept over it. I have never had to use their facility ever since i bought their policy some six-seven years before.
      Nevertheless as i believe in insurance and i happen to remember that this was due for renewal, i went through my records and realised that my policy had expired 3-4 days ago. When i called up the insurance company they were beating around the bush and so i pulled up my friend who sold me the policy. As this insurance company was accepting credit card payment i could pay the renewal premium on line and renew the policy. But the fact remains that i went without insurance for 4 days!

      The insurance company was telling me that my contact details like my cell no. And e-id were not registered with them. But i found an email the insurance company had sent to me way back in 2013. When i brought this to their notice they were again beating around the bush.
      I am a senior citizen and now i have successfully crossed the insurance company’s cooling off period. So i am not in a position to change the insurance company as i will have to start all over again.
      Is this a sellers’ market! The insurance company is not apologetic even and they don’t own their responsibility.
      I strongly vouch against star health insurance company. I don’t recommend.

        My claim no 0155879 is pending for 3 month now. we have submitted all case papers at dombivali(e)star office pl.let me know why said claim

        brief history
        i have gone through angioplasty, surgery in the jupiter hospital-thane on 28th july2016. i have got two medical insurance policies namely
        new india assurance cashless family floater and star health and allied insurance family floater cashless .which acts as topup.basic claim of rs 3lakhs is received from new india assurance co. but additional expence of rs sixty thousand as a top up is yet to be received from m/s star insurance
        as per medical polices basic sum 3lakhs to be paid by new india assurance which they paidand additional medical expences up to 10 lakhs is to be paid by starinsurance
        m/s star health and allied insurance is not responding now
        they are running away from their duty and responsibilty.
        i hope this clears my case(anxity)

          On or about 28th March 2016 we received a call on land line to pay and renew the policy due in few days . On enquiry we were advised that above mediclaim policy number in the name of Aakanksha Bhargava exist. We asked for the details and surprised to see the details. To the best of our memory we requested for householder policy as my daughter got married and wanted to insure her new house.
          We requested for copy of the mediclaim application form . To our horror we noticed that a) the form not filled by us b) signature were fabricated c) address mentioned is wrong d) Details in the form were wrong e) Telephone number mentioned in the form did not belong to insured f)Aakanksha has asthma and no one would have paid claim as concealing pre-existing disease if Star thinks this be a disease g) Many of the columns are not filled making the form invalid h) Height, weight and income mentioned were wrong . It is clear that who so ever filled the form has never met or see both the insured person. It was advised that one Neeraj Aggarwal was the agent

          Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal agreed to has never visited any insured or insured never visited Star, failed to confirm how and where the form was filled in ID proof provided were not self-attested and not authentic. No mail was ever sent by aakanksha official e mail ID so his allegation is false

          It is also correct that during one year no communication was ever received from Star. No policy was ever received so right to reject within 15 days were denied which is against IRDA rules. No cards were sent required in case someone needs to get admitted in hospital Later they alleged to have send policy by courier but failed to provide any evidence, They sent one PDC with wrong name of insured, no address, no signature of the person if someone received it . Their senior management and even vigilance is part of this fraud

            My self jitendra jain from thane. I have received call from your department regarding switch my icici lombard policy. They insist to me that they are given many featured instead of icici lombard policy. On there request i planned to switch my policy to star health. After that your department concern executive force me to paid immediate and they send me policy switching form. And they were take my credit card no. With expiry date. I given my all bank detail but i told him that my card statement date generate in 19th july. You deduct amount after confirm by me. My issue is that your account deduct amount on dated 19th july without any call or confirmation. When i given our bank detail i told him strictly you can deduct amount after my confirmation. They told me that all conversation are recorded. I never do this type of work. I have already use my credit limit and due to this reason i have paid over limit fee to bank. When i call to your executive they are requested to me that we are sorry. Sir you told me who will pay the additional over limit and its interest to the bank. I have send the mail all authorities but still our payment is not refund. Please resolve my problem

Mera baby aaush nath dey ka cashless plan pahle aaplogo ne reject kar diya or phir rembursment ke liye jab maine apply kiya tou aaj tak mejhe koi document nagi mila hay. Mujhe saari document submit kiye aaj 7 month ho chuk ahay lekin compony se mujhe koi letter nahi aaya hay. Mere liye toy yeh useless plan hay or main kisi koi suggest bhi nahi karoonga ki koi star health ki police le.

              I purchase a family policy before last 2 year. all detail discusses with star health employee. now he is saying that my mother is not eligible for this policy. from 2 year both are enrolled in policy. where i complain .

                Few months ago I was suffering from coronary heart disease. My doctor said that I have to undergo heart surgery, but I was worried about medical bills & hospitalization charges. A relative of mine suggested for Star Health Insurance and I contacted them. I got myself insured and undergone the surgery. Very happy with the service of Star Health Insurance.

                  Dear sir,
                  . I submitted my mediclaim at your Moradabad office on 06/09/2016 but despite my repeated conversations they are not responding properly.
                  Talking on your toll free number i have come to know that documents are not sent to Chennai office yet.Several times i tried to contact your Moradabad office on their landline number and mobile number both but they don't pick up the phone and the chennai office responds that they can't help me because they have not received the claim.Their response is quite irresponsible.

                    When i tried renew the policy company's site took me to one notice and it was written that i should read it and if all particulars are found correct then i shall make online payment for policy .it was written on policy that 5 lakh accidental policy is included in the health policy.i made payment but, in policy paper there was no writing as to accidental insurance benefit.

                        I am really disappointed by investing under this cheap company. At the time of selling us this policy we were given false information. Post we bought their policy, we got to know from one of my family person who works at an hospital that this is a pathetic insurance company and 90 percent of the claims are rejected in their hospital when they are sent to Star company. We still continued with it for 2 years, thinking that they will atleast stick to what they promised. Now after 2 years when we called them to confirm what they promised, these buggers just said a blunt NO. They said our policy doesn't cover what we are asking them. For sure we are not continuing with this company and will spread word of mouth to all of our friends and co-workers never to go with so called **Star insurance**.

                          Dear Team,

                          I am a Health Insurance policy holder from your company since 2011 for my mother & father under the Family Optima plan however this year during renewal we had encountered serious issues due to family shifting and demise of my grandfather due to which I could not renew my policy during the stipulated time however I ensured that the policy gets renewed during the grace period. During the grace period I had tried to renew the policy however the star Health website encountered some issues due to which the policy could not be renewed online hence as a loyal customer of your company for the past 5 years I had contacted you through email and via phone. After consultation an employee of your company names Monica and her supervisor sent me an email stating that the policy is still live and it can be renewed via some offline channel for which I had to make the payment of Rs.8826/- which is the premium amount for the renewal.

                          I then went ahead and made the payment via bank transfer to your HDFC account which your sales team had provided me with post which a verification call was scheduled and I went through with the process. I was given information by the Monica B and Mr.Feroz that the policy is still live and it will be renewed offline via offline payment as the online link is disabled. Earlier I had sent an email to the support team of Star Health as well stating my problem wherein I could not renew the policy online for which I had also attached the screenshots of the issues being faced by me.

                          Now after all this the Star Health guys namely Mr.Feroz and Monica B called me stating that the policy is not renewed as doctors of Star Health are opposed to the idea and their doctors think my parents would be a liability hence they reject my renewal and after all the consultations and communications wherein I was clearly communicated that the policy is still live and it will be renewed post payment via an offline mode. Now the payment is with Star Health account and they are denying the policy neither giving me with any option.

                          I have all the call recordings which occurred between me and the Star Health associates (if required I can send and attach the call recordings) additionally please refer to the email attachments which were sent by the Star Health people. Please assist me and my parents as I am being left out and feel being cheated and left with no choice for my parents.

                            We have enrolled for star heath policy since last yrs and never used anytime never made any claim.
                            This year last month my mother was hospitalised and we had applied for medicliam but i was surprise by the behaviour given by Star health.
                            Our agent MR Jadhav who resides in pune told us he is not responsible for anything and we have to manage or self he has not eaten our money moreover calling at Chennai head office they block our number.
                            My mother was supposed to get discharge in morning at 10am but due to this rude behaviour my mother had to wait till 10pm in hospital.
                            Please do not enroll urself for star health anymore and incase you are enrolling please make sure your agent is good.
                            These agents are only sweet while enrolling and collecting payments, rest year they wont even bother to receive your call.

                                This is in reference to the above subject matter, i would like to inform you that we have mediclaim policy since 2011.
                                We have converted our existing mediclaim policy of national insurance company ltd last year based on your company advisor’s confirmation that all the existing benefits will be converted and continue in star health policy and no break will be considered.
                                Recently one of my family member operated in ear included in above policy but your company has not accepted claim without any concrete valid reason.
                                As per your rejection reason - first consultation dated 30-06-14 patient has complains of hearing loss.
                                I would like to draw your kind attention that my national insurance mediclaim policy was continue from oct’ 2012 to oct’ 2015. Also, your family health optima insurance plan policy mentioned as previous policy no. 270701/48/14/[protected] which is national insurance policy number.
                                Your company advisor has confirmed that “star health policy has mentioned your national insurance policy number means all the benefits are converted and continued in star health policy”.
                                If, your company not considering above clause means your company advisors are misleading the policy holders.
                                This is the 5th year of policy continuation and your company is simply blaming that we had health problem in the year 2014 and we enrolled the policy in the year 2011. What is the logic behind rejection? Just to find the reason for rejection. Once your company approves the claim (Approval sms with us) and send the rejection letter.
                                We have operated ear surgery in the year 2016 based on doctor’s advice and not for enjoyment or process the claim. You can check with the doctor from your reliable sources.
                                As per the procedure, intimation has been done and your re-presentative was visited at hospital during hospitalization.
                                We’re not at all wrong from our side and we deserve the claim benefits as per explained by your company advisor.
                                Expecting favorable reply from your company in 10 days otherwise we’ll have to compel to take legal
                                Actions.

                                  Dear sirs,

                                  My customer id[protected] and pol no 057587. I had planned to be admitted in Fortis

                                  Malar Hospital in Chennai to operate Carotid and Vertebral arteries. On 9th aug 2016

                                  I became unconscious for one minute while I was in the church. Followed by

                                  examinations and investigations at nearby Apollo Hospitals by Dr. Balakumar.S.

                                  It was diagnosed as both the carotid and both vertebral arteries having significant

                                  stenosis. As the case to be urgently treated I found to be admitted in Fortis on

                                  good prospects.

                                  When the hospital approached star health for cash less treatment the CLAIM NO

                                  0159813 been rejected for cashless as the disease can be be chronic.

                                  As a marine engineer I am sailing in merchant navy from 1990 continuously with

                                  out failed any time on medical grounds. My last assignment completed and I signed

                                  off from vessel OSL GLORY on 30th june 2016. Before joining every ship a strict

                                  medical check up as per ILO CONVENTIONS being followed. The DG SHIPPING

                                  Rejecting cashless treatment under these circumstances will be wrong precedent

                                  Thank you for your initiation. The doctors have planned to operate one artery at a time and the next will be operated in 2 or 3 weeks after. So all the four arteries will be treated in two months time. Delaying the process may lead to stroke or paralytic.
                                  I am expecting the insurer co-operation in this very much. The hospital has to plan for hard wares like stents well in advance.

                                  Hence I kindly request you to guide me to solve this issue asap.

                                    Dear sir,

                                    I would like to inform you that three days ago my wife had admitted in hospital for a minor surgery and the total bill amount is only rs 12, 336/-. out of this amount you have been settled only rs.11, 100/- and the balance amount paid by myself.

                                    Total coverage of my insurance policy you can check by yourself. i expected that star health insurance is well reputed and systematized organisation. so i didn't expect this type of practice from your company. kindly explain me what does it mean full coverage also the insured amount?.

                                    Kindly check by yourself and refund the balance amount of rs 1336 either as cheque or debit to my account.

                                      How you did insurance without photograph and other relevant document/details (No email/ no photograph) of the proposer?
                                      Where is the cash less medi claim card and policy papers?
                                      Details of the policy holder is false. Signature are forged.
                                      This cheque was taken for householders policy and misused for medi-claim.

                                      Ask your associate mr. Neeraj aggarwal how he quoted and processed policy.
                                      I want amount to be refunded within 3 days of the mail otherwise we will file case of fraud and malpractice against you

                                        Hello,

                                        I am very disappointed at the way Star Insurance handled my mothers case. They never did any tests when they issued the policy, though I insisted for them to conduct the same. My mom underwent a Gall Bladder stone removal operation in June 2012, before they carry on the operation, all tests were conducted & heart valves were clear. Over a period of time, she had chest pain & showed to the doctor in Novemeber & she underwent a surgery On Dec 6th, 2012. They concluded that it is a pre-existing disease. We had declared that she was under no medication for heart nor she had any issues when this policy was initiated. How did they determine that it was "Pre Existing"?

                                        We wrote a letter & they just denied even speaking to us. They said the team visited the hsopital, but met none (Neither me nor my mom). There was no valid grounds, as to how it was denied.

                                        Inclined below are the details & a mail that came after months:

                                        Diagnosis : ischemic heart disease and triple vessel disease.
                                        Date of admission : 05/12/2012
                                        Name of hospital & location : Fortis Hospital -Cunning Ham Road, BANGALORE
                                        We have perused the claim records relating to the above insured-patient sent to us seeking reimbursement of hospitalization expenses for the treatment of ischemic heart disease, and triple vessel disease.

                                        Our medical team has observed that the CAG report shows multiple critical HTN, diffuse total occulusive coronary artery disease involving all coronaries with collateral and distension, which denotes it is a chronic long standing disease present prior to inception of medical insurance policy. The present ailment of the insured patient is therefore a pre-existing disease.

                                        As per Exclusion No.1 of the policy issued to you, the Company is not liable to make any payment during the first year of operation of policy, in respect of expenses for the treatment of pre-existing diseases, for which treatment or advice was recommended or received during the immediately preceding 12 months from the date of policy.

                                        We therefore regret our inability to admit your claim under the above policy and we hereby repudiate your claim.

                                        Incidentally, it is brought to your attention that the above pre existing disease is not disclosed by you at the time of inception of the policy. It is now incorporated in your policy by passing an endorsement by our operating office.
