Over Billing

This is regarding my husband’s Airtel Connection[protected] based out of Mumbai. I have been writing to Bharti Airtel since Nov. 2008 on the issue of faulty / over-billing but till date have received no satisfactory response from them. Instead the cell phone services have been suspended twice with no prior intimation and the matter is still under dispute. Here is a history of the events that prompted us to write in to the Consumer...

airtel prepad service — deactivation of text services

my mobil no [protected](airtel pre pad )since last six weeks rs. 20/-.isbeing deducted from my balanceon name of 'bhakti tashan'. i have complained several times to cust.care.to deactivate even i had received sms from cust.care that my complaint has been solved out.even after that balance is deducted every week.customer care is not responding properly

Airtel Prepaid Connection — Deactivate WAP Services

My Airtel mobile number is [protected] (Pre-Paid). For the past few months, I am facing lot of difficulties that i have been charged for unwanted 54321 WAP services. I have never subscribed or requested for any of the services from Airtel. Whenever i stop any service, another services automatically gets activated. Without my knowledge Airtel people are deducting money from my account. Please stop all this, becuase I am getting useless SMS from them.

    Hi,
    I am Vidhya here from Bangalore, I can claim to be one of the "highly" & extremely dissatisfied customers with Airtel. Its been hardly 6 months since I'v taken the CUG connection and I have been a victim of intolerable services from Airtel beginning from the corporate agent who provided me with the account . The list from day 1 just goes on starting from account activation, ISD, incorrect email address, call drops, false commitments, delay in responding to complaints ( web ), ECS activation and now has landed up in my outgoing calls getting barred for no particular reason . So here goes my story ...
    26th January 11.30 pm - Post a business conference call I was on, I realize I am not even able to send messages . Considering it to be some network issue, I stay calm for the moment . Try after say 3 hours unable to call anyone, call up the CC at 11.30 pm, they claim to be an issue with the server . TAT for resolution - 8 hours Assuming its for all cutomers, I decide to wait .
    27th January 1.30 pm - Realize the fact that the issue is just with my number . Call up CC way after their specified 8 hours time, again claim its a glitch from their technical end and applications upgradation and assures the issue will get resolved at the earliest .
    28th January 2.30 pm - Speak to a manager by name Prashanth, again gives me a TAT of 8 hours and claims issue has been escalated .
    30th January 1.30 pm - Called up the CC, speak to a different manager Pradeep, call gets disconnected in 10 mins . Call again asking for Prashanth, call gets disconnected in 10 mins !!! ( Wonder if the call got dropped or was forcefully disconnected ...Pathetic that they do not even have the courtesy of giving callbacks - claims to be only an inbound centre ... phew )Speak again to the same manager Prasanth, after 40 + hours of the specified TAT, asked him to give the explanation in technical terms as their template of "technical problem & applications upgradation" had become so redundant . Gives me an explanation - fair enough !!! Stated that my number had been accidently deleted from the outgoing server end, so request needs to be placed for the complete deactivation & activation of the service which ideally happens in a short span but unfortunately the resolution period had been extended owing to their application upgradation which was initiated from the 23rd of January !!! He guaranteed the request was escalated and gave me the present status that - the service had been initiated from the server end and was only pending for activation from the SIM card which in normal cases happen in 10 - 15 mins . Gave me the assurance, it "will" be resolved in 4 hours .
    31st January 5.00 pm - Way beyond all the time provided by Prashanth, 4 hours had become 24 hours ( Phew ... I wonder if they even understand the customer !!!) I get to speak to a new manager Sathish, he was a victim of all the brunt I bore towards the services and commitments of Airtel !!! I wonder how such people claim to be managers when they hardly take the stance to convince the customers in a polite and assertive manner ... really really ridiculous ! ) Now this guy claims the resolution window has been extended to probably a few more days ...and assures me by EOD I will get it reactivated .There is a limit to my patience ... ( even Gandhiji would have lost his cool . Trust me !!!)
    The WAIT continues and today ...
    1st February 8.30 am - Speak again to Prashanth, the so called convincing manager, gives the raw status that the activation is still in "Pending " from the 30th ... the time I had spoken to him & that the resolution time frame will certainly be extended as the technical Departement apparently needs to take a nap over the weekend ! In his terms, they do not work madam !!!
    Aaaaaaargh ... this is roughly the most worst and irresponsible answer I had ever received ... Customers have been kept holding their services and there lies a department who takes their own sweet time to work on any issue ...

    Why can't things be changed . ????? Ideally the Technical department should have been attending to the issue, if it was placed as a high priority from a couple of managers . So where do you think is the flaw, the complete system which they operate or the resources who take onus of the system . I have NEVER been rude ... and looks like Airtel has literally damaged my nature too ... and yes the WAIT GOES ON ... is there anyone who can really attend to these kind of wretched services ...
    I AM TOTALLY EXHAUSTED, FRUSTRATED ... CAN I GET HELP FROM SOMEONE PLEASE ...

        I purchesed one post paid no [protected] of airtel .since very first day I got network problem and i had given this comlaint time to time;but no one turn up to me Atlast i have taken another connection from some other operator.
        My request is if idid not get any service why should i pay the bill but had paid so much .
        so kindly cancil my no as early as possible and waweoff the out standing bill.THANKING YOU

Today $th feb 2010 at about 11:30 pm I got fed up with their services when their costumer care executive hang my phone 3 times. the main problem is that ....I, yesterday make a recharge of 11 rs for msg and today they cut my 43 rs for no reason and they are now not even ready to give them back. they justify that it is just a technical error. they just thing every indian is a fool and will not say anything..... Its not the matter of Rs 43 but a matter of satisfation. This company geting bad to worst............

          WE HAVE BEEN REQUESTING AIRTEL TO CANCELL THE INTERNET CONNECTION FROM 29.01.2009 BUT SO FAR THERE IS NO RESPONSE FROM THE COMPANY. WE HAVE BEEN CALLING AIRTEL HELPLINE BUT TO NO USE.           I have requested AIRTEL to cancel my internet connection during my visit to BHARTI AIRTELLtd., 1, Malviya Nagar, Bhopal-462023 (M.P.) on 28-April-09 at 3:30 pm but the employee there at the reception centre refused to take application regarding the same.I therefore once again request you to CANCEL MY INTERNET CONNECTION on 5-April-09. Any delay regarding cancellation of internet connection onthe part of AIRTEL resulting into BILL GENERATION for the month of APRIL will not be the responsibility of the customer (PREMA ARVIND KAWADKER ) .

          The airtel officer by the name of Ranjit Kapoor duped me by taking Rs. 1500/- confirming that they will install internet.
          Due to technical reossans when they couldnt install internet at my place then i asked for refund and have been doing so for past 3 months but to my HORROR Its a badly managed company MIS-USING Public Money in their vested intrest.
          Twice i have lodged wriiten as well verbal complaint against the company @ their call center and reply was same "HUMHE KHED HAI"

          I will strictly advise my fellow internet users not to take AIRTEL Connections @ all.

            I am facing the same issue. I didn't subscribed for any type of IMLEE WAP WEEKLY SERVICE from Airtel at any time and didn't using it.
            But today morning I got a message like "IMLEE WAP WEEKLY SERVICE service has been renewed on your airtel [protected]@Rs3 for 1days".
            Before some minutes I deactivate that using the "Stop a Service" method but I want my money back and want a guarantee from Airtel that I will be not charged for any type of charges when I am not using its service.

              For my Airtel services on [protected], I have been charged Rs. 20 Weekly for a service I have not enrolled for and not using it either.
              Request you to ensure that the customers are not charged for automatically for services which have not been enabled. There is no way also to discontinue the services either.

              Airtel Helpdesk have not been helpful in getting these resolved. I have raised numerous compliants have I have been asked to go to the site and disable which does not work either.

              BUT WE STARTED RECEIVING THE BILLS WITH CHARGE STD RS.1.50, MONTHLY RENT RS.298 & RS.30, CUG RENTAL RS.30/-. Means after paying Rs. 1495 against each phone as advance rental which was duly charged in our bills, they are charging monthly rental and all the above charges from July 2008.



              We have talked to them at least 500 times. Sent them at least 100 meassages. Their senior Executives to the Level of Managers have visited our offices at least 10 times. They collect documents and confirmed that it will be done in the next bills but we are receiving all our bills with same old problems even after one year.



              We are still maintaining our Loyality with Airtel considering that these will be corrected and we deposit all our payments well on time after deducting the rental amount being charged by them. Then instead of correcting the bills, they have started putting penalities for not paying the Rental amount of Rs. 298. We are paying all our useage charges well on time throughout this period and for all bills.


              Ms. ILA, Mr. Prashant Dua & Ms. Vinkee are handling our case from July 2008 and all of them have visited many times our office to verify all records.



              We were not able to come out of the above problem, we landed in another problem because of Mr. Prashant Dua, Busines Manager of Bharti Airtel Ltd.



              We received our Total bills of about 37, 000/= for all phones to be paid till 23rd May’09. Mr. Prashant Dua confirmed in one of his messages that we can adjust 14, 000/ and deposit balance money as a single cheque and it will be adjusted against all our bills. We immediately deposited Rs. 23, 000/= as single cheque along with a letter giving details of all our phone nos. to be credited in individual account well before 23rd May. Their representative came within 15 minutes to our office to collect the cheque and was debited to our account within 2 days by our Bank. But they did not credit even a single Ruppee of that into any of our account. So, the outgoing calls of many of our Managers got disconnected because of this. They are getting the impression that our company (Unicorn) is in bad financial condition that we are not able to pay Mobile bills. But they do not know that It is because of the highly unprofessional and inefficient managers of Airtel, who are not performing their duties properly. I do not know whether it is because of poor staff kept by Mr. Sunil Mittal or his intention to cheat customers like this. As it is we were facing problems of Over billing since July 2008 now this another problem has come where we have paid all the bills on time and still our Managers are getting the message of disconnections because of non payment of bills.



              - We have received our bills of this month where no old corrections has been done.

              - Credit of Rs. 23, 000/= has not been adjusted.

              - Penality has been imposed for non payment of bills.

              - Phones of our managers are being disconnected even after all payments have been done.



              We don’t know what to do now? If any one of you can help us in this matter, please help.

                Hi,

                My Name is Kiransankar Debnath and my customer ID no is [protected].
                I am based at Chennai now. I took an Airtel digital TV connection on 11th of January 2009 by Paying 2500 for which subscription is free for six months.

                I am facing issues with this connection now and I want immediate solution to this issues now.

                On 11th January the Airtel people used a activation kit of Rs 1750 to activate my connection and I got a message from airtel saying that your account balance is 1750.After that I was asked to recharge my account with 100 rs Voucher on 12th January because the airtel people by mistake gave me South mega channels where as I opted for Mega channels ( most Hindi Channels).Then I got a message from Airtel saying that my account balance is Rs 1850 on 12th January 2009.

                They also registered a service request to move my package from South mega to Mega channels. The Service Request no is 492251.
                I called up the customer care several times to change my package change my package from south mega channels to mega channels .they said they will do it immediately. Now 15 days have passed but they are yet to correct the problem.



                I was surprised yesterday when I got a message from Airtel saying that your account balance is -650 and recharge your account otherwise your account will be deactivated on 17th January.

                I called up the customer care for several times and ring was going no body picked up the phone. once it was showing network busy.

                I recharged my account with two Prepaid voucher or rs 100 each and one with Rs500 total of Rs 700 yesterday(15th January).Now the acoount balance is 50 only where as account balance should be 2500.

                Now my question is that how come my balance became -650 in 5 days where as I have paid rs 2500 for six months and now asking me recharge my account otherwise my connection will be deactivated.

                I called up the customer care several times to change my package change my package from south mega channels to mega channels .

                I would suggest you to look into the matter and do the necessary action.
                An early response in this regard will be highly appreciated.

The thing is that Airtel company deducate Rs46/- from my account balance on 30/1/2009 for previous ie in Nov 2008 Airtel given scheme to me for 200 SMS in 46 Rupees but at that time in my account ballance had no money and after 2 month i recharge my mob. on 27/1/2008 they deducate money form my account.

[protected]. i told your agent to recharge my mobile for 500/- near samrala chowk, ludhiana on 04/01/09 about 11:00 am.Without asking my intention he gave me scheme of some 150 min. free airtel to airtel and 1/- balance.He didn't tell me about the scheme before recharging.My Trans ID is[protected].                     Since my months I'm facing the signals problem near my residence location,
                    not only me, many of them who stay here are also with the same problem,
                    many times i called to 121.. the only answer i get that "it will be SOLVED in 15-20 DAYS"
                    BUT there is no solution..
                    many o[censored]s, changed their connections to TATA, RELIANCE or BSNL etc.
                    even i to shifted to BSNL prepaid..
                    even in small villages i travel their the signals will perfect in my mobile even though they are far from the city..
                    i need sum codes for use in not reachable, switch off, netwok not doing worked . and all
                    i need sum tips for airtel codes use for not reachable and Etc..

                          i lost my mobile 2 months ago, which had validity up to march 2008. after 2 months i filed a complaint about it and made sim of same number [protected], but now problem had arised, no recharge plan had been successful so far and they are not showing me as a prepaid customer .                           I have raised a complaint regarding an unsuccessful transaction of Rs. 333 (transaction date: 27th March, 2012) on 30th March, 2012. I have been receiving several confirmations that the Airtel customer service executives are looking into the matter but till now the problem is not resolved. Please help me get the money.

                          balance cut my atm but recharge not succefully, so please send me balance in my mobile or refund my money.

                            I have activated Airtel’s Net on Phone (NOP) service on my mobile since last month. I have been told that this includes 150 monthly rental with no charge for surfing and downloading except Airtel Live. At the end of month, I am charged with all the surfing I did on the Kbyte basis and billed around 4000.

                            When inquired, they are saying that access was done thro Airtel Live (WAP_ALL) service and not thro NOP (AirtelWap). I, as an end user won’t understand which service is used to connect internet in background and why NOP is not used (It’s selected by default in my cell). According to them, Airtel Live comes on title bar when accessed but I cant see anything like that in Opera mini or my default browser.

                            This is a straight case of cheat and I am completely confused what to do next as I even contacted Nodal officer without fruitful results.

                            Any inputs will be appreciated.
                            I am facing the same problem. Please do let me know how you handled this and can I claim my money back.

                            Newly 50 paise per minute charging if we want to speak to customer care.

                            I am now facing the same problem with Airtel . My GPRS charges never exceeded 150 Rs. per month for the last one year . This month it has come Rs. 3634 and is itemised under WAP_ALL. I have approached Cusromer care Executives as also Nodal Officer of Airtel about the details . They only say it is loaded thru my mobile and that is all they can say and no other information can be given. I do not accept this as no service provider can have this attitude. They have to bill us correct and fair. Amazingly Airtel is charging us to talk to their customer care Executive for the problem created by them . These kind of business group can survive here in our country only - hopefully not long..

                            Even i have the same problem my bill was too high last month &i dont get proper reply from customer care too...i have decided to disconnect my Airtel connection & since its a cooperate connection, i will have my team disconnect that too...by tomorrow...

                            Even I too have same issue. I have been using GPRS Rs. 98/ for the last 7-8 months. I have separate icons " Airtel Live" and "Web" on my Nokia set.
                            I usually connect internet thru "Web" never used "airtel live" yet I got bill as I have used Airtel live. I checked with customer care aske for waiver else I am planning to file complain on consumer complaint portal.

                            same problem is with my bill. it has charge me 859.20 rupees under wap_all. when i contacted customer care it kept me busy 4 more than 25 minutes without any information.
                            airtel has done the same to me.they charged 1146 rupees for internet usage although i had got 2gb plan.the customer care exe told me i have used airtel live as access point.i know it is almost use less to write this all here but at least now i know that i am not alone.
                            i have the same problem too... called CC and dint get any help :( they changed me 700 just for wap_all ) my reg mob bill never crossed 600-700 and only internet is 700 now .. can some one from Airtel do something about this

                                it is long story but i will cut it short i had applied for airtel broad band connection on 14 jan 09 and i paid Rs.300 cash to Mr Rakesh kumar contact no.[protected] and Mr.rohit kumar contact no.[protected] and i was assured that my internet connection would take place with in three days.after my several telephonic request the gave me my cash receipt ...receipt no is 499348 SEF NO.518537.
                                it is very disgusting that nothing had happened so far..my projects are getting delayed by every passing day.now they are not picking up my calls also.i will very ...

                                  I am using airtel dada card, which is given to me by my company Jungle Lodges & Reosrts Ltd.The data card number is [protected] . I got this card in Nov since i got i have been facing s problem that it gets disconnected in every 5 mins or so i have to take it out or else restart my laptop again. Since then i have been in touch with airtel consumer people like Ms, Simran, Mr.Ravi, Ms Meeta, Mr Kulwant and many more. At the start they said we will look into the matter and gave me a complaint number 19326153 and said they will be calling me back but they dint do so, Then i called them they gave me a service centre address i went there and got it checked he reinstalled another software which worked for half an hour there but after that again it gave me the same problem. Minewhile it was Dec and they realised that this problem cannot be resolved so they told methat they will replace it by USB but since then i am waiting for my replacement and dint get yet its end of Jan now.
                                  my problem is not yet solved???? and i am not being able to use my corporate data card which is making my job so complicated.i told them that i will file a compliant in Consumer court and they simply said your wish.. i never expected it from Airtel.

                                  All my office Airtel data cards are having same issue and need to replaced .
                                  facing problam with the data card some modem problam please send some one to repair
