On[protected] I sms'ed 'BUY' to 54325 to book offer of Airtel DTH @ 999/- who owns airtel postpaid mobiles. By evening I received a call from them (by no.[protected] saying as Airtel customer care, to book DTH. They (Mr. Prashant) instructed me to put credit card no & other details and they transfered the line to IVRS system. I put all details of credit card (HFDC bank) with payment of Rs. 2264/- and the same was debited from my account. Then they confirmed that I will get 1 month economy pack free, free installation, HD set top box , dish antenna. They provided me transaction ID as 10810437 and said will contact you within 48 hrs and the set top box will be installed. They also took my address and phone no.

But today is 18-09-10, after several calls to them no body is figuring out by data and asking for customer ID which they never provided to me. The is total fraud and god knows how can I get the money back. I even sent a email to nodal officer but no reply. who can help me.

I take my comment 'fraud' back. I wrote that b'coz after several calls to airtel, nobody can trace out my payment details.

After writing email to nodal officer of airtel, the STB was installed today[protected] after 6 days of payment.

Anyways, I must say return communication of organisation is poor since on commitment of 48 hrs it took 6x24 hrs.

The enginners came n installed the equipment, but forget to take STB No. & View card for activation. Waited whole day, called to local dealer about that and they took the number from me and then activated.

      Dear Sir,
I wish to lodge a complaint aginst the haressment by airtel up east ;as i was having a cell no.[protected] in my name till feb'2010.
Despite of my repeated request in march 2010 to disconnect the service & settle the pending amount in cash from me;but i was told by airtel customer care & their office bearers that they will not be able to disconnect the service.
they can only make the accont inactive for next six months & iff reqired they can reactivate the services.
which i have refused then & there only & asked for a final settlement;which they never did.
moreover they kept on raising the bill with same tariff & payment overdue penalty;despite of phone(no.) not being used from mar'2010 onwards.
now recently i have recieved a notice from airtel people suggesting that i must pay rs 858.00 immediately within a week's time;else giving a threat of legal action otherwise.
through your network i wish to state that it's a very embarassing situation for me & need immediate action;as i have always paid all my bills on time in last so many years association with them(airtel).
despite of that customers are threatened for legal action due to nonresponsive behaviour of those cellular companies office bearers.
Looking for your cooperation in resolving the case at the earliest.

          Dear Haritha M / S. Vinoda,

Your Customer retention executive (Name : Abhishek Das) had visited my
place on 14/9/2010 and seen the equipment return note and collected a
fresh application for disconnection. I have mentioned the details of
my situation in the note. He said your problem is clear and will be
solved immediately once he updates the system.

Yesterday I got a call from your local billing department, they stated
that one of my old bill for the Month of April, 2010 is due and later
on they said it is ok and I have no dues. I have informed your billing
department that I have cleared all bills upto May, 2010 i.e. the Month
in which my instrument was picked up from my home.

I still receiving calls from your automated voice calling system
reminding me to clear my dues, which I don't have.

If you have any reconciliation statement confirming your claim please
send the same otherwise don't put in irresponsible claims without
proof. Please let me know the way it can be resolved in writing.

Please treat this not as a final notice after which I will be forced to
approach the appropriate authorities for legal recourse. I am giving
you 7 working days from today to revert on this.

          Thanking you in anticipation.

          Yours truly,

              Dear sir,
I have applied for new connection via 12148.

Mr. LAXMAN had guided me for product AIRTEL HD. Had ordered it on
SATURDAY I.e 11/9/2010 & made payment via credit card.
Now according to Mr.LAXMAN & commitment he made was same day
installation. And failed with this commitment. I had thrice asked him
that will installation be done by today EVENING. And he repeatedly told
              yes.

I talked to 12148 many times and told will do installation on
              12/9/2010. & was nt installed.

yet as on today I.e 13/9/2010 installation is not done. I hve called
in morning for the same & talked with Mr.NILESH. He told me will check
status & call u within a hour. Since i didnt received any call after 3
hrs I called again. The representative didn't told me name & whn I
inquired about my new connection he talked rudely tht it will be
installed & told me not to call again and again for the same and
              disconnected call.

Since after this attitude of AIRTEL dth personal, I thnk eirther AIRTEL
have no interest to sell product & is only interested in harassment &
              thinks customers are their PEONS.

Hope to resolve this matter at earliest.

              Rgds.

              Dear sir,

I have sent above mail at [protected]@airtel.in

Airtel customer care 12148 is misguiding me. you can go through above
              mail and oblige.

At time of payment and all commitment is made for same day installation.
              *after payment*
while contacting on 12148 Mrs. Reshama is telling it takes 72hrs for
              installation.
Other representative Mr.Nilesh tell it takes 48hrs for installation.
on next call another representative tells you have to contact you
nearest dealer for it. (WHY SHOULD I CONTACT DELEAR IN THIS CASE AS PURCHASE PROCEDURE IS DONE ONLINE VIA NO.12148)
Then also I had contacted dealer and told we are running out of stock of AIRTEL HD
              box.

This thing of airtel is really very very hilarious. You are requested to
              do needful at your end.

your cooperation in the matter will be highly appreciated.

              Many Thanks.

              {{{{On 17/9/2010 FOLLOWING MAIL TO NODAL OFFICER & [protected]@airtel.iN }}}}

              Dear sir,

I am not able to talk to Mr.Gopal. Suryavanshi (GUJARAT AIRTEL DTH NODAL OFFICER).
He is always in meeting from last 7 days. As there representative responds.
On website there is a NO.[protected]. This is given as contact no. for Mr.Gopal but he is never at desk
              from last week.

So my question, is a nodal officer appointed to server customers problem or to manage supplies of set top box?
as not able to do both....

Instead of him I had talk with Miss. Pinky. And was a worst thing. She
              cannot understand problem.

              And gives no of Mr.Narayan.([protected])
              Mr.Narayan gives no. of Devang.([protected])
Mr.devang gives no. of Kripesh ([protected])
I HAD CALLED TO ALL THIS GYUS. And this thing goes on.

So I doubt that is this the thing for which nodal officer are appointed. (VERY POOR ASSISTANCE)
Its really a very very hilarious thing about airtel irresponsible officers.

Hope nodal officer Mr.gopal. Revert to this mail and gets problem solve.

              Many thanks.
              Viral. Khatri.

              Dear sir,

If there is no HD box with AIRTEL they should not take order.
And there should be system like giving booking numbers.
When booking no. comes then only credit card should be punched for transaction. Why does AIRTEL needs advance payment for delayed services.

You are requested to look into the matter and install HD box at earliest. As I have seen online there are many problems related to late installation.

SOME RESOLUTION SHOULD BE PASSED FOR IT.
              Instead of misguiding customers.

As this was my worst experience.
I would not suggest other to buy AIRTEL DTH.

Hope my problem to be solved at earliest.

              Rgds.

                Sir/Madam.
Recently, i received a highly over rated bill , on my airtel broadband connection. I expect it to be 220, but i got a bill of RS. 2500 . The everyday usage list on the bill is completely fake, as have never used this connection since last 6 months almost ( All my past cancellation requests and also the last bills reflect the 0 usage). As since last 6 months, I am using my MTNL connection for my internet requirements. However keeping the airtel connection just to fall back upon in case there is some problem with MTNL lines.
After getting the overrated bill, i immediately (on 11.sep.2010) called the customer care to resolve it ( complaint no.:[protected]. They replied me to solve it only uptil 18 sep 2010

I highly doubt the problem is related to either faulty lines or modem. So with the fear of getting an overrated bill again, and so not waiting for 18 sep 2010, i also, requested to cut off the internet lines with an immediate effect. ( Request: 1191489 ). However this request is constantly being ignored, and even after launching my request to end up this faulty connection on 11.sep.2010, no officer has yet visited me to solve the issue. I fear that their delay would end up in charging me with an unaffordable amount by 18 sep 2010 with a fake usage list again.
After 6 days of waiting i got a call from Airtel (17 sep. 2010), that they have come to the conclusion that the bill generated is ok. On asking, what was the process through which they came to this conclusion, they just told me that it can't be disclosed. I was surprised that after 6 days of waiting, no airtel officer ever came to check the lines, or modem, and they just report me back that the bill is ok.
I even requested them to provide me the website list ( as i am sure, it must be fake, as i never used the internet connection ) they were unable to do so.
As i discussed more, they just reopened the case.Sir/Madam, they have already taken 6 days for this, and yet they have not solved my problem. I am sure, after 6 days, they would again report me with the same declaration, without even looking into the case. They are delaying this case, and i may recieve my next inflated bill ( However i have already told them to cut off this connection at 11 sep only).

Sir/ Madam, what i need is only the list of websites which according to them i have accessed in this month. With their attitude and services i don't hope any information regarding for what they are billing me such a high amount, when the fact is my internet consumption was almost nil, as it is since last 6 months.

Please help me in resolving this issue.
                thanks

                :/
It's almost 5 days passed, since i wrote my first application here and 11 days since i first launched my complaint to customer care. But i am still waiting like an , with no clues, where my request is standing, or at what stage of progress my application is ? No officer has yet ever visited my home to see through the problem, and my connection too has not been disconnected yet. Customer care has no idea about the progress made for my application.

                Vishwas
                ok.
well, it's 25 sep. Total 15 days passed. And i am still waiting for my connection to be disconnected ( I request the same at 11 sep) and some airtel officer to check the modem and lines, and also the accessed website list .
Also, i can see Airtel has dispatched my next bill.

                Vishwas.
This is with respect to this thread in the same forum :
                http://www.consumercourtforum.in/f40/airtel-broadband-fake-billing-25676/

Well, Airtel could never solve any problem ever. I had to ultimately make a complaint to TRAI about the whole matter. However the matter seemed to get solved, when in Nov 2010, Airtel finally disconnected my connection.

But they have again started with their calls, and most annoyingly, this time a lady is constantly calling me, and abusing me in very dirty language. The phone numbers are :
                [protected]
                [protected]

                Her words are as follows:

"Abe bhikhari, paise nahi de sakta hai to haath mein katora le kar bazaar mein bheekh maang "

"Teri aukat nahi hai kya paise dene kee "

"Maa ka doodh peeya hai to phone mat rakh"

"Tere poore khandan mein ko teree aukat deekhaoongee"

Well..she said a lot of things. However i have made a complaint against this call in police, but my sincere request to Airtel, to stop such a dirty way of business. Thanks.

                Vishwas.

I have recharged my mobile phone number with Rs 50 only through online. The amount was deducted from my bank account but never got recharged in my phone. I have given 7 complaints in written to the nodal officer as well, but still not have resolved.

It is a best example of the pathetic service that Airtel offers to its customers.

Moreover when i called the customer care they cut Rs 3 from my account for talking to them and registering a complaint.

Moreover the customer services reps think they are doing a favor by answering our calls. They forget they are getting salary because we are using their services. One rep told me it is not possible to recharge Rs 50 online and only Rs 350 can be recharged online. That bugger even cannot understand or did not understand deliberately and kept on telling Rs .350 continuously. Looks like he was screwed by his boss that day :). Anyways the problem remains the same and still not resolved after 30 days of the incident. Looks like the INdian Police department is performing better than these corporate crooks.

I recommend, do not use the so-called online facility for anything for these corporates. They say it is for the user benefit, but it is actually a strategy to cut cost for them and pocket the consumer's money. Shame on the Financial Auditors also who audit these company's accounts and give a clean chit. If Company like Satyam can do frauds, why not Airtel.

                  Wake up consumers!

Recently I have moved to London for business visit. Before coming to abraod I recharged my Airtel mobile - [protected] with 2000/ Rs to ensure I will work in roaming.

But after week I landed in London , I got error message on my mobile saying SIM REGISTRATION FAILED. I called Airtel customer care and even sent email to customer care but didnt get any response from them.

One fine day , I got reply from customer care that my number has been disconnected and I will have to for new connection. Without any information airtel disconnected my number and made it available for sale which is not legal.

Can you please look into this and let me know if I can get my number and rupees back.

Airtel — Non-issue of mobile number in spite of giving ID proof

                        Sir,
This is to inform you that I, Praveen Shokeen, resident of Nilothi (near Nangloi), Delhi, have lost my number [protected].
I went to Airtel office in Hari Nagar near Jail Road. Inspite of requesting again and again and giving a new ID proof, they are not responding to the request.
The request was made on 13/04/2010 with 25/- cash as well. They promised to forward the request within one week but after one week they said your request was not forwarded.

Kindly look into the matter and help please.

I am Biranchi Narayan Nayak. I am an AXIS Bank customer. And I have savings account with NetConnect facilities for Internet Banking.I am a prepaid AIRTEL customer. I have registered my Mobile number (AIrtel subscriber) on the Banks's website http://www.axisbank.com. Every time i do an online transcation, an SMS is being sent from the Bank to my mobile having the NETSECURE token. And using that token we perform our internet transaction.

But for few days i am not getting the NETSECURE token on my mobile phone , and most of the times the SMS reaches me after a long time by then the transaction would expire. But it is clearly mentioned in the Banking site that the SMS bearing the NETSEURE token would reach within 1 minute.

When I tried to contact the Airtel Customer Care (198), they were not able to give me satisfactory answers. I couldn't do the transactions on time, due to which i had to bear heavy penalty.

Please let me know what are the actions that i should take against the Mobile Service Provider and recovery my money.

                            Hello,

Please refer to the complaint below:
                            http://www.consumercomplaints.in/complaints/airtel-dth-c422897.html

I was told by the managers that the relocation will not be charged.

Why the hell should I pay you Rs. 300 when you have only partially provided the services.
The service provided was pathetic and I demand a refund.

Else I should take this matter forward legally.

                            regards,

I recently changed my Airtel connection from prepaid to postpaid. In my plan I have 5000 SMS free and I am using GPRS 2GB @Rs.98. Till now I would have sent around 1500 SMS and I use facebook everyday in my mobile. In the unbilled amount they charge Rs.1 for every SMS and 30p/50Kb. My unbilled amount is now Rs.2200, still 6 days more to prepare the bill. I got a SMS telling "you to pay Rs.1500 now since your credit limit is Rs.1200". Then I spoke to customer care and the person told not to worry and he would revert it back. But today I got a SMS telling that the outgoing is barred.

Even after taking to the customer care executives and their manager, they told that this is their policy and I should have increased your credit limit. And I had no choice but to pay Rs.1500.

My question is if I use all the 5000 SMS (which are free as per the plan) and 2GB for internet (which is free as per 98 plan), the unbilled amount will be more than Rs.17,582(5000 + 12,582) but the actual billing would be Rs.349 as per plan. Even if I increase my credit limit to say Rs.10,000 in this case, these Airtel guys would then say that you have exceeded your credit limit and you need to pay Rs.10,000 immediately to unbar your connection. What is TRAI doing or is it unaware of this?? Stern action should be taken for service providers who cheat cheat their customers like this in the name of "policy".

I once informed customer care that it has already been submitted so dont send any SMS again. He said ok and again after one/two days it started again. To comman man they are very strict but to all those who are underworlds kings no identity proof needed for them!

The telecommunication companies these days are changing their policies in India at a fast track. They are loosing faith in customers and deviating more towards investing in smaller countries. These companies are in fact loosing ethics and lacking professionalism. This may be the result of their incompetent induction of professionals in different areas. which clearly indicate that these companies are in want of revenue at any cost. On the other hand they talk about Eco-green India, actually it is cost cutting at customer level, which saves money by not sending bills to the customer, May be this idea is noble if true. But it seems to be carrying an hidden agenda behind all this, about which a common customer is unaware of. The customers is the pillar of the company and the policies made by them these days are creating a huge gap between them and the customers. I think it will have a very bad impact in near future.Their employees are away from their job responsibilities. These scenarios may be present in other similar companies and i am sure you must be a victim of such things sometime,if you are a customer. These days these companies are working at a slowest speed and lack in making quick decisions to solve a customer problem. they have created lot's of division to improve the quality but they are unaware that the growth depends upon the slowest working division irrespective of the other divisions whether they are working fast. I am not a management guru, but i know that creating new business or buying other sick units, or small companies in small countries is NO Growth. You are only self satisfied since you are creating a dissatisfied customer's base on the other hand.

I am the victim of such circumstances with this companies being a old customer, i have observed many changes since the beginning at various levels even at the appellate or whether it's nodal level. I think there exist a great deal of communication gap among all levels and it seems that every employee is trying to save his/her skin whether he/she has to make false promises, lies, keeping customer in dark, changing policies with any intimation to the customers etc.

The only good step for the customer is to approach the Consumer Court , No doubt you can solve your issue, but why it happened? who created this discomfort for you & why? This is still a big question again, I wish they worked in ethical way and treated us like real customers instead of money making donkeys.
The top brass, the actuaries, the management gurus in these companies should realize this soon or it will be too late.

In my view point these big houses should be brought under RTI by the Government.
