I planned to travel to andaman for five (05) days and six (06) nights from 31.12.2016 to 04.01.2016. I booked one package for andaman for 5d (6n) on 6th nov’2016 at m/s thomas cook india ltd. At the time of booking, i specifically asked for best package with deluxe rooms facility. I am from vizag and my tour was from chennai, which is 800 kms away. I have to reach chennai by train and i can’t catch early morning flights. I told the same to the booking clerk and requested for information about flight timings, which was denied. They told me that i had to pay initial deposit amount of ₹30, 000 and only then they can share the details about flight timings. But the booking clerk promised me that i won’t get early morning flights from chennai.
However, after i paid initial deposit amount, their staff never called me to either confirm my tour or send me flight timings. When i raised a complaint, they send me proforma invoice (Attached with this mail) which informed that i got standard package instead of deluxe package. Also, one mr. Amit sureshbahadur singh told me that they can share flight details three (03) days before only. I had to travel from vizag and book train in advance. So, again i raised a complaint and told that i had to cancel the booking since i was not getting any details as promised at the time of booking. Also, the booking was for standard package instead of deluxe package.
Now this time they have send me flight details. The flight from chennai is scheduled to depart at 8:15 am. There is no way i can catch that flight. I don’t have any choice other than to cancel the tour.
However, they told me that there will be no refund of ₹30, 000 paid by me at the time booking, as per their terms and conditions. They told that as per their terms and conditions, entire initial deposit of ₹30, 000/- is cancellation charge. But this terms and conditions is not as per government guidelines. You are requested to kindly take action in this regard.
The malpractices indulged by m/s thomas cook india ltd. Are summarized below:
1. The company doesn't share flight details until we pay the initial deposit amount, which is very high (₹30, 000/- in my case).
2. They take the entire initial deposit amount as cancellation charge, which is illegal.

    Having a misconception that Thomas cook is a good travel organiser i had booked a tour for 2 from Chennai to Singapore. After paying all the due amounts the company never gave a itinerary in advance. TC has just booked the tour, received the amounts and Outsourced the project to some roadside vendors in Singapore, who are least bothered about the customers. One person came to the airport gave the schedule as per his convenience. First two days of my arrival there was no programme and i could not plan any sightseeing as i was totally unaware of the schedue. They were obviously waiting for more people to join to save their transport expenses. We were then left at the mercy of some arrogant drivers, They had no guides for us, when all other travel agencies had engaged guides.
    In the absense of guidance and wiithout knowing the scenic spots, the tour was a disaster and this group i.e Thomas cook, claiming to be the pioneers don't even acknowledge or reply to our complaints.
    I hereby advise everyone to stay away from Thomas cook, They are not honest and donot care for their customers once you pay them.

      I have booked a tour package european wonders from thomas cook. I have paid full amount i.e-2.66 lacs on time.But due to poor medical condition i am not able to go on a tour i contact thomas cook from last 1 week that please extend my date to some other package . I will pay extra charge for that they are saying ok we will do that but now they are saying this is not possible at all we are not even going to refund a single penny.They are saying once you paid we are not going to give you anything either you are in hospital.
      i request them kindly refund atleast 75 % but they are not going to refund only 25 %.

          Sir we had booked tour of Simply Kashmir tour of6N7D from Thomas Cook India Ltd on 16/06/2016 but unfortunately in the Kashmir violence and terrorist attacks is going on and the place is not safe for tourists so request ed to cancel our trip to genuine reason and ask for refund of Rs27000 the booking amount but they are not giving any response we are very depressed for that several times we mail them and phone calls to Mr Vicky Sugar but he ignored please help us.

            We had booked tickets for simply kashmir tour 6n/7d on 16/06/2016 through online booking of thomas cook india ltd - booking reference no: g[protected].
            As kashmir is undergoing violence and terrorism these days, we planned to cancel our booking, travel there being risky. So we approached the company to cancel our booking and refund us our booking amount r's 27000/-, as the cancellation is genuine.
            Unfortunately, the company is not responding to us despite sending them request emails as well as having telephonic talks with mr vicky sagar, the concerned official.
            Kindly help us to get back refund of our booking amount on cancellation.

            I am regular buyer of the Arvind store -Nagpur. Available person in store is very rude and they are not understand the guest requirement. They are misbehave and speak rude and mi chives with me. They are speaking dirty language and if you reply than they may be hit you.

              I have opted for europe tour. And opted for trip protection plan for if i dont get visa. So that i can get my payment back. My visa got refused. Then i asked them to give my payment back. Thomas cook said they will give refund in 15 days. But after 15 days i havent got my payment. And when i ask for payment they say process will take time. Now it happened more then 17 days

                    Hello i am nikhil. I have booked holiday package from thomas cook. Before booking they promiced me that all hotels which are included in my package were 3star or 4 star level hotels. And told that they cannot include dinner because it will cost around 3000 per dinner as it is 3star level hotel.
                    But when i have moved to hotel it was horriable. Not even 1star level, very basic hotel. Everywhere fungus appearing, toilets were not clean. When i called thomas cook they were pointing fingures to other persons. No one helped me in this case. Hotels they mentioned in package details are too good than what i got. And service was horriable.
                    Requesting you to pls look in to this matter and refund my money which thomas cook earn by bluffing me.

                      We booked our customized tour of Bangkok-Phuket from 6 june 2016-11 June 2016. they agreed to give us full service of taxi, breakfast, Lunch during their tour. attached below is the itenary given by them, And charges of air tickets and land fare, etc.
                      We encountered the following difficulties
                      - When checked in our hotel in Phuket, The receptionist refused to provide the room as the payment had not been transferred to their account. We waited for almost 2 hours without AC, at the hotel lobby.
                      - WE were constantly trying to contact Thomas Cook, But they were not picking up any calls, or responding to our emails
                      - We Deposited 400 USD to the hotel assuring them if the payment is not done by Thomas Cook, the hotel will deduct this amount, And whatever else the payment is req. they will charge from us
                      -We reached Bangkok . We were transferred to Salil Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 8.It was rated 4*, But the rooms were too small. Water was logging in the Washroom, both in the basin, and the bath tub in both our rooms
                      - Shower was Not working in one of our rooms..
                      - they were not listening to our complaints. Nor, the Thomas Cook Representatives
                      - They Served us Bread with mould sticking on it. And We Faced Problems With regard to vegetarian food.
                      -ON june 9 . We had to go to Safari World. we had to be picked up by 8 am. we waited till 10, and called the representatives innumerous times, only to be get assured that the cab will arrive in 15 min. Astonishingly, At 10;30, They called us that the trip was postponed to the next day. We had a free say, the next day, as we had some appointments fixed on this day after lunch, so we went back on our own cost to attend the appointment, as the taxi man refused to take us to our Destination. Our whole day was wasted because of the carelessness of Thomas Cook
                      - We upgraded our rooms, because they were shabby, at our own cost
                      - On 10th June, Our pickup was again delayed. We got picked up at 9 am and waited for other people at another hotel for about 1 and a half hour, and reached Safari World at 11;45 . We missed a show, And we rushed to watch the seal show.
                      - Our Whole trip was in Vain with loss of money and time, we failed to enjoy to trip, as all the time there some or the other problems created by the Thomas Cook Agents in Phuket and Bangkok.
                      our whole trip was ruined all due to the indifference of Thomas Cook.

                        . First I am booked on Oman Air, I have asked specifically for a good airliner and you have given me a third class airliner…. ( when I was doing the booking I was promised that I will be given Emirates or equivalent)
                        2. My documents were so delayed that there was no one to respond ( I have to call Ratna several times), he never calls me back to update the status on anything
                        3. My sons last name was wrongly written by Ratna and it reflected the same in my sons Insurance and tickets….i have asked for change of last name and looks like you had to pay additional 10, 000 so they opted just for a remark in the airline system….i have no update on same

                        Overall experience with Bhargav Mattaparthi, Kiran Mattaparthi and Ratna has been horrible and has given me lot grief….even today I have to call Ratna, he never calls me back on any issue…he is working out of Nellore where as he has taken the bookings from me in Hyderabad

                          This is in reference to the Thomas Cook travel recently completed for package Exotic Kashmir with Daksum, commenced on 1st of May 2016. Reference Booking ID/Customer Code - G[protected]

                          We went on this trip with family thinking it will be indeed a great trip and as your agent said that the extra money you take as compared to your competitors is for the unmatched professional service you provide which will make the trip memorable.And the trip was indeed memorable but for all wrong reasons and let me just highlight a few of them below.

                          1. The houseboat 'Mother India' had a dilapidated bathroom with leaking sink broken shower curtain .The wodden panels in the bedroom had wide gaps ensuring minimum privacy. I did not create much fuss thinking it is the first mismanagement.


                          2. We had Daksum in the itinerary for which there was a group of 6 only. Hence a separate car was provided. Nobody from Thomas cook, specifically Tour Manager Devesh & Sampres Parrera did not bother to check AC is not working. We have to go Phalagam from Srinagar on a non-AC vehicle. When asked why AC is no there, the reply from driver was we dont need AC going forward and accommodate today. He promised to fix it which never happened. After much quarrel with Mr. Teja (Tour Manager) I got an AC vehicle from Day 4 onwards.

                          3. No local tour guide was provided for the first two days quoting a reason that a tour guide is not required in this tour, we a group of 6 was literally on our own. I have to reason on this point also with Mr. Teja that Thomas Cook is committed to provide a local guide however small the group is as per tour itinerary. After much reasoning a tour guide was arranged from Day 4 onwards

                          4. The new local guide was completely useless and had no info on the history of the gardens at srinigar or any other place. Looks to me he was just a travel companion. The driver has more info Instead. On top of that instead of protecting the tourists from local touts, they encouraged them. For e.g:- there was no requirement of another local guide in Gulmarg, he could have easily managed that job. I did not understand why taking a 2nd level local guide in Gulmarg is so mandatory.

                          5. The entire tour had no specific lunch stops and most of the days they stops were taken at 3.30 -4PM

                          6. Hotel at Srinagar Paradise Gateway was worst .The rooms dusty, leaking bathroom, no hot water, worst food . Even the hotel staff were rude when complained on the problems. And Thomas Cook rates it as 3 star. On top of that heater was separately charged, why you do not include such basic amenities in tour cost.

                          7. At Gulmarg we released Gondala ride cost was not included in our package while it was included in other package of thomas cook. Why such a difference, did we incurred more cost by staying Daksum instead of Gulmarg like the other groups ?

                          8. On return day, I was sent with my group to airport early though my flight time was later. I had to wait 3 hrs in airport for no reason. Why Thomas Cook could not arrange the Delhi flight people can go separately than Mumbai flight, they could have easily formed the group and arrange for transport like it was done on the 1st day. This shows how mismanaged the tour managers are.

                          9. Since most of the hotel was of Paradise Group, we found the same dinner Menu in all places. You should take extra care that we are getting some variety. Any simple request for my 4 yr old kid of plain dal and over boiled rice was not taken care anywhere.

                          10. What was the job of the Tour Managers. I found them only briefing the next day plan, most of the time they were not available to listen to our complains. They lack the personal touch I had experience in my previous tours.

                          As you see the Tour was completely mismanaged from Day 1. I felt the tour managers do not know how to meticulously plan each and every task. Why in the world I have to complain on all the above points when I was supposed to enjoy the trip. Instead everyday I landed up calling the tour managers complaining which completely ruined my mood and interest to carry on this tour.

                          These are the few takeways from the trip which charges 34000/ and claims to be the best of the lot .I claim a 40% refund for the reasons quoted above. Please escalate this feedback to the correct channel in Thomas Cook. I will appreciate if you can update me on the refund process/status.


                          The feedback will be posted in social media too so that other common people don't get conned by reputed tour companies like you.

                          Note:- I am a repeat customer of Thomas Cook. My first trip was to Egypt in 2014 with this company where I had the most memorable experience of my life. I did not found a single reason to complain on that trip which was awesomely managed, and I do appreciate Mr. Nikhil who was our tour manager for his personal touch in all our requests . For the very same reason, I had booked my current Kashmir Package blindly. What I did not realize is that Thomas Cook maintains different quality standard in international and domestic tours.

                            On 14/04/2016, an initial discussion started with co representative on customised tour package to s e asia.. A verbal agreement was done and cheque issued for air ticketing purpose. Next day, initially go ahead given to tcil to purchase tickets but requested them for a formal mail with final itinerary and package cost. No reply received. Next day i asked for holding cheque till agreement made by both parties. No formal mail received for two days. On 19/04/2016 receive formal mail, by which time cheque had been presented to my bank ( i had put stop payment ). Since 17/04/2016, i have been writing tour cannot proceed till agreement by both parties complete. Since 25/04/2016, receiving mails that ticket has been issued and now i have to pay the cancellation charges, for a tour i never signed or agreed for. I do not even know what air ticket has been issued in my name. I have details of all the mail correspondence between the two parties.

                              Hello

                              I am an authorized portal for Thomas Cook India

                              We have booked ticket for one of our client from Ahmedabad to Kingston and due to change in plan we have cancelled the ticket which was fully refundable ticket

                              Waiting from almost 10 days, I still haven't received refund for my ticket

                              Emailed them several times and the answer was you will receive by banking hours on Monday which is 2nd May, still haven't received anything.

                              Moreover, they have stopped responding my emails

                              Hopefully it gets resolved after this complaint

                                Worst service at thomas cook. We have booked asian delight package (20-26th april) which got cancelled by thomas cook due to non availability of passport at the last minute. The tour manager jitender (G.N chetty road chennai) didnt make proper communication from the begining and has the poorest co-ordination ever.False commitments right from the begining and dumb employees who don't even deserve working in such hospitality services.We have been asked to wait till the last moment before departure and cancelled the tour at the last minute. We demand full refund(2.94 lakhs+ interest charges). Pathetic experience.

                                  Thomas Cook has promised to provide LTA bills after complete the journey but they were fail to provide the same. I lost the chance to reimburse the travel amount from my organization. During visit to North East tour the accommodation which they provided was too bad and also he places which should cover as per planned was not completed.

                                    Thugs from Thomas Cook are just bunch of worthless individuals...i have converted 20k baht into INR and they gave me fake currency notes of 1000/- denominations...Now these people are running the fake currency note rackets and harassing customers..They just denied the responsibility and their arrogance is surprising as if they are doing some social service...I just hope they are not far from bankruptcy in near future...It will not be surprising if some day they news of fake currency and terrorist funding will be the back end business of Thomas Cook...pathetic people with dead ethics...will spread this message across my friends and in social media and watch them losing the business... You guys should be banned by the government like green peace from doing business in the name of wrongdoings to customers...Dear citizens, Fake currency racket and Thomas Cook is hand in hand cheating customers across India...Request you to stay away from these fraudsters...
                                    I also went through a similar problem...i got my tour details just 5 days before my tour...i complaint on their Fb page n they told me to write to service.[protected]@in.thomascook.com with my contact details and my problem ... n after that my problem got solved very quickly. u try writing your complaint to that id with your contact details and problem. dey will help u.

                                      Tour: Europe for all (Winter) 2015 Date:[protected] Booking Reference: HLD1166940 I booked this tour for our honeymoon. The visa handled department filled up the form so vaguely that it got rejected. The faults that were pointed out by swiss consulate during interview were as follows: 1. Both the travellers were marked single inspite of going on a honeymoon after the marriage date by Thomas Cook representative. 2. The hotel bookings were not in our name. 3. The intened stay were thus not reliable. I am a Govt. of India U/T executive working with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited. This misery has been caused to us even though I had a business schengen visa stamped on my passport just because of application negligience of Thomas cook staff. The thomas cook staff at Connaught place, Delhi has been handling this case and they call up only when the payment is required. Rest of the time, I have to keep tracking. The reason being provided is that all the operations are handled from Mumbai office and they can't tell anything so keep waiting. Same visa rejection has happened to all other customers fro this date from Thomas Cook delhi. Thomas Cook representative at Delhi has clearly stated over telephone on 17.12.2015 that no one has been granted visa for this trip for the prescribed date. I requested for shifting of this honeymoon because it is special to us tour but still there is no response and just waiting. I hereby again request to help us in the situation to either refund our hard earned money deposited with Thomas Cook or plan an alternative tour.
