I booked the ticket from Bhopal to Jaipur for 17/12/2021 8:05am with travel time of 5h10m on 2:41 PM Sydney(Australia) time on 27/10/2021. I did not recieved the confirmation of ticket over my email address on the date of booking, so I waited till next day for mail, when I havn't received the mail, I went to air india website and retrived the ticket from manager booking section. The ticket generated is for a wrong date and wrong time, it genertaed for 18/12/2021 21:50pm with travel time of 15h30m and reaching Jaipur on 19/12/2021. I never booked this ticket. When I tried to cancel the ticket within 24 hours to get full payment back it was charging cancellation fees of INR 21, 720 and just refunding back INR 4, 260 (See the image below). I read the cancellation policy and it saysno cancellation fee within 24 hours and then INR3000 +5%GST will be deducted, so even on cancellation around INR 12500 should be the cancellation fees for 4 passengers (I have no idea where INR 21, 720 is being calculated as cancellation amount).
I have called customer service center under 24 hours to cancel the flight and have been on hold for past 18 hours (nobody is helping me here and the call has dropped 6 times). I am not liable to pay a single penny for cancellation of the ticket or date change as on the first place I have not booked this ticket with the date and time mentioned on the ticket. Either change the date to 17Dec 8:05 AM from Bhopal to Jaipur (reaching jaipur on same day with travel time 5h10m) without any change within next 1 week or kindly cancel the flight with full refund.
Air India customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
