This is with regard to the misconveying of information from customer services exectives from Barclays Timescard.They fradulently charge you with an amount of 6742 Rs without even verifying whether you need this service -some kind of priority service.When you call the helpline you are put on hold(20 mins) and after a long time when a customer service executive answers your query they give you another number to call.When you call the other number (10:00 AM)they are not available and the machine keeps on repeating "Our executives are not available .Your call is important to us" even though the customer services are from 9:30 to 6 .Then they say we need to verify and please call after 72 hrs.I ask them that the information was not conveyed to me regarding charges applicable and atleast you need to verify whether I need this service.Then I ask them to reverse it stating I dont need any kind of such service.They say we will check and then if it is valid then you will to Pay the amount.I also mailed to so called [protected]@barclay.com but i did not receive any reply.I do not wish to enroll into any kind of priority service and I need the amount to be reversed as soon as possible.Also I am willing to file a legal complaint regarding the same.
I expect a prompt reply regarding the same .

    Hi,
    I have applied for Credit card from www.deal4loans.com & then i got the call from Barclay Bank.Saying you wil get the card with 20 days, same i got the Card.But when i try to use the card, its given declined error.

    Called customer care of Barclay Bank to check the activation of this card.

    As per them i have applied for twice time, due to that they have not activated my card.

    I am having only one question, then what make sense of sending Card to customer?

    Try to contact S.V.Narayan Head of Credit card division.
    But no reposne.

      Dear Sir,
      I am Mallikarjuna Khelgi, Barclay credit card holder since 20th Aug 2008.

      After few days I got a call from Barcaly bank saying that you got holiday package, club for
      selected members like you.Same time I told him that I am not intrested to go to club, holiday etc.
      That time he didnt reveal any cost for this package.I didnot agree to pay any amount.

      But after few days I got sms ie. your barclaycard statement has been generated on 08/11/08 and
      will reach you in the next few days, Total Due:6741.60 DR Min Due:340 and due date is 28/11/08.

      I surprised after reading that sms, how it possible I have not used it at all.

      Then I called customer care regarding this they told me that this amount has been transfered to
      Barclaycard Priority circle.How they can transfer such a bulk amount without my authorisation/without my
      knowledge.I am concerned to Barcaly Bank not Barclaycard priority circle.

      customer care executive saying that
      "Barclaycard priority circle recording conversation over the phone and taking this amount from
      barclay credit card".


      This is the first bank doing such type of business, Barclaycard priority circle belongs to Barclay
      bank itself but different division.

      I am requesting you to please cancel this membership and credit the amount to barclaycredit card.

      Barclay Bank(Credit card division) — Incorrect late fees on my card no:-433948221847436

      I had applied for a card with barclay's bak and the same was recd by me somewhere in the month of March'08. The first transaction that i made on my card was somewhere in the month of March or April for an amount of Rs.535/-.
      Since it was my first billing cycle i was not aware of the due date for my card, and since i did not recieve my first bill for the month, i only came to know about the payment when i recieved a call from barclay's about my outstanding amount.
      I informed the concerned person also that i haven't recd my statement and i immediately went a ndeposited teh amount for my card.
      Since then i have been regularly recieving statements for late fees for my card, i took this matter up with barclays also and informed them about the issue.
      After following up for two months, in the month of Jun i recd a mail from barclays stating that the charges would be revered and the same would be reflected in my next months bill.
      But again the issue remains the same, now the situation is like for the past eight months i am following for this issue and the outsating amount for my card has been increased to 4, 000/- approx.
      not to forget i have also been recieveing numerous calls from the call centre and the IVR also besides uncountable SMS in the same regards.

      It would be really kind of you if you could get me out of this, i want to know what was my fault, was it a crime to apply for a card with barclays, if no then why am i being harrasad like this. each day i recieve atleast two to three calls on an average

      Dear Sir,

      By your April 2009 statement I was entitled to pay an amount of Rs.4, 128.96 and the last date of payment was 9.5.2009. I had sent the said amount on time by Bank of India Cheque drawn on Kalbadevi Branch for Rs.4, 129/- which was duly received by you. In your statement for May 2009, you had demanded late fee for Rs.4, 129/-. On receiveing the statement i had immediately called your Customer Service and apprised correct position to one Miss Kinjal, was on line and she said that late payment amount will be waived If I pay the amount due in May 2009 statement amounting to Rs.514/- in cash. I agreed to her assurance and shesent one Mr Amit Pandey to collect Rs.514/- in cash. I paid the said amount to him and obtained stamped receipt.

      That in your June 2009 statement you have demanded Rs.1, 304.74p as previous balance which includes late fee and interest which is not correct and further you have demanded Rs.100/- cash collecting charges from me, totally amounting to Rs.2, 107.42. I was surprised toget this statement inspite of the fact that you had agreed and assured to waive late payment fee along with interest thereon. After receiving the said statement I again called your Customer Service and one MissArchana Rane was on the line. I explained to her what had transpired between me and miss Kinjal and how Ms Kinjal had assured that late payment fee and interest will be waived on cash payment of Rs.514/-.

      Miss Archana Rane refused to accept that I had communicated to her and insisted that I pay the namount as demanded in the statement which is totally unfair and unreasonable.

      From your records you will find all my dues arepaid in time and the amount due for May 18, 2009 to 19.6.09 is Rs.1, 148/- which I am sending by cheque and in case you insist on your unreasonable demand you are called upon to discontinue my credit card facility forthwith. Further I am not agreed and willing to concede illegal and unreasonable demand.

        Here it’s very clear that there was a huge communication gap in Barclay’s Bank. They could not maintain the customer records properly. Anyway I have replied to this mail on Thu, Nov 13, 2008 at 2:10 AM

        I myself not aware how and when they have charged me for this membership fee. I would like to ask you something "On what basis you have written this mail to me? The content which you have mentioned in the mail is not at all pertinent to my query". If you walk through all my verbal communication (You must have the recorded call) or mail communication in that I have clearly stated that "How they have charged me without my permission for this membership? I could somehow guess how they have done these tricks!!! That's the reason I was asking you to investigate on this matter very seriously and very clear from my end I have never used the word cancellation because if I would have agreed for this membership undeniably I would have placed a request to cancel the membership but here the scenario is totally different... I need an answer from your Bank how and when you have charged me with out my permission"
        Please do reply to this mail as early as possible. Henceforth I can not spend my time to check all these kind of mails and reply often. Mark my words "The ball is in your court you have to investigate and provide me the solution". Find out where is the mistake and sue the people whoever played a game from your end in this matter… looking forward your good reply. Take Care

        On the other hand everyday I am getting a call from Barclay’s Bank following department:
        1. Collection Department
        2. Confirmation Department
        3. IVR Calls
        4. SMS to my mobile number –[protected]
        Every time I was explaining them about the issue/problem they said they are recording the call but again and again I am getting a call even today and they are asking me the question when I asked them to check my previous call or mail communication. They are saying very coolly they don’t have any records. So you please help me on this issue this is my very kind request now a days I am mentally very upset due this people.
        Very importantly today (19-Nov-08) I have received a message (SMS) from Barclay’s Bank which is stating that “Please pay the amount due on Barclaycard to avoid defaults. A poor CIBIL score can deny you credit cards & loans in future.
        Why the word “Defaults” as come into picture against me. The mistake was not from my end I have kept my word and paid the entire amount but now they are blaming me please guide and help me to come out of this issue.

        I have taken a loan amount of Rs.73, 400 – Seventy Three Thousand Four Hundred Only through Barclay Credit Card. Where the executive promised me the interest rate of 12 % (Flat Rate) so I have agreed the loan amount but after I have received the letter from Barclay Credit Card I have noticed that Flat rate of interest per annum they have mentioned 17 % which made me very upset and I immediately called them and enquired about that but they gave me very simple answer “SORRY”. Why they are not thinking the word “Sorry costing me 5 % extra interest rate every year”. On the other hand I was requesting them at least to pre-close my loan amount immediately they said okay and they asked me to wait for 7 working days. I have arranged some money from other bank and my friends circle to pre-close this Barclay Credit Card loan immediately but I have not received any call from Barclay’s Bank so I have called them again to get the status they said your request is still in process and your credit card bill statement has been generated for that month so they asked me to pay my first month EMI amount and within few days you will get a call from our bank and they will give the complete details of your outstanding I have agreed that and paid my EMI amount. They asked me not to pay the entire amount without approval from the bank that’s why I was waiting to get the approval. Believe me after that every week I used to call him to get the approval but not even one time they give me the proper detail I was waiting, waiting very long time days were running my statement getting generated every month and I was paying my EMI amount without fail. At last one day I called them and explained everything very clearly and I requested them to record my call also and I asked them the outstanding amount they have told me something around Rs.72, 000 . Immediately I have paid the entire amount without any due. But now they have started playing with me I have received my statement which is stating that I need to pay Rs.12, 000 I really surprised and shocked now how they are charging this amount when I have checked with them they said you are approved for Barclays Priority customer so one time charge is Rs.5, 000 and you have crossed your credit limit so you have to pay the balance amount of Rs.12, 000 immediately.

        Here I request you to check this matter very seriously because they are charging me Rs.5, 000 and other amount without my permission (It is really frustrating me that they have deducted money from credit card without my concern) I am really affected very badly due to this issue. Is this my fault? I was ready to pay the entire amount but they were not ready to provide me the details and made me deceive. You will not believe I used to call them every week to get the approval. I kept my word I have paid the entire amount but they are not keeping the promise start from the beginning. So I request you to please help me to get out of this issue.

        Hi,

        This is rizwana i am using barclay credit card since april 2008. In the month of april i swiped my credit card in GOLDQUEST INTERNATION COMPANY. I am suppose to receive the product. In the month of May 2008, SouthIndia became a big problem, that the Goldquest company is a close and they have cheated many people. Even i too paid Rs. 29, 460 from my barclay credit card.

        Even my friend is also joined in the same and paid the paid, once the she came to know that the company is a fake company then she called up HDFC and asked for reveised payment. HDFC bank enquired and they reveised the payment in her card.

        So, My question is after calling customer care executives, i requested them that this is unauthorized payment and the amount need to be reveised. But there is no step taken up.

        Regulary i am receiving call for the payment. I am ready to pay the interest for the amount which is swiped but i cant pay the full amount. It is unauthorized payment, you people need to reveised that amount into my card.

        If any quires related to that new, you can verify.

        I am expecting positive reply from you.

        Now a days I am getting calls again and again from your collection department. I don't know why you guys are not understanding the fact. Please give me the explanation (Thru mail - Written Communication) and then call me.

        Please don't call me again from your collection department and please don't ask me the same question. I was giving you the answer for the past 6 months. Really fed up with you people,

        This is with reference to all my previous mail and verbal communication regarding payment issue (I have attached below mails for your reference) I would like to know about the message (SMS) on 29-Dec-08 I have received from Barclays which is stating that "Your payment is due on 01-Jan-09 Total: Rs.6852.62". Could you please tell me how you have calculated this amount. For your kind information I have taken the loan from your bank and as I have mentioned in the following mails and verbal communication to your "Customer Service Executives, Collection Department Executives and Confirmation Department Executives" many times I have paid the entire amount after that I have not used your Barclays card anywhere.
        Since there was all the mistakes on your side you guys made me exasperate with regard to Barclays Priority Circle and at last you have revised some charges (I really appreciated) after a long conversation and lots of mental torcher. But you guys not given me any proper response or feedback why it has happened and how the mistake was happened. If you gone thru all my mail and verbal communication I have made a call to your customer service many times and filed a complaint but no use.
        Anyway I request you to please send me the proper explanation of "Barclays Priority Circle" issue first then you have give me the breakup of Total: Rs.6852.62 how and what basis you have charged this amount. Until and unless I get a clear explanation from your bank I don't want to receive any call your collection department. This is a very serious issue please don't take this matter just like that.

        Very importantly today (19-Nov-08) I have received a message (SMS) from Barclay's Bank which is stating that "Please pay the amount due on Barclaycard to avoid defaults. A poor CIBIL score can deny you credit cards & loans in future.
        Why the word "Defaults" as come into picture against me. The mistake was not from my end I have kept my word and paid the entire amount but now they are blaming me please guide and help me to come out of this issue.

        This is with reference to all my previous mail and verbal communication regarding payment issue (I have attached below mails for your reference) I would like to know about the message (SMS) on 29-Dec-08 I have received from Barclays which is stating that "Your payment is due on 01-Jan-09 Total: Rs.6852.62". Could you please tell me how you have calculated this amount. For your kind information I have taken the loan from your bank and as I have mentioned in the following mails and verbal communication to your "Customer Service Executives, Collection Department Executives and Confirmation Department Executives" many times I have paid the entire amount after that I have not used your Barclays card anywhere.
        Since there was all the mistakes on your side you guys made me exasperate with regard to Barclays Priority Circle and at last you have revised some charges (I really appreciated) after a long conversation and lots of mental torcher. But you guys not given me any proper response or feedback why it has happened and how the mistake was happened. If you gone thru all my mail and verbal communication I have made a call to your customer service many times and filed a complaint but no use.
        Anyway I request you to please send me the proper explanation of "Barclays Priority Circle" issue first then you have give me the breakup of Total: Rs.6852.62 how and what basis you have charged this amount.         Respected Sir,
        I was working with barclay card insurance (DSA) past 9 months, and i was a performer over there,
        the issue is i have met with an accident and i need to repay the amount which i had borrowed from my friends for the operation.But the HR team working over there is least bothered about my problem and i m facing a critical problem because i m in need of money, and the HR team havent gave me any of my incentives cheque of this 9 months, where the amount goes beyond 15, 000 Rs and I very well know how the agent work and sells the products in that call centre,
        All these things are forcing me to raise my voice in Consumer Court where the standard of the bank would be lost if i would file a single complaint.
        So, I request u to look seriously on this matter as i m in need of amount of my own hard work
        or ELSE i would be forced to take a wrong step.

          Hi,
          Today I spoke with one of the barclays customer service representative her name is kalpita and the service which i received was nothing but pathetic, the kind of language spoken by the rep was Rude, Harsh and very unprofessional.
          It was regarding my barclays times card. the issue was not resolved and when i ask the rep to hand over the call to floor manager, she just denied to it, when i ask her to hear the recording of my previous call she said we dont have such recordings. although there IVR says that every call has been recorded.
          when I ask her to launch an investigation she said that it will take 20 to 25 days and there is no point doing it. so the service was nothing but cheap.

            I am a Barclaycard holder (CARD NO: 4339 *** 3644) was offered an invitation to priority circle membership which according to my understanding was offered FREE of Cost and never mention any charge being debited my account. More over he told me that they would be sending the details within 15 days and after reading the full details you can decide to sign it and send the form to their Mumbai office. But I did not get any mail from the Bank till the date.
            Now they have debited my Credit card account a total amount of 6741.60 (Rs. 6000/- as Priority Circle fee plus Service Tax of Rs. 741.60/-) and sent a statement dated on 19-Nov-2008 to my email id and through postal also. This amount is debited without any confirmation from the me.
            I replied to the [protected]@barclaycard.com on dated. 25.11.2008 for reversing the amount but there is no reply till the date.
            I have contacted the Customer Service care No.[protected] and requested to REVERSE the amount. They wanted the information about my Card no, Date of Birth, Address and Mobile Number and told their Bangalore Customer care N0.41739811. I have contacted the Customer Service care No in Bangalore 41739811 three times. They are telling that they are unaware of this and they don’t have the provision to cancel this. Also they are not telling the official address of the Customer care service in Bangalore.
            At last, I sent one courier to their Nariman point address by stating to reverse the amount. But no response from their side.
            In this regard I am requesting Consumer complaints officials should take actions against BARCLAYCARD priority circle on this issue.
            Please help me to reverse the amount from my account.

            I was the victim of same fraud..
            Just register the online complain on Consumer forum site and RBI site.
            I did the same and they have reversed all BPC charges along with late fee within 15 days.
            This is the only legal way to fight with these .calling to them and mailing to them is useless ..
            I took a Braclays Credit Card number 4339 xxxx xxxx 8641 in month of July 2008 and made my first transaction in month of October 2008. In the month of November 2008, I received a bill from Barclays Credit Card division of Rs 11, 796.10. However to my surprise, apart from the routine transactions, I had done, there was an extra bill of Rs 6, 000 along with service tax of Rs 741.60. I called them and gave a complaint that I have not asked for this. On this, the representative attending my call told that you can pay the balance (excluding the Priority Circle bill and Service Tax) and they will send the complaint and get back to me later.

            However, there was another bill in December 2008 of Rs 7, 359.20. When I called customer care, they told that this is for the Priority Circle due which I am supposed to pay. I asked them that in past their representative had told me to pay the balance and they will get back to me, however none of them got back to me and now I get this bill with an interest on it and that too for the transaction I had not committed to pay. Based on my complaint, he asked me to contact Priority Circle Branch in Hyderabad and gave me their contact number[protected].

            When I called up the Priority Circle number in Hyderabad, they said that it cannot be reversed. I informed them that I cannot pay for the transaction which I had not done. I spoke to the senior officials too in the Priority Circle in Hyderabad; however they expressed their inability to reverse it. I asked them their address of Priority Circle in Hyderabad, so that I can talk to them directly, they expressed their inability to give it. I tried calling several times to customer care as well as Priority Circle, but the reply was same and none of them were willing to give their address or helping to reverse the amount. I also send a complaint to [protected]@barclays.com / [protected]@barclays.com however none of them reverted back to me on this issue.

            After December 31st, everyday I am getting a call and message on my mobile to pay the amount and I am conveying them that I am not going to pay for the transaction I have not done, however they are not stopping it.

            When I went through the net looking for the Priority Circle address, I could see only complaints and complaints against this Priority Circle of Barclays Credit Card and only people being harassed with it.

            I am really disgusted with this Credit Card from this bank and would like to sue them for billing me wrongly, for mental harassment and disturbing the peace of mind. If there are anyone who would like to join me, send me a e mail.

            Barclay credit card — charged LE fees Unnecessarily

            I have complaint about barclay card,they charged unnecessarily le fees from me from last 4 month.
            In sep.my principal amt.was 1250/- for that amt chque I drop in their chque box ( bhandup station plaza)
            On 22/09/09, but in next statement they charged 700/- late fees. I informed them to their customer care officer on phone, thattime they assured me to Revise this in next month bill, but next month again they charged 1431/- le fees. I again complaints about this but they don't agree for that & drop chque no.563809 on 20th Jan with amt 1431/- in malad drop box. Now this month (feb2010) they send me new bill with amt.2100/- of late fees.
            When I asked him about that they said in chque their was some mistake so that they again chard fine to me. But during this they don’t give me any replay & return that chque, now I am tired about this.
            So, please help me about this issue,

              Sir, i had applied for barclaycard last year but did not receive any card till date. I now received a letter signed by Yogesh Sangle, Director, Credit Card, India stating 'interest rate on your Barclaycard [protected] will be...'. It is a strange!! My address is also written wrong i.e flat no is 271/1 instead of 273/1. on this inland letter card.
              What about my card? Where is it? Is it in use by fraud person? Pl check & confirm me in wrighting so that i shall be tension-free.

                This is Raj having barclay card and my card no. is XXXX XXXX XXXX 2773. At the end of the April i.e, dates in between 25 to 26 th i got a call from your customer service regarding (BARCLAY PRIORITY CIRCLE) life time membership for barclay card. Initially i've said i am interested i came to know the fraud from barclays bank and the same day i've given a call to customer care and said "Please cancel the BARCLAY PRIORITY CIRCLE (life time membership) offer, In reply i got "ur request will be processed with in 4 working days." On 2nd of May they have deducted money from my account which i got in April 8th to May 8th Statement Period. Deducations are as follows:

                Becoz of deducting Rs. 5691.87 amount from my account, my card credit limit was exceeded. They have charged some more amount from my account which i got in May 8th to June 7th Statement period. The total amt needs to be revert back to my account is nearly 8000Rs.
                i've sent a mail to the customer service 19th June 2008 regarding and i've given calls to customer care for nearly 50 times, but any action was not taken till now and always saying that "lodgnin new complaint and ur request will be processed in 4 working days.But there is no response from the barclays bank. It is very bad on that bank. My Sincere suggestion "DON TAKE BARCLAYS CREDIT CARD".. "LIFE IS AARAM WITHOUT BARCLAYS CREDIT CARD".

                Is ther any way to lodge a complait on Barclays Bank to RBI. If anybody know pls help me.

                Barclay Bank — Priority Circle - fraud by Barclay Bank

                Hi,

                Sometime back I got a Barclay card. In the month of October-November, i got some calls from Barclay Bank regarding the "Priority Circle Offer". I never accepted that offer. But in the account statement generated on November 24, 2008 they charged[protected]+741 for tax) in the statement. Since then i am continuously calling the customer care and telling them the issue. They say that they can't take that offer back. How can they impose those charges in such a way ? I am really frustrated with these guys. If these people don't take that amount back, I will be forced to go to the consumer forum.

                In the same forum, I found several complaints for the same issue. If anybody have got solved this problem please lemme know the way.

                I too faced the same problem like this. I am Conquering with them for the past 6 months, they are not at all reversing the amount, and asking for the payment by calling me daily. I need to explain the whole story to them daily. Really it is very much irritating to me. Don't believe the Barclay credit card, don't opt for this.

                  I had a credit card from barclays bank and due to some genuine reasons I failed to pay the outstanding amount on my card, these people have put me in defaulter list in CIBIL and then this craziest story started.

                  I came to know about this only when I applied for a personal loan and it got rejected as my name was appearing as defaulter, I got amazed as I never recived any call or communications from Barclays for payment, I started searching for the options to get the payments made and after several calls to the costumer care one day I received call from collection agency for settlement which I instantly made with an assurance that my records will be cleared in 10 days time and its been over two months now since I am struggling to get my name off it, due to this I am facing lot of difficulties, I have tried everything, sent them mails, which they reply after 13 days, with apologies for not clearing my account on time and reassures again that its cleared now and when i gets that checked, finds it same.

                  I am highly desgusted and really want to go ahead with some legal action against them.

                  Is there any help for I can get from this forum.

                    i am a barclays platinum card holder .i have trapped for priority circle fees. actually in September between 4 to 5 pm i have receieved many calls from barclays priority circle about taking membership for Rs 6000 lifetime fees
                    i had told them to give me some times for think but they told that it was the last day, between the calls due to network problem the communiction was disconnected many times.
                    and finally calls were disconnected prior of finallisation. after that i call to customer care no [protected] and gave them details about calls at 5.30 pm and told them strictly that i am not interested in membership and not to give me membership they assure me that no fees was deducted and they had taken my complaint and assure me that no fees would be deducted for that.
                    after some days when i called to know my total outstanding it was showing that the membership fees Rs 6000 and service charges were deducted on 05/11/2008.since then i had made many complaints even before preparation of march satement but only assurance were given but no action was taken .now i am feeling like in a trap.

                    Barclays Platinum Card — Worst service on the Priority Circle Membership

                    I had in September received a call from Barclay Card customer care division of Delhi and given a wonderful pitch on the Priority Circle Membership. I told the executive that due to financial EMI's that were due for me i wont be able to pay up for the membership though i liked it a lot. On hearing this the executive assured me that if i want the membership fees shall be postponed to my October statement payable in November. I wasnt convinced so i even spoke to a manager at the same office and was re-assured by him. This is when i agreed to the membership. But to my horror i was billed the joining within 10 days on 26th of Sept. Thats when i immediately brought it to the notice of the customer care but they said they cant help me. I told them to check their records and what i found most disgusting was the fact that my conversation with the exec and the manager of assurance of delaying the payment was never there. I was seriously hurt by the false swindling nature of the Barclay service. I immediately logged a complaint and got the membership cancelled within the 21 day window. This was so that i get the charges reversed in my October bill. I confirmed this complaint at least three times with the HQ branch at Chennai. I was even given a reference number[protected]. I spoke to three executives Kapil, Ajay and Himani to confirm that i do not want this membership anymore. After almost a month on 3rd of November i check the status as noone had bothered to confirm to me if the cancellation was done and charges reversed. To my utter shock i again am told that the request is still pending and i shall have to pay the bill this time as well. Due to the whole false promise of delaying the joining charges my September bill was paid late as i had to scatter for the finances to bill the additional Rs 6700 approx joining fees. I paid interest on this as well as Barclay's took 5 days to collect a simple cheque and remit the amount due against it. I had dropped this cheque on 25th at Agra in a Skypak dropbox which was functional 7-days a week with no offs. Still even though the cheque was picked on 25th itself it took barclays nearly 6 days to encash it. They cited reasons as silly as Diwali and Sunday being holidays. I had given them the cheque numbers on 27th itself still they bugged me with almost 50 calls in 4 days uptill 31st to remind me of not having received payment. I was gravely disturbed with the shoddy service standards and insulting means Barclays employed to get their money due. Now when its all done i get back to trhem asking if the Rs 6700/- has been reversed in my October bill, they say due to technical snag they havent been able to. Why should as s customer i suffer because there were nationwide holidays like Diwali etc and the same when it applies to Barclays they say "Oh Sir it was a technical snag...". Somebody please put them to task. I am really grieved over the way i have been handled by them...

                    I have a credit card from Barclays initialy they offered me a credit limit of Rs, 1.2 lakhs now they have chopped to 70k plus.. I have written to them, even to their customer care head. Of sheer waste they dont even bother to respond. And my payment track is upto date without any dues.

                    I advice to all of you never take a Barclays card.Worst customer care.

                      My name is Sumeet Shah. My Barclay card number is [protected].

                      One day I received a call explaining me all the benefits of barclay priority circle and I said that I would be interested and gave my card details.

                      The very next day I called and informed them that I want to see the details first and than if suitable I will go for the membership and pay the maount, for which they agreed. Again after 2 days I called and conveyed the same thing because I feared that they would deduct amount form my account, but they still ocnfimred that they will not deduct any amount.

                      To my shock after 20 days I received my bill and they had already deducted 5000 + 600 (service tax) from my account.

                      It has been 3 months now I am asking them to take away all their gifts and reverse my amount. Even I am charged penalty interest for 2 months which is amounting to Rs. 1200.

                      I am continuously calling barclay card people and priority circle people and aslo sent several letters to them, but both pass the ball in others pocket and no one is ready to help me.

                      I also requested them to check my 2 & 3 rd telephonic converstaion where i strictly infomred not to deduct any amount if i dont agree with the scheme, but always in vain

                      I am not making the payment for the past 2 months and they charge interest every month. My card is suspended and i receive as many as 4-6 calls in a day for the due payment.

                      If this time i am not getting any responce i am sure to take them to the consumer court and will make their life misreable.
                      I stongly support you. Its very disappoint to hear that, Barclays being such a big company is oprating in India in such a cheap standard. I m too facing such situation. I too would do that.

                      In a bill statement generated on November 24, 2008, a charge for Rs 6000+741.60 was added mentioning it as a "BARCLAYCARD PRIORITY CIRCLE FEE". I didn't want that membership. I made the complaint in the regard in the same itself when i recieved the statement. I called at the customer care several times but got no relief.

                      Seeing the poor behaviour of executives, i stopped payment. Now i am getting 10-12 calls everyday and i have told executives that i am ready to make the payment after the reversal of that amount.

                      But still it seems that nobody is taking this seriously. I am feeling harrassed by the behaviour of the executives.

                      Kindly take the immediate action to solve this as soon as possible.
                      I once again iterates that i'll immediately make the payment, once after getting assurance for reversal.

                        Whom so ever it concern,

                        Though i got Barclays gold credit card on June - 2007, I started using it from last 6 months. On September 9th, 2008 i got a call from credit card division regarding the loan at low interest rates against my credit card. Since the interest was low, I accepted the offer and asked them to send a DD to my home address. I was told that i should get DD within 15 working days.

                        As expected OCTOBER 11, 2008 bill statement inlcuded the loan processing Fee as 2160 Rs, but there was no update on DD status from Barclays. So on October 19th, 2008 I called[protected] and asked about the processing Fee and the status of my loan DD and the executive told me like the DD was returned to the company with a reason " Unable to locate the Address". Also he told me that he is going to place a requst and within 10 working days i should get the DD.

                        So on Oct 31st, 2008 I paid my creadit card bill including the processing Fee as well. But by 4th Nov, 2008 also i didn't receive any DD from Barclays, so again called on 4th Nov and talked to Srijith ( Barclays executive) and i was told that the last request which was placed for resending the DD was not happened and he placed a new requst for getting it done. Also i was told that within 4 working days i should get the DD to my address.

                        till today i.e 15th Nov, 2008 i haven't received any DD from Barclays, so again called the same number[protected] and talked to Preethi ( another Barclays executive) and i was really shocked after hearing that my DD was cancelled and nothing can be done now. I was really needed that loan to get few things but all calls went in vain. Somehow i was able to manage the money but if it's happened with someone else who really needed money for some emergency then the situation definitely will be worse.

                        Immeditely this web site came to my mind and thought of placing a compliant on Barclays service team(especially Credit card loan division).

                        Please someone do care about it so that in future another Naresh will not face this issue.

                          had lodged a compalint with barclays bank for a foreign transaction that was shOwing up on my 19th july bill for a foreign transaction done on 23.06.08 as i was not aware of this transaction i called barclays and lodged a comnplain on 1st august they blocked my card and said would investigate the same and revert back in 45 to 60 days its been over 3 months and they have not reverted back i made payments for july and august but did not make a payment for sept as my charges were not reversed i clearly informed them that once charges are reversed with compensation i will clear all the balance but then i started receiving 2 to 3 texts messages for payment reminders a day and also calls and voice messages and have till now received more than 100 texts messages which are saveds in my inbox had also fwd a comaplin e-mail for same (enclosed below) but there was still no revert and now i have people coming to my house for payments and when i call the customer service they have a standard reply that they have forwarded a request and will revert. i do not know how to proceed further and am not even sure if barclays will reverse all the charges with suitable compensation for all the inconvinience they have caused for nearly 4 months now .Please guide me on how should i proceed further

                          I have had barclays gold credit card # [protected] with your company since past 10 months now and with every passing time i have experienced nothing but inconvinience in form of poor customer service.

                          I called your customer service on 1st august regarding a foreign transaction that was showing on my invoice dated 19th July and had queried about all the charges regarding that transaction, i was told that as i was not aware of how the transaction occurred there would be an investigation done immediately and someone from customer service woul revert back with 45-60 days and my card would be suspended immediately to avoid any further misuse, i still went ahead and made the minimum due payment for the july and august dated bill even though my card was still blocked.Then even after 45 days when i did not hear anything from customer service i called up on 3 seprate occasions and enquired about the progress of investiagation as i did not want to pay for something that i have not used and even more so when my card was still suspended, i was informed again that the matter would take up more time and was given a complaint ref # cas160678 its been 3 months now and have not heard anything from your customer service and i am now being harrassed by your collection agency to make the payment on explaining the issue to them i was told that they would get in touch with me within 24hrs after speaking with customer service but every time there is a call made by a new agent who has no clue as to what the previous agent has spkoen to me about and am being harrassed for payments to such an extent that they are calling up twice or even 3 times in a day and as if that is not enough then there are texts reminders and auto calls which do not stop at all. After waiting for nearly 3 months i have now decided that as a comapny if you are not responsible and competent enough to resolve a customer issue for 3 months i will take matters in my own hands by going to print media and if required even to consumer court for justice, I have clearly informed all your agents i have spoken to that i am more than happy to clear all my dues and close the card for good provided if all the charges that have been placed on my invoice in form of foreign transaction, interests on foreign transaction, charges for exceeding card limit, late payments along with justified and suitable compensation has been given to me for all the harrassment i have been put through by your company in past 30 days.I never thought that a brand of such repute would be so irresponsible towards customer issuess and that i would need to take such a step of actually writing a complaint to inform how the company actually works.
                          Would look forward to a positive response within 48hrs from you, failing to which i would pursue the matter with higher legal authority.

Murali Mohan using Barclays credit card No.[protected] I received call from Priority Membership Services Department in July 2008, they told that we are providing Priority membership for all our customers without any charges. But I surprised to receive SMS to pay Rs.6008. Immediately i contacted to customer care and also sent e-mail, they told me to contact Priority Membership Department and I contacted Hyderabad Office, Mumbai Office it is telling that "All our customer care executives are unavailable now please hold for the next available representative" i waited for 1 hour and 2 hours but it is repeating the same and after I contacted again to Customer care they told me that i will forward your request to Priority Membership department. After that I contacted Priority Membership department in September and October 2008 and they registered complaint to cancel the membership and reverse the charges. I have received e-mail on[protected] that as you have not intimated before 21 days, we can't reverse the charges. Please help to get these charges reversed as everyday I am receiving SMS to pay this amount and also phone calls. When I apprise them my standing they say that they will look in to the matter

                            Barclays Credit Card — Membership fee

                            Dear All
                            I got a call from customer care offering a lot of free deals on the credit card.I asked them whether any fees was levied on it to which the person replied no.He told me that I will get a confirmation call to which I will have to said OK thereafter I will be offered a bag on payment of Rs. 150.Now till date nothing has been received by me and the customer care keeps calling me to pay a membership fee Rs. 5000 for the offer.In this regard can somebody advise on the matter.

                            This is to bring to your notice that unfair practices are being used by the representatives (employed/out-sourced) by Barclays.



                            I received a call from one of the reps. sometime in the month of August or early September. The executive stated that an offer was being provided “Absolutely” free of charge by Barclays for Priority Services.



                            Per the information provided I agreed to the same. The shock came when in the month of September when I received my statement there was a DEBIT charged on my card amounting to INR 5000 plus service charges INR 618.



                            I called the customer support and discussed the case but it’s been almost a month back i.e. Week 1 September 08. I have called one too many a times and asked for updates and reversal of the charges as the information provided was “FALSIFIED”. Till date this has not been reverted and nor I have received a call back from anyone on this issue.



                            I have asked them for the Service Request/Complaint number for reference but I have been told that there is no such system at Barclays’ wherein a reference number to any requests is provided.



                            I would request to please look into this matter and have the charges reversed on my Credit Card Number: along with the service tax that has been charged on the same amount.

                            I am Manogn Jagani using Barclays credit card No.[protected] I received call from Priority Membership Services Department, they told that we are providing Priority membership for all our customers without any charges.                             How can these companies go on cheating at such a large scale.

                            Barclaycard is simply a cheater. BPC membership is just a fraud to force upon card users to pay hefty charges. One solution is that you can send your complain to RBI Ombudsman. Visit RBI website for this. For all barclaycard my suggestion is throw this card otherwise sooner or later you will regret.
                            Iam Divakar, i too have been cheated by this junk call saying about some membership and suddenly one day they has deducted some 6000/- from my card, when i contacted the ct care they launched a complaint and asked to cll back after one week, when i called back i get a response that now they cant reverse the amt and cancel the membership charge..it is reticulous debitng money without any prior information and forcinbg us to pay...
                            My advise is dont go for the card .

                            I am one of the Barclays customer earlier My card no .[protected] cancelled and Broken my card into 4 pieces sent back to Mrs. Meera rawat retail Banking cards. Mumbai.
                            I am fed up with their service, when i droped the cheque No.273018 icici bank at par cheque in the hubli skypack drop boxes on 07.03.2008 the due date of my statement was 10.03.2008. the courier person not delivered the cheque in time. then barkley started sending statements that late fees charges continously now it grown like anything around 6500 i continously requesting thru mails and even i spoke to their customer care. they are not responding properly. they are telling you have a due pay money thats all they are not providing any details now continously sms are sending and also calls from collection department they are telling that i am defaulter and complining to CIBIL
                            I request you how to come out of this kindly help me
                            the same problem i am facing with barclays///GOVT please do something for cheating with customer& stop all activitis by BARCLAYS...
                            I am very frusted to this trap. From whom we can take help. I have also same to same situation like Murali Mohan.When they call us to for barcaly Priority cirle invitation they were not told about canlcelation rules and regulatuion. In this fast time many call we recieved in hurry or by chance we were not concentrated on the calls and they assume we are aggree to them and they are directly dudted mony or give charges to our occunt without any information. How it is possible to we cannot do any canelation. There is any law which we were not agree or sighn. How we can fight with this type of gimiks.
                            Please isr there is any legule action is possibel. I am very frusteted to this type of gimmik.
                            YES, same experience with me. we need to go to the consumer court & ask for the compensation from Barclays for the mental harassment they are doing. We need to stand stronger and not to pay any amount towards cheating done by Barclays by forcing the membership of Priority Club

                              Hi,
                              I am suffering from Barclaycard Priority Circle . Actually what happened, I received a call from Barclay from the number[protected] on 27 Sep 2008 and it was told to me that I have been selected in the lucky draw for the following things and that are absolutely free means I will be charged nothing:

                              1) A travel bag worth rupees 2, 000/-

                              2) Travel package

                              3) Cash back on shopping

                              The main point is that I asked again & again during the conversation regarding the charges/fee if any but it was told to me that there is no charges/fee. You have been selected in lucky draw so we want to give these things to you absolutely free so I trust on the same. In the entire conversation, they never told me about the registration fee of Barclaycard Priority Circle that 6, 000/- which I have come to know later when I received my Barclaycard E-statement. Now according to Barclaycard E-statement total due at my end is: 7253.65 (Including interest + Service Tax).

                              So I am really helpless now. Please suggest me how I can come out of it?

                                This is to complaining you that since 8 months I am holding Barclay credit because of their regular calls and saying that its life time free credit card and all, they have issued the card with out my approval after three months, Just one month back I have received a message which is stating that this month statement has been dispatched, I was shocked at that moment, because I was not at all using the card, they have send me 9948.00 bill, at that time I called to customer care and I complaint that I am not responsible for that transactions. They said that they will investigate and get back after 45 working Days, since 4 days I am receiving blank calls and recorded call from Barclay credit card.

                                It's a foolish bank. They don't have minimum of common sense they are not even listing our words, simply they are saying you have outstanding balance of 9948.00 that's it.

                                I have already complaint that I did not perform any transactions and also I am not at all responsible for the transactions, even then they are keep on calling. I think this Barclays credit card employees are all brain less people. Actually I don't know how and where I need to comply on Barclay credit card, if know I would be complaining on those fellows.

                                please let me know where i need to lodge a complaint on those bloody fellows.

                                I agree with the person. This is the biggest cheater of all the card issuers. they have such poor service and cheting attitude.

                                  I, (Mr. Jagadish Aiholli.) hereby informed that my Barclaycard no is [protected]. I had received call from 022 code for payment issues . Many times such calls are coming but due to charges,
                                  The worst System and Service eversince I have heard is followed by Barclay Card. They ask me to make my payment through a cheque in the name of "Barclaycard PLC" and the CCno behind and to put in a rusted trash box like drop box situated in some petty shops in pune . Even though I made a payment which was reflected in my Bank account but was not accounted in Barclay's Card account. The very fine next day people from So called BarclayBank's customer service asked about the outstanding which i made. They irritated me to the core by calling more than 10 times a day followed by an SMS stating that i have not paid my due. Those person who asks me, never update what i tell in their system and so for every call i have to tell the whole story with proof.
                                  I also sent many mails clearly mentioning to cancell my card to barclaycard.[protected]@Barclays.net.in on Wednesday, 18 June, 2008, 2:50 PM and on Monday, 23 June, 2008, 4:50 PM


                                  Till now I dint get any response from their side but could get irritating calls and SMS. After a long struggle I somehow made to understand an Collection executive about my issues. That fine Gentleman is no position to explain how we could resolve the issue
                                  Its easy for me to take them in Consumer Court with my valuable evidence which i gonna do it within few days.
                                  I am requesting you to please cancel my Barclaycard I am not interested in it at the cost they are asking for &I will not pay any charges.

                                    Sir,

                                    I am the customer of your Barclay card having card no [protected], I am totally fad up by your CCR’s because there is no single & stable wording of customer care representative of Barclays. They are not for the custmer, they are trained go get payment from the custmer in any way without solveing or hearing the issues they have thats why the custmer ignore the phone call made by them.

                                    I have two issues with you

                                    I received a call from your customer care on near about 20th may that your outstanding is "18000" we converted it into reducing EMI of 1757. You have to give a cancel cheque and signed a ECS form. I ask for the coming payment on due date she said not to pay & your card going blocked if you need card you can apply another card.
                                    After 2-3 days person come and collected the cancel cheque and signed the ECS form and he also told me there is no need to pay the coming installment. Then I clarify with your Gurgaon customer care they assure the same.

                                    I didn’t receive any statement from your side last month and not for this month. After arguing many times with your CCR send me the statement and solve the above issue I will pay the payment & every CCR assure me to send the statement. When i complaint for the statement (ref no. 1795621) on 4-5th June, then I receive the statement of April-may on 22nd June in night.
                                    In between near about 20-25 CCR force me to paid the payment, I always told them to solve the above issue but no one solve it not a 1 percent, always says first pay the payment. Nobody wants to listen the problem of the customer. And I think that there is no coordination between your any CRS, they didn’t update anything which the customer says to them every time i have to discuss same issue with every CCR who call to me. We have to repeat every time same thing to every CCR.

                                    I receive the April-May statement on 23rd so I paid it through net banking on 24th June and the details are below.

                                    I will pay the latest month amount when I receive the statement, and it would be without any plenty because your CCR made me confuse and lack of statement.

                                    If this is the way to treat the customer then I will be grateful if you block my card so there would be no relation in future with Barclays. Requesting you stop all the account and to verify the amount used and paid to you. In future I will never refer in my circle to carry Barclays card only because of Customer Care.

                                      Dear Sir, I am using barclay card no.[protected].I have not recieved card statement for the month of september, 2008 and october, 2008.I have paid the bills according to mobile message from [protected].According mobile message priority circle membership fee charged in bill which is Rs.6000(approx.).This is fraud because call center person told me that this is free, he does not told about any type of fee at that time.I have read several such type of complaints at this site. So I send an e-mail dated 31.10.08 to [protected]@barclays.com for cancellation of priority circle fee and card stement for the month of september, 2008 and october, 2008.In reference of my above e-mail dated 31.10.08 bank's head service replied me by their e-mail dated 3.11.08 that their correspondance unit will reply me within 5 working days.But I have not recieved any response from correspondance unit.I have recieved mobile message dated 10.11.08 from [protected] regarding card statement for the month november, 2008, in which priority circle fee is not cancelled.So, please take neccessary action regarding card staement and cancellation of fraud priority circle fee.Thanks.
                                      Please dont pay any amount to barclays credit card for Barclays Priority circule.This is fraudulant against which we have to log complaints to consumer forum.

                                      I have received the above statement on Saturday 15th November, 2008. There is a debit entry of Rs.6000/- towards BARCLAYCARD PRIORITY CIRC apart from two debit entries Rs.3000/- towards my actual purchases and Rs.741.60 towards Service Tax on Rs.6000/-.

                                      I have lodged my complaint at your phone Banking Nos. against Barclaycard priority circ which is not been attended to my satisfaction.
                                      I was informed by your executive through Phone that I will be getting a travel bag as a gift without any strings attached. On hearing this as a reciprocal gesture I started to use the card.
                                      At the very first purchase on this card I got shock of my life when Rs.6741.60 is debited to my account.

                                      I appreciate your gesture of gifting a travel bag which is so far not been delivered to me.
                                      Since I have now decided not to utilise this card again, I request you to cancel the said gift (travel bag) and also revert entry of Rs.6741.60 (your charges plus service tax).

                                      I will be making full payment towards my purchase of Rs.3000/- which will square up my account.

                                        I had got a call from Barclay regarding LE menbership and they told me about many offers barclay provided. I had agreed on that on the condition of after receiving the detail terms and condition.
                                        But they have charged me Rs 5000 before providing any detail in written. and the offers they told not mach with the fact so I did not use that card after that.

                                        I had request them to cancel that facilty and amount reversal but they didn't do the same for last six month. For web off I had paid them Rs 400/- and Rs 420/- two times as per telephonic conversation with customar Care for the same. Not get any action need help.
