Airtel — No cell phone info display

in the cellphone info display feature, when it is switched on, the name of the area is supposed to be displayed. but air-tel only shows its advertisements and does not show the name of the area.
Complaints to consumer care executives have been futile.

AirTel — Complaint of sim

Deepak Samant had purcased a SIM card, 6 months ago, from Mumbai. It was working fine from last 6 months. But when I came to Pune few days back, my SIM card is showing as It is unregistered. As all the incoming and outgoing of my phone are now block, so I am facing a lot of problem here. I am working here in a M.N.C. so it is not possible for me to go back to Mumbai and talk with my agent from whom I had taken my SIM.

Therefore I request you to please resolve this problem as soon as possible and make my SIM working, or tell me other procedure so that I can overcome from this problem.

    Dear Airtel,

    Customer Name : Mrs Sudha Gajanan Bhise
    Relationship with customer as: Daughter.

    I have been asking for refund of my security deposit amount of Rs.500/- for my mobile number : [protected], serveral times (pl check your records in 121 in this case). All in vain.

    When I had called for the first time, I was being informed that I will receive this amount by cheque within 45 days.

    As off now there is no communication upfront from Airtel !!

    On recently enquring on date 18th June 2008, I received sms with the simultaneously provinding the service request number :[protected] and we will get back to you by Wednesday 25 th June[protected] hours.

    There was no response from Airtel either !

    When I called on 121 Customer care the person told to get the refund i need to send my bank account statement through email.

    Here to be clear I do not require LOAN from Airtel of Rs.500/- but my security deposit.

    Awaiting for your QUICK and favourable response ASAP.

      Respectrd Sir,

      Aa my Daughter is to Young age 14yr. she use a mobile for her safty and emergrncy but Now, the stage is that it is very problematic if any unknown nmber calls her and say her sum rubish things lik e that they will tourcher her in road, Even when i called that person her uses slangs. now me and my daghter is really worried abt that seriously, she is even stoped to go school. So, it is my humble request to give the full details of the airtel mobile number. The mobile number is[protected]. Even the call is coming at mid-night also.

      So, pl give me full details to my mail id ([protected]@india.com).Treat, this is as my final step to stop the unwanted calls.
      Treat this matter on urgent basis as the question is of my family safety.

          dear sir,
          i took an airtel prepaid connection on 15/06/2008 after submitting the valid documents, photos and form. it was activated on 17th june. then after twenty days now my connection is barred from outgoing and incoming and when talked to the customer care it says that the documents have not reached them. my submission is that without documents verification no service provider is supposed to give connection and if airtel had done that then the documents should have reached them. now they are asking for resubmission of documents for activation. i want my connection to be restored and an apology for the nasty customer service.

            I am writing this mail in great pain and frustration. Though I have been a satisfied customer of Airtel for the last 7 years but in the last one and a half months the way I have been harassed by Airtel Service centre I must say that I have changed my views about the company.
            Bottomline is I spent more then Rs 35, 000/- in buying a blackberry set from Airtel Service Centre and out of 35 days I have not used it for more then 4 days. My new airtel BB no is [protected].
            I bought Blackberry 8310 set from Sector 14 customer service centre at Gurgaon.
            My number got disconnected on 23rd June on the grounds that I have not submitted my employment proof. Please tell me that I purchased this number on my own so why do they need an employment proof and even if it was required why the hell it was not informed to me when I submitted my other documents when I bought this number from the same place.
            On 24th june immediately I submitted my employment proof in the hands of Manager of Service Centre and after that the services got activated but ONLY GSM and no value added services got activated.
            From here the service centre people started torturing me. I called up the manager on the daily basis from 24th June to 27th June for restoring my VAservices as I was not able to access my e-mails.
            he keep on dodging my by saying that the services are getting activated in next half an hour but it never happened for 5 dsays. Everytime I called up at 121 I got to know that I have not submitted my employment proof whereas I had given the proof in the jands of that manager.
            On saturday 28th June at last, I personally visisted the service centre and he restored my services in half an hour and told me now I can use my BB without any issues. I cant understand when it was half an hour job for him then why the hell he hadn't done this when I was following up like anything with him. He also told me that employment proof was not required as its my personal number.
            On 30th June once again my VAservices got deactivated and the reason was same that I have not submitted my employment proof. After couple of hours even my SIM got deactivated and the phone stopped working showing no coverage and SIM registration failed.
            I again called up this great gentleman and he told me that you come to service centre again and I will change your SIM card. I visisted the service centre on 5th july and his guys told me that he is not in office whereas he was in office only. On my insistence that I want to meet him he came out from his cabin and told me that he is not having any SIM card and I can come on Monday or may be I could go to other service centre. The staff there treated me as if I am demanding unreasonably and told me to come on Monday only.
            What the hell these guy thinks that we have all the time in the world to follow up with these guys. I am suffering after buying a handset for 25k, depositing 6k for international roaming and 5k for the first month bill and I have not used my phone at all.
            Airtel Blackberry customer support is the worst service available in India.
            They have people who do not understand problems and rather aggravate the problem
            All those ads in newspapers and on television are a hogwash.

            hi i have never seen such a bad service ever i had made a complaint reguarding the recharge of my number i did last month of RS76 on which i was suppose to get 500 sms free which i did not get & i was charged for the msgs i called up & had a word with your agent & senior agent as well but they was no action taken they told me they are goin to refund me the complete money but they did not i kindly request oyu to refund or else i will have to take this matter in the consumer court for fraud case & get it in media.

Before that my bill came at right time but for the 5-6 months it is not coming inspite of complaining many a times.             You are providing service of internet connection but it gets disturbed during night...and it becomes so embarrasive some time that u can't even login to google mail which is the fastest tool for gtalk...!Kindly do something regarding this so that maximim number of people opt for Airtel rather than some other option as BSNL and so on!             I would like to change my service provider.My uncle sent me a blackberry mobile from us.I would like to chane it to indian network either airtel or vodaphone.How can i change my service, provide me the details my contact number is [protected].I want to make it now.
            Wait till youneed repairs from Airtel. I sent my ahndset for repairs as the croll wheel was not working and was first asked todeposit Rs. 8, 900/- at SOuth Extension before they could accept my hand set. This is the great indian telecom robbery. They need to be dragged tothe consumer courts and the Competition Commission. A new hand set costs Rs 13, 000.

            I am waiting for number portability to come and then I will be off to any one but Airtel. They have become compalcent becuase they have grwon too much too fast. The consumer will show them their place soon if they do not get their act together.

            My Airtel Blackberry is under Warranty period and is not working good. Kindly send the Service centre nos. of Airtel Black Berry.

            Airtel is a for great [censored] in terms of service. They dont care, for customers.

            Even I bought a new phone blackberry curve from Reliance. But, they gave me defected phone. At the time i bought phone, the SIM was not getting in. Blackberry person, somehow inserted it forcefully, but guaranteed that the product is OK. Now when I changed the number and about to insert the SIM. I stood at the same place and finally I was told it would go for repair.

            In nutshell, RELIANCE and AIRTEL have grey marke product. Never buy Black berry from them.

            I recharge my Airtel number [protected] dated 15 Sep, 2009 for Rs. 501. The validity of this recharge card is for five months and balance is 445. I have got my balance but validity is not update. After five days 21 Sep 2009 I recharge my number for Rs. 200. The validity of this recharge voucher is one month and balance is Rs 103. The balance is shown in my mobile but validity is not updated. So my mobile is not working.

            Now I feel you are cheating your costumer in this way. My mother is admitting in hospital. I am very much mentally disturbed to calling you so many times.

            There are so many networks company in the market. I will take any other network.
            The worst customer service telecom company...I am waiting for number portability to change my service from airtel to some other network provider...

              Airtel are big cheats. I got a delhi phone number recharged by Rs. 333/- while i was in BAroda and i dont't get any money. THe BAroda customer service say they can't do anything because of the fact the number was from Delhi and the Delhi customer service doesn't pick up the phone. I go again to the Baroda Service CEntre and they say they can't also reach Delhi and can't do anything.
              So, nothing happens and no money back...
              Loss of 333 rupees and all the effort
              What a shame !!

                Respected Sir,
                I have given complient on 18 June 2008. So far i have 21 Reference Numbers, but so far i didnt find any solution for it. Whenever i call the customer care there is no proper reply from your side.I am really fed up o[censored]sing this network.I want to know when my complint will be solved, or shall i move to better network where they are ready to serve me better. Hope this mail will do the needful. or this may also go to the crush box.

                  Dt. 1th July 2008 at 8:30 AM from VISHWAKARMA TELICOM, BUDH NAGAR, INDERPURI NEW DELHI, I purchased above coupon to recharge my Airtel but whem i recharged my paper coupan code i got that plase retry after 30 minutes due to your network problem i filled my code more than 3 times than than my pin no. is blocked when i asked about this to shopkeeper he said try after 24 hours when i tried after 24 hours i got that your 16 digits pin no is wrong but i am sure that my code no is not wrong so please tell what should i do

                  i recharged my andrapradesh airtel number while on roaming in kerala for 222 rupees. i got 2 rupees in my balance . when i came to roaming i got a message from airtel saying that if recharge for 222 then i ll get around 199.8 rupee. so i recharged. but i dint get the balance . i called 121 for several times an customer care officers were saying it ll be ok with in 6 hours. but now it is almost 3 days an i dint get my balnce. in this issue what can i do to get my balance

                  I have recharged 500 rupees for my Airtel Dth connection[[protected]] through Net Banking, Soon when i recharged, 500 rupees from my account got debited, but when i check with the customer care officers, they said no recharge has been occured for my customer id. They were simply re-directing me to call to some other numbers and they were giving some Bull- explanation like asking me to verify whether i recharged to my number only or other number.

                  Also few other customer care executives were simply dropping the call soon after asking my complaint. One of the worst customer care i have seen ever.

                  I donno how to proceed furture to the higher officials, This is leading me to spend another 500 rupees for filing a case in consumer court.

                  There is no recharge available in my residential place.When we ask for the reason why there is no recharge available it seems that they are only receiving too less amount of commission.This strike was going on for 1week and now the are collecting extra RS5 for per recharge.

                    New connection verification problems
                    recently i buy a new airtel connection. After activating this connection working properly for 10 days. Past 5 days it is disconnected with a reason of negative address verficatiobn.

                    I have sumbitted all the valid proofs. I called so many times to 121, and they have provided one number [protected]. I have been trying to reach this number for the last 4 days, but it is giving message 'It's not a valid number'.

                      We bought one prepaid Airtel mobile calling card NUMBER 97583664/[protected] for rs 500 from Airtouch connect(authorised dealer of airtel), nishant kunj pitampura, delhi on 2 july 2008 and returned it to them within one hour of the purchase the reason being it did not fulfil our requirment.We wanted to use it to make calls to Bangkok but this was the card which could not be used anywhere in India as it was the card with roaming facility around the world.We did scratch the card but it could not be activated as it was not valid in India.we complained about this to the dealer but he neither returned the money nor changed the card saying it was scratched
                      Although he verified the card has not being activated
                      As we have not used the money because the card can not be used in India, what difference does it make whether the card is scratched or not.The madam at the dealer's was well aware that i wanted such a card to make call to bangkok, even then they sold the card to me.

                      I purchased two world calling cards of denomination 500/- each from international airport & when tring to connect not able to get through (It says card is not activated).                       I purchased a long distance World calling card for Rs 500/- on 28 Sep 08 from N Delhi before leaving for Ireland, Dublin. the WCC was issued vide bill No 1132 dated 28 Sep 08 of BB Corporate Services Pvt Ltd, Dwarka,
                      Delhi-75. My WCC sl no is 977630370000977630370004.(Date of packing-1/08/2008
                      After reaching Dublin, when I tried using the card, I received an recorded error message saying that the card needs to be activated for use. this is in contravention with the assurance given by the salesman at Delhi Intl Airport stating that the card does not need any activation. The help line of the tecom service at Dublin also could not help except saying that the card needs to be taken back to the seller at Delhi.

                      Airtel, Delhi is requested to look into the matter and resolve the issue so that I can make use of the card as per the conditions laid down for use .
                      Dear Sir, I purchased an Airtel world calling card from Mumbai International Airport sometime in February 2009 and have not used it until now I just opened it on 21st May 2009 and before scratching the card I noticed that the validity of this card was already expired in July 2008. This is a total fraud and I am very surprised to see that such a big and reputed company is indulging it's staff to sell expired cards at famous venues like the International airports.

                      I bought a Airtel world calling card in chennai airport on Jan 4th. In the card its mentioned that first use within 9 months of the date of pkg and the date og pkg is 25/Oct/2008. When I tried to use it today 19/Jun/09, it says that it is expired. I didn't even use this card for a single minute to call. I need my minutes back. When I called the customer service of world calling card they said they can't do anything.
                      My 500Rs gone. To whom should I contact to get my minutes back?. Please let me know.

                        THERE IS A CONTINUOUS DEDUCTION OF RS. 25.00 PER MONTH (PAST 2 YRS) AGAINST AN OLD SCHEME WHICH TO ME WAS INFORMED THAT AS SOON AS I TAKE A NEW SCHEME OF THE SAME NATURE THE OLD SCHEME AUTOMATICALLY GETS TERMINATED. THE WORST IS NOW THE CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BLOCKED MY NUMBER AND DO NOT ANSWER TO MY CALLS. THERE ARE VARIOUS OTHER CHARGES THAT THEY KEEP DEDCUTING BUT AFTER REPEATED COMPLAINTS THEY REFUDN THE SAME. BUT THE OLDEST PROBLEM WHICH IS PAST 2 YEARS IS STILL NOT TAKEN CARE-OFF.

                          I wish to register this as a high level complaint and require your immediate and kind attention.

                          I am an Airtel(prepaid) user from last 4years with the number [protected]. I had no concerns what so ever while it was a prepaid number. Recently I've converted the same number to postpaid and a storm of problem arrived.

                          Airtel executive came to my office on 23/06 without any notification and called me up for the relevant details when I was on Leave. I still managed to reach office and provided him with all the relevant details on a day when I was on leave.
                          Following day, my Airtel number was disconnection quoting "negative verification". I called up customer care department and was advised that there status states "verification not done because details not shown". I called up the Airtel executive on his mobile number who verified my details and he stated that the verification has already been completed however, we are unable to update the status because of server delay. I called Airtel again and was advised for the verification again. The executive on 121 arranged for another verification on the following day at my billing address but no one arrived. I had to call again for the third consecutive for the verification as had received another message of "negative verification". This time it was agreed that the executive will come to my place and I will show him my office ID proof. Following day engineer came to my office address, I repeat my office address and called up. He stated that he cannot come to billing address and the details had to be shown on the office address. I told him that I am on leave and cannot show him any details. He stated that he can meet any one of my friend who will just sign the document and verification will be completed. As advised by him I arranged for one of my friend to meet and sign the document. I had my line disconnected due to no fault of my own and had to call at least 15times and staying in queue for no reason. Meanwhile, I had my Outgoing Calls Barred for at least 20 hours when I prefer to make most of my calls from my mobile (as has no other number) which I was unable to. Next day of verification I called up Airtel Customer Care to check the verification status and I was advised that I had another number [protected] on my name which I used almost 18 months back and the outstanding for that number is Rs 5300/-(approx). I know nothing about the number and had no other number apart from the number I am currently using and also not sure how this enormous outstanding amount reflecting on my name.

                          I joined HCL on Sep'06 I have given all my details to an Airtel Executive outside my office for a postpaid number with Advance Rental of Rs 699/- for 1 year which I never got because I was told after a week of document submission by that executive that the promotional plan is not active anymore and was offered a different plan. I cancelled the deal as not happy with the different plan and asked for the copies of the document I provided. Executive told me that the documents were torn away and hence cannot be mis-used.

                          Please note that I had no other number apart from the number I am using from last 4years. I never received any bill for that above number and nor received any verification call and not even signed any document. I asked Airtel to provide me the details viz document signed by me before activation of the above mentioned number, recording of the conversation during verification before activation of the above mentioned number and most important the recording of outgoing calls to prove that I used the number.

                          I had not received any proper response from Airtel.

                                  On 02 Jul 2008 to resolve the pending issue of addon connection on my existing mobile [protected], I tried to approach Ms Rupali the designated NODAL OFFICER at Indore Offic on Mob No [protected], which instead was responded by a gentleman ANKIT BARIYA who was not only a confused person but was not able to converse in simple english, he refused to forward my call to NODAL OFFICER Ms RUPALI & if such executives I shy to come on line, the web site of AIRTEL should not show their names & mobile numbers of such callous NODAL OFFICERS. Mr ANKIT inspite of my repeated requests refused to provide me the E-MAIL ID of the corporate office of AIRTEL MOBILE. It is matter of shame that a company with over 7 crores mobile subscriber, has such callous NODAL OFFICERS who refuse to listen to customer requirements and work in watertight compartments. If I am NOT responded by an EXECUTIVE of AIRTEL MOBILE in next 15 days, I will be constrained to break relationship with AIRTEL MOBILE

                                  I agree with you, and am also fed up with airtel now.
                                  Before coming to USA, when I approached an airtel office, i was promised that my international roaming will be activated within 48 hours([protected]).It has been 6 months now and the roaming on my number is not activated.Yes they are not promt, sincere or puntual in their services but you have to agree that they are very sincere about billing, i am still receiving bills for my phone which i am unable to use for last 6 months because there is no roaming activated yet.
                                  I am trying to contact a senior airtel officer reagrding this.If doesnot get a response, i will have to throw away the sim, without paying a single penny to airtel and filing a complaint in consumer court.
                                  I am having tougher times dealing with these call center jokers.
                                  There's no NODAL Officer. All are thekedaars and Mr Sunil Bharti Mittalis just hving a ride of Customers Tail. No One Knows who the country head of customer service in airtle is (if there's one).

                                  I am thinking to switch to Sarkari provider. They are better than these Pvt Sector thugs.
                                  I am send a request for activating missed call alert for my airtel number([protected]), but still its not activated from last 6 months, i log many complaint for that but problem is still pending, they all are nt given me solution for that.what should i do for that?and cusomer care executive told me within 4 hour it will be activated but problem is same
                                  I have taken post paid connection to a lot of hope that I will not have to run frequently for recharging. At the time of taking connection I had to submit a copy of the rent agreement, two photos and an Identity proof. Then I moved to another house and informed the same to Customer care. They changed my address and after a few days asked me to submit Address proof, Identity proof and two photographs in 48 hours. My house owner was away and so I produced address proof from the company where I work.
                                  The airtel representative who visited my house had no idea about residence proof. He took the letter from my company, copy of my pan card and two photographs. After an intervel of 24 hours I received a message " SINCE WE COULD NOT MEET YOU DURING THE WELCOME VISIT YOUR OUT GOING CALLS WILL BE SUSPENDED IN 24 HOURS" Immediately I contacted customer care and very soon my outgoing calls were suspended. I visited the airtel relationship centre where I think I was treated as though I had been a terrorist. I demanded the return of the documents collected from me. They do not return the documents once they collected. I am afraid they will misuse my photographs.

Though I am receiving all the incoming calls. I have repeatedly made complaints regarding this problem to your concerned Department and Nodal Officers also but no such action has been taken so far in the above said matter. Since a week I am facing the problem of outgoing calls. Since this is my Business Number which has been circulated amongnst my Customers my business is getting affected badly as I cannot contact them. After making a call to your Service Centre 121 I am always assured that your problem would be resolved within 24 hrs from the call time but till date no action has been initiated on the said date.

                                  Kindly look into the matter personally and please take a necessary action in this regard.

                                  I have been probably one of the first users of Airtel since it got into the business in Delhi. since then have bn a loyal customer and with every move hv used their services, which am disappointed to say has deteriorated infinitely.

                                  1) My prepaid Bangalore no. [protected]. problems :-
                                  (a) network Coverage is low at my residence on Palace Road (embassy habitat)
                                  (b) inspite of complaints still get promotional calls & smses. which disturbs me during meetings etc.

                                  2) My husband's Bangalore Post Paid no. [protected]
                                  (a) ISD was not activated, for that had to go to their office.
                                  (b) While out of station, he has not been recieving calls..on the other side there is no ring going through. (while other Airtel numbers are working in that area so its not a netwirk prob!!)

                                  3) Our Hyderabad mob No. [protected]
                                  (a) This has blackberry service for which we paid a full yr advance on the insistance of Airtel staff.
                                  now that we have shifted to Bangalore and have taken a new Airtel connection in Bangalore - they are refusing to use the given advance to the new Bangalore no. By this its become cumbersome and expensive... using 2 phone handsets and paying Blackberry & phone charges on roaming. NEED THIS RESOLVED URGENTLY. PLEASE!

                                  I feel we as their customers deserve better service and consideration. Even when new /cheaper providers like Uninor etc came we did not shift but Airtel is using this loyalty more like they have Majority of the Mkt.

                                      I am receiving airtel promotional calls which frustrate me a lot. I think Airtel customer care does not have any other work other then switching on the record.                                       my name is imran malik jhakowala i am useing aritel prepaid and my number ( [protected] ) from a year. my problem is that my balance is getting deducted unneccerey and when i am calling customer service number ( 121 ) they r not resoliving my problem and when i am calling them they are keeping my call on hold for 5 to 10 minuts and then they are hung up my call, and once they were rude on me the agentover there he was shouting on me. so plz do take this case very serouisley or ill do something to my self and write a complain for airtel i belive you people will take some serious action andget back to me as soon as posibale.

                                      I'm getting calls from this no...it s very much irritating because if call the no pre recorded voice tells that it is not a valid no .from where do i get calls from Airtel ppl should ans this.
                                      i need a information abt a number from which i often get calls i need the details of the number. the number is [protected]

                                      Even I received call from same #, I think Airtel People dont have job to do and they keep call others for time pass.
                                      Even i got couple of missed calls from this number 24th Oct & 26th Oct 09. When i called back its switchedoff.

                                      Airtel Prepaid — Promotion call

                                      Dear airtel service provider my self is rajesh i m using Idea, Smart and Airtel's service every one asking, Idea is The best do you know why? because of their policies and they think always for their coustermer and not for the promotion advertisements (To earn only). I am receiving your promotion call daily while Driving (Stop the bike and then cut call and then start the bike) i can not remember my friends mb. no. but i remember your promotion call no. some time this call comes while i m in important meeting and some time during my study. I call your coustremer care they promise me that you sms DND then promotion calls will be stoped. I did that immediately but it was not stopped then i recalled your CC they told me that it is ok you sms immediately but we will stop it after 45 days wow what the great service. thanks a lot for providing this type of great service. Dear this is the time of throat cut comptition i think your monopoly will not remain for so long. so start to search new job Best of Luck. my cell no. is [protected] call for further details.
                                      My no. is [protected] SIM is from M.P. but It is in roaming (M.H.) from past few days i have recharged with 110 from M.H., 110 gives 97 Rs. in M.P.
                                      I have received a Message that is "Recharge done sucessfully with talktime 100 Rs.) but when i checked my balance there was 0 Rs. in my a/c. now retailer is saying recharge has done and not ready to give my money back.

                                      I was purchased priped connection or airtel new sim ([protected]) (Date =15-sep-2010) & submitted my id in three times to my airtel retailer ( Name - Deepak Sahu-[protected] ) & Main Retailor (Name - Anup-([protected])), but they both are not submitted my id in airtel office in spacific time duration & after few days my sim registration is failed so i have lost my balance of Rs 500.
                                      So request you to take action aganiest both of as, & return my balance.

                                      hello Airtel executives, i am VISHAL SINGH and my MP airtel prepaid no is [protected] presently i am staying in Lucknow, UP and my MP number is not working since last 3 days reasons unknown!! i[censored] want to close any service to number kindly info the reasons for the same. if Mr Mittal is reading all these mail than he should do something for the customers who are using his airtel since the start of services, Hope to have positive response from AIRTEL.

                                        mai abhi bangalore mai hu.mera sim rajasthan ka hai veha per mere hellotune the vo yeha per remove kerne hai yeha per ho nahi rehe hai. yeha per balance kut reha hai. mai yeha per 4 month k liye aaya hu.mai 4 year se airtel use ker reha hu. rajasthan custmber care se bait bhi nahi ho rehe hai.
