I HAD BEEN CHARGED FOR LATE PAYMENT EVEN WE HAD PAID THE CHEQUE ON THE DUE DATE IN THERE DROP BOX. THEY HAD CHARGED FOR THE DELAY EVEN THOUGH WE HAD PAID THEM ON THE DUE DATE.WE HAD CLEARED THERE ALL BILLS PAID THROUGH THE CARD AND THE LATE PAYMENT CHARGES HAS BEEN KEPT DUE. THEY ARE ASKING US TO PAY CHEQUE 3-4 DAYS IN ADVANCE WHICH THEY CANNOT COMPEL US FOR.
THEY ARE CONSTANTLY CALLING AND SENDING SMS FOR THE CHARGES AND ALSO THREATNING US FOR PUTTING OUR NAME IN THE CREDIT BUREAU. THEY ARE REGULARLY CALLING US 8-10 TIMES A DAY AND SENDING MINIMUM OF 10 SMS EVERYDAY TO CLEAR THERE DUES BUT THEY ARE NOT LISTENING TO US.
HI, I, Johny paryani has a Gold Credit Card bearing no - [protected] haven't been receiving Credit card statement neither via email nor a physical copy.

I had complained for the above but to no use. Most importantly I was charged a fine of Rs.751 for late payment on my last transaction. How am i supposed to know how much to pay if i don't get a statement.

I realized that payment has to be done only when i received an sms 2 days before the last date and i dropped a cheque on the same day.
I, therefore refuse to pay the fine of Rs.751. I would rather no mind returning the credit card.
Hope you will solve the matter unlike the customer care executives.

    Dear sir/ madam,
    I had barkclays card no [protected] which am not using presently.The reason being the amount of Rs 771 in the month of feb 08, which i paid by HSBC bank by cheque no.535187 dated 14/2/08 before the due date 15/2/08 and i myself depositted it in the drop box on 6/02/08 but they told me they havent received any cheque and they had sent a false sms stating that i had withdrawn cash amt of Rs 15000/which my husband and I clarified that we havent . after few days on 16 feb 08 they had called up to inform me that since i havent written PLC on the cheque so they are returning my cheque and asked me to write PlC along with barkclaycard which i wasnt aware nor it was made to my notice since before that we were paying them barlclaycard no .. so on asking them they said this was introduced after we had been issued the card lately and so i agreed and they asked me to send another cheque by their collection person Mr. Avinash Jagdale so as to avoid any late fees and so before i received my previous cheque i called Mr Avinash Jagdale same day and gave cheque no. 007004 of amt 771Rs dated 21/2/08 drawn on centurian bank of Punjab.but still barkclaycard people asking me to pay the same amount with their debit interestRs 747 + late fee 300and service tax . I am shocked by these people's behaviour .They are sending me statements, harassing me calling me late night and sending sms daily ...please help me to get rid of this case...i cannot pay the amount which i had already paid to them ... because i cant bear this injustice ...Today on this false debit amt they had increased by all means Rs 5 380.73 . Please guide me what step i must take .

    I am credit card holder of Barclay bank card number-[protected]. I have taken Credit card few days back i have done no transaction on this card till date. Last week I got message from bank mentioning my total due on my card is 6741/-rs. When I called customer care, person told me there are some package charges which was never told to me before.

    he gave me number[protected] for cancelling the packages offered I called n number of times to given number. they are not ready to cancell the offers neighter they are ready to cancell my card

    and asking me to pay the charges.

      Hi,

      This is a complaint regarding the BARCLAY Banks ironic service. I had enough with this card, I was so darn frustrated that I paid it in FULL and asked to close it. Let me tell you my woes with your bank.

      I'm an Assist Manager for a reputed bank and I know how credit card works inside out. I should have known that Barclays doesn't have online access before I had to forcefully apply by their agent. Neverthless, it was my mistake. Anyways, those guys have incorrect information. My Date of Birth was incorrect and something else is incorrect and they blocked my card. I called and told them the CORRECT answers. Don't "I" know my Date of Birth? Don't I know my Mothers Name? The agents who is a tells me to call back with CORRECT information as it dint match? WHAT THE HECK? He told me that I don't have an account since the information did not match? Jeez! I was so frustrated that I paid the complete balance in full and called back to close the account. The agent this time asked me my last transactions and I was lucky enough to tell her that I made her a payment and asked her to close this card and send me a conformation. Its been more than 15 days and I never got the conformation. When I called today, there is this agent Divya Tamod who DID not give me her Agent ID or escalate the call to a supervisor. She tells me that I CANNOT CLOSE MY account. I told her thats stupidity and she says answer a call from our office only then your account will be closed. I get a zillion calls in a day for Insurance...Credit Cards...Blah Blah Blah.. Should I receive all those calls JUST to close my account with you guys?? I also told her that I can send a letter if required since I cannot answer all the hunderd calls I get in a day. I work in the night...I cant stay all day for YOUR stupid call? She was adamant and wanted me to ANSWER the calls. She told this repeatedly and was rude on the call. I know the rules of this COUNTRY and Im working with a bank. Thats the kinda service these guys have... It was a night mare..and they told me that there are no supervisors with Barclays and they are being run by a junk Agents who have no sense...and tells people to call back with INCORRECT information :P LoL... Its a lesson for me.. So I hope you guys dont do the same mistake...

      Barclaycard — Unethical charges

      I have dropped the chq. on April 29th 2008 against the statement due date of May 02nd 2008 and then too the bank has charged me the late fee of Rs. 429.99 and on top of it they have also charged me a amount of Rs. 551.53 as a interest amount in the statement of May 12th 2008.

      i am continusly recieving the calls from barclay wherein they have charged me for a huge amount for the late fee and tax on same they are continusly callinme and saying to make the payment wherein mistke was done from the bank i have requsted couple of time but atfer no possitive reply i have stoped makeing the payemnt now they are threating us that will never get a lon from any bank or some their executive make the call and use bad language.

      i m really frustrated with them kindly help me.

      I am also facing the exactly same issue with this barclay bank.

      Barclay — priority circle membership fee

      I have been charged Rs.5000 as Barclay Priority Circle Membership Fee in the month of April. I have denied the offer while an executive called me. Since then I was writing mails and calling customer care for cancelling the fee. The customer care provides you numbers which never get connected.

      (I have been trying this number for last two months and never got connected).

      I have written mails to [protected]@barclaycard.in, [protected]@barclays.com and [protected]@barclays.com. There was no proper response.

      Now the late payment fee and interest charges have reached Rs.8965.

      I am not going to pay a single penny to them.

      I think there are many cases like mine. We should join and do something against such unethical, cheating business. At least we could give maximum publicity to this and save other people from getting cheated.

      I too experienced same problem as you. They infact told me that once the charges are levied, cannot be reversed. I went through the terms and conditions posted on ther website- http://www.barclaycard.in/fileadmin/content/TNC/Barclaycard_Priority_Circle_Club...
      According to Clause 2, subclause b., and c., i quote-
      b. The participation of Cardholder(s) in the Program is voluntary and if a Cardholder(s)
      chooses not to participate in the Program, then he/she shall inform/intimate the Bank in thisregard within 21 days from the date of the amount has been debited to his card account, in the manner as indicated by the Bank at its sole discretion from time to time. In the event, a Cardholder(s) decides not to become member of the Program and has communicated the same to Bank within the 21 days mentioned above, then the Bank shall reverse such charges received
      from the Cardholder(s) provided that the Cardholder has not availed any benefit of the
      programme.

      C Subject to terms of 2 b above, If a Barclaycard holder decides to withdraw from the Program, then he/she shall intimate the Bank of the same. Upon withdrawal from the Program, all Charges pertaining to the Program, borne by Barclaycardholder, shall be reversed.

      The customer care executive had no answer for this. Again she took complaint on this on which they ae still 'investigating'.

      Hi,
      I want to inform the person who is veiwing this webpage, kindly do not apply from Barclay Bank, as they are the cheater bank.

      I got the Card & been rejected by the bank.

      It is a Fraud Bank.

      Barclay — Priority Circle Fees not applicable

      I have been worngly issued a credit card statement for Rs 6741.60 against my card inspite of not even using it once.

      Also as per the statement i have been charged a fee of Rs 6000 + Service charges (Total Rs 6741.60) as Barclaycard Priority Circle Fee. I was told by their Tele-marketing executive that this membership is free and that there will be no hidden costs or charges.

      The transaction date as mentioned is 29/10/08 and the statement date is 19/11/08. I have been sent an e-statement on 23/11/08.

      Request you to kindly take up the matter with Barclay on a priority basis.

      I have applied for Barclay Credit card & same been received on November 2008, but when i try to use i got the error saying Card Declined.

      Call customer Care of Barclay Bank.

      As per them i have applied for Credit card twice time, due to that they closed my card account.

      I really dont understand what the fun of sending card to customer & then closing the account.

      Barclay — Credit card

      Sir/Madam,

      I have a barclay credit card offered to me on 11/07, I have used the card for initial 3 months and have not been using the card since then till date. My total credit limit on this card was 27000/-. I have made a payment of 1500 per month for more than a year without any default. Since last 5 months I have been requesting for a settlement for the closure of the card but the representatives of the bank never turned upto me. I recently got a call from one of the executives of the bank (his phone number is [protected]) who threatened me for not paying 40, 000/-
      I have no clue on where they decided on that amount. I have requested them for deducting the prinipal amount that i have already paid since one year and to let me know the remaining amount, but the executive has harrassed me by continuous calls and his rough language. He has even threatened me for not paying the amount they asked for( they havent given me the breakups of the amount they are charging)

      I would request to take severe action against such people to torture customers mentally and harassing them on no grounds

          Hi,

          I m using Barclay Credit Card, I used it for around 16, 000 Rs. & I called them to convert my payment in EMI & it has been done now.

          But I m facing so many issues since last three EMIs.

          My due date for EMI payment is 2-Oct-08, & I already dropped chq. in drop-box on 25-Sep-08 (Before 7 days) which is dated of 1-Oct-08. since last 7 days I m getting so much calls from Barclay for Payment Reminders & SMS also in Day & Night also.

          I did called to Barclay Customer Care, I spoke to Mr. Rakesh Manna (after so many tries), & He told me that Barclay received your Chq. but it is not credited yet then I tell him Pls do credit it ASAP & stop this Reminders and ask him that This is not my fault when I already made a payment to you. Then he clear cut told that - "Whatever happened we will charge you for late payment". even he denied to transfer my call to his senior executive.

          I sent email on their ID for my complaint before 7-8 days but yet not received any response from their end.

          My bank statement shows that my chq already been debited in my account .. So HOW IT COULD BE POSSIBLE ??


          This is happened with me second time, before this i was called but their customer care executives are so RUDE & doesn't reply in proper way... I must say they are bloody ... lazy & irrespective people.. and their services for Emailing & Customer Care are so much Poor.. Poor.. & Bloody.. lazy also.

          I really request to all of readers of my this complaint Please do not use Barclay Card or any services

          I Kuldeep Singh Pabbla received a call from Barclay for credit card.Next day i have handover all the necessary documents to that executive who comes from bank .But i dnt know about the status of my request yet.I am a genuine person and holding my icici credit card also.
          When i called on helpline number 6001 6001,there is no response i got.
          This is my request please stop this kind o[censored]seless service and make customer fool.

          Barclay - Credit card — Charged without knowledge or permission

          I was charged Rs.5000 as barclay priority circle member ship fee, which done with out my knowledge or permission. I have written atleats 6 times to [protected]@barclaycard.in
          I got different responces like your "we have forwarded your request for the reversal of Barclay circle charges to the concerned department. We will revert shortly."
          The below given are my billing details.
          26.04.2008 xxxx BARCLAYCARD PRIORITY CIRC LE MEMBERSHIP FEE 5000.00 Dr
          The late payment charges as well as interests have increased the bill amount to Rs.6750.
          I did not recieve any correction in bill till date.
          Please help me to solve this issue.
          Ur lucky my friend they have still not issued u a card, try for some other bank, its the most pathetic service i have seen with my ten yr experience with creditcard companies!!!their call center number doesn get thru, so u can imagine ur state i[censored]r card is lost and their cal center number says this number is busy..all the time!!

          Be happy that you dint got your barclay card. A suggestion, pls cancel it .. they wont give you statement or mail reply in time so as to charge you late fee, interest etc on the same.

          They are docoits who will extract your hard earned money. Trust me ..I have one and I am in trouble!! :((

            This is regarding calls from collection executives of Barclays who called from this no.[protected] at my residence and used abusive language with my family because my monthly EMI got bounced and I was out of country. At the initial time of taking the loan itself I have provided my office executive nos for follow up of payments and cheque collection but that never happened. After this incedent I have sent an email to Barclays Customer Servie where they have mentioned that they are extremely sorry for whatever happened and they will enquire the whole case.

            But to my surprise after 10 days of that incident I again recieved the call from same no. and some lady Shubagini was there and she is representing herself as a Team Lead of executives she asked me for payment and I said I am not willing to make any further payments as I want Barclays stand on my Complaint and she said she will immediately check all the calls made to my home and said sorry for the incident but after 5 minutes she again started to using the same kind of rough language.

            I am so fed up and disappointed of this whole incident that I won't even think of having any future relationships with Barclays. I want to close down my Loan Account and Credit Card immediately with them. But I would like someone to come into picture and take a appropriate action as Banks are not suppose to harass people using abusive and unprofessional language.

            My Name is Nilesh Jagtap I have a personal loan with Barclays bank Loan a/c no is 1007041 and loan amount is Rs 1, 25.000/- EMI per month is Rs 4792/- loan sanction in Feb. 2010 . i have paid 30 EMI regularly but from last one year I am job less because rescission and other reason’s . i have close my business . I am searching good job for me in my profession. I am conform i will gate job next few days.
            But now i am unable to pay next EMI in time period. Now I am in tremendous financial trouble and could not pay such EMI with in time period. Sir I request you pls give me some advise and some time to pay your remaining EMI. I am confirm you that I want some time only I will regularly paid your EMI

              Hi,

              I had send a letter to Barclays Credit Card on 23.09.08 on mail id : [protected]@barclays.com and '[protected]@barclays.com' addressing the same to Mr. Mr. S. V. Narayan, Head Service – Retail Banking & Cards (India), Barclaycard, P.O. Box No. 11567,
              Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021. My letter was as below :


              My Barclay Card No. is [protected]. My balance due as on 12th August 2008 was Rs. 13636.37/-, towards which I had made a cheque payment of Rs. 1500/- on 16th August 2008. I understand that, as per the payment made by me, the balance due on my credit card should have been Rs. 12136.37/-.

              I received a SMS from Barclay Card on 15th September 2008 regarding my Barclaycard statement generated on 12th September 2008 and the same was delivered at my mailing address. But to my surprise the statement showed an outstanding payment of Rs. 18196.07/-.

              I called up Barclays and spoke to Customer care Executive (Ms. Neha on[protected] on 16th September 2008. On inquiring about the additional amount of Rs. 5618/- debited in my account, I was told that the said amount was debited as per the instructions given by Barclaycard’s priority circle club and the same cannot be reversed. Hence I was asked to speak to the Barclaycard’s Circle club on[protected]. As told, I spoke to Ms. Ankita from the Barclaycards Circle Club on 16th September 2008. Ankita told me that she will require 48 hours to investigate the matter.

              On following up on 19th September 2008, I was told by Ms. Hemani that the amount was debited on a verbal consent given by me which they said was checked in their system. To this let me confirm that when I had received a call on 09th August 2008 from Barclaycard’s priority Circle Club department regarding the scheme, I had already informed them that I am not interested in the said scheme. She refused my request to hear my verbal conversation with Barclay’s executive, which they said was recorded in your system. Upon my continuous enquiries I was again told that she needs to speak to her Senior Executive and hence I was given a complaint no.[protected].

              On 22nd September 2008, when I followed up for the status of my complaint, Ms. Hemani (Barclaycard’s circle club Executive), told me that I will have to pay the additional amount of Rs. 5618/- as they cannot reverse the entry.

              Now after trying my level best to sort out the matter, I am left with no option but to write this letter. I would also require certain clarifications :

              1. Is a financial institution allowed to make any debit / credit entries in a customer account on just a verbal confirmation.
              2. Was it not the duty of Barclays officials to take a written confirmation from me.
              3. Was it not Barclays duty to officially inform the customer before making any transactions in their account.

              I am very disappointed that Barclays is troubling the customer by forcing them to repay an amount which is illegally transferred to their accounts without the customers consent. I had also informed them that i would not be making any further payments neither am I paying the minimum amount (which again is inclusive of the additional amount) till the matter is sorted.

              I also informed Barclays that if the said additional amount of Rs. 5618/- is not deducted from my Credit card within two days from the receipt of this letter, I shall be forced to complain to RBI about the illegal transfer of funds into my account without my consent as per the Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2002. Also I shall take up the matter with Consumer Forum.

              On 24th September i had received a letter from Ms. Sana Khan, stating that she would revert back within 7 working days and my case is registered under case no. HSE/080923/1335/SK/CRD.

              But till date i have not received any reply from them. Infact, the officials from Barclays are harassing me by calling continuously and threatining me to pay the minimum amount. They are telling me that they are not aware of my complaint and they don't have to do anything with it. They just want me to make the payment.

              Please tell me what am i supposed to do. Why should i make the payment which is debited in my account without my consent. Is it fair?

              Barclay card — Barclay Bank has charged an amount of Rs 5618/- without my permission

              Dear Sir/Madam,
              I have recieved the statement of my Barclay Card (Card No: [protected]) on 25th Sept 2008, and then I found that they have charged an amount of Rs 5000/- as Barclaycard Priority Circ & ServiceTax Rs 618/- on 30/08/2008, I have not authorised anybody to charge this amount, nobody has informed me before charging this amount. I am strongly disagree with this incident and I am not ready to pay this amount. I have called customer care and informed them, they have told me that they are registering the complain & they provide me a number to contact Priority Circ[protected], I have tried lots but nobody picks up the phone. I have sent a email to them providing all the details on 26th Sept 2008 but they have not replied back till now.

              I am complaining against this unauthorised charge, and I am not ready to pay this amount. I am very much upset with such incident.

              Barclays Credit Card — BARCLAYS ILLEGALLY TRANSFER THE AMOUNT FROM MY CREDIT CARD

              Sir,
              I am Armstrong Rajsingh, holding the Barclays Credit Card from June 2007.
              Last Sept 22nd I was recived a SMS from Barclays, My Barclays statement generated on 19/09/2008 and the same was delivered to my mailing address. As soon as I received the statement I was shocked, because they are debit / transfer the amount from my credit card without my knowledge or Permission.

              I called the customer care executive over the phone([protected]) and explained her, I am not interest in Barclays priority Circle. One day a telecaller called me over the phone that time I told her I am not interest in this . But she compel me again and again, I asked her to send the broucher or send the bank representative to explain me about the Barclays priority circle. Yet now I am not received any broucher or no one has to meet me regarding this. But your bank debited the money from my credit card account .so kindly reverse the money to my card account . She told me she cannot reverse the money, and she gave Barclays Chennai Priority telephone number43300301.
              Then I called that number and request her to reverse the amount. She told me that the amount will reverse within 72 hours.But no confirmation call from the bank side.Then on 8th Oct 2008. I sent e-mail to [protected]@barclays.com, [protected]@barclays.com and send the letter through St Courier on1st Oct 2008.Right now I am not receive any reply from the bank.

              Tellecaller peoples are harrassing me by calling continuously and threatening to pay the amount.

              Now I am very disappointed that the Barclay is troubling me by forcing to repay an amount, which is tranferred illegaly to their account without my consent.

                I am fed up with this bank’s poor services. They never send me statement till the first month I got the card. First month they send me the sms alert about my statement & i paid them. Second month they haven’t send me any information about my card. I wrote them about 20 times but in reply every time they write we will contact you in 7 working days. After the due date they keep on adding financial charges on my amount.
                I think this is policy of some banks to don’t send any statement to customer & charge interests & other financial charges

                  This is Adinarayana Reddy has been using Barclays Credit card from January 2008.In the month of August 20008 total outstanding was INR 27694/- and due date was 8 of September .I was made a payment of through online INR 27000/- on 5th of September 2008 it was reflected 7th of September 2008 on bank statement. Remaining INR 695/- I did not pay still yet. In The October 2008 month statement Barclays Bank charged DEBITINTR INR 1360/- + Service tax INR 168/- total:- 1550 they charged extra on October month statement it showing. the due date was 8 of this month what I will do for this issue, already I raised request Barclays customer care and I was send complaint mail to service center also they did not reply still today. Please help me for this issue as soon as possible.

                  Hi All,
                  This is with ref to BARCLAYS bank credit card service. I was holding PLC # 4339xxxx xxxx 76xx since somewhere June 2007. And after august 2008 the bank started to charge me Intrest charges & late payement charges. On the flip side, i was making all the payments on time. The payment details has been informed to calls i was getting from[protected] numbers. These calls i was getting daily 6-7 times.

                  But again and again the intrest and late payment charges has not been reversed back. Hence i decided to cancel the card by giving the payement due as per my record.

                  I tried to call BARCLAYS bank customer care # but it is out of order always in July 2008. So i have send email and given all clarification & asked for zero balance statement.

                  But till Dec 2008, i have not receievd zero balance statement. Bank has unnecessary levied extra charegs like late payment on top of it.

                  Then BANK started to send recovery agent to my home since 1st Dec, 2008.This is really bad as bank was sleeping when i have written mails etc.

                  Again i called at there toll free # on 18/12 and it was working. But BANK was not agree and asking me to make full payment of 6000/-

                  Finally after long discusssion, bank agreed for final settlement amount of Rs 920/- for that i have given cheque # and everything.

                  And finally i think i got rid of BARCLAYS bank. I suggest dont take BARCLAYS bank as this will keep you in problem.

                  Barclay Credit Card — high extra charges

                  10-jul-2008 , i recieved barclay card with the limit of Rs30000/- and i used Rs15000/- tiil Jan 2009, after that iam not using this credit card , Iam just paying the minimum amount everymonth , now i recieved the sattement dated on 19-aug-09 which is mentioning my credit limit is Rs18000/- and my total outstanding is Rs 18995.95 ,

                  I want to now where my amount gone and how they reduced the limit ? this is a trap and they are recieving my cash and not reducing from my outstanding

                    Dear Sir,
                    I am bringing this matter second time in your kind notice on last occasion a reverse mail was received by me assuring that Bank would take up the matter and do something in the customer favour. But I am sorry to say that I am repeatedly receving the barclay Account Statement with same errors and imposing late fee and other unjustified charges. I took this matter with with your customer executive ( Ms.Deepa ) on phone but she shown her inability to do something. I resubmit the entire matter again that on the persistent pursuance I was agreed to take baclay credit card as I was told that my credit limit would be Rs. 3 lakh with corresponding cash limit but When I received card I found that credit limit of credit card is just 15000/- instead of Rs. 3 lakh, this was first lie from the barclay Representative. Secondly I was told by the representative that I withdraw cash from any ATM barclay associated bank, There would be no interest or any charges for first 45 days thereafter nominal interest charges would be claimed. (this is second lie). On 25.6.2008 I withdrew Rs. 6000/- from ICICI Bank ATM delhi University through Barclay card. As soon as I withdrew this amount. Rs. 508.86 has been imposed with various charges with in 2 days of withdrawal. (This third lie from the bank) I brought this unjustive to the notice of bank immediately when I received the Statement. I clarified and asserted that I would not make the payment of these unjutified charges which bank had imposed. On 8th August 2008, I deposited a cheque for Rs. 6200/- ( 6000+200(as debit interest + service tax etc.) in good gesture on the part of customer in Skypack at shakti Nagar Delhi. Even making payment on due date Rs. 500 was levied as late fee and another statement for 19-8.2008 to 19.9.2008 was despatched to me showing a balance of Rs. 1659.37/-
                    Sir, as I have already clarified that I will not make any more payment against unjustified and unreasonable charges being levied on the customer by this way or that way. It appear that despite sending email, talking on phone, bank is not respoding positively or nor is bank rerservin these unjustifeid charges, Bank is adopting arbitrariy practice in banking Industry. I would like to bring to the officer concerned to look into the matter and it is quit clear that bank is violating all norms and rules. Because when promise is made by the representative of Barclay bank is not kept up is violation of terms and condition on the part of the bank but not on the part of the customer. I am just highligthing those things which were told to me and are being adhered by the bank itself. By this email, I also want to say I am surrendering the credit card by breaking it in many folds. In case this charges are reversed, I would be compelled to bring entire matter to Consumer Court alongwith legal expenses would be incurred in the proceedings alongwith harrassement expenses.

                    Barclays Credit Card — late fee charges

                    I had Barclays credit card, for which I had made request in month of December to be cancelled. At the time of making the request outstand due was less than 70 Rs, so the customer service agent suggested I need not pay anything, as the amount id below Rs 100 and my card/account will be cancelled immediately.

                    However, since than I have been getting statements month on month and the amount has now come to Rs 101.33. Had they told me to clear the amount in the first place I would have. Since than every month after receiving the statement I make the request to them to stop sending me these statements and they also promise about the same, but nothing has happened. Every month I spend not less that 30 mins of my time and call charges talking to their customer service executives, but no outcome. Can you please help me how can I now charge them for mental harresment?

                      Recently around 15 - 20 days back I have received a call from your priority circle department promising some free holidays, some travel bag.
                      first I got a call and was informed that I have qualified for your priority circle for which I will be receiving free gifts known to you.
                      I confirmed with the executive that if there are any charges I wont be interested
                      I was informed and assured that there are no charges attached to priority circle, it is being given after seeing your good relation with barclays.

                      During that call i was assured that all my conversation has been recorded on the phone. I have received 3 -4 calls regarding the same.

                      I somehow missed my creditcard payment this time. In this regard I have received one call today informing me that I have missed my payment.
                      I was shocked to see that Rs 24820 is the balnce payable by me.
                      I crossed cheque my statement with the call centre and I come to know that an amount of Rs 6700 has been charged for priority circle and because of this my card is running overdue..

                      Most important my card doesnt have limit more than Rs 20000. So how come you people have taken money from my credit card without informing me??
                      I find this situation very cheap.
                      I am spending considerable time in writing this note. I want some one to look in to this matter immediately and cancel the priority circle membership.
                      Secondly please put an enquiry on the conversation which took place between me and that foolish executive..

                      I have forwarded the same complaint to the Indian Consumer complaint forum. I wish to extend my complaint to the court if I dont receive any co operation from your side...

                      I spoke to some call centre executive today (Ref NO 152981 ).
                      My current issues are
                      1. You have charged me for priority circle Rs 6700 without my knowledge.
                      2. My card doesnt have limit more than 20000 on what grounds you deduct money and make my card overdue ??
                      3. You charged me overdue charges, You have charged late payment charges and you have charged interest on this amount...
                      4. Since 30th sept 08 after me talking to customer care and email sent to [protected]@barclays.com nobody has turned up
                      What type of treatment is this??
                      This is not justified...
                      I want clarification and waiver on this issue asap..

                      Same thing Happened to me As well. I spoke to the coustmer Care people today stating the same, I got a very Rude responce from them. I asked them to give me the details of the Corncern Depertment heads of their physical location, They didn't provide me any information as was told that that information is confidential.

                      Some action should be taken on these people. Its not the case with one or 2.. plenty of people are being traped by t hese people.

                      I have faced the same problem and moreover I came to know that I was charged 5000/- only when my credit card statement arrived and that too only 3 days before the due date. When I called them up, they informed me that there was no way they could reverse the charges since I had agreed to the scheme. For one thing, I could not understand the scheme on the phone so i had not agreed, and moreover, there are no benefits over and above what is already being given on Barclays Timescarsd, so why are they charging 5000/-? Only the holiday voucher is given but that is being given away for free by so many others and we are still not interested so why would I agree to pay 5000/- for that. the girl on the phone kept insisting that the scheme details are given on the website but if you check it out there is no mention of the scheme at all. And the girl at the call centre doesn't understand my queries and cannot explain properly. Why do they employ such inefficient people and then charge us unnecessarily and take us for a ride. What will happen if I do not pay the 5000/-? At the most they will cancel the card? That is preferable to making unwanted payment. Until now I had been recommending everyone to take this card, but now I will warn my friends about the fraud company.
                      I strongly agree with the fraud transaction done by the barclays card priority circle.Same thing Happened to me As well. I spoke to the coustmer Care executive and Priority circle sales guys many time and got a very Rude responce from them
                      Barclay Priority Card memebership and even Barcley priority card is really fraud. I am going to move to the consumer forum if they ask me to pay even a single penny.

                      A very important advice for all those using Barclay cards. Cancel your cards as soon as possible else they will cheat you.
                      i have same complaint, i had received a call from barclay priority circle which they offered me a free gift worth of rupees 2000/- a trolli beg, i refused the offer after that i found 6721 rupees has been diducted in my card account, i put a complain several time but i got a rude response from them, it was very pathetic, kindly advice me what should i do, should i diposite bill amount as bill date is 9 dec, or should i go in consumer forum, need your advice thanks
                      Do not pay a single penny to this people. nor entertain their card. what will happen at the most? they will deactivate the services. good for us if they do that. I have already wrote a email to deactivate the services... It is clear cheating. Even i am charged for Rr 6720/- let it go for a toss. i am not going to pay... and is they by mistake send gundas for recovery... trust me they will be in a BIG SERIOUS problem... I am just waiting them to mess with me... guys be united they can do nothing...
                      I am also being trapped into this offer and they are reluctant to cancel it. When I recieved the call I inquired 5-6 times whether it's free and the representative said yes it is except if I avail hotel facility. They are playing foul and there should be some method to bring them down to knees. Not making a payment will let them flag us as a defaulter with credit card bureaul, which has very bad consequences.

                        It is to acknowledge you that I Rohit sharma having a credit card with Barclaycard India.My credit card no is ([protected]).I would like to tell you that around 40 days back I received a call from them regarding a Priority Circle Membership and was told if I go for this I will have to pay RS 5000+service tax.I clearly told that person who called me up that first you send me the written proof stating or indicating all the discount and privileges available.But without sending any written documents to me I was billed with the above mentioned amount.I called the Barclay card Priority Cirlcle people and told tham that I want to cancel this policy.They asked me the problem I told them but even after they didn't cancel it and refused to cancel when I made a lot of calls.I called the customer care people as well but was not provided with appropriate response.Now they are calling me around 10 times in a day regarding making the payment.if no action is taken at the earliest than I will have to lodge a complaint in Consumer Court of India for fraud and physically harassing me.Than I will demand compensation from you people as well, for mind and physical disturbance and harassment.I request you to take an action at your earliest.I shall be highly obliged.

                        These Bank should be taught a lesson that just giving a lucrative offer to consumer to sell their service is not only job they do but also make false promises . Even my husband had a very bad experience with Barclay they made lot of promises and after we got the card it was very astonishing for us that they even refused that a person who sold the card to us ever worked with them .

                        This is totally unethecial the way these private bank do their operation. Govt has to take action against these private Banks and these banks should also abide with RBI rules.

                          Hi,
                          My name is M.V.S.Kumar. I have received Barclays Platinum Yatra.com Credit Card on 31st July 2008. I have called customer care every alternate day for my pin. After several repeated complaints I received the pin on 15th of September 2008. As per the welcome KIT received along with the new card my credit limit is Rs. 63, 000/- and the cash limit is Rs. 25, 200/- (i.e., 40% of Credit limit). But when I tried to use my card for cash transactions after receiving the pin my card is being declined for the reason insufficient funds. When I complained the same to the customer care from the day I received the pin they are bluntly saying the reason that there is some technical problem with the card set-up and each and every officer to whom I have spoke is asking for 2 working days time for rectification. As on today 25.09.2008 the cash limit in the system is not rectified. I want a solution for the same.

                            I have been using this Barclays Card for quite a long time and from the day I started using this card I facing lots of problems.
                            You can please verify my records on this. Now there is a completely new problems arising. There was a balance of Rs.23.00 which the Barclays people
                            Called me several time to send persons to collect the Amount of Rs.23.00. for which due to frustration I agreed to that. One quite day they sent your representative to my Address to collect the amount of Rs:23.00. I paid the same through cash. And once I received my next statement I was shocked. To see
                            That there was a charges of Rs.113.00 Outstanding the reason was given as Cheque Pick up charges. Your people never communicated this. Kindly tell me is it fair on Barclays to Cheat the customers like this. For the Payment of Rs.23.00 I need to pay Rs.23.00+ Rs.113.00 as cheque pick up charges. Fine I even paid that on 7th August 2008 (through Cheque) wherein the due date was 8th August 2008. The next statement gave me an another great shock. Rs.500.00 Late payment fees. + 12.36% Tax. What kind of business is this, And by mistakenly I had used this card for Rs.15000.00 and convert the same in to EMI. The due was on 8th September 2008 and the payment made by me was on 3rd September 2008. Thinking Barclays would be doing good kind of business. This proved me Again Wrong. Seeing my statement for the month of September. There is another late payment charges of R.500.00+12.36% Tax. What does Barclays doing in favour of the customers. Is this the way to treat the customer. And grabbing money from the customers. I have decided I don’t want to use The Barclays card In my life I would like to surrender the card right away. Please calculate the amount which has to paid by me Cancel all EMI Deduct the interests. Tell me the exact figure that has to be paid. I have never seen such a Banking peoples in my life. And I would always suggest my family member & friends not to even apply for Barclays Card. Now the only thing I require Barclays to help me out is to Revert the 2 Late payment fees. And give me the credit on the same. And cancel the EMI option which I opted from Barclays. And Cancel My Barclays card which I don’t want hereafter.

                              I am using ht eBarclay bank's credit card, i was supposed to pay my last month bill on my due date. But unfortuntely i didn't pay it. After that Custome care told me that you have to pay the bill with late payement. Then i told them that any way late payments is same for upto next bill, so that i will pay it on next due date. But aftrer some days bank people taken payment by convincing me that no late payment is necessary if i paid minimum amount, and i did it. But at last i got the late fee in my next bill. So kindly take an action on Bank dept for cheating me.

                              I am using the Barclay bank's credit card, but I am not getting the statements since four months.I was supposed to pay my April month bill on my due date. But due to ill health i didn't pay it.

                              1) The bill desk contacted in last week of May and informed me that my outstanding amount is 56, 640/- and if I pay 6714/- by June 1, my late payment charges will be removed and it will be reflected in the July month statement with out standing of 45, 500/- Then I paid cash to the executive on specified date.


                              2) After that again the bill desk contacted me and told me my out standing amount will be 41, 000/- if I pay an amount of Rs.1600/- by 14 th of July, and they will be sending the statement with executive. I paid the amount. But I did not receive the statement till now.

                              3.Again I received a call from bill desk that my out standing is 59, 000/-, So kindly take further necessary action on the persons contacted me on behalf of bank and send the revised statements to me.

                                I had a Barclay Bank Credit card vide no [protected] which was stolen in the month of April 2008 and a transaction was made by withdrawing a sum of Rs. 20, 000/-. I had blocked the card the moment I came to know about the incidence and had paid the entire amount to avoid ay interest on the same. I had made a complaint about the same and heard from the bank that the complaint had been forwarded to the Fraud Control Department and I would be contacted further for the resolution of my case but I never received a call back.

                                I was instead surprised to see that Interest was charged on the same and thus, I contacted the customer service desk. I was told that Cash withdrawal involves Interest charges from immediate effect. I thus decided to pay and dropped a cheque (chq no 814017) amounting Rs 1611.00 as per the statement. I then received a call from the Customer Service Desk saying the cheque was not signed, (which I don’t think I can ever do) but thinking an oversight I dropped a cheque again with the same amount (chq no 814021). But, the problem did not end there, I then got one statement next month where again some interest charges was showing. I contacted the Customer Service Desk and nothing happened. I started ignoring the calls and sms messages I got from the Bank thinking that there must be some confusion about the payment and I will sort it out once I get a call from the Customer Service Desk. But to my surprise, it has been more than 6 months now, and I am getting statements every month with the charges getting multiplied every time and nobody tries to solve the problem. I get not less than 30 sms messages a day reminding me about the payment, throughout the day I receive system generated automatic calls where the other person does not speak anything and you have not spared my nights and early mornings as well due to which I have to keep my mobile switch off when I am not in office. I have written e-mails describing the same not less than 20 times till now and I have tried explaining this to every customer service agents who called (I think I know the names of all the agents by now) but all in vein. Whenever somebody from the desk calls me, I have to begin my story from the beginning as they never give any reference no to the conversation we had with the prior callers.

                                  This is to notify that the barclay credit card which i m using has unnecssaary charged me the fine of rs 1683. this is to notify that there minimum amt was on the date of 2nd of september08 and i have been dropped my cheque on 30th of august in the sky pack box which is offered by the company itself located in borivali. I spoke to the customer care executive about the charges he denied and refused to reverse the charges. His name was azis and also refused to talk to his senior ammending that he is busy and cant talk to you now . I wasted my time and the money giving calls to customer care and going to the branch but all waste.

                                  I saw ur site in the tv and thought been the last chance to refund my money which is unnecssary charged to me.

                                  Hope you do the earliest as soon as possible.

                                    I have placed a request for the change of address on 26th Aug-08 and it is very shamefull to know that till now no action has been taken from the bank.
                                    After repeatitive calling to Customer care, still issue is pending apart from this the Customer Care is even in competent to handle the quiries.
                                    This is the last reminder else i would be going to Consumer Forum as i have paid some amount for joining Priority circle and I likely to recieve some Gift Voucher which have been dispatched already to Old address as i have reieved the SMS for Barclay Customer care at the below mentioned cell no.
                                    In case the same is delivered at the old address then that amount becomes the Liability of Barclay Bank

                                      I would like to inform you service of Barclays is in a very pathetic state which leaves user with no choice but to either approach consumer court or lodge a police complaint.

                                      My name is Sulakshan Sonawane and my credit card number is [protected]. I am working as Assistant Manager at a MNC and earning gross 35K per month.

                                      I am using Citibank Credit Card since past two years and don't have a single late payment charge applied till date. I am having a loan worth 2 lac with kotak mahindra bank but never ever i had payed my EMI late. And after having such a good credit profile it is being hampered because of Barclays Card.

                                      I recently had a balance transfer from my Citibank credit card on 11th july'2008 and was required to make a payment of minimum amount due by 29th aug'08. I enquired customer care about the skypak drop box and was told to deposit at ( Nerul, Shiravne ) location and so i deposited on 19th august. Cheque number is 997491. But till 29th August cheque never got cleared and on 30th i was informed that we didnt received your payment so can we send a executive for cash payment.

                                      I clearly informed CSR that i have made cheque payment but still if you have not yet received i would make cash payment but no late payment charges should be applied as i have deposited the cheque to the drop box told to me by Barclays customer service representative and if it was not cleared at your end it is not my mistake so he agreed and i made the cash payment of 1950 /- I have attached the receipt of the same with the mail.

                                      Still after few days i got message we have not received your payment by due date pay rs 1950 immediately or contact us on[protected]. I called this number many times but was never able to speak to anyone. I was neither receiving dial tone nor busy. It was just getting disconnected. Finally i realized that i am being fooled.

                                      1 First i was told to make payment by drop box whose cheque was never cleared.

                                      2 Was made to make cash payment which never reflected.

                                      3 I was getting message to make payment of 1950 even after sending cheque and making cash payment.

                                      4 Few days later i got message your account has been suspended till you make minimum payment of rs. 3830. You may contact us on[protected]. Again same story my telephone call is charged but i was never able to hear anything from other end. So one thing was confirmed i am being forced to late payment charges and duped for rs 1950 cash payment.

                                      1 Finally i have decided to approach Consumer Court. I have all the relevant proof's to prove the cheat.

                                      2 I will be registering a police complaint against you.

                                      3 I would make all the payments and close this card and would never ever use Barclays Card.

                                      But one thing is sure though i would make payment i would not forgive Barclays for all the torture and financial cheats they have done and close this card on urgent basis but i would never agree to pay the late payment fee or RS. 500 whether i have to fight for it in court.

                                        i am holding your Barclays gold card from Jan 2008 and then after i had started using the same and always i make timely payments with full amount due on my card but two months ago i had a payment dur of around Rs.600/- which i had made very well in advance (3 days before my due date) but i dont know what went wrong for colloction of Chq / whatever may be the reasons i have been charged around Rs.600/- as late payment charges & interest copmponent attached thereon

                                        i had made complaint regarding this matter twice but no satisfactory response found from your part

                                        here i just want to make a request rearding reversal of all the cherges to my account till date or else otherwise i will have to discountinue with services of your card by surrendering my card

                                        I had a Barclay Gold card No.[protected] isued in Nov.07 After that I used this card for some item purchase.I not received any statement from you, after 50 days there was a call for me to pay Rs 1379=00 I paid the same amount by central bank of India cheque no.331731 for clear my dues, after that I received a call for late charges of Rs 427=00, Ipaid this amount also by cheque No.719678 (of ICICI Bank Ltd.) on date 1-06-08, after that I received a call/message from [protected] to pay Rs. 1314.99 two payments overdue.Please check and conferm me with full detail.
