Patient Mrs. Suchita Tyagi, UHID[protected], 57 years was admitted to NICU on 24.09.2022 under Dr.Alok Kumar Aggarwal, case of recurrent Ca ovary and brain metastasis. The patient was received in Platinum 1 on 27.09.2022.
In both units we do not have a staff named Mihra, so the matter was checked with the attendant. Initially, the attendant was reluctant to provide the right information. Later he mentioned that, the staffs were in a hurry to complete the task when they were changing the cozy towel.
Investigated the matter with the assigned staff and with the Charge Nurse, according to them, the Patient is a bed-bound patient and cannot be mobilized to the washroom. Due to loose motion and continuous use of the diaper, the patient had diaper rashes so only cozy towels were used. As per the advice of the treating physician, siloderm ointment was applied for rashes. On 02.10.2022, around 4 pm, the patient pressed the call bell for changing the cozy towel, assigned staff along with GDA & housekeeping staff changed the cozy towel. No other conversations/concerns were raised.
ANS Sheeba Varghese met the attendant and assured proper care and provided necessary clarifications.
However, all the staff in the unit have been briefed about the complaint & instructed to be more sensitive towards the needs of the patient and to be polite.
