Dear Sir,

I am a regular commuter between Vidyaranyapura to Johnson Market. There is a bus Route No 362E (Volvo Service) starts at Vidyaranyapura to Electronic city via Shivaji Nagar at 0730 hrs. But God knows the reason, the bus is not regulary keeping the schedule stating one or other reason resulting very oftern we the regular goers are facing problem and reaching office / College (St. Mount Carmel) late due to waiting for this bus. Almost daily, the bus is getting crowded. However it seems from BMTC side, there is not interest to keep the profitable route schedule.

Kindly look into this matter and arragne to keep the schdule regularly.

SC Rajan.

Pick Pocketing in Bus 330 from HAL to Shivajinagar
This incident happened with me on 1st Sep 2012. I was going to shivajinagar. Driver stopped the bus much before the actual bus stop. As every one was in hurry, I also got up from my seat & tried to got down. a small girl 12 -13 yrs of age blocked my way. I was asking her to go side she was not at all reacting. I thought she is deaf. after 2 minutes when I pushed her aside then I got down. This drama took not more than two minutes. I went to a shop in commercial street & when I tried to open my handbag, Zip was already open & my wallet was not there. I lost 15000 rupees including my branded wallet. First I could not believe that how it had happened. & shocked that how come others who were behind me could not see the thieves. I would say its all my mistake either I should not travel in BMTC buses or I should not be in hurry while getting down from bus. then I searched in net & came to know about similar incidents. Because I was not at all aware that this type of incidents now happening in Bangalore. I was thinking that Bangalore is one of the safe city.

I completely agree with others that this type of regular incidents can not happen without support of driver, conductor & local police. Everyone get their share with the stolen money.

Only way to avoid this: do not keep heavy amount in wallet. you can keep this in inner pocket of your hand bang.(I was always following this rule, but that day I don't know how come I kept such a big amount in my purse). Thankfully I never keep my cards & mobile. in my purse, I always keep it in inner pocket of my hand bag. That's why I managed to come back home after withdrawing money from ATM. If trying to get down in rush then hold your hand bang strongly in your front side, do not hold it left/right side. Always get alerted if something unusual happening in your surrounding or someone is trying to distract you. Whatever I read in different forum over Internet that, BLOCKING THE WAY IS THEIR MOST COMMON TRICK SPECIALLY USING SMALL KID, WOMEN WITH SHAWL OR BURKA.

Strange I always follow all this rule, when I travel in train or any other part of India but never followed in Bangalore thinking that its a safe city. But now my trust has been broken by these bloody people.

its always better to be on safe side, why to take risk.

    Hi,

I also lost 4000 rs on that day only.i am staying in madiwala, i went to shivaji nagar on 1 st september. i and my friend were waiting in madiwala bus stop, we didn't get the bus then we went to santhi nagar and then again we catch the 13 or 17 bus. that bus is not that much rush, i and my friend were standing near to driver only. we didn't get the seat. we were speaking upto shivaji nagar, front only ladies are there.we don't know when they took purse from my hand bag, very talently they pick my purse. In my purse, i put 4000 rs money, credit card, debit card, pan card. after getting down i went to shopping, i want to purchase something that time i check my purse, it's not there then i block all cards. please take any action it will not happen to future.
I too had lost almost the same amount as Shilpi, on Oct 29th at early morning 4.30 in Majestic while boarding 335 bus to Kundalahalli. Soon after i boarded the bus, and took my seat, i had noticed that my handbag zip was open and my wallet was missing. I had 200 Euros in that, along with my credit cards.
As it was too early in the morning, fortunately no transactions happened, and i could block my cards.
I had immediately informed the driver and other passengers that i see my wallet missing, but no one seemed to be a helping hand in finding the thief. I had got down the bus and looked for some police, but in vain. The bus driver said that it's very common here, and just ignored.

My colleague also travelled with me in the same bus. Even her bag zip was opened by some robber, while boarding the bus. To her luck, she didn't lose anything.

After hearing many such stories, i don't even get the interest to lodge a police complaint, as it is of no use.
I don't know why police won't be available 24*7 in such crowded places.
I lost my wallet in the similar manner in the shivajinagar bus stand. Somebody might be observing me withdrawing cash and keeping my wallet in the bag and while I was getting in to bus they had stolen it.I realised it immediately but it is of no use.

I lost Rs. 1500/-, all cards and a branded wallet.

as usual the police were negligent and the CC cameras were inoperative!!!

I felt its of no use of lodging a complaint .

But they have thrown the wallet near a shop which was picked by one gentle man who had called me to come and collect the same but there was no money in it, rest all were safe.
    Hi

i was also pickpoted in shopper's stop Bus stop today when i was getting into the Bus 359c

There were two people who were blocking my way and they did not allow me to go inside the Bus

I asked them why they are blocking the way and they said school boys are entering with Bag

But once the stop came and i got down i realized i was pickpoted and lost around rs 3000

What i have seen in the internet is the general technique they use to pickpocket is to block your way and you lose the focus
This is a common pick pocketing method happening in Bangalore. Yesterday I was the victim in the ITPL - Hebbal Route. I was supposed to get down at Banaswadi/Horamavu stoppage. Till Rammurthynagar, the bus was not much crowded. But once the Bus reached the next stop at Vijayabank Colony, some 4-5 people got in to the bus. They blocked the exit passage completely. Since I was supposed to getdown at the next stoppage, I got up from my seat and started nearing the door. But then I realized that the person standing in front of me was not moving at all and he was not allowing me to come near the door. Suddenly another person came to my back and started pushing me saying "munde hogi sir" repeatedly. I was literally stuck between those two persons. At that moment the bus reached Banaswadi/Horamavu. All those people who were blocking my way got down in a hurry. While stepping out of the bus, I realized that my mobile was gone.

This is a common mode of pick pocketing in Bangalore. If you are a traveller in the crowded buses and if you find people blocking your way while boarding or unboarding the bus... Please do not lose your focus by arguing with them. That is the trap they are setting. Rather keep your cool and try to save your valuables from being stolen.
Absolutely True. The same thing happened to me while boarding a BMTC bus but unfortunately my phone was stolen and not my wallet. Obviously it is group of people who had planned this out very carefully.
Few Pointers which were common in your case and mine -
    1) Crowded bus, although I had waited out for everyone to get out but once I got in there were two men who got hold of me to get down. Very Suspicious.
    2) One guy again decently well dressed with a bag in hand and long hair was hanging around at the bus stop and had been seated there for a quite while.
    3) Not a single soul cared to my tragedy, I tried to create a ruckus. No support from the conductor or the driver.
    4) Of the two guys who got hold of me started arguing with me, and had been trying to deceive me by saying that he saw someone get down and all. Pursuing me to follow him. I was very confused.
    5) All of this happened in mere 15-20 seconds of me boarding the bus. Hence very well planned and was executed by professional pickpockets.

Also in my case the police asked me not to report a pickpocket and rather made file a lost phone case, even after I had quarreled for an hour with him. I think even the police is involved or just don't want to do their duty.

I am new to the city, I never thought such things happened over here. It was deeply disturbing and traumatizing experience. Bengaluru isn't that safe now. Especially in buses.

Just for info this happened on BMTC bus 323G boarded on Ramagondanahalli Bus Stop.

    Be careful kindly

On 02/09/2012 I was travelling by BMTC bus G9 at 6:30 pm from M.G. Road to GKVK Gate. The bus number was KA 01 FA 2179. I gave the conductor 500 Rs note because I didn't have change. The bus conductor didn't return me the change at first. Later when I asked for it he started abusing me and after a fight gave me only 480 Rs instead of 487. I asked for it again and this time he started abusing me telling that you North Indians come to Bangalore and are spoiling the city. I thus noted the bus number and warned him that I would complain in BMTC. He said do whatever u want and didn't return the money and asked me to get down from the bus before my stop arrived. If each one o[censored]s doesn't get the due change from the conductor, then at the end of the day the person has nearly 1000Rs which he didn't earn but cheated the people. Please take serious care of the conductor and the way he misbehaved with a girl. He should be punished and taught a lesson.

Yesterday I was traveling from Sivaji Nagar to Banaswadi through BMTC bus at around 8 o clock night.I had given 10 rupees to conductor and he gave me a ticket.I was first person buy a ticket in that bus. When i got ticket i had 90% doubt that this ticket is used one.Yes it was.. I confirmed with other person whom he got ticket next to me.There is more than 10 more ticket difference between my ticket and his.Actually may be conductor collected a ticket from previous traveler or may be got that ticket from bus, it might be thrown ed any traveler in bus. This absolutely cheating to a traveler and government they getting salary from Gov.but they are doing this kind of dirty work.Just think if any of the ticket checker come to my bus and asked my ticket.. What will happen? . how much rupees losing to government from this kind of irresponsible work.more than 10000 rupees might be losing per day.At least Gov can use this money on poor people.I asked to conductor about his name. But he didn't tel to me.

BMTC/City Bus — BMTC Bus conductor cheating

I travelled by a BMTC bus from K.R. Market to Kumaraswamy Layout by 15G bus on 13FEB2010. The bus charge was Rs. 11. I gave Rs. 20 and politely told him I didn't have change. The BMTC conductor didn't write the balance amount (Rs. 9) at the back of the ticket (Ticket number NF[protected]. While I got down at the last bus stop (Kumaraswamy Layout 15F Bus stop) at 02:25 PM, I asked the BMTC conductor for the balance amount Rs. 9, he mentioned that he didn't have change of Rs. 9. So I asked him to wait for 1 minute to get the change of Re. 1 from a nearby shopwala. The BMTC bus conductor said "Get the change I shall give you Rs. 10" and left the place immediately (I got the change of Re.1 and came back but the BMTC Bus went away within 1 minute).

To the Senior Officials of BMTC:

Please ask the conductor to donate Rs. 9 to some poor children, otherwise you are also bloody .

      - Bangalorean.

      BMTC — bus conductor

hey this is raviranjan. sir here every bus conductor behave like we are not man. every time i speak in very low voice because they can get temper with my loud voice.but after all every day i feel i m not a man i m a dog please say them to do gud behave
      i'll be thankful
      thanx
      raviranjan
If more people gave 500Rs then how can conductor can return change to all...thats y in angry conductor had spoken more words and its true that north Indians are spoiling the b'lore.

Its nothing to complain here aganist conductor and it also shows bladi attitude of North Indians
Well Mr Sharath here i dont find anything related to North Indian issue...so dont drag into that..there is nothing officially printed on bus wall that "Please give the change" so its obvious that many a time a traveler end up without having coins in the pocket thats where the conductor plays a role. And that too you are talking about BMTC bus, your so called south indian bus service. No one is here acting like Akshay Kumar's Hera Pheri Role where everyone is holding 1000Rs Note so dont drag it to that level where it doesnt make any sense.

And regarding Ms Shilpa's complaint, i believe she is exaggerating the story here. I many a time trapped in such situation but never experienced that for returning the fare they used such words. Ma'am it could be his high time for the day and u fallen a prey into it. He would have told you earlier that he is out of change in that casse you could had ran your brain a bit and asked your fellow passengers for change rather than fighting with the bus authority.

          Dear Sir/Madam,
I am working in one private company and using BMTC from last 10yrs. I am staying in Nisarga Layout, Jigani hobli, Anekal Taluk, Bangalore. Most of the buses ate not giving stop in Nisarga gate, especially in night times. I have to get down in Koppagate/harapanahalli and go by walk around 1/2 km alone in the night. Though the BMTC stop is available, the drivers are not stopping the but after 8:30PM and a driver in Anekal Bus(366P) on 22nd told me that I should not get in to this bus. As a passenger, I have rights to get in to the bus and he should not behave like tthis. Really this is very difficult to go by walk at night times being a women. Please treat this as high priority and take it further. We want all BMTC busses to stop at Nisarga Gate all the time, if passenger is there and there ia BMTC approved bus stop available.

          Regards,

I am Swati and i am working. Today morning, i was travelling between kundanhalli gate to Vaidehi Bus stop to reach office.
I had just withdrawn money from ATM so had only 500 because it was issuing only 500 denominations.
I got into 500C volvo bus. I took Rs. 15 ticket. I asked for change. He was speaking in hindi but as soon i asked for change he started speaking kannada because he understood that i am outsider. He behaved very rudely and finally after asking so many times he returned 480.

I was waiting that he will return Rs. 5 also but he told he doesn't have. But i saw many people gave him Rs. 5 even the person sitting beside me also gave. When i was getting down from the bus, i asked for Rs 5. He told he doesn't have. He gave me Rs 3 Then i argued with him and finally he returned money.

I argued with him not because of Rs. 2 or 3 . It is wrong. This has happened so many times. Normal buses doesn't have change, we understood but how can a volvo doesn't have change whose fair itself is so high. And the ugliest part is they took benefit of people not knowing kannada. They keep change in hand but they don't give to people and that also in morning when buses were empty.

If buses are overcrowded then we understand that giving change to everyone creates problem. We try our best to keep change with us but sometimes we don't have and especially when we have withdrawm money from ATM. sometimes they don't give change for RS 100 also.

Does India have a change factory ???? Bus reg no - KU[protected], date 6/08/12, time 7:30 am
I request everyone to call bmtc customer care and make a complain whenever they face problems and same time BMTC to take action against these peopple .

If we have trouble we only have to find the solution. If we will just leave it thinking that they are small things and doesn't make any difference then we are making a big mistake because these small things only become one day a big corruption.

            BMTC — Not giving changes

            Dear sir.

It is very worst character that BMTC bus conducters are following now a days, they are not giving us change for RS.20 and so on.if they have it also they are not ready to give change. it is more than 5th time i am facing this problem from them. even if we ask also they will tell they do not have change.. please give us correct justice. we cannot argue with them for long time for change. please guide them in proper way or just give them swap card system. so if they will not find change we ll swap our card for exact change..

            Thanks

7.30 AM onwards it is peak time for bangalore traffic. And most of the daily commuters who are travelling far distance has taken volvo monthly pass of 1500 ruppes. paying this much amount is fine only. But people should get the facility which they are charged. There are very less number of buses with less frequency in out outring road. Need to wait for one ITPL bus for 10 to 15 mins. and again stand for almost 2 hours with fully packed bus. People are not able to stand also comfortably. Please incease the frequency of busues during peak hours. morning 7.30 to 9 atleast. and evening from ITPL also after 7 there is very less number of buses. all are standing for the entier distance.

                Bus No. - 210P
                Route - Chikkalsandra to Majestic
                Time - 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM
Subject - Uncultured behaviour of the lady conductor

I, a 60 year old senior citizen boarded this bus from Chikkalsandra today 23/07/2012 between 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM. Paid Rs. 10/- to the conductor for ticket. She gave me Rs 5/- back. When I asked for the ticket she moved on. I thought she would come back and give me the ticket and the change but what turned out was a rude awakening.

The ticket collecting squad entered the bus and started checking the tickets. They came to me and asked for my ticket. I told them whatever happened. The conductor came and started abusing me in front of the squad. She said I did not ask for the ticket and abused me with unparliamentary words. She also threatened me of SLAPPING! The squad was just mum on the whole matter! How ridiculous?

Is this how senior citizens or public in general are treated? There is nobody to take actions against such incidents?

Hi, Today while driving on a bike from Marthahalli to HAL, One of the bus driver (Bus number KA-57 F-106) was blocking me while overtaking the bus.
This is on 15th Jul 2012 at around 4 PM asjacent to HAL airport road.
Bus stopped to get pasanger, where there was no bus stop, and was tried to overtake with the speed between 25-30Kms, but the bus driver started to pick up and blocked me such that it could have hit my bike and I could have died in that accident as divider is there on the road and it would have crushed my bike and I could have come below bus,
Second time he gave the space for overtake and when I was half way again he did the same thing.

I would like to submit attempt to murder charges on the driver of that bus.

If you need more information please send a mail to gautam.[protected]@gmail,com.

                    Thanks and regards,

I am travelling everyday in volvo buses mostly 500c. and i saw the all volvo buses drivers in running the radios in high sound and so many times i requested to drivers to reduce the sound so all the drivers was saying i[censored] want to silence so u book the a/c car and go. in this topic so many times argue with drivers because all the people thinking relaxed in a/c buses but their drivers create a nucence as per my knowledge how to give a permission by government because in public places how to create a nucence because public places and public vehicle or public property to totaly restricted for noice pollution so i am requesting to chief minister to immediately pass the order to bmtc to remove all radios and dvd players.thanks in advance.

                        Dear sir,
My daughter studying in vijaya college jayanagar 3rd block and residing at SG palya, boarding stop( christ college) ,has BMTC student concession bus pass where the change over place has been mentioned as wilson garden, since the direct buses are less frequent.

but when she gets a direct bus the conductors are not allowing her with out a ticket since she has mentioned the change over place as wilson garden and they behave rudely towards many students who travel in the same route .
the students are asked to get down the bus in the middle of the road.

I am Naga, working in Cognizant Technology Solutions as Associate Software Engineer, Manyata Tech Park, Nagawara, Bangalore. On 16th June, around 1:20 PM I got into the bus with registered number KA01FA2063 with service number 270S in Shivaji Nagar bus stand. First he didn’t allow me to get into the bus from front door, with drivers involvement I got into the bus. After getting in he sat at front seat which is allocated to physically challenged seat like me as enclosed in the attachment. After requesting as well he told me to go back side even after conveying that I am physically challenged. Generally any physically challenged passenger sits at front side due to following reasons
                          1) Driver has more focus on the front door rather than back door while moving/stopping the bus.
                          2) Its very tough for any physically challenged to come from back side to front door due to heavy crowd.
Generally though it will be mentioned as ‘Physically Challenged’ notice in the bus normal people will be sitting and they won’t give as seat after repeated requests. Now if bus conductor itself violates the rule, there might be a chance where other conductor also follows the same. So please kindly take the action as per the norms to save physically challenged people like me by providing the applicable facilities. I am sending the conductor photo as enclosed in the attachment for clear identification. Awaiting for your assistance.

                            Hi,

The Bus Driver and Conductor of a C-18 bus (KA01 F4569) simply refused to stop at HBR bus stand. They did not hesitate to pick up passengers even when it is not a stop, but refused to stop at HBR Layout bus stand (near 4th Block on ORR). They asked me to show the board for the bus stand. I know the board was there till sometime back but was blown away in a storm. Even if there is no board (and not many stops have boards), they cannot refuse to stop at a designated bus stand. Their behavior was also demeaning and insulting. They were shouting and making derogatory remarks.

Please take appropriate actions and also put up a board on the bus stop, if it is all that important.

I am sidhartha, while coming today[protected] morning I boarded the bus (Route no -356) from Rupena Nagrahara.Due to the Rush in the entrance I went inside and was waiting for the conductor to collect the ticket but the conductor didn't come to collect the ticket and in the next stop Bomana Halli BMTC authority persons entered to check the ticket since I didn't have the ticket they asked me to give the 10 times the actual ticket amount.Still it was not my fault but they forced me to pay the amount, since it was conductor's fault. After they provide me the chalanI asked them to provide the name to whom I can concern for there actions but they behave rudely with me.They told me they can't give me the full name of the person.

Since I am a citizen of India and I am paying all the taxes so I have the rights to ask questions because I am paying the fined amount.
Because of the negligence of conductor and behaviour of those BMTC people I had mentally harassment.

Could you please let me know for such cases why the person will punished and if they consider it as also conductor's fault what kind of action they will take.

I am 27 year old female working as a software engineer in a reputed company and daily for going to office I would be taking BMTC volvo bus .
However today 8/June /2012 9:00 am I had a very bad experience with the same .

The bus was standing near to the pick up point from where I usually take the bus by the time I reached there it started moving so I ran and went near the standing bus as the signal was red however the Bus conductor said NO from opening the door and letting me inside .
He told very rudely to come to the next stop it was such bad that in middle of traffic I was standing and asking him to open the door .
Luckily me n my husband were having car so he took me to the next stop there when I boarded the same bus , I asked the driver why he didn't open the door . The moment I asked that conductor started shouting at me and spoke bad words which were quiet humiliating for me in public . That too since he was speaking in his local language which of course I don't understand so I answered him in my language to which he again started shouting and abusing .

Later I saw that both driver and conductor were stopping the bus whenever they wanted even if it was not a bus stop to stuff in more people .
They kept stuffing people , till the extent the door will have issues in closing .
Also that bus conductor whatever his name was misbehaving with other fellow passengers as well .

Since I was getting late for work I couldn't afford to get down and take another bus . However the whole incident was very depressing and I felt that in my country is it a crime to question for what is wrong .

I would really request the concerned authorities to take actions against such people , else they think they can do whatever and however they feel as nobody is there to question them .
Following are few details which can help to track those people :-

                                Volvo Bus number : KA 01 F 8833
Place : OLd airport road , opposite to TOTAL MALL
                                Time : 9:00 am
I boarded the bus for route 356C from Bommanahalli on 24-Dec-2012 at around 10:30AM. Bus Vehicle No KA01 FA 1927. I asked for corporation circle ticket, bus conductor said Rs35/- then he asked me where exactly I want to go, I said Halasuru gate police stn., he said you have to take Rs40/- ticket to Maharani college. I argued that I have taken corporation circle tickets in the past for the same route but he said I can either buy till Pallavi Theater or till Maharani Col. The conductor misbehaved and abused me. When the bus came near the corporation circle bus conductor asked me to get down. I asked the conductor why they did not give me same stoppage ticket. The bus driver and conductor started laughing and making fun of me, and gestured me to get down. This is very disappointing experience for me.

I want to address this issue, Bus conductors are always demanding change money - to so much extent that whatever change we get from other purchases, is flushed out by the BMTC bus conductors.

There is never a situation where the conductor is ready to give back the change. They act very rudely with the passengers especially this Volvo bus conductors. Many instances, conductor stays unaffected telling that he cannot give back the change because he does not have it. He shows his collection purse when he would always have in his personal box.

By the way, Bangalore never gets to see 1 Re, 2 Re and 5 Re coins. There is so much shortage that it is always an issue of getting the correct amount back after on cash purchase. Where does these coins go despite RBI continuously sending message to the public that there is no shortage.

Then what is the real reason for the shortage in Bangalore. Can you do something in this regard

                                        Dear Sir,

I am an IT employee regularly travelling by BMTC Volvo (Vajra) from ITPL, Whitefield to RMZ ECO SPACE at Bellandur. The fare is Rs.35 for the above mentioned route. Everytime I pay this fare. Today(28/05/2012) something unexpected happened. I boarded a 500NA (Route : ITPL > Central Silk Board) with registration no. KA 01 FA 2367 at around 12:50 p.m.. I gave Rs.100 as I did not have change. The conductor gave me two tickets of denomoitons Rs.30 (Ticket no. KZ2 006859)and Rs.5 (Ticket no. H[protected]. As is the regular practice the conductors used to write at the back of the ticket the change that I am to receive. The same happened today also but I have not checked it as there has not been any wrong doing in that till date. Suddenly I checked the ticket and found out that he has written Rs.15 at the back. I called him up and asked him why he has written so when I have given him Rs.100. He argued with me and said that I have given him Rs.50 only and not Rs.100. I told him that why should I lie about Rs.50 but he continued to argue and told me to check my wallet as I have given him only Rs.50 and not Rs.100. I still have those tickets. I have not taken any change back from him as he had made me a liar infront of all others. Please do act on these as this is not only about cheating me for the change but also making me a liar infront of every other passenger.

                                        Regards,
                                        Arnab Chowdhury.
