Im from chennai and more than a month ago i got a call from Barclays Finance for personal loan offer they called me everyday almost for a week and took my documents on 09th december 2008 for processing Application No . B 485242. The Acknowledgement slip says it will reflect in the system within 7 working days and we can call the callcentre for status. Till date ( 03jan2009) nothing is reflecting in their statement. The same problem has happened to some of my friends too.

The agents call the public stating they are the bankers and direct bank employees and take all the documents from us. when we call them they don't even respond or even pickup the call.

Concerned person should take action on the same issue.

who are they to take our documets and signatures in the form and how do we know whether they misuse our documents?

please donot apply for any barclays services at all... they even levy late payment charges which i paid for 23rd nov as their couriers Skypak services had delayed it or the bank did not take the payment they have levied us with Rs.700 + tax as latepayment charges. i have given a complaint for the same but no response on that also. when ever we call them they say it will reflect this time in the statement and next month and so on. but nothing seems to happen.

i wonder are these people making a bankers or decent robberers ????????????

Hi, am manjunath taken loan from barclays finance bangalore rajajinagar branch. by the time of taking loan informed to make ESC date after 5th but they made 3rd of every month becaus usually am getting salary after 3rd of every month. Requesting to change from beging but they saying once done cannot be change and to keep sufficient balance in account. every month am paying with extra amount Rs 250 along with my EMI amount. Please tell me is barclays finance is collecting extra amount as per rules ? becaus i have loan in other bank also where no extra amount is collecting from even if i pay after date also. Really Barclays finance is not good. Now barclay finance is demanding to pay Rs. 550 extra for collecting EMI which is not correct. I have taken 24 month tenure and finished almost 18 EMI's.
Please give some suggetion.

    This is Ashfaq Ahamed my credit card no is [protected]. As i mentioned above that some telemarketing executive has called me and told the benifits of the program which is entirly changed after activation of the program, I clearly ask the executive who has called me and he told me that after this, another call will come to you just tell them yes, about the program and i did the same after that, there is no use of this program so please do fever as soon as possible by that i can restart using this card.

      THIS AGREEMENT is made today between Virgin Atlantic Airways UK of the 1st party and you as a 2nd party.
      For good consideration, Virgin Atlantic Airways UK employs the Employee on the following terms and conditions.

      ARTICLE 1: CONTRACT PERIOD
      The contract period shall be for Contract duration: The contract shall last for duration of 60 consecutive months; 5 years and could be renewed based on employee's satisfactory services to the Company.


      ARTICLE 2: SALARY
      Virgin Atlantic Airways UK shall pay Employee on satisfactory performance of the services the sum of (£ 8, 630) Eight Thousand Six Hundred & Thirty GBP Basic (Tax inclusive) MONTHLY. I.e. After Tax.



      Fifty Great Britain Pounds) monthly, equivalent depending on employee's home country.
      The employee will be reimbursed by the employer for reasonable moving expense incurred only as a result of relocation or early termination of leases, storage charges; procurement of travel documents. Reimbursements shall be made before employees embark on journey not later than Five (5) working days after submission of employee's expense report and receipts, this after the acquisition of relevant traveling papers through the assistance of the company's legal adviser on Immigration Matters..
      Employer shall also take care of employees' air ticket including that of employees' family only on employees' early notification to employer and as shall be requested by employee (ONLY TWO FAMILY MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED)

      ARTICLE 3: Duties and Position.
      Virgin Atlantic Airways UK hires the Employee in the capacity of Employee's duties may be reasonably modified at Virgin Atlantic Airways UK discretion from time to time.

      ARTICLE 4: Employee to Devote Full Time to Virgin Atlantic Airways UK.
      The Employee will devote full time, attention, and energies to the business of the Aviation industry, and, during this employment, will not engage in any other business activity, regardless of whether such activity is pursued for profit, gain, or other pecuniary advantage. Employee is not prohibited from making personal investments in any other businesses provided those investments do not require active involvement in the operation of said companies.

      ARTICLE 5: Confidentiality of Proprietary Information.
      Employee agrees, during or after the term of this employment, not to reveal confidential information from rendering any services to any entity to whom said information has been or is threatened to be disclosed, the right to secure an injunction is not exclusive, and the COMPANY may pursue any other remedies it has against the Employee for a breach or threatened breach of this condition, including the recovery of damages from the Employee.

      ARTICLE 6: Disability.
      In the event that the Employee cannot perform the duties because of illness or incapacity for a period of more than 1 month, the compensation otherwise due during said illness. The Employee's full compensation will be reinstated upon return to work. However, if the Employee is absent from work for any reason for a continuous period of over 2 months, the COMPANY may terminate the Employee's employment, and the Virgin Atlantic Airways UK obligations under this agreement will cease on that date.

      ARTICLE 7: Termination of Agreement.
      Without cause Virgin Atlantic Airways may terminate this agreement at any time upon 6 days' written notice to the Employee the Employee will continue to perform his/her duties and may be paid his/her regular salary up to the date of termination. In addition, Virgin Atlantic Airways will pay the Employee on the date of the termination a severance allowance, less taxes and Social Security required to be withheld, without cause, the Employee may terminate employment upon 6 days' written notice to the Employer. Employee may be required to perform his or her duties and will be paid the regular salary to date of termination but shall not receive severance allowance. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this agreement,


      ARTICLE 8: Death Benefit.
      Should Employee die during the term of employment, Virgin Atlantic Airways shall pay to Employee's Next of kin/Family any compensation due through the end of the two months in which death occurred.

      ARTICLE 9: OTHER BENEFITS

      ARTICLE 10: Effect of Prior Agreements.
      This Agreement supersedes any prior agreement between the Virgin Atlantic Airways or any predecessor of the Virgin Atlantic Airways and the Employee, except that this agreement shall not affect or operate to reduce any benefit or compensation inuring to the Employee of a kind elsewhere provided and not expressly provided in this agreement.

      ARTICLE 11: Settlement by Arbitration.
      Any claim or controversy that arises out of, or relates to this agreement, or the breach of it, shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the United Kingdom Arbitration Association. Judgment upon the award rendered may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.

      ARTICLE 12: Severability.
      If, for any reason, any provision of this agreement is held invalid, all other provisions of this agreement shall remain in effect. If this agreement is held invalid or cannot be enforced, then to the full extent permitted by law any prior agreement between the Virgin Atlantic Airways (and any predecessor thereof) and the Employee shall be deemed reinstated as if this agreement had not been executed.

      2. RE-SCHEDULE OR EXTENSION OF JOINING DATE.

      THIS AGREEMENT is made today between Virgin Atlantic Airways UK of the 1st party and you as a 2nd party.
      For good consideration, Virgin Atlantic Airways UK employs the Employee on the following terms and conditions.

      ARTICLE 1: CONTRACT PERIOD
      The contract period shall be for Contract duration: The contract shall last for duration of 60 consecutive months; 5 years and could be renewed based on employee's satisfactory services to the Company.


      ARTICLE 2: SALARY
      Virgin Atlantic Airways UK shall pay Employee on satisfactory performance of the services the sum of (£ 8, 630) Eight Thousand Six Hundred & Thirty GBP Basic (Tax inclusive) MONTHLY. I.e. After Tax.



      Fifty Great Britain Pounds) monthly, equivalent depending on employee's home country.
      The employee will be reimbursed by the employer for reasonable moving expense incurred only as a result of relocation or early termination of leases, storage charges; procurement of travel documents. Reimbursements shall be made before employees embark on journey not later than Five (5) working days after submission of employee's expense report and receipts, this after the acquisition of relevant traveling papers through the assistance of the company's legal adviser on Immigration Matters..
      Employer shall also take care of employees' air ticket including that of employees' family only on employees' early notification to employer and as shall be requested by employee (ONLY TWO FAMILY MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED)

      ARTICLE 3: Duties and Position.
      Virgin Atlantic Airways UK hires the Employee in the capacity of Employee's duties may be reasonably modified at Virgin Atlantic Airways UK discretion from time to time.

      ARTICLE 4: Employee to Devote Full Time to Virgin Atlantic Airways UK.
      The Employee will devote full time, attention, and energies to the business of the Aviation industry, and, during this employment, will not engage in any other business activity, regardless of whether such activity is pursued for profit, gain, or other pecuniary advantage. Employee is not prohibited from making personal investments in any other businesses provided those investments do not require active involvement in the operation of said companies.

      ARTICLE 5: Confidentiality of Proprietary Information.
      Employee agrees, during or after the term of this employment, not to reveal confidential information from rendering any services to any entity to whom said information has been or is threatened to be disclosed, the right to secure an injunction is not exclusive, and the COMPANY may pursue any other remedies it has against the Employee for a breach or threatened breach of this condition, including the recovery of damages from the Employee.

      ARTICLE 6: Disability.
      In the event that the Employee cannot perform the duties because of illness or incapacity for a period of more than 1 month, the compensation otherwise due during said illness. The Employee's full compensation will be reinstated upon return to work. However, if the Employee is absent from work for any reason for a continuous period of over 2 months, the COMPANY may terminate the Employee's employment, and the Virgin Atlantic Airways UK obligations under this agreement will cease on that date.

      ARTICLE 7: Termination of Agreement.
      Without cause Virgin Atlantic Airways may terminate this agreement at any time upon 6 days' written notice to the Employee the Employee will continue to perform his/her duties and may be paid his/her regular salary up to the date of termination. In addition, Virgin Atlantic Airways will pay the Employee on the date of the termination a severance allowance, less taxes and Social Security required to be withheld, without cause, the Employee may terminate employment upon 6 days' written notice to the Employer. Employee may be required to perform his or her duties and will be paid the regular salary to date of termination but shall not receive severance allowance. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this agreement,


      ARTICLE 8: Death Benefit.
      Should Employee die during the term of employment, Virgin Atlantic Airways shall pay to Employee's Next of kin/Family any compensation due through the end of the two months in which death occurred.

      ARTICLE 12: Severability.
      If, for any reason, any provision of this agreement is held invalid, all other provisions of this agreement shall remain in effect. If this agreement is held invalid or cannot be enforced, then to the full extent permitted by law any prior agreement between the Virgin Atlantic Airways (and any predecessor thereof) and the Employee shall be deemed reinstated as if this agreement had not been executed.

      I also got such an offer from Honda Motors, London for the post of Finance Assistant and they are also offering me good salary for this post.       ARTICLE 1: CONTRACT PERIOD
      The contract period shall be for Contract duration: The contract shall last for duration of 24 consecutive months; 2 years and could be renewed only if employer is satisfied with employee's services.

      ARTICLE 2: SALARY
      RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL UK shall pay Employee on satisfactory performance of the services the sum of GBP 6, 200.00(Seven Thousand Two Hundred Great Britain Pounds) monthly, equivalent depending on employee's home country.
      The employee will be reimbursed by the employer for reasonable moving expense incurred only as a result of relocation or early termination of leases, storage charges; procurement of travel documents. Reimbursements shall be made before employee's embark on journey not later than Five (5) working days after submission of employee's expense report and receipts, this after the acquisition of relevant traveling papers through assistance from the United kingdom Travel agents.
      Employer shall also take care of employees' air ticket including that of employees' family only on employees' early notification to employer and as shall be requested by employee.

      ARTICLE 3: Duties and Position.
      RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL UK hires the Employee in the capacity of Employee's duties may be reasonably modified at Hamilton Construction Company UK discretion from time to time.

      ARTICLE 4: Employee
      To Devote Full Time to RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL UK.
      The Employee will devote full time, attention, and energies to the business of HOTEL, and, during this employment, will not engage in any other business activity, regardless of whether such activity is pursued for profit, gain, or other pecuniary advantage. Employee is not prohibited from making personal investments in any other businesses provided those investments do not require active involvement in the operation of said companies.

      ARTICLE 5: Confidentiality of Proprietary Information.
      Employee agrees, during or after the term of this employment, not to reveal confidential information from rendering any services to any entity to whom said information has been or is threatened to be disclosed, the right to secure an injunction is not exclusive, and the HOTEL may pursue any other remedies it has against the Employee for a breach or threatened breach of this condition, including the recovery of damages from the Employee.
      1month at full pay.

      ARTICLE 6: Disability.
      In the event that the Employee cannot perform the duties because of illness or incapacity for a period of more than 1 month, the compensation otherwise due during said illness. The Employee's full compensation will be reinstated upon return to work. However, if the Employee is absent from work for any reason for a continuous period of over 2 month, the HOTEL may terminate the Employee's employment, and the RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL UK obligations under this agreement will cease on that date.

      ARTICLE 7: Termination of Agreement.
      Without cause. Our HOTEL may terminate this agreement at any time upon 6 days' written notice to the Employee. If the HOTEL requests, the Employee will continue to perform his/her duties and may be paid his/her regular salary up to the date of termination. In addition, the HOTEL will pay the Employee on the date of the termination a severance allowance, less taxes and Social Security required to be withheld, without cause, the Employee may terminate employment upon 6 days' written notice to the industry. Employee may be required to perform his or her duties and will be paid the regular salary to date of termination but shall not receive severance allowance. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this agreement,
      (a) The sale of substantially all of the HOTEL assets to a single purchaser or group of associated purchasers; or
      (b) The sale, exchange, or other disposition, in one transaction of the majority of the Construction industry outstanding corporate shares; or
      (c) The RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL UK decision to terminate its business and liquidate its assets;
      (d) The merger or consolidation of RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL UK with another HOTEL.
      (e) Bankruptcy or chapter 11 reorganization.

      ARTICLE 8: Death Benefit.
      Should Employee die during the term of employment, RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL UK shall pay to Employee's Next of kin/Family any compensation due through the end of the two months in which death occurred.

      ARTICLE 9: OTHER BENEFITS

      ARTICLE 11: Settlement by Arbitration.
      Any claim or controversy that arises out of or relates to this agreement, or the breach of it, shall be settled by arbitration in accordance with the rules of the United Kingdom Arbitration Association. Judgment upon the award rendered may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.

      ARTICLE 12: Sever ability.
      If, for any reason, any provision of this agreement is held invalid, all other provisions of this agreement shall remain in effect. If this agreement is held invalid or cannot be enforced, then to the full extent permitted by law any prior agreement between the RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL United Kingdom (or any predecessor thereof) and the Employee shall be deemed reinstated as if this agreement had not been executed.

      ARTICLE 13: Assumption of Agreement by Company's Successors and Assignees.
      The RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL rights and obligations under this agreement will inure to the benefit and be binding upon the Hamilton Construction successors and assignees.

      ARTICLE 14: Oral Modifications Not Binding.
      This instrument is the entire agreement of the RADISSON AND SAS HOTEL UK and the Employee. Oral changes have no effect. It may be altered only by a written agreement signed by the party against whom enforcement of any waiver, change, modification, extension, or discharge is sought.

      ARTICLE15: VISA, WORK/RESIDENCE PERMIT
      Employee shall in no circumstance ask the Travel Agent to deduct the paper works fee for visa, work/resident permit papers from their first month salary. Note that the first month salary, flight ticket as well as other monetary benefits will be issued to employee only when they must have procured the visa, work/resident permit papers from the Travel Agent here in United Kingdom where we have signed a contract agreement for easy acquisition of employee traveling document as readiness by employee to join the team for the recruitment project.         This is with reference to my credit card statement registered on my name PRADEEP KRISHNA GHADIGAONKAR Card number [protected]
        3to 4 months back, I got a call from Barclays office and they offered me the membership of Priority Circle at no cost whatsoever. They also informed me about the benefits of the membership. I also asked them whether there are any charges for the membership, whether annual or one time or joining and they informed me that there are no charges for the membership and it is absolutely free.

        When i got my bill for the month the statement says "BARCLAY CARD PRIORITY CIRC" and have been charged Rs 5000 . The said charges are totally unacceptable and I have not agreed for any such charges. The telephonic transcript would prove that at the time of announcement of the offer, it was told to me that there are no charges for priority circle membership. One may listen to conversation available
        with the bank's records. This is a serious case of mis-selling as I wasn't informed of this charges. I tried contacting you but I wasn't able to talk to anyone as the line was busy all the time.

        When contacted their call center they divert us to a priority call center which is handled by very unprofessional and un courteous executives.         Exactly the same has happened with me too. They have generated a bill with 6700/= ... and the due date is on 25th nov. I have written a mail for cancellation and talked to them on fone also. But they are not aggreeing for cancilation (on fone). . . Should i pay the bill? can anyone suggest. Please advise me.

        Exactly same thing has happened with me as well. A person from Barclay called me up he offered me Barclay's Priority Circle scheme. He explained everything but he never informed me about the charges. Now two weeks ago suddenly i got a bill of Rs6741 from the Barclay credit cards deptt.         I, Vikram Bandodkar also been trap of the barclays priority cirle credit card membership charges. My complain as exactly same as the above state by Mr. RamaKrishnan.

        Barclays credit card has been cheated me by hiding the information of the membership. I have already informed customer care that I wont be paying anything for this membership which was not told to me at the time of the joining.

        I request you to take action against them as many people will fall trap to this.

        I am also facing the same problem. The officer explained only about free gift and offers but nothing about activation charges. I have already send three mails regarding this to both their service and headservice mail ids. But no reply yet except one acknowledgement mail.         I agree with Mr. Ramakrishnan. The same case happens to me also. Barclay Credit Card is cheating with customers.

        I agree with all of the above persons. I too was misled in the priority circle by the bank staff( as membership is free of cost) and billed me Rs 6741.00. when contacted they say the same as said to Mr. Ramakrishnan. I am following them daily to get both the membership and card cancelled. But till now nothing turned up.

        Please help us in resolving the issue.

        I have Barclay Credit Card No: [protected] since April 2008 but have never used the same till date. I got a call stating that Barclay is offering me free trolley bag worth Rs. 2000 & other discounts free of cost & there are no hidden charges .

        But in Nov I got SMS that I have due amount of Rs. 6741/- when enquired I was told that it was debited to my a/c against some membership fees. Now the outstanding amount has been raised to Rs.7817/- due to debit charges for non payment of due amount.

        I sent an email to [protected]@barclays.com requesting for reversal of charges and the debit charges and I received reply that they can not reverse the charges.

          My name is G Feroz Basha and my Barclay credit card no is [protected] i haven't use my card last 1year but i got a statement due of 6741.6/- to my address, i call so many time to call centre to cancel my account and i don't want to pay the amt for the bill which you send as i have not done even a single transaction, even though i have not opted priority services they send the bill for the priority service so I Said I'm not going to pay a single paisa please cancel my card as I'm no more interested in your bank

          I Am a Barclay bankCard Holder And Card No.[protected] Last Month Amt Due On My Card 11060/- last due Date For Same 08/01/09. I Drop a Chaque Amt 11100/- In Your Skypark Drop Box In Gurgaon At Dated 05/01/09. The Chaque Is ING VYSYA Bank.The Same Chayue Debit In My Ing A/c At Dated 08/01/09. But Date 10/01/09 I Celled In Your Customer Service They Told Me Your Chaque Bounce And You Have To Pay Bouncing Charg And Late Payment Charg Who Is Unnesseccery Charges. Now I Issue a New Chaque Amt 12500/- But I Do Not Pay Unnesseccery Bouncing and late payment charg. I Would Be Pay My Total Out Standing But Without Same Charges.

          So Please Revise Same Chages Close My Card ASAP.

              I took a Personal loan from Barclays and after that I got a call from them stating that they have identified me as one of the VIP customer and offered me a Barclay credit card and I asked them what is this for and should I be paying them any thing at all and they said no Not at all and hence I said ok.

              Then I made the first transaction for 10000 which I made a full payment before the due date and in the next month statement I was charged a late payment fee for not making the payment with in the due date. I had to run around and call the customer # and any time I called them they only said the systems are down and I was asked to call later..This happened for 15 times. Then I wrote to the head service mail address and got a revert after a week stating that the late fee is reversed.

              In the next month Nov 08 statement there was a charge of Rs 6000 and service tax if 741.60 then a late payment fee of 500 ect levied which I was shocked to know that I would have to pay this money.

              I logged a call with customer service and they sent for investigation and was asked to call after 10 working days. I called and they said that they are yet to get a revert for the investoigation team and asked me to call after 4-7 days. Mean time I was asked to call the priority circle # 43300301 and I called them and said that I was not lyable to pay this memebership money as I have not given a consent nor I was made to understand that I would have to pay Rs 6000 towards this during the time that the card was offered to me. The lady who I spoke to sd that (Monisha) they check with the quality team and the call was ok and that it and hence they cannot reverse the amount.

              This is full of confusion and misselling, Now I have registered a complaint with them for reversal of charged amounts but they said they can not cancel the membership, now they are saying that they have done the quality check and ebvrything is okay from their side, I have been facing this problem for the past 2 months and haven't received a single call from there side, I only receive a call from the collections department asking me to make the payment.

              I am still waiting for my grievance to be looked upon. I have dropped a mail also to the [protected]@barclays.com and [protected]@barclays.com but havn't received any response.

              priority circle — annual fees and not received free gift

              I am a barclays card holder 4339 xxxx and I was told about this priority circle over the phone by a tele caller. I was not interested but still my next card statement shows 5000/- debited for annual fees. I have not received any write up or free gift as promised (Stroley bag) and there is no response from the company. I feel I have been cheated by the company. There is no response on toll free numbers and also on help line no.[protected].

              I customer of barclays bank cerdit card from last 1 year, i have lost my card, i had register the complaint of same to cusmer care, but till i am not recieved the new card.

              my resident addrtess also changed, the is communicated to customer care . they also agree to they have in thier system, but i am not recived the statement on my new addree.

              I received a call on my mobile ([protected]) from your executive on
              30-9-08 at 11.32 a.m from the telephone no.[protected]. I have the recorded telephonic talk of your executive and can produce the cd if required to you. The executive informed me about some offer but after the call I told him that I have to think over it and I didn’t give any confirmation to the same. He assured me that he will not debit any amount to my account without my confirmation. He also told me that I would be receiveing a letter from Barclay Card priority circle within 14 days and after reading all the terms and conditions I have to give a call as a confirmation to the offer then only it will be debited to my account. But till now I have not received any such letters from your bank.

              I received a sms on 7-10-08 at 1.15 p.m stating that

              “WELCOME TO BARCLAY CARD PRIORITY CIRCLE A CLUB FOR SELECTED MEMBER LIKE YOU SPECIAL BENEFITS LIKE CASH BACK, HOLIDAYS, A WELCOME LETTER ON ITS WAY.PLEASE CALL ON[protected] IF YOU DON’T RECEIVE THE WELCOME LETTER IN THE NEXT 7 DAYS”

              On[protected]Saturday) I was shocked to receive a sms stating that an amount of Rs.60741 (Rs.6000+ service tax741) has been debited to my account
              On 12.10.08 (Sunday) I was not in station to give a complaint regading this

              After seeing this I had given a call on[protected]Monday) to the call centre & asked how it was debited to my account t without my consent and lodged a complaint .They told me that they will forward it to the concerned department.

              I received a STATEMENT ON 22-10-08 and saw that Rs.6000 with servicetax 741 has been debited to my account with the dated 30-9-08.(It is very clear that it was the same day which your executive has talked with me and it is the same day that it has been debited to my account).Again I had given a call on 23-10-08 lodged a conplain and received a reference no-154987 from the call centre. I have given a call to Chennai Barclay Card priority Centre (ph[protected] stating to cancel the same amount.I also checked with your call centre people on the same day whether I should make any payment since my due date falls on 28-10-08 . But your people told me that you should make the minimum amount payment of Rs.340/- to avoid late payment charges.I once again confirmed to them that by paying the minimum amount you should not take that I am confirming the offer to you( of Rs.6000/-).Your people told me that they will not do so and that that amount will be reversed in the next statement.and so I pad the amount of rs 340- /- by way of cheq no 424872 dated 23.10.08 at canara bank panapally nagar branch
              At drop box phothans video libery . they told me to call them after 72 hours

              Again after 72 hours on 29-10-08 I lodged a complain to your Mumbai office (ph_[protected] I called up Chennai office also ).They asked me to call after 3 days The Mumbai office people told me call on Saturday (after 3 working days).When I called on 1-11-08 to your Mumbai office and found shocking to hear that they cannot wave out this payment

              I am mentally veryupset with your banks behaviour with me .Kindly take this matter very seroious and urgent and wave of my amount of Rs.6000/- with the service tax


              Otherwise I have to take up this matter to the court of law and.Also I will report the matter to the RBI credit card complaint wing, and report to the editor to all the newspapers.

              Dear Sir,

              Recently around 15 - 20 days back I have received a call from your priority circle department promising some free holidays, some discount scheme.
              First I got a call and was informed that I have qualified for your priority circle for which I will be receiving free gifts known to you.
              I confirmed with the executive that if there are any charges I won’t be interested
              I was informed and assured that there are no charges attached to priority circle, it is being given after seeing your good relation with Barclays and only if you take our free holiday there you need to payee Rs. 500/- and you will be the priority circle.
              I was shocked to see that Rs 8569.80 is the balance payable by me.
              I crossed check my statement and I come to know that an amount of Rs 6741.60 has been charged for priority circle.
              I received SMS on 01/10/2008 for welcome to priority circle will get welcome letter is on your way if not received next 7 days call on customer care.
              After I received statement I call to customer care I asked about charges and I like to conform my conversation with your executive.
              As all conversation is happen on telephone there should be to way communication as your executive not able to give me the records of telephone conversion happened on 28 Sep 2008. As executive giving the reason that, we do not have such facility with us.
              As customer I want to confirm my conversion as there I have not received any letter from your side as I asked about the welcome letter of Priority Circle it will only received when I do the full payment.
              I have not got a single written word on the priority circle benefits which will be availaible to me for which you have charged me on my credit card . At least I cannot keep a proof of recorded voice which your executive has offered me so as to fight and claim the benefits from you.
              I am spending considerable time in writing this note. I want someone to look in to this matter immediately and cancel the priority circle membership.
              Secondly please put an enquiry on the conversation which took place between me and that foolish executive..
              I have forwarded the same complaint to the Indian Consumer complaint forum. I wish to extend my complaint to the court if I don’t receive any co operation from your side...

              Barclays Credit Card — Charged me for Priority Circle offer w/0 my consent

              Barclay has given me the worst of times in my life in the recent days.

              In August, I received a call from barclays about the pririty circle. I would like to know about it but later as I was in hurry then.

              I never received a call from them later and they activated the offer. I was charged 5000 + taxes for the offer through my credit card. I immediatley called them about the cancellation of the offer, to which they responded as they would look into the history of call records and would do the needful. I was still positive that Barclay, being a international brand would definately handle it in my favour.

              A month passed and I started receiving SMS from barclays about the payment of dues. There phones are always in wait state.

              I spoke to customer care, to which they said, pay the min. dues so that you dont receive the SMS/calls regarding the payments.
              So I did, thinking the issue would be solved. I communicated with them on mail regarding this. They refused to refund the amount. And now I have received a SMS today about the payment of charges.

              Did anyone manage to get the refund? let me know.

              I am Ramesh Ramakrishnan from Bangalore. I am Barclays Credit Card holder for the last 9 months and I never used this card even a single time. The card number is [protected].

              I got disappointed before using this card due to the false commitment and wrong information which I got from one of the Barclays executive.

              I had received a call regarding the PRIORITY CIRCLE membership 3 months ago. The executive over phone told me that I have selected as a best customer and they are providing free membership for priority circle even I never used my Barclays credit card in the past and 2 months ago I have received a SMS saying that my outstanding is around Rs.6100 and the minimum due is Rs.340. I have called the customer care immediately and reported this. They said that the charge was regarding the priority circle membership only.

              As they said its free membership, I told that I never used any of the facilities over that and I would not pay the amount and the executive told that no one forcing me to pay this and no need to pay the amount.

              I got disturbed a lot in the last 2 months by receiving many blank calls from Mumbai and Chennai numbers and receiving 2 sms per day. I have reported this more than 10 times over phone and I never get any updates regarding my problem.

              Last week I have received a sms by saying that my name may go under CIBIL if I am not paying the due amount. Barclays is the only full responsibility for the last two months due exceeded.

              I am very sorry to say this. As my Barclays credit card got misused and I never enjoyed any of the benefits over priority circle members, I can not pay any due and I would like to cancel my credit card account and priority circle membership. I have sent one email regarding this to [protected]@barclays.com on 17/11/2008 and I did not receive any update.

              Again I have received call from [protected] and one of the executive asked me to pay the due. I explained all my problems and he advised me to call the priority circle number[protected]. I have called that number and its not connected to any of the executive.

              It’s totally wasting my precious time and making me uncomfortable in my work place. If same kind of approach is continuing, I have no choice I will be going to report about this police and I have the recorded proof also.

              RECENTLY BARCLAYS HAVE ANNOUNCED MANY SCHEME, WHICH I DON'T ATTEND THE CALLS, BUT UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE ATTEND THE ONE O[censored]R CALLS WHICH COMES FROM UR PRIORITY CIRCLE HAVING SOMETHING TRAVELLING AND HOTEL STAY PLAN, WHICH I ATTEND, BUT U HAVE DIRECTLY DEBITED ME RS 6000 + SERVICE TAX, WHICH IS NOT FAIR EITHER WAY, AND IT IS INCREASES MONTH BY MONTH, I HAVE ALREADY CLEARED THAT THE OFFER IS GOOD BUT I HAVE NOT GIVEN CONFIRMATION, BY THE WAY I UNDERSTAND THE OFFER SHOULD FOLLOW BY CONFIRMATION CALL AND PROPER PAPER, WHICH IS NOT RECD BY ME.

              NOW I AM FADE UP, FOR RECEIVING UR CALLS FOR MAKING PAYMENT.

              LAST TIME I RECD CALL FROM U THAT, U HAVE TO PAY RS 340/- MINIUM DUE
              TO PAY AND CANCELLED THE ABOVE SAID PLAN AND GET RS 340/- CREDIT IN NEXT STATEMENT AND WHATEVER EARLIER DEBITS TO BE REVERSED. THAT'S WHY I MADE THE PAYMENT IN THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2008 .

              THEN I CALLED TO UR CUSTOMER CALL AND SPOKE TO UR EXECUTIVES ON 08/12/2008 BY 9.30 . I GAVE ASSURANCE THAT, THE AMOUNT WILL BE REVERSED AND NO MORE CALL WILL BE RECD TO ME AND CARD WILL GET CANCELLED.

              HENCE REQUEST U TO CANCELLED THE PLAN AND REVERSED THE FULL AND AMOUNT AND CREDIT RS 340/- WHICH I DEPOSTED VIA CASH ON 17/11/2008. OR CANCLLE MY CREDIT NO [protected].

              MEANWHILE I HAVE LOST MY FATHER ON 09/09/2008.


              THIS IS VERY HARRASSING TO ME AND VERY HECTIC.

              SO REVERSED THE AMOUNT OR CANCELL MY CARD

              baclays credit card — not receiving bill,falsely making a priority circle member

              i have applied for baclays card & received also on the month of september.now the problem is that i have not receiving any bill from that moment. i made acall to customer care regarding this making acomplaint to mr. satish nayar bearing request no. 241116 dtd.25.10.08that i will not pay any ammount until i receive my credit card bill.they told me that it will take seven days to rectify it.after few day i received a message regarding piority circle member that they have made amember for it atonce seeing it i made acall to customer care they told me that they have taken the request & assured me of cancellation.after that i make several call to customer care about my complaint they say that it is under process.on the month of dec i decided that i will not make any call to them . suddenly in the month of jan i got a call that your ammount is due and you pay a minimum ammount of that i told them that i have lodged a complaint regarding this and until my problem is not solve i will not listen any word .
              in the above context i have told every problem of mine & now adays they are threaten me that i know how to realise of my ammount and your cibil will be make poor that in order i wont get any credit card or loan . i also told them if any transaction what i have made i will pay withour any late fees etc.since the fault is not mine . they other two request no. are CAS846894, 897351.

              Barclay Credit Card — Reg: overdue payment

              Hi,
              I got barclay credit card and in that they have applied icici insurance in an emi which i have canclled and full amount has been refund. Its more than 2 yrs gone and they have the emi and asking me to pay the amount of nearly Rs.5800 with fine and other charges. But i have cut the card nearly 1 and half yrs before and i have communicated every thing to barclay but i dont receive any reply and communication from them.
              Nearly for 2 yrs i have been communicating to barclay but i dint receive any solution and not even a phone call but from chennai they are calling me to pay the amount and they call to my home and speaking roudly to my family member.
              Kindly help me to solve this problem and i have to apply for loan and because of this i could not apply any loan.

                I started the Relationship with your Bank probably last Year in the Month of November and your Services were good.

                After 3-5 Months I was unable to maintain a Good Track record payment and I suppose in the month of June – 2008 I had a Total amount due of Rs.29800 (Approximately) as I paid it in Full by Cheque and then my Services was back to Normal.

                When during my visit to Singapore I used my Credit Card and the Limit exceeded to Rs.21000 (Approximately) and due to financial reasons I was unable to maintain my monthly payment dues and I do agree with that. So I was then transferred to many places in South India regarding my Job and recently I came to Chennai I got the Information that I received a Notice from Mr.Ramdass & Mr. A Gunaseelan from Barclays Bank PLC and the information told me to contact Mr.Vijayakumar with the Mobile number as: [protected]

                So I thought let me contact Mr. Suresh who was visited my House many times regarding this and when I contacted I told him the complete information with my Mobile number and his reply was” No need to contact Mr.Vijayakumar anyways even if you contact him the matter will come back to me and no need to contact the Advocates either regarding this issue he insisted.

                So based on his words I agreed with that and Mr. Suresh with his Mobile number as: [protected] on Tuesday dated: 23.12.2008 from my Father’s Number and explained him clearly he said I will give you 2 Options:

                1. You can pay the prescribed amount of Rs.30415 (Approximately) and I will give you an Offer of Rs.1300 and further your Account will be activated immediately which is within 24 Hours.

                2. If you would like to close the Credit card account we can go for a Settlement.

                I told him give me 2 days time I will let you know based on my Financial Status and gave him my Mobile Number.

                Unfortunately I didn’t call him after 2 days which is dated: 25.12.2008 as I was held up in Thiruvarur so I thought I will call him on Sunday (Dated: 28.12.2008) and that’s my mistake I totally I agree with it and I apologies for that.


                On 26.12.2008 Mr. Suresh called my Mobile Number and my Wife picked up and he asked where he is and she responded he will be in Kolathur and gave the Residential address. Then he called up my Father’s Mobile number from which I spoke on Tuesday (Dated: 23.12.2008) and spoke very badly giving Mental Harassment to my Father aged 67 Years.

                After this incident my Father called me up and he cried literally and I felt vet bad and today which is Sunday dated: 28.12.2008 the same person called me up and I didn’t show frustrations and I spoke with him as if nothing happened.


                I asked him did u call my Father he said “No” for that and then I said I can see your Mobile number in the Received calls and the He (Mr. Suresh) said “yes I called” Further I asked him why did u spoke like that for that even he said “No” . Then I told him that My Father recoded the call of whatever you spoke and after that he said “Yeah I spoke what for that” and then when I further spoke with him regarding the Settlement the call got dis-connected and he never called back and even I didn’t had the balance to call him up further.

                Madam I feel very upset about these things happened and I would like to know one thing which is I do agree that I’m liable to the Bank and I’ will pay my debts with the contacts and why this Collection Person Mr. Suresh spoke like this (Mental Harassment) Use threatening language over the phone / Vulgar & Harsh Manner.

                As per Fair Practices in debt collection India Act:

                Banks / NBFCs / their agents should not resort to intimidation or harassment of any kind, either verbal or physical, against any person in their debt collection efforts, including acts intended to humiliate publicly or intrude the privacy of the credit card holders’ family members, referees and friends, making threatening and anonymous calls or making false and misleading representations.

                  Sir/Madam,

                  I have given a request w.r.t cancellation against Priority circle feature on 02.08.2008. I was informed by one of Barclay credit card customer support member (Deepak) that I will be receiving a call from Barclay i.r.o cancellation and then it will be cancelled upon my confirmation. Till now I have not received any call in this regard, but I am getting a flood of SMS and calls from Barclay regarding the outstanding amount on my card. This outstanding amount is due to the priority circle service charges, which I have cancelled on 02.08.2008. So, the outstanding amount and the interest on this amount should be rollback. Till today I have not done any transaction by using Barclay card.

                  In the past 4 months I have mailed 5 times to Barclay head services ("Head Service" <[protected]@barclays.com>). Every time I get a reply that this will be resolved in 7 working days.

                  Sub: Cancellation of the credit card.

                  My name is Madhusmita Mohapatra, my Barclay credit card no. [protected].
                  I have paid the credit card amount due Rs. 396 on 10th July 2008 but the record was showing payment is still due. So I raised so many complaints in the month of Aug'08 with the enclosed word doc file for the payment status asking to check the RBI reference number mentioned on the top i.e 67982957. This was pulled till Jan'09. Then I was asked by customer executive to lodge complaint here.

                  Again I had to write a complaint in this website, now I am happy that at least this problem is partly resolved. They have confirmed about my payment of Rs. 396/- but now when I requested to cancel my credit card yit seems your customer service people are not going to process the cancellation procedure unless I pay the late fee charges.

                  My question is why I should be asked to pay the late payment charges when I have paid the amount of Rs 396/- before the due date. If your bank has not received the fee at the right time they need to question RBI not the person who has paid it before the due date. And please ask your customer executive to talk politely.

                  Please resolve this issue ASAP.

                    I got a phone call around 30 - 45 days back saying that there is an offer for BARCLAYS PRIORITY CIRCLE MEMBERSHIP which entitles me to Discounst and free trolley bag offer. I had categorically asked the person thrice, whether I need to pay anything I was told that I need not pay anything.I was further told on the phone that I would be receiving detailed information of the offer and strolley bag within next 15 - 20 days. Thereafter I get CARD STATEMENT of BARCLAYS CREDIT CARD stating that I need to pay Rs 6741.60 as the membership fees for the BARCLAYS PRIORITY CIRCLE.I was shocked to the statement.
                    I then called up BARCLAYS CREDIT CARD HELP LINE, they then asked me to call up one no[protected]. After calling that number I was told that they would investigate the matter. I told them that I am aware that all calls are traced and you can listen to that call in which I was not told about the charges.They asked me to call up after 7 days.
                    After 7 days I again called up, this time they said that they had investigated the matter and their quality officer had found that the caller had mentioned about the Fees of Rs 6000.00 and was told that they would not be reversing the amount and i had to pay the amount.
                    I have made a purchase of Rs 811/-only on that card. I will deposit only Rs 811/- which I have used before the due date and will not pay a penny more than that.I am spending considerable time in writing this note. I want some one to look in to this matter immediately and cancel the priority circle membership.
                    Secondly please put an enquiry on the conversation which took place between me and that Rep who gave me wrong information...
                    I have taken guidance for the same from the Indian Consumer complaint forum. I wish to extend my complaint to the court if I dont receive any co operation from your side...
                    I wish to cancel the barclays priority circle membership as well as the Card. I do not wish to use this card any more and deal with Barclays as this was the first time I was using the card and I am feeling cheated.

                      Dear Ms Meera Rawat.(Head -Service Gvernance Retail Banking and cards - Barclays bank) India

                      This is in reagards to the credit card number 4339*********014 in the name of Shyam Sunder Kasarapu.
                      I have made only one purchase using this card on 4th May 2008.
                      The payment due date was on the 9th of June 2008.
                      I dropped a cheque of 2990 on the 3rd of June 2008. however the payment was posted to my credit only on the 13th of June 2008. Citing reason for late payment, I was charged a late fee of Rs 500.00
                      and other charges during the statement period May 19 to June 19.
                      I called up the customer service the same month & requested that the late fee to waived off as the cheque for the payment
                      was dropped at the skypak location on time but was not posted on time.
                      My request was not honoured, hence I requested that my card be closed and I stopped using the card.
                      On the 7th of August, I spoke to to Mr. Adil Khan at customer service and on 12 Sep to Shainta abt the same was assured that the matter would be looked
                      into and all the fees and charges would be waived off.
                      That still has not happenned.
                      Now everyday I get calls from your associates about making the payments and about being reported to CIBIL.
                      Please note that I have been using credit cards since 6 years now and I have rarely missed any payments on my other credit cards.
                      I have been given a platinum credit card by your bank based on my history with the other credit cards.
                      Its my sincere request to look into the matter and waive all the fees on my card, that were charged, bring back my card to good status again so that I can use my card and give business to your bank.

                      We are very upset while writing this complaint to you regarding mishandling of Customers’ account and sentiments. You may see the below e-mail of our Ms. Poonam Singh which is self explanatory. You can see how a small issue of non-delivering a statement of account to the Customer rose to dissatisfaction towards your bank of international repute. The facts of the matter are as under:-

                      We had got a Credit card from your bank for availing facilities available thru Yatra.com.
                      The bank has not sent us very first statement of account instead started charging Late payment fees, Interest and Service tax etc. On asking, we have been provided a statement of account by your representative after the due date showing outstanding balance of Rs. 10540/- (Sheet no. 6 enclosed).
                      We deposited a sum of Rs.10540/- immediately on receipt of above said statement of account, thru your representative (Mr. Divakar) vide your receipt no. 46110 dated 13th June, 2008.
                      Your bank has again started calling Mr. Sanjay Talwar, our Managing Director day and night and started troubling for non payment of dues without knowing the fact that the due amount has already been deposited by Mr. Sanjay Talwar.
                      We lodged our protest, once again, to your bank vide below mail of our Ms. Poonam Singh, Chief Secretary to Mr. Sanjay Talwar.
                      Thereafter your bank has sent us demand of Rs.11754/- including Late payment fees, Interest and Service tax etc. of Rs.1214/-.
                      We have deposited the above said amount of Rs. 11754/- without disputing as to who is responsible for not presenting the original cheque of Rs. 10540/-. The real fact was that the cheque was not presented at your end.
                      Over and above this, we have now again being asked us to deposit a payment of Rs.4603.29 (showing opening balance of Rs. 3783.33) vide your statement dated 17th January, 09 (FINAL NOTICE) without informing any details of the same. The said final notice is also stated that;

                      “Your credit facility has been withdrawn. Pls. pay Rs. 4603.29 immediately. You have now been negatively registered with the credit bureau.”

                      You can now see the limit, how do expect business from good customers like Mr. Sanjay Talwar who is the CMD of our Company having annual turnover of more than 100 Crores. Your bank has also offered us credit limits which we declined only because of above issue.

                      We have now no choice with us except to approach you as a last resort. We hope you will take appropriate action against your culprit employees and arrange to delete the demand raised on us and also refund our earlier late payment and other charges amounting to Rs. 1214/- on top most priority.

                      Further we request you to cancel the above said credit card and confirm.

                      Barclays Yatra Card — charging & converting the purchase amount TO EMI, without customer knowledge

                      I am holding a Barclay Yatra card. i have purchased jewellery worth RS. Approx. 14800 through barclay card

                      after that they have converted this amout to EMI with out my knowledge & without any confirmation letter.
                      for last 3 months they have charging LIKE INSTALLMENT INTEREST PAID & CAPITAL PAID ALONG WITH SERVICE TAX, i have spoken & wrote emails many times with their customer care executive regarding this matter( from i think december 23, 2008 onwards to till today ( 8/02/09) but they are telling that they got confirmation from my sides so ther coverted this to EMI so i asked the tleconv. proof of my conversation but hey are not ready to give or accept, yesterday i got 2 mail from them that one mails says that they will respond with in 7 days ( this is their usual reply ) and other one is they will cancel the EMI but they will charge for the cancellation of EMI... see this is totally giving mental torches to the customers... they have already charged me amout rs.2400 for this and i asked them to credit back but they are not ready for that... and i told them to solve this issue immediately and then only i will pay the amount .. and this month i didn, t given any payment for my out standing...

                      The barclay card is number one fraud i think ...

                      so i need help form my friends what necessry steps next i want to take..

                        I have a Barclay's credit card (bearing no.#### #### #### 0167). I wish to inform to you that I was not getting regular statement. Yet I was making regular payment by checking my account online. As per best of my knowledge, my last transactional amount was for Rs. 835/-, but I have been slapped with Rs.25, 00/- bill on account of late fees. I dropped my cheque on 2nd August 08 before due date but the same was cleared on 20th August 08 (18 days later). Upon checking with barclaycard team, I am being told that Rs. 2500/- pertains to late fees. I am completely at a loss to understand this. This seems absurd and unreasonable. Would request anyone have some suggestion please let me know.

                        Barclaycard — Ridiculous services

                        This is Ram, holding barclaycard number : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
                        I have been offered to convert my total outstanding into EMI's by telebanking around 20th April 2009 and came to my residence on 26th April 2009 to collect the cancellation cheque and fill ECS form
                        ...ever since my it was neither converted into EMI nor returned back my ECS form and cheque.

                        i have called your customer support around 4th of June to confirm whether the EMI convertion has applied...they said it is not yet done...this might take some more days...as your request came to them after genarating bill...so i have paid the min amount on 6th of June 09

                        i have called your customer support again in the month of July, to confirm whether the EMI conversion is done or not...i did not get any reply from Barclay bank untill the due date...so i did not pay the bill on the due date...later i got a calls from your recovery department saying that i am due for the bank...i have explained the same thing. i have received a call again on 9th or 10th of July saying the same...i have explained the whole story to here...finally she said she is converting it into 12 EMI's and the EMI amount would be Rs.5907 per month, i have paid the 1st EMI on 11th of July 09 of Rs.5910 through online...

                        When i looked at the bill of Aug...it shows lot of charges and late payment fees....etc...
                        after seeing the bill i have called the customer support on 2nd Aug 09, here is the case #CAS2110768.....



                        i would appreciate if you could go through the case and get back to me with the solution.
                        i can pay in the next moment once this issue is cleared.

                          Your representative had called me for the credt Card & taken detail from me.and also collected ID Proof (Pan Card Xerox copy).Till date I have not received any thing.You have committed to send within 7-10 Days.If this is the way of service please cancell my card.I don't want it at all.
                          Few months back one of your customer executive approached me and offered me to avail the free facility of credit card of your esteemed bank. At that point of time i wished to have this facility, so, i completed all the formalities i.e. provided him photo copy of my Identity Card signed by me and salary slip copy attested by me. But so far, neither any information nor any credit card have been received by me till date even elapse almost one year. In the due course of time i have made calls to your local bank branch at Chandigarh i.e.[protected] as provided by the your executive who visited me. But the reply i got by calling the number mentioned above was not satisfactory.

                            Hi,

                            I am Shilpa Gunda a customer for Barclay Credit Card.

                            I have a big problem with this card now, I have took the card since 5 months, In the month of Oct'08 I have received a phone call from Barclay telling about the priority Services.

                            I have spoke to that person almost for 25 Min duration, He explained me about the services benefits and offers.He said they will send a trolley bag etc.

                            But I have asked him just one query that is "Do you Charge anything for this"?

                            He replied no Madam we wont charge but one thing is please tell YES in the verification call and they will give you one dedicated number for you for your concerns.

                            After getting trusted I have accepted the call and said YES in the verification call.
                            But it was wrong what has happened by the end of the month I have got a statement mentioning Due amount of Rs 6741.6/- .

                            I was astonished by seeing the statement as I haven't use my card yet.I have been calling the customer care and priority circle from that day.Its all became of no use.

                            And now the amount is increased and distubing me with the calls and also the blank calls too.See one thing if you want me to be a customer for this please cancel your services and make my account to zero amount due, else please cancel my card.

                            I will be happy if I wont use your card anymore as I have trusted your services very well.

                            And now I received a call telling me to pay min amount of Rs 720/- by tomorrow at any cost, what is the purpose of this as I haven't use my card yet and making loss to me.

                            Will you repay my loss of amount and the toucher i am facing here.

                            Requesting you to resolve this case as early as possible and make me to have a normal breathe.This will be the proof of letter for raising a case in the court in case i face the problem further.

                            The priority circle answered me telling that I have accepted by telling YES in the verification call which is recorded, but have u people recorded the conversation that happened before this verification?

                            who is being cheated?The customer myself and you people just tell me to pay amount.

                            CustomerCare tells me to keep a letter to their services which will never accept.Always gets bounced mentioning "Remote host said: 550 No such user - psmtp [RCPT_TO]".

                            Please I want the solution within 24 Hrs.Hope you being the Barclay will make the customer happy and satisfy the work and the trust we have on you.

                              Hi,

                              I too am a victim of Barclay. When I was told about the priority membership, I asked them to send me a post or an email about the details. I also mentioned that if I liked the scheme I would sign up.

                              I have neither received the post or the email and now they insist on paying for something I haven't even seen. They are not even willing to share the recording of the conversation between me and the Barclay's executive.

                              If anyone of you have faced the same problem, please do get in touch with me. I think we need to collectively decide on how to stop them from cheating people in this scheme.

                              this complaint is regarding for my barclay card i am using till 6-7 months one day a costumer care executive call me me and tell me about the baclay priority services without any charges, fees or hidden charges and i confirmed two or three times for any charges he apply for this service but he says its absolutely free of cost then i accept this service but after a month barclay charged me approx 7000/- for this service after that i complaint again and again to customer care but there is no response please do something asap.

                                Thanks for giving the opportunity to mail atleast, as non of your customer care or your
                                credit card department guys are capable of clearing the queries. They only take the pleasure of
                                irritating people like me. Let me tell my irritating thing which I am facing with you guys.

                                I have received a call from barclay in the month of October'09 regarding some offers &
                                gifts they are giving without any extra charge, for which I said 'Yes'. Later in the month of
                                November'08 I've received the bill to pay about Rs.6741.60(against Barclay's membership).
                                I have called up[protected]/[protected] and requested for cancellation and I was asked to call
                                again after 4-5 days. Within these days I have received an SMS to pay the outstanding amount of
                                Rs.340. I did not understand why I am asked to pay Rs.340 when I haven't used my card yet. I have
                                forgot to call on 4-5 days and understood that they have cancelled the earlier Rs.6741.60.
                                On the 6th day I have received a call that my amount of Rs.6741.60 is cancelled.
                                Immediately after that call again I am called up from barclay asking to pay outstanding amount of
                                Rs.340. I asked them for what I have to pay Rs.340, they told me that I have not paid the amount
                                Rs.6741.60 on time and requested them that Rs.340 should be cancelled as Rs.6741.60 itself was
                                cancelled.

                                Now, after 2 days when I called the no's.[protected]/[protected]/[protected] to know the status
                                each of them tries to clear or cut the call from them by saying to call Bangalore no./ Bombay no./
                                Customer Care no. I'm fed up by doing 10 calls serially. I have come to know from these people
                                that the amount I have to pay is Rs.7081.60(Rs.6741.60+Rs.340). They say that the amount 6741.60 cannot be
                                cancelled and none of them have got authorization to cancel it. It was a shock to me.

                                They haven't send the gifts and in return they ask us to pay Rs. 7081.60. This is rediculous.

                                I clearly say that I have not accepted for any membership fee in the call and I am not going to pay
                                the amount too.

                                Now, I feel of cancelling my account and doesn't want to keep any sort of relationship with Barclay further.
                                Once the issue is cleared I want to break the Barclay's credit card and through it away for ever.

                                I want someone to take the issue seriously and clear it as soon as possible. This is a torture to me.
                                I haven't taken any loan from you to pay the amount. I believe you understand me.

                                Please do needful.

                                  I have ben charged sum of Rs.6471.60 on my card for some Membership fee where in Bank is giving me some gift vouchers. I have never opted for this Membership and I had asked the Customer Service to CANCEL the Membership, but they are not going to cancel this Membership and asking me to pay the amount.
                                  However I have not received the statement and any voucher till now.
                                  I do not want any membership and please let me know what step I can take ahead.

                                  I had a taken a Credit Card i had to make a paymet and i drop a cheque in the listed drop box, they make repeated calls telling they have not got the money. so i call the customer care ask for detail ask them to send a agent and i pay him with intrest .
                                  This is the trade off . i ask the customer care what happened to the cheque i gave they say there was signature mismatch and it did the pass. but the people who call from chenni tell they have NEVER RECEVIED the cheque .
                                  Now i ask them to Give the cheque back which dint pass bcz i am sure signature was CORRECT . they are Still sending after 5 Monts ... TOTALL RIP OFFF
                                  WOULD SAY NEVER TRUST THESE PEOPLE>>> trying cheap tricks in INDIA also

                                  I am having a Barclay credit Card .for which they have made a charge of Rupees 6000/- without my permission asking as a club membership. Now I am asking to revert it because Idont require any membreship but they are asking for to pay money with interest, calling me daily thrice and threatening also getting 10 sms daily.                                   Barclays — wrong transactions that they want me to pay

                                  They charged me wrong, said they are investigating and still haggling me to make the payment. Pathetic banking, this is despite several complaints to even their Head.

                                  Referring to my barclay card [protected], I had disputed 2 wrong transactions on my card:
                                  Rs.4761/- 06 Nov 08 Yatra
                                  Rs.3337/- 07 Nov 08 Yatra
                                  Raised the dispute through phone banking on 01 Dec 08. Subsequently emailed them at [protected]@barclays.com and when nothing was happening to [protected]@barclays.com... both said they are investigating the problem and will resolve in 1-week. Over 5 weeks have gone by, they are raising bills and charging interests and collections calls me 10 times a day. I have put in a police complaint... police is not registering an FIR as they want to give Barclays time to resolve. For another reference, the customer complaint on phone with Barclays customer service is 715974.

                                  Can someone put some common sense into Barclays to first complete investigation and then try to claim the money? Barclays is here to fleece people, guess they did not make money in UK and want to now fleece Indians. I am not going to give up, my next complaint will be a legal notice through my lawyer. I have enough evidence to show how they torture innocent people.

                                  I am Raghavendra Achari customer of Barclays Banlk.
                                  I hold a credit card (Times Card) and the details are mentioned below:

                                  Name: RAGHAVENDRA

                                  After i receive this card i had done only one Online transaction for BSNL bill payment.

                                  At the end of the month of June i received a message for the payment of some amount(roughly 2418.09/-). Then i called to the customer care and enquired about this.

                                  Customer care exec gave the following transaction details and told me:

                                  Website Amount Date

                                  1. Datafindhelp.com 132.05/- 13th June 08.
                                  2. Datafindhelp.com 1777.32/- 14th June 08
                                  3. FileServiceHelp.com 1779.94/- 14th July 08

                                  Executive said it seems to be fraud transaction and they will forward this for the investigation and they blocked the card.

                                  After some days they rleased the card without my notice and then once again the transaction has happened againt the above mentioned details.

                                  Later many times i called to the customer care regarding this. But there was no solution. Whenever i call customer care exec they take the complaint and they say they will resolve the problem.

                                  Every day i am receiving 10-15 calls and messages to make the payment.
                                  I am really disturbed because of this.

                                  Since i informed to the customer care, i stopped making payment other than this following payment i had done on 24th of July 08:

                                  Date: 24/07/2008
                                  Transaction Details: BIL/[protected]/VISA#Barclays/RAGHAVENDRA
                                  Amount: 2, 418.09/-

                                  After this i had sent an E-Mail to the [protected]@barclays.com with all the above mentioned details.

                                  After 1 week i received an e-mail, and saying that since this transaction has happened 75 days back they can not do anything and i have to make the complete payment(7000/- plus). I have complained several times to the customer care executive regarding this well before 75 days and asked them to block the card. But they never done that.

                                  Later i replied to that E-Mail and asked them to waveoff some amount. But they have not replied.

                                  Since i am not responsible for this transactions i have not done the payment.

                                  Now they have referred to the CIBIL.

                                  Kindly help me in providing the justice and solution and atleast waveoff some amount.

                                  Hello Sir/madam,
                                  This Sunil Chaudhari, from Pune.
                                  I have no relation with Barclays bank.
                                  Few days back on 23rd Oct 2012 I got cal from number [protected] mentioning name Mahendra chaudhari. He called himself as Police Inspector form Delhi police station.
                                  He was asking about one person Amol Mahajan. According to Mr. Mahendra chaudhari, who introduced himself as Police personel, Amol Mahajan has cheated Barclays bank through credit card.
                                  Another pesron with Name Rakesh chandra, his mobile no, [protected], called me and told me that there is non-baleable warrant against me also because Amol cheated Barclays, and Amol had given my reference. (what the hell is this policy of Barclays.)

                                  Here I am declaring that I have no personal and professional or any other relation with Amol Mahajan. I havent given any reference or never referred him to Barclays or any other related firms for any banking/financial affairs.
                                  I am not responsible in any way for loss of bank if Amol cheated the bank.

                                  I am warning Barclays bank and their recovery personel through this mail, Not to call me again or not to approach me or any of my relatives or any premises of mine, whether its residential or official address, for above mentioned matter of Amol Mahajan.

                                  The said person Amol Mahajan is totally unknown person for me.
                                  This is pre-Legal notice.
                                  If I am suffered by any means, I will go for legal action against above 2 fellows Mahendra Chaudhari and Rakesh Chandra.

                                  I was having a Credit Card # [protected] of Barclays bank.This credit card was issued to me in July’2007. I was using this card throughout 2007 &amp; 2008. Then in Mar’09 I settled the dues against the mentioned credit card with Rs. 18, 000/- (Eighteen Thousand) against a balance of Rs. 35, 017.94 (Letter attached). The account has been closed after this transaction. I haven’t received any call from the bank after this settlement.
                                  Now, in 2014, I applied for a home loan from an another bank.But the bank has rejected my application as status against this credit card is showing as “Written Off” in my CIBIL report. It has been written off by Barclays bank in Aug’09 whereas all the dues were settled in the month of Mar’09.Request you to please let me know the reasons for showing reason as “Written Off”, whereas I have paid the settlement amount to your bank. Status should be“Settled” in space of “Written Off”, because I have paid the settlement amount to your bank in the month of Mar’09 only. Due to this my home loan application has been rejected and I am in big trouble.

                                    I am holding Barclays cards in India for more than 10 months and I am a member of your priority circle. Suddenly they have cancelled my one card without any reason. Why? Firstly they reduced my Credit Limit from Rs. 167, 000.00 to Rs. 137, 000.00. And now suddenly they have cancelled my card even after taking Rs. 5, 000.00 for Priority Circle. This is Blackmailing. MY accounts are uptodate. There are no outstandings. Why this?

                                      This is Vishal H. Surve holding Barclay Credit Card no. [protected] from Mumbai . I had received call from Barclaycard priority few day’s back. The caller told me that they are offering some facilities to selected Barclaycard holders, which offers free holiday stay with our listed hotels, discounts on shopping from our listed shops etc.
                                      I suppose that they are offering me because I have use the same Credit Card first time and they are offering just to encourage my purchasing with this Credit Card. I ask to the caller if you are offering me the same facility free of cost that kindly provide me the same.
                                      After this I have received one conformation call. This time other caller ask me about my Birthdate, my address, Cell no. Etc
                                      and he had finish without providing my any idea about joining fee, terms and rules for the cancellation of the same service if any.

                                      After receiving statement of Barclays Credit Card came to know that the same offer is availed me by debiting my Credit Card.
                                      On 17/11/08 I had talk with Barclaycard priority customer care regarding the same and they told me to contact on 19/11/08 for feedback.
                                      on 19/11/08 when I call to the Barclaycard priority customer care they inform me that they have check the conversation of caller who offers me the same offer which was in the correct manner & you have given your consent. Now how do I come to know that it’s true. There is no transference between the transaction what is forced on me to pay.
                                      Now i am receiving almost every day one call from different different callers of Barclay collations Dept. who are forcing me to pay Barclays Credit Card Priority Circle Service fee Rs. 6, 000/- and the Service Tax Rs. 741.60

                                      Barclay card — Barclay Priority Service

                                      I got call from barclay and told by the customecare executive that barclay is celebrating its anniversery in india so they are giving a membership and I have been selected for priority member, and told many benifets, . After few days I got a call that there is payment due and you have not paid so we are temporarily blocking your card I called upon credit card customer care to inquire which payment is due because all my dues were cleared then I canme to know that I have been charged with this membership fees I called priority CC they told me that you have confirmed this membership programme I asked them to cancell this membership they refused to do that also. Till date neither I have received any letter nor any mail confermation, a sms was send to me few days back stating that my welcome letter has been issued and in case it is not delivered plese CC which not reacheable.
                                      Please be careful

                                      I never faced an issue. rather the bank people always supportd me in eberything. rather i want a 2nd membership bu they refuse that????
                                      I have faced a similar problem with the Barclaycard Priority Circle team. They have sold me the Priority Circle membership after selling a lot of benefits for the same. However, after paying an amount in excess of Rs.5000, I have not enjoyed any benefit other than the fact that they sent me a handbag. Getting through the so called "Priority Circle" number is a task and when I manage to get through the number, they ask us to contact an alternate number which belongs to the "Heritage India Pvt Ltd". That number is worse than the "Priority Circle" team, all you get to hear is some god forsaken voicemail.

                                      I want someone from the Heritage India team to call me up and extend the period of my free holiday offer which I got for enrolling into the Priority Circle club.
