In re: airtel data card no. [protected] & airtel complaint no. 79757540
Dear sir/madam,
I had taken the aforesaid prepaid connection sometime in march/april, 2017. I had bought this connection through website advertisement and your representative came and delivered the modem at my house. I was always given to understand that it was a prepaid connection. Number of the representative who visited me is [protected].
He gave me 4 months advance plan and was told that thereafter i need to recharge again. Since, there was no connectivity and the speed of the internet was really poor, i took a decision not to recharge the connection and your modem is now lying in my basement as junk.
Suddenly, on 24.09.2017, i was shocked to a receive from the airtel alleging that i need to pay the bill of about rs.[protected].
I am shocked at the conduct of airtel. How can the prepaid connection be convert to post paid connection on its own without my consent?
How can airtel on its own an without my consent choose a plan for me.
I escalated all these issues vide telephonic complaint. I had at the same time, under protest, raised cancellation request. On sunday, i was assured by your representative that the will shoot me a mail admitting the mistake of airtel and that i ll get a waiver of rs. 1000 odd rupees if i continue to use the connection. I protested and made myself clear that i dont want to continue with the connection as there is no connectivity. He suggested me that i should continue with the connection with following conditions:
A) accept waiver of rs. 1000 odd
B) i need not pay the balance amount till your representative visits me and check and resolve the connectivity issue and in case it is not resolved, i need not pay.
The way this issue has been mishandled is writ large. Till date, i have not received a sms or email from airtel acknowledging my complaint. It was only today that i insisted that complaint no. Be given to me.
Every day, i am getting calls from your representative, where they admit their mistake, however, i am being harassed as everytime i have to explain what the problem is. Today, i. E. 28.09.2017 also i got a call from one mr. Gautam asking me as to why i want to disconnect my connection. I was shocked as to how could he plead ignorance. It was only when i insisted that he should check the records 1st and then call me again, that he admitted that he knows what the issue is. He also admitted airtel's mistake and tenedered apology. He also offered waiver of rs. 1700 and insisted that i should continue with the connection. I protested and made myself clear that i dont want to continue with the connection as there is no connectivity. Since, i was being harrased continously and my precious time was being wasted, under protest, i chose to accept waiver of rs. 1700 and pay the balance amount to lay the matter to rest.
However, mr. Gautam insisted that i should contiue with the connection to which i refused. He gave me a shock, when he told me that in that case, he will not give me a waiver of rs. 1700. He also told me that i need to raise a billing dispute as complaint lodged by me only pertains to disconenction request. I believe airtel is most dishonest to its customers. On sunday, i had raised a complaint for bill as well as requested for disconnection (Please hear the conversation between me and your representative).
I believe that airtel is trying to extort money from me. Firstly, wrong bill was raised, thereafter, airtel offered waiver of rs. 1000/1700 ass airtel isdoing any favour to me.
Please note that i dont want to be associated with your company anymore. My connection be disconnected immediately. You are grossly deficient in rendering services besides adopting unethical and malpractices to unjustly and unlawfully enrich yourself.
Airtel customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
