My name is Chirag Shah and I am holding an account with SBI HADAPSAR PUNE branch. Following is description about my complaint.
I requested for a Safe Deposit Locker to SBI HADAPSAR branch on 23rd Feb 2011 & 25th Feb . For the same, I talked to Branch Manager Mr. S. N. Kajbaje. He told me, I will get Safe Deposit Locker in a week time only if I am ready to pay term deposit of more than 3L or if I buy a insurance plan of yearly premium 50000. If I do any of the above then I will get the Safe Deposit Locker with in the week, otherwise many other existing customer are waiting in queue to get the same and are ready to pay this much of deposit.
Question: I want to understand, if the Safe Deposit Locker are available then why the branch manager is putting customer on hold. Does he want to do an auction of the Safe Deposit Locker? by which he can fulfill the target given to the branch. If that is not the case then why he is insisting me to pay either 3L together or buy a insurance policy.
When I asked him that if I want to have Safe Deposit Locker in normal way then what is the procedure. He told me he will write my name in queue only if I buy the term deposit. I asked him about the SBI rule guide for providing the Safe Deposit Locker then he told me that he is having his own rule set and have not shown interest in showing me the rule set. He has done shameful and rude behavior to the Customer of his own Branch.
Please provide me the details of the rule set or guide-line to get a Safe Deposit Locker.
I am very disappointed by the behavior of "BRANCH MANAGER" of one of the biggest BANK of entire world with highest number of customers.
As an individual customer, I am taking stand to do a complain against him. Please do the needful and please teach the Branch Manager how to treat or behave with the Customer.
