Hi,

I am working as an IT professional in Bangalore. I use BMTC volvo to travel daily from AECS Layout to I-Gate bus stop and the ticket charge is 15Rs. Today, 17th Jan 2013 09:25am, I got into bus on the way between AECS Layout and BEML bus stop. The conductor demanded 20Rs. I assumed that it is because I got in before AECS Layout that the conductor is demanding more money. But he did not give me a ticket. I asked for ticket and he replied that he will give ticket and he moved towards the front side of the bus where I cannot keep asking. While getting out of the bus too I asked many times to give me ticket, but the conductor was ignoring me totally. Then I had to leave bus without collecting ticket.

The registration number of the bus is KA 01 FA 1412 and the route no is 335E. I don't know the name of the bus conductor. It is a matter of 20Rs only, but the conductor cannot behave like this.

Dear Sir, We are getting updating pop-up message from this site from last few months back, so delay in reply. Sure action will be taken on your complaint. BMTC

BMTC — Not issuing ticket

Dear sirs,

My son(studying 10std) goes to tution every day with his cousin.

He takes a bus from Bilekahalli bus stop to Arekere gate. He pays 3 rs. his cousin also gives 3rs.
Conductors take total 5rs (together for both o[censored]s), they do not issue ticket.

My wife tells my son that he should demand ticket because if the TC comes he has to pay fine.
If my son demands ticket conductor refuses to issue ticket.

This is putting my son into unnecessary pressure everyday. I am sure this might be affecting a lot of children. I have seen this happening to 15-16 year old girl once, when a TC asked her to show the ticket conductor was saying that she has not bought the ticket, where as she had paid to the conductor and he had not issued ticket.

I am a Kannadiga brought up in Bombay. I have moved to B'lore in May2004.I tarvel in BMTC every day inspite of having a car.I have travelled in Bombay buses for 40 years. I have never come across a conductor taking money and not issuing ticket. Here in B'lore every time I get into the bus I see conductors doing this. Because of this government gets less money, they increase the fare, ultimately the commuter has to bear the burden.

BMTC — Not issuing the bus ticket

Sir,
Most of the BMTC condustors are not issuing the ticket after paying the face.daily i traval from bommanahalli koramangala but hardly i get ticket.if the tiket fare is 6, after me paying 6 rupees they will give 1 or 2 rupees back so that i should not ask for the ticket.i am travelling daily by BMTC fram past 1 yaer but till now i have not seen any checker or any authority checking for the ticket.this is not happing just for me . this happens everywhere.this conductors are taking the public money

Pleas do some ticket checking .other wise why we have to waste money.please do some thing for this
Dear Sir
dear sir...

BMTC — NOT PROVIDING TICKET

This has been the 3rd day that even upon constant request, the BMTC conductors donot provide bus tickets to the commuters. Some conductors act rude, while questioning them and others respond that there are no tickets available for shorter travel ( tickets priced Rs.3/- or Rs.5/-).

26th/Aug/09 Bus route number 43E license no- KA01-1696
Conductor said that there is no availability of tickets...

25th/08/09 Bus route 57
Lady Conductor just showed a cold shoulder, even after requesting thrice.

This hapless behaviour of conductors should be curbed.

Make it mandatory for BMTC conductors to provide tickets tov Commuters.
Hi,
I agree with this. I normally take Volvo bus to office and back but some days I have to go to other places and where Volvo connectivity is bad, many a times I had bad experience from normal BMTC bus conductors. Few time I wasn;t given tickets. I can't speak Kannada properly and stops me from asking for ticket again and again or a reason. Because of these bad experience I normally take my car but whenever I switch over, after few days again I'll have a bad experience and the cycle continues
dear sir
Yes this is one more common complaint among people, the conductors take the required amount and dont provide ticket and on askin they jus give back some change and go away, esp in heavy crowded buses, and wen they write down the due on tickets they would go to the front door where men cant reach him and they would nt give the change.

BMTC — Ticket not issued by BMTC conductor

I had boarded Bus Route No 361C at 1.00 pm at Chikkahagade Cross on Feb 6, 2012. Bus No is KA 01, F 2153.

The conductor took Rs.5.00 and did not issue me ticket. When asked, he refused.

Kindly identify the conductor and take action against him

Pradeep

I took 500C to come from Udupi Garden bus stop till Agara bus stop. The driver was supposed to go below the Agara flyover as the bus stop lies beneath the flyover. But the driver move above the flyover refusing the stop anywhere before Belandur. In today's India when women's security has become government's highest priority how far it is correct for the driver to take a different route for his own convenience or whatever. I am a lady and due to this incident i was not just late for office but also has to walked through a long way that was completely unknown to me.

I boarded the bus for route 356C from Bommanahalli (Bangalore) on 24-Dec-2012 at around 10:30AM. Bus Vehicle No KA01 FA 1927. I asked for corporation circle ticket, bus conductor said Rs35/- then he asked me where exactly I want to go, I said Halasuru gate police stn., he said you have to take Rs40/- ticket to Maharani college. I argued that I have taken corporation circle tickets in the past for the same route but he said I can either buy till Pallavi Theater or till Maharani Col. The conductor misbehaved and abused me. When the bus came near the corporation circle bus conductor asked me to get down. I asked the conductor why they did not give me same stoppage ticket. The bus driver and conductor started laughing and making fun of me, and gestured me to get down. This is very disappointing experience for me.

Hi, I used to travel dialy from banerghatta rd i.e. gottigere to JP morgan(marthalli outer ring road). I used to take Volvo bus pass 1450/- now its 1650/-, since I observe lots of traffic jam in BTM, I changed my route and travelling via electronic city. Will catch 378(kengeri to Electronic city via gottigere) and from electronic city I will catch 356CW which goes via flyover and reach silkboard, From silkboard I go to JP morgan. since till silkboard there are no volvo buses I have took phushpak bus pass 825/-, And from Silkboard if I catch 500D they are issuing 25/-ticket on top of phusphak bus pass which is machine ticket hence i get date and time. But If I catch 500c they are not issuing 25/- ticket and they are asking me to take 50/- ticket which is valid for whole day, but i need only one way ticket . and 500c are issuing manual tickets where date and time not mentioned then what guarantee I can use that ticket whole day? And even If I take ticket for JP morgan without pass, its just 45/- only then why i should take 50/- . If the rules across all volvo are same then why 500c not issuing 25/- ticket as 500D is issuing.

          Hi,

My name is Radhika. My friend and I were travelling in a BMTC Volvo from ITPL to Brookefield on 8th Dec 2012. The ticket charge for 2 people is Rs.40. As we did not have change, we handed the conductor a 100Rs note, He wrote down on the back of the ticket Rs.60 but while stepping out of the bus, due to the heavy luggage and rush, we missed to request the balance amount. Just when I get out only, we remembered but by then, the bus was gone. It is a usual practice among Bangalore bus drivers to delay giving balance even if they have it with them and finally while getting out of the crowded bus, the travelers may or may not remember to get the balance depending on the luck of the bus conductor.

I am providing the bus ticket details as mentioned in the ticket below.

Is there any way to get back my balance. I know it is part of my mistake too, but the conductor had change and he purposefully delayed giving back the balance.

I travel from Banashankari to Yelachenahalli everyday to my office. The incident is of today (01.10.2012) when I got into the bus, the driver said no pass only ticket. since I was in hurry I did not say anything and got into the bus. The normal fare till my stop is Rs.7. I gave Rs.10 to the conductor and asked for the ticket. I was waiting that he will return my change and ticket both but he did not hand over the same to me. When I asked for it he became rude and started shouting that the fare is Rs.12 and i told him the actual fare but he insisted that in this bus the fare is Rs.12 i[censored] want go get down bt I will not return the change. Also, he did not give me the ticket.

The bus number is KA 42 F 495. Request your team to take action against these kind of people because there are many people who gets cheated and get caught because of these conductors when they do not give the ticket.

I have heard a lot about this consumer forum but for the first time I am lodging a complaint.

Hope to get a positive response.

I would like to bring this to the attention of BMTC Management Team. This is my second complaint. About a year ago, I had written a complaint letter to BMTC about the K2 Bus route drivers & conductors. I don't think dropping a complaint in the drop box or adding a complaint on this website has really helped anyone. I am not sure if the management is even taking a note of these complaints that so many people make every day. Most of the complaints are similar. Yet, the issues continue...

My complaint is against The K2 bus (all K2 bus drivers and conductors in general) in particular, K2 at 9:25am, 19th September 2012, KA01 F8997. Although I am giving this bus number, all the buses of this route are very mean, rash, and rude, and it is not just me, many o[censored]s have the same problems in this route buses of K2.

                      To list.
                      1. First of all, very abusive, ill-mannered behavior with the passengers. We do not want to stoop to their level you see to give back any answers.

                      2. Not stopping at the designation stop. Rash and erratic driving. Many a times they don't stop even though there is a bus stop at Basveshwaranagar signal and sometimes at Vijayanagar. Many a times, they take short cuts. Even when the bus stops, they don't give time for the passenger to get in and start moving the bus even though the bus is empty. When questioned, again the same filthy language is used.

                      3. Not rendering proper change. This has been another major issue. Even though they have change with them they do not return it back. This problem exists throughout the city though I know. Whenever we have change we give the proper amt for the ticket, but when we don't we never get back the change. I request BMTC officials to consider this issue. This might help so many people...

This is very bad to say that especially lady passengers have to go through such situations in their daily public trasports..

BMTC is considered to be public transport and the income to BMTC is also from the public. Recently, the BMTC employees had gone on a strike for pay hike. When they know to ask for more, don't they know tht they need to do their duty honestly and with respect. It is the responsibility of the BMTC officials to monitor such events, especially when they do receive complaints every day and ensure that the same issue does not arise again. It is not acceptable that its employees being abusive to the passengers..from whom their revenue is made.. not just increasing the value of tickets.. there are some basic things that have to be taken care.. Feeling bad that this is the type of public transport that we are using in the metro city and that we have to keep complaining like this. If no action is taken on these issues, no wonder if very soon the public themselves take some action...

Hoping to get a solution at least this time.

                      BMTC — Driver/Conductor misbehavior

                      Hello,

Me and myfriend boarded a normal bmtc bus(pushpak) from cosmos mall to SAP Labs india.
Driver was playing dual role as conductor too.
He took 20 rupees and dint even give ticket. When asked he returned 10 rupees and then also he dint give ticket.
When we forced him to give the ticket that fellow said ticket costs 16 rupees.
As far we know Bus charge in normal bmtc from cosmos to SAP is not 16 rupees.
we then said that we will lodge complaint against him, He answered very carelessly and also talked "No one can do anything for us, do watever you want".

This is the usual story we face everyday in all busses.
Can anyone take strict action against such misbehaviors.

                      Bus Number : 502
                      Time: 4.42PM
                      Registration number: KA 01 F 1732
                      Ticket number: R[protected]
                      R[protected]

                      Please take an action.

                      Thanks and regards
                      Sonu
                      Hello,
Me and my friend faced issue with the driver and conductor of the marcopolo bus (KA-01, F-4918) from Brigade Road-Wipro Gate. The driver has been driving so slow like bullock cart and my freind asked the driver to go little fast, however the driver replied stating that the bus is having some problem and can't raise the speed, this is the third time we r facing this issue from same route.
My friend asked the driven why is he running the bus when it is not in proper condition? and we had to get a rude response from the conductor stating "No one asked you to get into the bus there are so many buses and you could have gone in a different bus".
I am thinking that the buses are being run for the public and I request to take severe actions on the mis behaviour of such drivers or conductors.

                      Regards,
                      Bhavya

BMTC — regarding Drivers & conductors

Today (20.6.2011 at 11 am) bus route number G9 bus number FA1467 KA01. Bus route has been diverted from BRV to Infantry road and we were 7 members to get down in BRV but he didnt go that route he turned to infantry road we asked for stop the bus in infantry road he didnt stop and he stop the bus in shivaji nagar bus stand.

Drivers and conductors have arrogant and VERY WORST BEHAVIOUR .

They think as if they are carrying us free of cost.

BMTC is not at all registering complaint and taking action.

                      POOR RESPONSE FROM BMTC
I request bmtc to take action regarding this issue.
                      kindly update the website

Morning at 8:25am on 17th Sep 2012, when i was going to my office on my bike, I faced an incident which could have been very tragic for me due to rash driving of BMTC volvo bus KA01F9008.
On Marathahalli crossing he took a very sharp left turn without using any indicator and that too on a place where no space was available. The turn was so sharp that i had to go to left and stop my bike to avoid a hit from the backside of the turning bus.
If that was not enough, he opened the side gate of the bus, in such a manner that it hit my bike very badly and a part of right side handle of my bike was broken.
When being asked on this behavior, the conductor ignored me as if nothing has happened. I got so shocked by carelessness, apathy and rude behavior of bus conductor and bus driver. Why don't they follow and abide the traffic rules when they themselves are public servants.

                              Sir,

I am the regularly travelling in BMTC Volvo 500K from Vijaynagar to Silk board (BUS NO: KA-01FA-1746) There is one bus @ 7.30AM from Vijaynagar which is very convenient for our office time. So everyday morning & evening i am travelling in that bus only. From last 6 months i am facing a problem from one of the Mechanic who is coming in the same bus only from vijaynagar to Depot-13. ( I came to know that he is a mechanic by his talking about the vehicle spares and repairs with the other 3 of his friends). As soon as i enter inside of the bus along with my friends he loudly tells every day these bus is doing pick up and drop.

This bus driver and conductor are very silent they will never open their mouth. They are doing there work very honestly and punctually.

Sometimes we will miss above bus and we travel in some other bus and these people coming to that bus only and start to comment by using bad words. Because of these mechanics we are facing inconvenient to travel in the bus. So take immediate action in this matter and make to travel very happy and conveniently.

                                Dear Sir,

I am a regular commuter between Vidyaranyapura to Johnson Market. There is a bus Route No 362E (Volvo Service) starts at Vidyaranyapura to Electronic city via Shivaji Nagar at 0730 hrs. But God knows the reason, the bus is not regulary keeping the schedule stating one or other reason resulting very oftern we the regular goers are facing problem and reaching office / College (St. Mount Carmel) late due to waiting for this bus. Almost daily, the bus is getting crowded. However it seems from BMTC side, there is not interest to keep the profitable route schedule.

Kindly look into this matter and arragne to keep the schdule regularly.

                                SC Rajan.

Pick Pocketing in Bus 330 from HAL to Shivajinagar
This incident happened with me on 1st Sep 2012. I was going to shivajinagar. Driver stopped the bus much before the actual bus stop. As every one was in hurry, I also got up from my seat & tried to got down. a small girl 12 -13 yrs of age blocked my way. I was asking her to go side she was not at all reacting. I thought she is deaf. after 2 minutes when I pushed her aside then I got down. This drama took not more than two minutes. I went to a shop in commercial street & when I tried to open my handbag, Zip was already open & my wallet was not there. I lost 15000 rupees including my branded wallet. First I could not believe that how it had happened. & shocked that how come others who were behind me could not see the thieves. I would say its all my mistake either I should not travel in BMTC buses or I should not be in hurry while getting down from bus. then I searched in net & came to know about similar incidents. Because I was not at all aware that this type of incidents now happening in Bangalore. I was thinking that Bangalore is one of the safe city.

I completely agree with others that this type of regular incidents can not happen without support of driver, conductor & local police. Everyone get their share with the stolen money.

Only way to avoid this: do not keep heavy amount in wallet. you can keep this in inner pocket of your hand bang.(I was always following this rule, but that day I don't know how come I kept such a big amount in my purse). Thankfully I never keep my cards & mobile. in my purse, I always keep it in inner pocket of my hand bag. That's why I managed to come back home after withdrawing money from ATM. If trying to get down in rush then hold your hand bang strongly in your front side, do not hold it left/right side. Always get alerted if something unusual happening in your surrounding or someone is trying to distract you. Whatever I read in different forum over Internet that, BLOCKING THE WAY IS THEIR MOST COMMON TRICK SPECIALLY USING SMALL KID, WOMEN WITH SHAWL OR BURKA.

Strange I always follow all this rule, when I travel in train or any other part of India but never followed in Bangalore thinking that its a safe city. But now my trust has been broken by these bloody people.

its always better to be on safe side, why to take risk.

I too had lost almost the same amount as Shilpi, on Oct 29th at early morning 4.30 in Majestic while boarding 335 bus to Kundalahalli. Soon after i boarded the bus, and took my seat, i had noticed that my handbag zip was open and my wallet was missing. I had 200 Euros in that, along with my credit cards.
As it was too early in the morning, fortunately no transactions happened, and i could block my cards.
I had immediately informed the driver and other passengers that i see my wallet missing, but no one seemed to be a helping hand in finding the thief. I had got down the bus and looked for some police, but in vain. The bus driver said that it's very common here, and just ignored.

My colleague also travelled with me in the same bus. Even her bag zip was opened by some robber, while boarding the bus. To her luck, she didn't lose anything.

After hearing many such stories, i don't even get the interest to lodge a police complaint, as it is of no use.
I don't know why police won't be available 24*7 in such crowded places.
I lost my wallet in the similar manner in the shivajinagar bus stand. Somebody might be observing me withdrawing cash and keeping my wallet in the bag and while I was getting in to bus they had stolen it.I realised it immediately but it is of no use.

I lost Rs. 1500/-, all cards and a branded wallet.

as usual the police were negligent and the CC cameras were inoperative!!!

I felt its of no use of lodging a complaint .

But they have thrown the wallet near a shop which was picked by one gentle man who had called me to come and collect the same but there was no money in it, rest all were safe.
                                  Hi

i was also pickpoted in shopper's stop Bus stop today when i was getting into the Bus 359c

There were two people who were blocking my way and they did not allow me to go inside the Bus

I asked them why they are blocking the way and they said school boys are entering with Bag

But once the stop came and i got down i realized i was pickpoted and lost around rs 3000

What i have seen in the internet is the general technique they use to pickpocket is to block your way and you lose the focus
This is a common pick pocketing method happening in Bangalore. Yesterday I was the victim in the ITPL - Hebbal Route. I was supposed to get down at Banaswadi/Horamavu stoppage. Till Rammurthynagar, the bus was not much crowded. But once the Bus reached the next stop at Vijayabank Colony, some 4-5 people got in to the bus. They blocked the exit passage completely. Since I was supposed to getdown at the next stoppage, I got up from my seat and started nearing the door. But then I realized that the person standing in front of me was not moving at all and he was not allowing me to come near the door. Suddenly another person came to my back and started pushing me saying "munde hogi sir" repeatedly. I was literally stuck between those two persons. At that moment the bus reached Banaswadi/Horamavu. All those people who were blocking my way got down in a hurry. While stepping out of the bus, I realized that my mobile was gone.

This is a common mode of pick pocketing in Bangalore. If you are a traveller in the crowded buses and if you find people blocking your way while boarding or unboarding the bus... Please do not lose your focus by arguing with them. That is the trap they are setting. Rather keep your cool and try to save your valuables from being stolen.
Absolutely True. The same thing happened to me while boarding a BMTC bus but unfortunately my phone was stolen and not my wallet. Obviously it is group of people who had planned this out very carefully.
Few Pointers which were common in your case and mine -
                                  1) Crowded bus, although I had waited out for everyone to get out but once I got in there were two men who got hold of me to get down. Very Suspicious.
                                  2) One guy again decently well dressed with a bag in hand and long hair was hanging around at the bus stop and had been seated there for a quite while.
                                  3) Not a single soul cared to my tragedy, I tried to create a ruckus. No support from the conductor or the driver.
                                  4) Of the two guys who got hold of me started arguing with me, and had been trying to deceive me by saying that he saw someone get down and all. Pursuing me to follow him. I was very confused.
                                  5) All of this happened in mere 15-20 seconds of me boarding the bus. Hence very well planned and was executed by professional pickpockets.

Also in my case the police asked me not to report a pickpocket and rather made file a lost phone case, even after I had quarreled for an hour with him. I think even the police is involved or just don't want to do their duty.

I am new to the city, I never thought such things happened over here. It was deeply disturbing and traumatizing experience. Bengaluru isn't that safe now. Especially in buses.

Just for info this happened on BMTC bus 323G boarded on Ramagondanahalli Bus Stop.

                                  Be careful kindly

On 02/09/2012 I was travelling by BMTC bus G9 at 6:30 pm from M.G. Road to GKVK Gate. The bus number was KA 01 FA 2179. I gave the conductor 500 Rs note because I didn't have change. The bus conductor didn't return me the change at first. Later when I asked for it he started abusing me and after a fight gave me only 480 Rs instead of 487. I asked for it again and this time he started abusing me telling that you North Indians come to Bangalore and are spoiling the city. I thus noted the bus number and warned him that I would complain in BMTC. He said do whatever u want and didn't return the money and asked me to get down from the bus before my stop arrived. If each one o[censored]s doesn't get the due change from the conductor, then at the end of the day the person has nearly 1000Rs which he didn't earn but cheated the people. Please take serious care of the conductor and the way he misbehaved with a girl. He should be punished and taught a lesson.

I confirmed with other person whom he got ticket next to me.There is more than 10 more ticket difference between my ticket and his.Actually may be conductor collected a ticket from previous traveler or may be got that ticket from bus, it might be thrown ed any traveler in bus. This absolutely cheating to a traveler and government they getting salary from Gov.but they are doing this kind of dirty work.Just think if any of the ticket checker come to my bus and asked my ticket.. What will happen? . how much rupees losing to government from this kind of irresponsible work.more than 10000 rupees might be losing per day.At least Gov can use this money on poor people.I asked to conductor about his name. But he didn't tel to me.

BMTC/City Bus — BMTC Bus conductor cheating

I travelled by a BMTC bus from K.R. Market to Kumaraswamy Layout by 15G bus on 13FEB2010. The bus charge was Rs. 11. I gave Rs. 20 and politely told him I didn't have change. The BMTC conductor didn't write the balance amount (Rs. 9) at the back of the ticket (Ticket number NF[protected]. While I got down at the last bus stop (Kumaraswamy Layout 15F Bus stop) at 02:25 PM, I asked the BMTC conductor for the balance amount Rs. 9, he mentioned that he didn't have change of Rs. 9. So I asked him to wait for 1 minute to get the change of Re. 1 from a nearby shopwala. The BMTC bus conductor said "Get the change I shall give you Rs. 10" and left the place immediately (I got the change of Re.1 and came back but the BMTC Bus went away within 1 minute).

To the Senior Officials of BMTC:

Please ask the conductor to donate Rs. 9 to some poor children, otherwise you are also bloody .

                                    - Bangalorean.

                                    BMTC — bus conductor

hey this is raviranjan. sir here every bus conductor behave like we are not man. every time i speak in very low voice because they can get temper with my loud voice.but after all every day i feel i m not a man i m a dog please say them to do gud behave
                                    i'll be thankful
                                    thanx
                                    raviranjan
If more people gave 500Rs then how can conductor can return change to all...thats y in angry conductor had spoken more words and its true that north Indians are spoiling the b'lore.

Its nothing to complain here aganist conductor and it also shows bladi attitude of North Indians
Well Mr Sharath here i dont find anything related to North Indian issue...so dont drag into that..there is nothing officially printed on bus wall that "Please give the change" so its obvious that many a time a traveler end up without having coins in the pocket thats where the conductor plays a role. And that too you are talking about BMTC bus, your so called south indian bus service. No one is here acting like Akshay Kumar's Hera Pheri Role where everyone is holding 1000Rs Note so dont drag it to that level where it doesnt make any sense.

And regarding Ms Shilpa's complaint, i believe she is exaggerating the story here. I many a time trapped in such situation but never experienced that for returning the fare they used such words. Ma'am it could be his high time for the day and u fallen a prey into it. He would have told you earlier that he is out of change in that casse you could had ran your brain a bit and asked your fellow passengers for change rather than fighting with the bus authority.

                                        Dear Sir/Madam,
I am working in one private company and using BMTC from last 10yrs. I am staying in Nisarga Layout, Jigani hobli, Anekal Taluk, Bangalore. Most of the buses ate not giving stop in Nisarga gate, especially in night times. I have to get down in Koppagate/harapanahalli and go by walk around 1/2 km alone in the night. Though the BMTC stop is available, the drivers are not stopping the but after 8:30PM and a driver in Anekal Bus(366P) on 22nd told me that I should not get in to this bus. As a passenger, I have rights to get in to the bus and he should not behave like tthis. Really this is very difficult to go by walk at night times being a women. Please treat this as high priority and take it further. We want all BMTC busses to stop at Nisarga Gate all the time, if passenger is there and there ia BMTC approved bus stop available.

                                        Regards,
                                        Chandrakala
