    My family has Airtel mobile connections for most of the mobile phones. My wife has 2 numbers, one of them is used only to make calls and SMS. so the appropriate plan is activated on the same. But recently we realized that the bill is inflated and checked with Airtel just to know that 2G data services is using the data on phone. When checked, Airtel said it is enabled in default, at a rate 30p per 20kB downloads.
    This information is not mentioned anywhere on the application form. I have a copy of a new post paid connection form though Airtel is reluctant to provide me my application form copy.
    My complaints are,
    1. If the Application form does not have the information on the services enabled on the connection, and also if I have not agreed to pay for any services that is of no use to me, how can Airtel force me to pay. Already i have paid to the tune of 4000/- on these inflated bills.
    2. How can airtel randomly charge its users, Rs.2200/- for a download of just 157MB, when there are plans like 2GB for Rs.98/- available with them.
    3. If I really needed data plan on my number, I would be opting for a plan that will work out ot my usage, then how can Airtel claim that I have agreed to pay a larger amount for a small data as mentioned above?
    4. The customer care is of no use, as they provide less/irrelevant or NO information regarding the data usage, but just ask us to pay for no reason.

    Do the customer have no rights what so ever on their services, to know the details of the services for which they are paying?
    Is this how Airtel and probably other service providers cheat and make profit out of poor people on pre paid and post paid services?
    How can a service provider charge a user, if he has not enabled for some of their services?

    Do thake this complaint and let me know how to reach a conclusion with the service provider.

      This is with ref to the 3G dongle connection taken on 22-08-12 from 'Critical Paradigm Gestalt BPO Pvt LTD', they operate from IBM Manyata tech park's food court, Phone # that i was assigned to me for the connection is[protected]
      Agency reps name at manyata Nirmal [protected], Ahmed -[protected]

      I paid Rs 1,299/- for the 3G Dongle and the new connection attached is the Payment receipt

      Documents submitted at the time of taking connection
      Photo Address proof - Self attested Xerox copy of License
      Photograph - Self attested passport photo
      Company id - Self attested photo copy of IBM India ID badge

      Now starts the tale of their miserable service
      Issue:
      1) The connection was not activated for at least 3 days from the payment date
      reason quoted -- Server down - Oh Come on, for gods sake, no server can be out for 3 days when it comes to on boarding the new customers.. if it was down that long, i pity the other customers who are with Airtel. Well the duration for the suspended period was also added to the first bill..Hats off to airtel
      Well this was just the beginning..there was more to come

      2) The connection was suspended within 1 week of it getting activated.
      Reason quoted - Address verification failed, someone gave my office address as D5 Manyata tech park instead of my residence address.
      Well why would you update the office address when the address proof given to you was of my residence...someone out there has lots of grey matter on top.
      it got resorted only after i asked for an address change and then the verification person came home

      It does not stop here...

      3) The connection is barred a week later
      Reason quoted - documentation's not submitted, and no notification was sent to me about the connection being barred.
      What the hell!!! i literally fell off my chair on hearing this. It a Joke.
      The Cust care rep could not take a complaint as the number is barred. Well thats an easy way out for them..no record of enquiry being made..blame it on the system/procedure. Who maintains this pathetic proces? I was asked to visit any airtel store and resubmit the documents.
      How on earth would you give me a corporate connection without taking my address an id proof

      Well, I went to the Airtel store at CMH road, close to the BDA complex. and their they refused to take the document as it was a corp instruction that the address and identity proof doc should be submitted to the agency that provides the sim.
      Hello customer service..you might want to talk to your corp and get your process documents reviewed,,its outdated.

      I submitted the documents to the guys at 'Critical Paradigm Gestalt BPO Pvt LTD' and the service was activated, there was a downtime of about 3-4 days.

      4) The connection is barred again on Sept 24th.
      Reason quoted - documentation's not submitted,
      Well hello!!! i just did that a week back, well i busy with office work and decided to use my Tikona connection for some time before i try to resolve it...lost the interest with airtel...but I has Rs 1300 bucks stuck with airtel.
      I called them up today - sept 27 and they tell me its terminated for lack of some document..i could nto get it..it was something like STG, SAG..who cares.

      I am now asked to resubmit the documents and take a new connection as they cannot reactivate the services.

      Well finally it stopped with the connection being terminated by Airtel.

      For all thos who are looking to get an Airtel 3G dongle connection...be cautious and go to some agency where they do right and is close to your residence incase you face an issue like me

      Now if someone can help, please do advise if there is any ways i can use the Airtel Dongle for a 3G connection from another service provider..dont want to have a wasted investment on the dongle

      After all this trauma..should i pay the bill which would be generated for me?

        i have been using airtel since many years..I did not leave airtel even i was on roaming for 4 years..my complaint is that i am constantly getting calls from telemarketer of Bharti Axa life insurance company regarding life insurnace plans though my number [protected] has been registered in DND service (registration number S[protected]) since 2007. i have complaint to airtel by sending COMP sms to 1909 every time i get promotional call, but it didnot not stop..whenever i filed complaint to 1909 i get a formal automatic message without any unique complaint number..i reruested airtel to provide me the complaint number but they have not provided yet.i Even complaint to appellate officer at appellate.[protected]@in.airtel.com....many times but did not get any reply yet..the following are the details of the mails exchanged between us..Now i request you to take my complaint further and do the needful...

        i request you to go through my complaint again and try to understand my concern. i have filed many complaints regarding this in last one year but i am facing the same problem again and again..i have received many promotional calls in the month of September only for which i have filed the complaints giving all the required details.on top of that i have not received the UCC number...i have forwarded all the all the 4 reminders for the same complaints to the applattte authority punjab as well as trai...but to my surprise..you have replied my complaint in a very casual sense..

        i request you to kindly understand my complaints properly and send me the UCC numbers for my all the complaints...and let me know the action taken against the mentioned telemarketer company mentioned in my complaints..

        this is my 4th reminder for the request for unique complaint number for my DND

        on 17/09/2012. i have not got the unique customer complaint number for any of
        the complaint i filed till now..to follow it up i send the first reminder on
        15/09/2012 and 2nd reminder for the same complaint on 17/09/2012..The 3rd
        reminder was sent on Tue, 18 Sep '12 5:41pm i got auto reply saying that you
        will revert in 24 hours which did not happened too..


        I would like to inform you that my complaint has not been resolved till
        now....I would like to draw your kind attention again towards my complaint..

        on calling your customer care at [protected] on 18/09/2012 , i was informed that
        none on my complaint have not been registered on your system

        1. My complaint and request is to give me UNSOLICITED CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION
        for my two complaints filed on 10/09/2012 and 17/09/2012 respectively

        the details of the complaints are

        - on 10/09/2012 at 3:25 pm sent from my mobile [protected] to 1909 {COMP TEL
        NO [protected];10/09/12;15:00PM; Bharti Axa life Insurance regarding Insurance
        plans}

        - on 17/09/2012 at 2:35 pm sent from my mobile [protected] to 1909 {COMP
        TEL NO [protected];17/09/10;35:00PM;; Bharti Axa life Insurance regarding
        Insurance plans}


        I got the message from 121 on[protected] at 3:35pm and on n17/09/2012 at
        2:35PM stating that.."Your DND related SMS has been received. We will be
        processing the sms within 24 hours and send you a service request number for it
        accordingly" and

        But unfortunately i have not received any service request number.or UCC
        registration number.till now..


        In the past also i had filed similar complaints
        1. CDRGP [protected] - registered on 10/07/2012 ( i received the reply on my
        mobile stating that a warning letter has been sent to UNREGISTERED TELEMARKETER)
        2. CDRGP[protected] registered on 11/07/2012
        3. CDRGP[protected] registered on 10/07/2012
        4. CDRGP[protected] registered on 09/07/2012..


        I humbly request you to kindly go through my complaint point wise point

        i also request you to kindly send me the service request number at
        the earliest along with the action taken against company, but i have already
        filed more than 5 complaints again the UCC company before and every time i get
        message saying that you have warned the company..

        I request you to kindly send me the UCC registration number for both my
        complaints and the action taken against the companies...

        airtel post-paid number — receving promotonal messages after registring my number under do not disturb

        i have registered my airtel post-paid number [protected] under do not disturb on 22/1/2009. its been more that 45 days but still i m receiving promotional messages and calls. I have loged a complaint in airtel but they are not helping me. so pl help me regargding this.
        i m waiting for the result...this is wht we call indian consumer complaints where i havnt recvd any solution after registring my coplaint. good work done

        1.Today at 2.28 pm when I was attending a meeting I got a call to my post paid no [protected] from a no +[protected] I couldn't answer I got call another call from +[protected] at 2.36pm same I couldn't answer
        2. My nice who stays in Dubai I thought some body is trying to call me some urgency
        3. A soon as I finished meeting I usually call any std r isd from my prepaid no [protected] I called above mention no+[protected]
        4.Suddenly I realized this is something unwanted call I disconnected within 8 sec u know they deducted Rs.60 from balance
        5.Also another no which I saved long back +[protected]

        Anybody can answer my question
        1. I called up airtel telling about this issue & last no I mentioned +[protected] suddenly he shouted telling about this no of some pakistan & airtel have received lot of complaints about this no
        2. So airtel knows from where his(airtel) customer r being looted after we have given details
        3.If we call up from airtel to nos which I have mentioned who is benefited ?
        4.as we all know incoming is free & outgoing is charged
        5.As I suspect airtel has hired to call his customer not frequently once in a while to earn some money
        6. R else I don't think after this kind of mails so big company bharti airtel which will have guideline from trai r what ever govt thing have power to sue this nos providers r take any kind of legal action

        I[censored] r not protected by u r service provider whom should we ask the country from where we get this kind of calls pl spare us for god sake

        Hi Team,

        I am trying to register complains related DND but the "submit" button on airtel site does not work. Instead it gives me text editor " Where I wrote "text box" in place of submit button, I wanted to raise complain about getting lot of promotional calls and SMS even when I am registered to DND which is of type fully blocked. Can someone please look into it.

          On a series of complaints, this is a notable reference number of my complaint (sent as mail sub): DATACARD PROBLEM [|BAL|Qrc118091212091411025777|]

          I am from Chennai. I have been with Airtel for the last almost 10 years. In the last one year, I have faced problems in all their divisions, and now it is their DataCard Division.

          Purchased two (2) Airtel Data Cards couple of months back. Nos. Numbers are [protected] (3G Connectivity for Rs. 1500 pack) and [protected] (3G Connectivity for 950 Pack) and paid Rs.1600+ for each instrument apart from the charges. I have been honouring my commitments of paying charges to them on a monthly basis and there's no default.

          From the inception, the speed has been the problem and it was erratic with continuous fluctuation of drop in speed. On a second, it will work at 0.90 Mbps and in the next second it will be 0.06 Mbps. So there has been almost no connectivity most of the time. On Sept 7th, I gave a strong complaint for which an engineer was sent. He found that problem lies with the Towers of Airel and with the distance. He promised to solve this issue by having a booster within 48 hours through the back-end team. No commitments on time given on the solution until now.

          I have been contacting 121, Nodal, Appellate and the salesman who sold data cards to me. Only the salesperson who sold this to me is speaking to me boldly and trying to solve the issues. However, nothing is happening so far. Sent a note to all escalation levels, nothing happened so far. Only option left is AIRTEL CHAIRMAN'S OFFICE for him to know how the services are being handled.

          It is a shame on my part trusting such a big company like Airtel could not solve networking connectivity problems. I am tired of expecting the service and support people asking for help.

          One last request...PLEASE HELP. I am sure that Airtel can solve this issue, but some people are not coming forward to help.

          Airtel Connectivity — Communication due to connectivity

          We have place the complaint with Airtel India for connectivity at our office & at Bommasandra on the way to Hosur near Bangalore for problems of connectivity. The tower marking is full on Nokia mobile N73 but cannot do call OR receive call. Still there is no reply from the company.

          The Complaint Details are as under:-

          Airtel Connectivity — Airtel Connection is not working in some places of my city.

          Dear sir,

          This is to bring to your notice that the Airtel connection is not working in some places of my city. I live in Pune and my residing area is Bhelchowk -Nigdi, Pin : 411044. Whenever I'm in that area especially during the night time no calls are getting connected. While making a call I get an error message as : "Unable To Connect" whereas when any one calls to my number they listed to the recorded-voice as " User is not Reachable"..

          I'm facing this problem for the last 2 weeks . I reside outside my home town and need to make and receive frequent STD calls. Its very frustrating for me to bear this type of worst service. Please take necessary actions to solve this problem...Eagerly awaiting favorable action.

          This has reference to the captioned subject...Further to this we would like to bring to your notice that we are subscribers to the above connection since last 14 years. Desoite regular complaints, there is no help from your side.

            I wish to share my disappointment, agony and frustration with respect to the above subject and the corresponding details in my attached mail below.

            Post what I went through my harassment did not end when I received a threatening call from Advocate Meera Marwah (mobile no. [protected]) on 11th Sept 2012, forcing me to attend a court hearing towards this non payment. I was informed about 2 notices already sent to me and on my non response a compulsory physical presence in a Delhi court the next day on 12th Sept. I was offered a last chance to pay an amount of Rs 1450/- immediately or face a legal action through a civil case file against me. I was travelling to Mumbai and was attending an important conference. Being a law abiding citizen, having no time to respond to this and fearing the threat of the above mentioned advocate I made a payment of Rs 1450/- at 10:20 AM vide Airtel receipt no.[protected] dtd 12th Sept.

            While I made this payment I am carrying a heavy guilt of having met this kind of treatment by Airtel while I have had several relationships with Airtel as a customer and still have few mobile connections through Airtel.

            I am writing this to you with a last hope of getting your response to the whole incident.

            It is very unfortunate that you are sending a reminder mail for a payment to a customer who has always paid your bill in time without checking the reasons internally for the same.

            Background :

            I requested for shifting my landline connection 40923081 from the existing address at Sarjapur Road in mid Nov of 2011. Inspite of numerous follow ups Airtel Blore was unable to shift my connection to the new address at Whitefield untill January 2012 for reasons unknown to me. Having a high necessity for a phone connection I opted to go with an alternate service provider in mid of feb. This has caused me great discomfort and loss where I had to live for 3 months without a landline.

            For reasons unknown to me while they could not shift the connection they kept the existing connection live which accrued the minimum bill month on month. I have received several phone call asking for the payment which is increased month on month.

            Why I am not liable to pay this outsatnding amount are :

            1. I have cleared my bills for usage till Nov 19
            2. After Nov 19 there is no useage on this no. as I had shifted out of that address after Nov 19
            3. Several email communication from your nodal officer accepting the delay for shifting this number
            4. More than 10 service request holding my patience to stay with Airtel for almost 3 months

            I was very serious of taking this case to consumer court for facing great inconvenience where I had to live without a phone connection for 3 months. I decided against it as I recd a new connection from a new service provider and acted purely like a non reactive Indian Customer.

            According to me I must receive my security deposit refund immediately which I haven's till now.

            I donot wish to receive such reminder after this mail. This can only lead to a litigation which I am extremely capable of taking up in a lawful manner.

            Though I am hopeful you would understand the issue using your wisdom and close the matter.

              I had requested airtel to disconnect the broadband connection in may 2012 after which i got a mail saying somebody would contact me in 7 days to progress the matter further but i didnt get any call from them. so i sent another email. to which they replied saying they couldnt contact me on my mobile number. since i was out of the country i gave them my singapore number where i am staying currently but they didnt respond to that and yesterday i got a legal notice from them telling me that i had to pay them close to 6000 rs. the connections is not even working and they are charging for something that is not working and we dont even want. can i get some help on this?

                  i have received a miscall from country code +9230. I called back but the telephone operator spoke in some urdu type language. When i searched on internet i got to know that the call was from Pakistan and a lot of people are getting such calls. I am worried this is some scam against our Country and people.                     I Vinay Kumar having contact no. [protected], have renewed my 2 year advanced rental postpaid connection wef 03.09.2012 after get calling from Airtel customer care. but, I get a sms on 26.09.12 that "Discount 200 minutes (Local M2M) has been stopped on your airtel mobile". Later, I told same to customer care but he was unable to reply my query and ask me that his senior will contact me within 2 hours, which is yet to contacted. Hereby, I want to clarification that why doesn’t airtel confirmed me at the renewal time that existing plan would be altered/temperd and why airtel informed me after 23days via sms only?

Earlier also I complaint about this and the Airtel customercare or representatives are not taking any action. Please refund this amount at the earliest. Without permission Airtel is deducting such charges from my balance. Please stop such services immediately.

                            I feel there lies a large mismatch between what Airtel promises and what it delivers, As discussed with the customer care department my Airtel DTH services validity should not have been reduced by 45 days through which I am incurring a loss of approx. Rs. 500/-. Is this the way Airtel wants to serve and retain a 4 year long customer relationship??????

                            If customer ‘s value of money and accurate delivery is not their motto please let me know.

                              I have done a potability from Vodafone to Airtel last week. My number is [protected].

                              First of all, I was informed that my portability will be done on the 8th day. I was not informed by Airtel that all my balance on Vodafone will go. I have lost nearly 234 INR.

                              Then, they have a pathetic network in Bhandup.

                              I have done the portability so that I have no roaming in the state of Gujarat. I was not informed that to activate this, I will need to send out a SMS. Furthermore, they even have a pathetic network in Naranpura area in Ahmedabad (near Sanghvi High School).

                              You call the customer care and they keep you on waiting for long, and instead of resolving your issue / concern, they tell me that I can do another portability only after 90 days!

                              To other subscribers, i would only say, though Vodafone is expensive, it still provides a better service. i'm repenting from hour one, porting on airtel.

                              To add, as I was said that my portabiloity will happen on the 8th day, it happened on the fourth day, and all my balance was gone. I have network issues in Ahmedabad and also faced the same in Bhandup (Dreams HDIL Complex).
                              No response from Airtel!

                                I paid Rs.2506/-thro'internet for south value sports pakge. +45 days free on 12-07-12 towards
                                annual subscription.I decided to disconnect on 20-08-12 &mailed to [protected]@in.airtel.com customer care to refund the balance amount but they replied me the a/c balance is only Rs.53/ &odd but 1 year
                                i can see the selected pakge.This means in case of disconnection by the user in between either i 've to forego the entire amount or i should see the pakge & make use of the same which terms &conditions is neither available in the website nor in the customer relationship form.had such conditions been there in website i would n't 've opted to gofor annual subscription.This is totally unfair trade practice.The norms in this industry is to reckon based on burn-up rate otherwise called daily usage rate.The terms & conditions in the customer relation ship form also says like that.Further
                                the terms &conditions in the relationship form is totally in favour of the company & the company's money is taken care of but customer's money &right are ditched.
                                2)Arbitary change of package; In the mean time 3/4 airtel reps contacted me & i had to "repeat my tales " to each &every one. If a single person handles the issue it is easier for them & for the customer too to get the problem fixed&solved.But here it is running around the periphery but no intention to solve the problem.So i told them in case my problem is not solved i will be compelled to take the issue to the consumer court even if it takes 2/3 years to get the verdict.Then they "devised a trick"& sent a SMS to me informing the change of package (to suit their terms)as per my request which in reality i didn't ask for.I never made any request either by SMS/by mail for a change of package.The changed package is south standard which bars me from viewing all 4 English news channels Timesnow,NDTV24x7,CNN IBN,&headlines to-day.This means that i will be denied viewing these English news channels for 1 full year as i paid for annual subscription.
                                Hence i request this forum to take up this case with Airtel/digital TV to restore immediately to my selected south value sports plus pkge & secondly the a/c balance to be done on daily usage

                                  Airtel prepaid users receives many sms from airtel related to "Hot bikini babes", "Hot college girls" and so. These services are rediculous. when i call customer service, they were asking me to send a request to opt out these kind of messages reaching my number. But dont they think that it is not ethical to provide these unnecessary services to customers and spoil the young children who cannot decide to choose between good and bad. And i dont understand what morals these service providers has learnt in school and home. Why they are intended to spoil the society?
                                  I am from Delhi. I am a vodafone user as well as using airtel connection. I had activated 249 plan on my airtel connection as per described according to my requirements. They told me that I would get some free calls as well as the call rates are also cheaper. But don't know was that just to attract customers or what??? I just filed my complaint to the but is not any hearing there So I just moved for http://consumercourt.net/forum.php where I again filed my complaint about the very much charged bill amount. Hope to get some help from them ASAP.

                                    Non installation of DTH services by Airtel even after having received the payment 52 days ago.

                                    On advice of the customer care of Airtel, I had purchased a multi Connection of Airtel DTH services, on August 14, 2012. My consumer number is [protected]. Order No:- 2485247,Transaction description :- IPAY/ESHP/BD/17308310/MIDB[protected]_SHE.
                                    I made an online payment of Rs 2380/ via Idbi Net banking as advised by the Airtel Customer Care executive in a mail written to me on August 13, 2012. I was told that the connection would be installed in the next 72 hours, however it is almost 2 months since the payment was made and no action at all has been initiated by Airtel. Despite regular follow ups and constant conversations with customer care executives every day no action has been taken. The attitude of the executives has been frivolous and none of the executives that I have interacted with have been able to resole the problem. I have been assured byall executives that I have spoken to Sheetal[protected],Gajendra[protected],Complaint No.23215556 that my problem would be resolved but this has not happened.

                                    I am really ashamed to say that a company owned by the prestigious Laxmi Mittal is so unprofessional in it approach. Not only this is unprofessional behavior but also is a case of harassment of the customer and violation of customer rights. I have been cheated of my right to quality and prompt services and would like to emphasize that such ignorance by Airtel should not be tolerated and Airtel should be punished by for not delivering as against promised.

                                    I would like to insist that Airtel be penalized for non delivery of services and a lesson needs to be taught for their serious negligence on their part.I would like the problem to be resolved at the earliest.

                                        Received one sms today saying some cricket service will be renewed in 2 days and 50 rupees will be charged for that. I had never asked to activate any service. I never delete any sms from my mobile, when I search all my sms I don't have any sms saying this particular service was activated. When I am calling airtel customer care they are saying they are not even able to stop the service & forget about refunding the amount for the service which I never activated.
