Incorrect refund amount processed,
-40% deducted as No-show incorrectly;
-wrong guidance by Air India customer care(call recordings can be scrutinized) - genuine case -
-as a customer, I have full rights to receive mine & my son's 100% ticket refund, following up since 5months. ticket#- [protected]/70 (PNR - Y743R)Hyd- Chicago(USA) flight for 5May2021
Background - Due to US India travel ban in pandemic, My son and myself could not board our flight dated 5thMay 2021, (PNR-Y743R);ticket#- [protected]/70; as we had US tourist visa. When I contacted the customer care helpline prior to my flight date multiple times, I was informed that my flight is already showing as cancelled and they did not recommend cancelling my ticket since the flight is already cancelled, however again received a mixed guidance. However, to be on safe side, I raised a refund with the Air India team on 6thMay2021, which they registered but they processed only 60% amount as refund (after 4 months) and have withheld 56, 700/INR incorrectly with Air India depicted as 'No-show' - they deducted 40% of the amount, this is a huge amount for me and I am in need of it. Please intervene to support in any way possible. It has been almost 5 months through this challenging process.
I have approached all forums here but in vain. I have call recordings of Air India customer care who mentioned that my flight is cancelled yet they processed it as I have a 'No-show'
1) I have written emails to Air India ecommerce ID - no proper support, no revert
2) I have raised multiple ticket IDs with Air India customer care (Case ID#[protected]Aug; Case ID#[protected]Jul;)
2) I have raised ticket on Consumer grievance portal - after which I received incorrect amount 60% refund - withheld almost 57000/-INR (CPGRAMS grievance complaint# MOCAV/E/2021/05871)
3) I have visited Air India office - they asked to raise a feedback form to legal team
4) I have raised the feedback form (Ref No. WB-IHYD[protected], their response seems to be only suggesting the incorrect refund amount.
Air India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
