Not refunding my amount timely even though airlines have refunded them.. I want 20-25 working days and giving me below reply

      I had booked a flight on Akbar Travels online website from Mumbai to Toronto on April 23 and it was cancelled. I have asked them 7 days back to initiate a full refund request and all they keep saying is that the airlines will take 45-90 days to complete the process, while the airlines themselves say that they will refund the amount within 7 days if paid by credit card. Initially I was hesitant to book with Akbar Travels, but my family told me it is a trusted agency as they have been using this agency for all their international bookings. I have lost all faith in this agency now. Akbar Travels is failing to keep up to its reputation. Ref AT[protected]

      Hello AkbarTravels customer support,

      I have gone through all the IATA rules and cannot find any such thing as 45-90 days. IATA does not regulate or interfere with the refund procedures between any airline and agency. Stop trying to deceive your customers. You are purposely delaying the refund for 45-90 days to gain interest and use customers money for investment, which is illegal. I am going to take it up with the airline as well.

      As I promised, I have emailed the airlines, and the attached image is a proof that you have NOT initiated a refund request to the airlines. The airlines themselves have confirmed that they did not receive any request. What is your reply now?. Why are you openly lying that a refund request has been initiated? While taking my money for booking a flight you did not hesitate even a single second and now you are playing around and harassing customers when it comes to returning it according to the rules. I repeat, PLEASE INITIATE MY REFUND REQUEST SOON.

      Update: It has been 2 weeks and Akbar Travels is continuously lying that they have placed a refund request. They are refusing to even place the request. Just a very fraud company stealing people's money. I request anybody reading this to place a cyber crime complaint for financial fraud against AkbarTravels.com . They are a very fraudulent company.

      Update: American airlines sent me an email saying they credited Akbar Travels with my refund money, but Akbar Travels is illegally delaying and holding back my money. They are taking their customers for granted. Fraud company ever. I keep calling customer care and they keep telling me wait for 24 hours, 2 days, 3 days. It has been 7 days already since the Airlines credited Akbar Travels, but clearly Akbar Travels are a big financial fraudster company holding my money back.

        I have booked tickets hyd (Hyderabad) to del (New delhi terminal terminal 2) g8 - 426 30 december 2019, through akbar travels with pnr: sey5wx but flight is canceled and above said travel company told amount paid by me is refunded through paytm upi but till now money (Rs. 5594/-) is not received. When i contact their support system they provide a reference id which is not existing.

          This is in reference to above mentioned subject. I have done a ticket booking from akbar travels website for 11th april from new delhi to paris and return with kuwait airways

          Due to global epidemiological situation (Covid19) same has been cancelled by the airlines and have advised to take up with the travel website for the refund.
          Therefore i requested akbar travels to refund the same and credit the amount in my source account. The cancellation was requested on 2nd april 2020.

          Details of tickets :

          Ticket reference number: at[protected]

          I have followed it multiple times however the travel agency has not yet refunded the amount, every time i call i get a new reason. Some of them are listed below
          1. The airlines has not issued the refund
          2. The airlines will only issue credit note
          3. I have been given multiple numbers to contact each one gives a new number.
          I have confirmed via email from the airlines that the full amount will be refunded and they will issue the refund.

          Please help in this matter it is a pain contacting these guys listening to false reasons.

            I have booked two cabins in jalesh cruise for a mumbai - goa - mumbai 4 days trip through akbar travels. The travel dates were in last week of may 2020 but i made the full payment of rs. 2.08 lakhs in the last week of january 2020. However, since the covid situation was deteriorating day by day i decieded to cancel my tickets around mid march 2020 and requested akbar travels to refund my money. It has been now more than 5 months snce i have paid akbar travels and more than 3 months since my cancellation request, i am yet to get a date for the refund from akbar travels. The senior officers are not taking calls neither replying to emails.

              We booked our flights from mumbai to rome with akbar travels. It was a connecting flight via abu dhabi scheduled to take off on the 2nd april. At[protected]
              They had booked two separate flights with emirates mumbai-abu dhabi and abu dhabi rome. Which was their call not ours since we booked mumbai - rome with akbar travels.
              We got a notification from emirates that the abudhabi - rome flight is cancelled considering the pandemic. We asked akbar travels for a refund on the whole trip as we couldn't travel just to abudhabi and since the whole world is getting affected, it was obviously not safe a d that too to rome.
              Akbar travels has not once answered their customer care numbers. They reply to the emails after a week, sometimes two.
              On 15th march, we got in touch with etihad, which said that we were eligible for a full refund and they mentioned that on the ticket, in a common forum between the agents and airlines.
              We informed akbar of the same, no response. They kept stalling.
              Once we got an email saying will get our full refund in 90 days
              After a month we asked them on the update of refund. They first said that the airlines has to issue refund, which the airlines had already done. On checking again with the airlines they said, they haven't recieved the money since the flight had been cancelled and it's with albar. Then akbar changed their offer completely and said we will offer you a date change till june/july 2021
              I don't need a date change. I need them to stop dodging calls and return our money which we asked them for way back in march. They need to own up and stop scamming customers. When it was issued once that we'll be getting our refund both by the airlines and them, they can't keep going back on their word, out of convenience. It's not a small sum, it's two tickets. And in the present situation every penny counts. Ridiculous behaviour in their part and no one is taking responsibility.

              To akbar travels.
              We had spoken to etihad airways on 15th and 19th March. They have our call logs to reconfirm. They had already added a note the our tickets are eligible for a full refund. You can check in the airlines-agent forum, that you have access too. We had put in our request a long time ago, if you take so much time, that's not our fault. The airways told us that you hadn't asked for a refund for the longest time, on our tickets. It is your job to give us the full refund. You had mentioned on your email as attached previously in the image, dated 28th March. Our bank policy is immediate. It has already been over 90 days.

              To akbar travels.

Jet airways closed and they refunded already those who booked directly, but i booked through akbar travels website and they are not returning my money and no replies... It;s been 17 months since i purchased

                  Ba flight maa - lhr - maa has been cancelled due to the prevailing covid-19 scenario. The passenger vighnesh kesavadas will not be traveling to the uk as his visa will expire within a week. Despite repeated reminders to akbar travels, we are yet to get a favorable reply.

                  We therefore request a full refund of the ticket fare at the earliest.

                    Our kuwait airlines flight was cancelled due to covid (At[protected]/ pnr kk71fg) and we were notified of a full refund by the airlines.
                    It's been over 2 months since we are following up with akbar travels through whom we booked our tickets. We were initially told the refund will be processed but it's been over 60 days now and till date there is no resolution. The staff does not bother to respond to emails any more — we have made multiple follow ups. When we call up the helpline we are told to wait 'patiently' further, but no firm date is given for this amount to be credited back.
                    The customer is just left at the mercy of these unethical travel companies with no resolution in sight. We have patiently been waiting since mid of march. Why should akbar travels be holding on to this amount when airlines has already processed it from their end?
                    How can we get the money back urgently, esp in these trying times?

                    Dear Akbar Travels,

                    Stop fooling your consumers!! Our airlines has clearly notified us that the agent has not been diligent in processing the refund. See the attached mail from the airlines.

                    Whatever is the step, it is AKBAR TRAVEL'S responsibility to get us the refund. It has been over 70 days from the time you promised the refund and over 100 days from the time the airline cancelled the flight.
                    You are way past your dates promised. We need our refund. We have already filed a complaint on Consumer Forum so it'll be in your interest to process it asap.

                      Sent many mails on the pending refund.

                      My flight was rescheduled by 4 hours and airlines offered full refund as the revised departure was not suitable to me. I cancelled the ticket with airlines, when they called me to inform rescheduling.
                      Accordingly they cancelled the booing and refunded rs.5798/- to you vide reference # tct 2020/03/20/2289526 dtd. 20th march 2020.
                      They advised me to follow up with akbar travels for getting the refund. I sent e mail to you on 20th march 2020 itself with many follow up mails.

                      Regret to inform you that i did not receive any reply except system generated mails.

                      You have been delaying refunding me the amount, quoting covid -19 as reason and sending standard mails asking me to be patient. Your call center also not providing any information. Is this the way you traet your customers?

                      After two months, you sent a amount of rs.223/- last week instead of full refund rs.5798/-
                      Request you to refund me the full amount without any further delay. You have been keeping the amount for more than 2 months,

                        I had booked my flight tickets via united airlines at[protected] & pnr gjgd5x booked on 8th feb for flight on apr 24th for 5 passengers. Since due to lockdown & covid situation, all flights orginating & terminating from mumbai airport were cancelled, i have asked for my full refund as per guidelines.

                        United airlines have very clearly told (Reg at[protected] & pnr gjgd5x) stating that they have authorized the refund but akbartravels have documented to be paid in cash. United don't have the computer mechanism to refund cash. We recommend you inquire with the travel agency you booked with. Akbar travels says we cannot issue refund & has told to contact airlines. I have been following up for more than a month now without proper response & ping pong of the issue from one table to other.

                          Sir, since March 11, I have constantly emailed and called on my call, but till today my problems have not been eradicated.

                          And the second reference number is AT[protected], this too has been given a full refund from the airline on March 11 and when I spoke to the airline on March 20, they said that your full refund has been given.
                          Sir, both the airlines have already given refunds to the people of Akbar Travel for 1.5 months in advance but the people of Akbar Travel have not given me yet.
                          Sir I humbly request you to help me get my money in this lockdown, I will be grateful to you.

                                I have raised a request to re-fund my ticket price on 2nd april, and it was approved from your end as well as from airlines end.

                                And i have checked with airlines (Airindia) on 3 april and get to know that they have refunded the ticket price and it pending from your end.
                                Its been 35 days, you haven't credited the amount in my account. I have dropped several mail but got no response from your end. Even your customer care executive were not providing satisfactory answer. Every-time when i asked the current status of my request, the only answer i got was they have no idea.

                                I understand that due to uncertain circumstances, you are receiving high volume of tickets request but its been 34 days, provided the airline already refunded the amount. As a customer, it only creates doubt on your efficiency or on your intentions. Hence, it a humble request you to please expedite our refunding process. I was given a time line of 15 days and also was intimated the same by customer care executives. Please expedite. Its a crunch time right now and also the refund amount is a big one. A

                                    Dear sir,

                                    My booking id is at[protected].

                                    Due to the covid 19 pandemic my flight was cancelled by the airline on 20th march, 2020 for the same they had processed full refund to travel agent on 23rd march, 2020 with transaction id 93434907. A tax credit note from the airline is attached as proof of refund.

                                    After nearly 10 mails and 100 phone calls akbar travels sent me a refund acknowledgement on 5th april, 2020 (Screenshot attached) stating that my refund will be processed within 25 days. The refund acknowledgement mail was sent by their employee vaibhav kandalkar.

                                    The said time is already over, however the refund hasn't hit my bank account, i have been waiting for my refund for more than a month now. This is highly unethical on their part, to hold the refund even after sending an acknowledgement and after receiving it from the airline.

                                    Whenever i try to reach out to them on their call center, the only response i get is to wait for the refund. Moreover their customer care employees misbehave with customers, this shows the level of respect they have for them. I have sent two mails to them today (1st may) but haven't got a reply on any of them.

                                    They have no right to hold my refund once it has been processed by the airline. I hope this issue is looked into at top priority and my month-long wait for the refund ends.

                                    I have attached the following documents.
                                    1) refund acknowledgement from vaibhav kandalkar, akbar travels on 5th april, 2020.
                                    2) tax credit note from go air.

                                      I had raised complaint for my refund amount which was pending since more than a month. I have received credit in my hdfc credit card account of rs.135, 282 today.

                                      I had paid akbar travels for total three tickets rs.157, 752. The net cancellation amount confirmed from akbar travels is rs.7090 per person (Mail is in the complaint details) which works out to be rs.21, 270. There is a difference of rs.1200.

                                      Could you please explain why this difference.

                                      Also as mentioned in my earlier mails i had paid the interest for my credit card transaction done for ticket booking. Akbar travels had promised the transfer will be within 30 days, which was not done for which i have incurred interest of rs.1515 which akbar travel has to pay me.

                                      Please make payment of rs.1515 + 1200 = rs.2715.

                                      please send me a screen shot or mail me the terms and conditions wherein the above is stated. Also please refund my interest back paid to the credit card department as there was delayed from akbar travels for processing and as per your terms and condition mentioned in cancellation policy it is 15 days post cancellation.
                                      Please send me the terms and condition copy as this was not mentioned anywhere. Also what about my interest paid due to your late processing. I need that amount as this was promised to be done within 15 days as per your terms and conditions mentioned in your cancellation policy. This you need to refund me back.

                                        Dear sir, i had booked tickets for my family trip through akbar travel on 23rd january 2020 to russia (Date of departure 1st may). Due to the pandemic i cancelled my tickets on 17th march, wherein akbar travel stated that the refund should be processed within 15 working days. Post that and after my several reminders they revert that the refund will be processed within 30 working days. Now its more than 30 days and they are not responding to any of my mail. I even marked the last trail mails to their ceo. But no response. I have checked online with the airlines wherein my ticket status shows refund processed. Please help me to recover my money as the amount is swiped on my credit card and i am paying huge taxes on the same. During this lockdown i am not getting my full salary. Please help.
