Dear Sir / Madam

I am vareyo shinglai tangkhul from Bangalore. Karnataka India,. I have applied for a pan card to your agencies on date 06 feb 2010 by filling a Pan card forms in details with my neede documents. And a pay 200 rupees for the Pan card. this is my bearing application SR NO.[protected] and processing fee coupan no.[protected]
As per your agencies information i have to recieved a pan card within 15 to 20 days from the appleid date.
but i did not recieved the Pan card yet.

Therefore, Kindly help me how to get a pan card.

    It's been a year that I bought two watches from India today but never got it delivered. Despite of admitting that it's a mistake, they have not tried to despatch my watches. I have more than 20 email communication with them they just reply we are looking into this issue and keep patience your items would be delivered soon. It's a high time and I am run out of patience and coolness.Only I would advice everybody be careful while ordering any item from India Today Book Club.

    Can anybody advice me what can I do against them, should go to consumer court or what legal action I could take?

    India Today Book Club — problem with swatch watch

    I purchased a SWATCH WATCH from India today book club with the details as below:
    Order ID :- MITBC-WEB[protected]
    Order no.:- INTERNET/0GA[protected]

    However, the upper dial of the watch lost in the same day. I enquired various swatch service centers at Bangalore, each of them are saying that swatch does not provide the spare parts individually for its watches, therefore you need to replace the watch from where you have purchased.

    I called the customer care number of indiatoday book club[protected], but they are saying that the watch can not be replaced.
    i am not sure what to do.

    Also please consider the fact that I have invested 2150/- and can not wear the watch even for 1 hour.

    India Today Book Club — Problem with India Today Book Club purchase

    I place a order on 24rth of July 09 for "4 Britannica Encyclopedia CD's + Reebok Watch worth Rs.2600 for Rs.499" using my CREDIT CARD and I get delivery on 14th Aug.09 after too many emails to your team (email ID: [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com ITBC0980260)

    But they send me a 4 MUSIC CD instead of 4 Britannica Encyclopedia CD's ! PLUS NOT send me a Reebok Watch worth Rs.2600 !!!

    Whey I inform them on same day of delivery, I get reply after 4 days and they tell me to send CD's back to "India Today Book Club, B-47, Indira Enclave, Neb Sarai, New Delhi- 110068." And they also said that they send me a new parcel plus paid me courier fees as soon as they get original parcel.

    And I send parcel on 22nd Aug.09 with all 4 Music CD's (in original pack condition) + Invoice Photo Copy + intimation letter + Courier receipt original copy.

    Dispatch Date: 22nd Aug.09

    Their Delhi office people get delivery on 24th Aug.09 but they not confirm item delivery PLUS still not dispatch my original items PLUS Reebok Watch worth Rs.2600!

    I send them too many massages but NO reply (I send emails to their all email IDs : [protected]@intoday.com; [protected]@intoday.com; [protected]@intoday.com; malcolm.[protected]@intoday.com; [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com; [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com for fast reply)

    And after 15 days just today I received message from "Mr.Kuldeep Singh" : We regret to inform you that the matter has been already forwarded to the concern department. The refund is currently in process and is expected to be with you within-25-30 working days. There are some internal formalities which we have to follow up to arrange your refund of Rs. 499/- so we request you to provide us this much of time to look into this matter. Hope you shall bear with us in the interim.

    Now they tell me to wait for 25-30 days! Also they not said anything about my courier charge refund !!!

    If I wait for more 30 Days that what is the guarantee that I get refund ? Also if I wait for this many days than I loose chargeback option with my credit card company already 40+ days pass...

    Its my a very very bad experience with indiatodaybookclub ....

    I also tell them that I am going to post complain against them on forums and your site but nothing! They have NO time to reply or response after payment. Only searching for new buyers...

    Very BAD...

    Hope to get my full money + courier charges return fast... OR I am going to file a consumer case against this cheater people of India Today Book Club.

    Even I m facing similar from India today book club. I had paid 3199 for reebok products on 6th of july but still i have not received any item.
    Every time i get same answer wait for 14-15 days. Mr. Kuldeep Singh is the same guy who gave me similar answer 4 times.
    Please let me know if your problem is resolved and how?
    I thought I was the only one going through hell because of India Today Book Club but I was wrong. I had also ordered for 2 watches in the month of June'09 & TODAY is when I get one of the watches. All these months I must have spoken to over 16 representatives, written many mails & everytime I was told a new story.

    I really thought if this way the way India Today serviced their customers there club is soon to be doomed. I must have spent numerous hours, energy & lost my sanity while talking to them. Everytime you call them the last supervisor you spoke to has quit the job - that wasn't too surprising either - I mean who would like to work for a company which doesn't know the word CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

    Now when I received my long awaited package, I wasn't excited at all coz i knew these guys couldn't get it right even now & I was right again - the watch that was sent to me -FINALLY - was a mockery of what SWATCH produces...but at last I am happy that this ordeal has ended & NEVER will I have to speak to INDIA TODAY again

    I was been offered through SMS Numero uno watch worth Rs 2799.00 free only i have to pay rs 499/- as postage and handling charges.the watch is delivered to me but it was not of that company as told to me in SMS local made united colours benetton watch send to me which is also not in running condition . Further unique code provided me to claim free gift by logging on www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm, here in spite of several atempt the number is not accepted.It is surprised to me big name and reputed co. like india today book club has done this .
    I bought a wrist watch (UCB leather watch) through India today book club but its movements shows some problem from the start itself. I changed the battery but the problem still remains.

    What to do?

      Dear Sir,

      I have been writing to india today book club since past one year, but i think its a usual practice with india today book club to cheat and fool peoples, after lodging twice complaint in your website also no action has been taken, it makes me feel that there is no perfect forum wherein the consumer complaints can be resolved, i have been taking this issue since a long time but neither you have interfered nor i have received any satisfactory response from india today book club. they have taken a money from me and sent an empty box, eithet they should refund my money or compenate for the same, if this website is not an effective tool, please suggest an alternate measure.

      Please refer to the attached e mail communication you will understand the pain i have been going through.

      Please revert its taking so much time, or simply say that are in the business of cheating peoples. some body can take a month or two to investigate into the matter.but years and decades i cant understand. your bookclub might have made millions by cheating customers. but the money i paid to you was my hard earned money. atleast respect the value of money. please refer my appended mail and see the date, since when i am complaining about the matter. your mail id does not have a power to resolve the matter. my friend please refer me a mail id which can address the my complaint.

      India Today Book Club — I have not received Reebok shoes and Benetton watch even after one month

      I had ordered for reebok shoe and benetton watch(Order no TELESALES/0GA[protected] more than a month ago and paid the amount through credit card, and I am still awaiting for any response regarding dispatch detail. Every time I send mail, I get response that your order is on way and you will receive within 7-10 days. Please let me know what I am supposed to do in this case.

      India Today Book Club — Non delivery of two sets of Reebok Shoes and Benetton Watches

      Sir,
      I have already placed an order for two sets of "Reebok shoes" and two "Benetton Watches". My order No:0GA[protected] and My Membership No: ITBC09895884 favouring D.Rajiv Shankar. It is about three months ago I placed the order. I placed the order on 26/2/09. Regarding the order I have paid Rs.3398 through credit card which was debited on 26/2/09 and credited in to "LIVING MEDIA INDIA " account. The Reference. No. of credit card payment is 769940. My credit Card Number is :[protected] in the name of D.Chenchayya.

      I have already sent five mails to them and got the response from them stating that the placed order items were dispatched through "SPEED POST COURIER" and will be reaching within a week. But I have not recieved anything so far.

      One day I have contacted over phone to their number[protected] and surprisingly the person who recieved the call, informed me that the above order is meant for only One pair of Shoes and watch and will be mailed within a week. I informed that the payment was debited on 26/2/09 for Rs.3398 for two pairs of shoes and watches and why you have conveyed the message of the order for one pair of shoes and watch. He informed that the credit card voucher copy may be sent through e-mail and it will be corrected.Therefore I had sent a mail to the INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB. Here with I am attaching the copy of credit card voucher payment which was debited through my credit card for two pairs of shoes and two watches.

      Kindly Consider my complaint and take necessary action as soon as possible

      indiatoday has become one of most irresponsible and an organization without any ethic.I strongly condemn its attitude and request every body not to get trapped by its false and unethical buisiness policy.
      ONLINE COMPLAINT- I Placed an order for DVD(5 speaker with woofer)+holiday voucher+ wrist watch benetton on 25 June 2009 and payment worthing Rs. 7598/- made on same day by credit card to LIVING MEDIA INDIA A/C. My membership no.ITBC0950797, ORDER NO.0GA[protected], BOOKING ID NO.[protected]. Aroound two months had passed the item was not delivered yet.

      Already I had sent 5-6 E mail to thisgroup but every time getting response that my order was processed from that end and will be getting the items within few days.On 07 July 2009 I received an sms saying Dear Tapan Kumar Goswami your order no 0GA[protected] for Rs. 7598/-has been dispatched on[protected] by DM SF NC P/190105, but even after 50 days neither the item was delivered nor any positive response given by this group.I had communuicated every details by mail but it seems that this group is in practice of deceiving people at large.

      Toll free no. of this group is no more in existance and already I spent a few hundred rupees trying to contact on[protected], but every time listening to their automated music and automatred voice and without any human interface.

      Please take necessary action to deliver booked items safely.

        Respected Sir,

        After obtaining the membership for subscription of Money Today Magazine (No.MONTD 1881097), the Company, after 6 weeks, sent me a Benetton watch ( which is a confirmed Gift with membership) from its New Delhi Offfice. On opening the same, it was found that the said watch is DUPLICATE one and of highly sub-standard quality. The watch was not working from the time I opened the couriered parcel. The matter was reported to the concerned Company through Toll Free No.[protected] who informed me that I am required to incur the courier charges to ensure that delivery is made at their Noida office. It was further clarified that on receipt of the same, the company will replace the defective and duplicate watch. I am placed in Mumbai and am not liable to spend money on courier charges as it is the fundamental duty of the Company to ensure that they comply with their statutory obligations as has been agreed to. I am prepared to return the watch anytime to their counterparts in Mumbai only.
        Having regard to the nature and circumstances of the case, I am of the view that either M/s. Living Media India Ltd. or the suppliers of the Benetton watches or the concerned intermediaries have involved in dubious business to throw the dust into the eyes of the public for pecuniary gains.

        I shall be grateful, if the concerned authorities intervene and do the needful in the matter at the earliest.

          I had purchased a trouser from the Phexox Mill Store in Mumbai during the sale period. On the next day itself the Store Manager - An arrogant character, refused to exchange citing the company policy, which is incidently correct as confirmed by the Office of the Managing Director of the Company.

          My objective is to forewarn people from buying Benetton as the company surely sells substandard seconds material in sale which they are too glad to get rid off and dont want it back.

          They need to learn from other brands if they even remotely think that they are competing with the other international brands. Even the neighbourhood shops are more customer friendly and understand customer retention.

          United colours of benetton — Faulty Exchange Policy

          I had purchased a trouser from the Phexox Mill Store in Mumbai during the sale period. On the next day itself the Store Manager - An arrogant character, refused to exchange citing the company policy, which is incidently correct as confirmed by the Office of the Managing Director of the Company.

          My objective is to forewarn people from buying Benetton as the company surely sells substandard seconds material in sale which they are too glad to get rid off and dont want it back.

          They need to learn from other brands if they even remotely think that they are competing with the other international brands. Even the neighbourhood shops are more customer friendly and understand customer retention.
          Being rude to customers must be high on the list for training of it's employees. I too purchased an item and wanted to exchange it the very next day as it the material stretched out of shape. The policy on the receipt stated returns within 14 day in original condition which it was, however I was advised by the arragant clerk "No returns". Funny how they are all smiles when taking your money. Further, there is no place to file official complaints. How do they stay in business. They have certainly lost mine!
          I had the same experience today. Yestday I purchased an item for a present, which was not the wished one, so today I tried to return it at Benetton's shop in The Mall in Sofia, Bulgaria, but the flat answer was "No returns". Why on earth Benetton has such a wrong policy against the receipt stated returns? May I have an answer by the Company's officials?
          I had faced the same faulty excghange policy of Beneton.
          My son purchase a t shirt frommumbai on 25th april 2011 for rs 699.I went today to get it exchange due to size from gurgaon MGF mall showroom. They refused to oblize me to pay extra money for the same product and guided me to visit Beneton Outlet in sector 14 Gurgaon showroom. They agrred to exchange the same at 30% discount price.It all prove that the company is cheating their customer firstly with the price and secondly at the time of exchange of the products.

          I just made the mistake of buying a present for someone from Benetton Oxford Circus London...I was told at the register I have 14 days to return it...the knit had pulls in it and when I took it back to the store, the manager stood there and said I am viewing the CCTV footage now of when you bought the knit and you were told it could not be returned ...I explained to her that it is faulty and she called the store security to stand near me like I was some criminal...I won't be shopping at Benetton again, it just proves they have no faith in their product...

          Hello: Last week (28/jun/13) I received a gift shirt from a relative. The shirt was bought at United Colors of Benetton in Pradera Concepción Mall, Guatemala city. I didn´t like the color of the shirt so I tried to exchange it just for another color. Apparently it was an on sale shirt. They simply refused. I asked them what would have happened if the shirt would have not fit and they answered that they would have also refused to exchange the product.

          They even cut the tag to have a &quot;reason&quot; to refuse exchanging their products.

          Great &quot;policy&quot; if you want to keep the money without serving your final costumer.

          Day before yesterday (8/2/2015) I purchased a jacket for my wife from Benetton (DB CITY MALL BHOPAL). The price of the jacket was Rs.3999 but I got 50% discount so I paid Rs 2100. But on the same day my wife told me that she want the another jacket not this one. The other jacket was of Rs 5999 it means after discount it was almost Rs 3150. Same day I called them and the store manage Mr. Musa told me companies policy that they can not exchange it but if you really want to exchange then you have to pay extra Rs 1000, it means I have to pay Rs 4150 for the other jacket.
          If there is no policy of exchange then why he is asking for Rs 1000 more.
          My friend gifted me UCB shirt worth 2500 which costed 1575 after discount.
          Unfortunately, I had to exchange the size, which was not available at UCB outlet.
          I choose another article costing 3300 with discounted price of 1800 .
          While manager at UCB asked me to pay[protected] = 725 which costs me 1575 +725 =2300 for the article of 1800 .
          Manager suggested me buy the article of 1800 separate and exchange some other product with same MRP for your existing product.
          So UCB wants to increase sales in this way ...
          This is actually cheating with customers offering fraud exchange policy which actually is making innocent customers fool.
          1 out of 100 customers are completely aware about this policy which is actually companies strategy to make people fool for increasing their sales.
          It is serious concern and should be looked into immediately .else we might opt out of buying UCB products.

            During my recent visits to United Colors of Benetton at DLF Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. I went in with my fiancee to get some clothes for myself ofcourse, as it was sale weekend, it was busy and messy.             i had bought a T-Shirt from ucb shworoom where they had season sale they were not allowing any customer to go for trials on which many customer's had issues but they said its our company policy, still i bought two shirt of same size (L) but when i tried the T-shirt at home one T-shirt did not fit me and i went for the exchange for whch the store manager strightly refused to me and behaved ina very malaficious mannner his behaviour was not at all customer friendly. the T-shirt is woth of 400 Rs which is not as per my size i have only option to give it someone or throw it in dustbin as per the suggestion of Store manager

              I would like to draw your attention towards my experience and poor response to my complaint. I have been endorsing UCB clothes for years now, across all seasons and they have been an integral part of my wardrobe. I have never had any issues with UCB but this experience has not been memorable for any good reason.

              I had bought a T Shirt from United Colours of Benetton (UCB) showroom in Basant Lok, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi on 01/March/2009 (Style No: 3089J3017, Season: 09P, Size: Medium, MRP: Rs. 799/-, Invoice No: 020625 as per credit card transaction slip). Being very conscious of my attire and wardrobe, I know how to handle (Wash, Dry & Iron) my clothes and since I already have a decent collection o[censored]CB T Shirts, this one was also hand washed, dried by spreading on a chair in shade and ironed appropriately (Luke warm iron). To my utter surprise, the t shirt faded in just one wash and its colour evaporated! I took the t shirt to your Basant Lok showroom and it was accepted by your staff on 26/Apr/09 vide complaint number 075. I was assured a resolution in 2 weeks time and a call back to keep me posted.

              Since I didn’t hear from your side for 3 weeks, I approached your show room on 10/May/09 but was told that my request was still under consideration and may take more time. A week later I was informed over the phone that my claim has been rejected as I had allegedly “mishandled the t shirt and didn’t wash it as per instructions”.

              This evening I went to your Basant Lok office but the response was Luke warm; I met the store manager (Sidhanth Shreedhar) who was least interested in understanding my problem and experience, leave apart empathizing with me. I was not expecting apologies but solution to my problem. I was asked to contact UCB’s quality team in Gurgaon[protected] and get in touch with the quality person (Bharat Bhushan or Rajeev).

              I would like to know the following:

              · Do you guys have any escalation matrix in place?

              · Did you guys ever feel the need to sensitize your staff about customer handling?

              · Why should a grieved customer contact your quality team?

              · How did your quality team come to conclusion that the t shirt was manhandled?

              · How come the other UCB T Shirts I have been wearing for years didn’t fade on first wash?

              I will be more than willing to invite you guys to my place to check the penetration of sun light (if the t shirt was dried in sun light!!!). This is not the first time that I am wearing a UCB T Shirt. How come only this one lost its colour after first wash and how come the others have stood the rigour of detergents, water and years of wearing?

              Looking forward to an immediate resolution as the matter has already been delayed.

              I am a new customer for UCB here. But very unfortunately I had very bad experience on my 1st experience in UCB shop in Beijing Oriental Plaza. I really couldn't understand what their staff (even the manager) is thinking when facing customer complaints. Instead of helping, they are assaulting the client totally! Even for me, I am Chinese, from Beijing, I really really felt disappointed by their negative and not willing to help attitude. Personally I will never go back to that shop again to buy clothes, even will not choose this brand anymore. The way they are trading to customers must have a relation with the UCB main company. They might just don't care just ignoring your complaint. The good point is, there are too many other clothing brands to choose in this world. If they keep doing the same, I really think they will not having any customers anymore.
              Eventually, my complaint was resolved.. though there complaint handling procedure leaves so much to be desired.. I had to escalate it to UCB headquarters in Gurgaon and their Zonal Head had to intervene..wonder when will costumer service in our country come up the curve?

              I have worn their clothes for years, and have been an avid fan, but recently they have taken a "disposable" approach to their clothing. And very serious about that claim, you can really only wear their clothes a few times before they fall apart. I find it very funny that a 10 dollar jacket from the gap can last for years, but a 200 dollar jacket from the Benetton group can't even last a season, and God help you wear it daily.

                I ordered for the UCB watch from AVA merchandising. When i received the parcel i found that the glass on the watch was broken and since some glass pieces had fallen inside the watch was not working. I called the Customer care and they registered a complaint and they said they will send a new watch and they asked me to send the damaged watch to the courier person who comes to collect it. Since they said they will replace the product i purchased two more watches. It has been about 8 days and still the courier person has not come to pick it up. The other two watches that i ordered have been delivered in a good working condition. I called the AVA customer care today and the customer care executive said i dont have to send the watch that has got damaged and they said still the complaint is in process and they will deliver the product asap. I am keeping my fingers crossed hoping that the watch will be delivered. Will have to wait and see.

                    I have produced the full transcript of the mail exchanges with India Today Bookclub group over the past month or so. I hope this should explain the full background and help me get some justice.

                    I had responded to the email from India Today Bookclub for the offer of Swatch watch alongwith a free gift of Benetton watch for a total amount of Rs. 3, 199/- against phone voucher number F73883 against my name.

                    My ICICI credit card # [protected] has been charged Rs. 3, 199 on Jan 3rd, 2009 vide ICICI ref # 74477489004007400978891 by India Today Book Club (Living Media) towards the above offer of gift of Swatch + Benetton watch against phone voucher # F73883.

                    Subsequently I heard nothing at all - no communciation whatsoever - from India Today Bookclub. I didn't receive any reference #, order # or even an acknowledgement of the credit card transaction / receipt of payment or any other details. Then, I called up the Customer care phone # on Jan 29th, 2009 and spoke to their executives who had no clue about the transaction and no further action was forthcoming as well. I sent a mail to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com explaining the circumstances and giving all the necessary details that I had with me.

                    On Feb 4th, I received an email from Mr. Zishan Ahmed (of ITBC) asking for a copy of my ICICI credit card statement to verif their records/details. I had explained very clearly to their executives during my telecon (on Jan 29th) that sharing my credit card statement is not possible as it is my personal and confidential document and in my mail, I very clearly provided them all the transaction details - the date beneficiary and reference number of the said ICICI card transaction which clearly showed that an amount of Rs. 3.199.00 was credited to their account on Jan 3rd itself - they wouldn't got any more extra information, pertaining to this transaction, from my credit card statement. I explained this to Mr. Zishan as well on Feb 7th, in reply to his nmail of 4th Feb to me.

                    After that date, I have not heard anything from ITBC till date, inspite of sending four more reminder emails from Feb 13th till yesterday. Am at a loss to understand the objectives of such a reputed organisation and am forced to doubt the intentions, integrity and commitment to its customers. A very sorry state of affairs indeed.

                    I hope I'll get some concrete reply / action plan to mitigate / solve this issue. Further, am repeatedly getting such mails of fresh offers and irritating calls to accept these offer, and most irritating aspect is to call me as one of their most privileged customer - how privilege I am to undergo this torture, I only would know about the same. To add more fuel to the existing fire, I see some offer for the very same combination of items at Rs. 1, 950 ( as against Rs. 3, 100 paid by me). I am really unable to undertsand how price can vary so much in a matter of few days.

                    Hope to receive your earliest and most positive response ASAP.

                    It can no way happen that the payment has not been received into your account. If there is a problem in your system, it is your responsibility to rectify the same without

                    - depending on your customers to provide you proofs of payment (even after all details are provided)
                    - adopting delaying tactics

                    and arrange to fulfill the order immediately or return the money without any further delay by doing the needful at your end.

                    I had responded to the email from India Today Bookclub for the offer of Swatch watch alongwith a free gift of Benetton watch for a total amount of Rs. 3, 199/- against phone voucher number F73883 against my name.

                    My ICICI credit card # [protected] has been charged Rs. 3, 199 on Jan 3rd, 2009 vide ICICI ref # 74477489004007400978891 by India Today Book Club (Living Media) towards the above offer of gift of Swatch + Benetton watch against phone voucher # F73883.

                    Subsequently I heard nothing at all - no communciation whatsoever - from India Today Bookclub. I didn't receive any reference #, order # or even an acknowledgement of the credit card transaction / receipt of payment or any other details. Then, I called up the Customer care phone # on Jan 29th, 2009 and spoke to their executives who had no clue about the transaction and no further action was forthcoming as well. I sent a mail to [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com explaining the circumstances and giving all the necessary details that I had with me.

                    On Feb 4th, I received an email from Mr. Zishan Ahmed (of ITBC) asking for a copy of my ICICI credit card statement to verif their records/details. I had explained very clearly to their executives during my telecon (on Jan 29th) that sharing my credit card statement is not possible as it is my personal and confidential document and in my mail, I very clearly provided them all the transaction details - the date beneficiary and reference number of the said ICICI card transaction which clearly showed that an amount of Rs. 3.199.00 was credited to their account on Jan 3rd itself - they wouldn't got any more extra information, pertaining to this transaction, from my credit card statement. I explained this to Mr. Zishan as well on Feb 7th, in reply to his nmail of 4th Feb to me.

                    After that date, I have not heard anything from ITBC till date, inspite of sending four more reminder emails from Feb 13th till yesterday. Am at a loss to understand the objectives of such a reputed organisation and am forced to doubt the intentions, integrity and commitment to its customers. A very sorry state of affairs indeed.

                    I hope I'll get some concrete reply / action plan to mitigate / solve this issue. Further, am repeatedly getting such mails of fresh offers and irritating calls to accept these offer, and most irritating aspect is to call me as one of their most privileged customer - how privilege I am to undergo this torture, I only would know about the same. To add more fuel to the existing fire, I see some offer for the very same combination of items at Rs. 1, 950 ( as against Rs. 3, 100 paid by me). I am really unable to undertsand how price can vary so much in a matter of few days.

                    It can no way happen that the payment has not been received into your account. If there is a problem in your system, it is your responsibility to rectify the same without

                    - depending on your customers to provide you proofs of payment (even after all details are provided)
                    - adopting delaying tactics

                    and arrange to fulfill the order immediately or return the money without any further delay by doing the needful at your end.

                    You are absolutely right. These big companies are nothing but big time thugs. I had also ordered for a swatch. I found that my account had been debited for an amount higher than what they had mentioned. After several enquiries, I was told that I had ordered some Agatha Christie CD's for which I have been charged and will be charged in the future as well. I immediately told them to cancel my order and refund me the amount.

                    I corresponded with the company about refund of the amount, but every time a new person answered and I had to give him all the details right from scratch. On two occasions I sent them the scanned copy of my Credit Card statement (which is very risky, esp. with companies like these). One fine day they tell me that the watch has already been despatched! When I told them I had requested for cancellation of the order, they told me to refuse to accept the parcel (of swatch) when it was delivered to me. And then the amount would be refunded to me.

                    After all that had happened, I knew there was no way I would get my money back. So when the watch came, I unwillingly accepted it, despite them having cheated my by charging more. As they say in Hindi... "Bhagte bhoot ki langoti bhali". I thought if I refused the watch, I would lose the watch as well as my money. And seeing your experience, I think that is exactly what would have happened.

                    Besides, the above tactics, these companies also make profits my mentioning in small letters "Handling charges of Rs... extra".

                    It is high time someone takes these cheats to the consumer's forum. It is surprising how such a well-known and (until now) respected group can stoop so low.

I was about to click on an offer when I thought I will check the real price of the products if it's available somewhere in the Internet. That brought me to this link and I am glad I came to the right place. Would like to know if you ever get to see those products?
                    That's very sad you have not received your order till date. However the market price of their product is much more cheaper than what they claim in their offers. Also their products what they sent are not in good condition.

                    india today seems to be a big fraud.
                    I purchased one beneton watch of 2598 Rs. form indiatoday bvook club & I got one free holiday voucher of 5000 Rs. & air ticket of 7000 Rs. But the weblink which they provide does not work & can not activete my free holiday voucher number. I rang to customer care at least 15 times form last 2 months. holiday voucher activation timwe is 60days. and they are wasting times in making the customer fool. really a big fraud.

                    can somebody tell me where I can lodge a complaint aginst indiatodaybookclub & can take a stirct legal action aginst them

                    I am still waiting for my problem to be solved.

                    Again I today called the customer care at [protected], & they told me the holiday voucher no. is wrong & they told me that I will receive correct no. within 24 hours.

                    Every time when I called customer care, I get confusing & conflicting answers.                     So I am begging them, please provide me the correct & valid holiday voucher number.

                    India Today Book Club — Delayed Delivery of Swatch Watch Order

                    Hi all,

                    I had been getting incessant mails from this company called India today Book Club enticing me with offers to buy a Reebok Fitness kit for Rs.1999 ( which is actually 3999) and then good-looking SWATCH watches for 1599 worth 4000 etc. I finally decided they must be legitimate and decided to pursue this one offer about a watch, I placed my order online, which did not fall through because of thier stupid website.

                    MInd you, this was the second time this was happening when I could not complete my online transaction on thier website. They would always call me back on the telephone and ask me to complete my order by phone where in I enter my Credit card details on an IVR and fulfill the order. First time I refused. But with the swatch watch, I finally managed to finish the order, ie place the order. Card got billed for Rs.1599.

                    This was on July 4th. Today is September 8th. More than 60 days have passed. I havent heard back from them. Not a single word. In the middle I tried calling them in frustration 4 times, everytime I get placed on hold without any customer care executive to take care of my call or tell me the status of my order.

                    Sometime last month, I finally did manage to get hold of a customer care executive. I asked him the status to which he replied, the watch I ordered was out of stock and hence the order could not be fulfilled.

                    Now what kind of stupid company is this which advertises products which are out of stock, even takes an order from a customer for the same and now does not keep up its promise to fulfill the damn order in max. of 25 days.

                    Kindly let me know what kind of action can be taken against such abonimably stupid people. I want to take them to consumer court and sue them for having wrongfully used my credit card and billed me for the same. and having delayed the damn order by more than 2 months, Any pointers would be great.
                    Has anyone else faced this dilemma with this crappy company ???
                    I would urge each one of you NEVER to trust this India Today Book CLub people who are criminals hell bent on swindling honest people.

                    my subscription number for buying audio /cds is ITBC09947549. free gifts of reebok t-shirt and adidas bag has not been delivered. though you claim to have despatched with order No.0FA[protected], the gifts were not delivered.may be the blue dart couriers engaged for the work play a lot in delivering gifts.when they could deliver the cds to office though the address was residence the gift is not being delivered to office.
                    though the products marketed by ITBC are attractive the non prompt service in delivering gifts make us not to buy from ITBC.also, there is poor responce to phone calls. if this attitude is continued i feel it is fit case to fight in consumer court.

                    India Today Book Club — India Today free Gifts promised and Never fulfilled

                    Dear Friends,

                    My Name is Dinesh , I am writing this after calling India today for more than 15 times this year for my free gift from them.I am living in Bangalore,I was interested in 20 Pack Devotional CD Pack with the free gift of Reebok shoe.

                    I have got the CD Pack within a week time and the reebok shoe still a mystery for me.

                    2. Jithane - 17th June (1st week of augest Request no. 159023) Same resonse within 10 days i will get the shoe.

                    3.Sumith - 17th june by 12.11 Pm ( Same Response)

                    4. Adhil - 23-July-09, by 2.40 Pm ( Same Response)
                    5. Abjith - 10th Aug - 10.50AM (Within 10 Days)
                    6. Sathia - 24 Aug - 11.50AM Cal transfered to Ravi for confirmation on delivery
                    7. Ravi - Sr.Executive - Booking no given by Ravi : 0FA[protected]
                    8. Saritha-31 Aug - 11.40AM. Saritha said..technical problem in sending the parcel for physical dispatch.
                    9. Azeem Khan - Said within 7 Days shoe will be delivered.

                    Believing Azeem for the last and final time, i waited till date. But nothing happened. Finally realized that I was been fooled by India today book club for these many days.

                    Now let me take it in serious way, Though my uncle is a criminal layer here in Bangalore, he advised me to file a case on India today for their wrong commitment i just wanted to give them once more last chance.

                    I opted for the product only because of the Shoe, i was desperate that time.

                    Friends, be sure about the commitment before you go for the purchase with India Today Book Club.

                    I had also ordered a CD pack and paid Rs. 574/- as CASH ON DELIVERY, I was promised Adidas Bag and Holiday Voucher worth Rs.5000/- . till date I have not recieved any free gift from them. Also Holiday voucher asks for Rs.800/- DD as some charges. Is it safe to send this Rs.800/- the address shows some Premier Promotion Company, having P O Box and address at Bangalore.

                    I would appreciate if some body can throw more light on this issue of Holiday voucher.

                    Even i have ordered for a Beneton watch for 499 but cash on delivery.
                    i have no idea wether its going to be a real watch or fake..

                    Benetton Watch — replacment of defected beneton watch with in one month of purchase

                    I had purchased a beneton watch and within one month it start troubleing i made a complaint to replace they agreed i sent through speed post but till date its moretan 5 months u didn,t received my watch back nor money.

                    United Colors Of Benetton / Sweatshirt — received one extra piece of different size in spite of ordering for only one

                    when i was ordering for the sweat shirt (united colors of benetton) then at that time when i clicked for XXL size then NOT AVAILABLE message was displayed..so i again clicked on XL size..but at the time of delivery i received both the sizes of sweat shirt...so now i want to return one extra piece..kindly look into the matter and intimate me the same on my email id or phone number...the sweat shirt i want to return has its description of goods as [protected]...

                      While giving my track pants for alteration they were stained by the staff at the south ex delhi branch, they said they would remove stain but instead they gave me a large size(mine was small) and changed the tag to small.( i found out as i compared it to my sisters identical small size track pant). so now my whole suit is a waste and to top it all it slipped down and embarrassed me infront of my friends!!!

                        i bought a yellow benetton tshirt with a ribbed border on the neck 2 weeks ago and after just 2 washings, the neck has become all loose and crumply.Another previous purchase of mine with a similiar neckline underwent the same fate.
                        What do I do about the same.The website offers no place for customer complaints, a shame for the size of the brand benetton is!
                        Please go to the store and unke mooh pe maar ke aao, say that these are defective, they have to take them back beleive me, and if they don't mail me to know the furthur procedure, as they have a very strict policy of taking the goods back with defects provided you are not at any fault, you having the bill or tag dosen't matter, just go leave the pcs to them, don't forget to take phone number of the store
                        I am facing the same problem with one of the jeans i purchased from UCB. Its almost gone and i have thrown that jeans over the face of shopkeeper where i purchased that jeans from. Please let me know where can i put my complaints on?
