Dear All

I have purchased All season Shoe from Bata Show room onne month back & its Sole has detached from upper part on one side.

The interior flap has come out that is not sticking properly & now after week they are saying it is not possible to repair we will do stitching . I donot know they will go to outsider Cobbler do mending of show & will say that it has been done at factory.

Why they are not replacing the shoe if it is not repairable & cheating Customers as we are paying high in order to get good quality & service

bata india ltd.hubli — not giving full discount

I am juned from miraj .i was gone for shopping in bata shoes house in station road hubli.at 21-07-10.
In that shop company approve 80% discount for the shoes but manager not giving 80% discount he was giving up to 60%.that is too bad and his behavior is too bad with the customer.



so plzzzzzzzz sir take action on this shops manager.

Sir at 21-07-10 I was there in hubli for shopping in your station road bata shop.Company was approve 80%disc. on many articles but manager was not giving full 80% .He give upto 60% He is CHEATING WITH CUSTOMER AS WELL AS WITH COMPANY.He is very bad man, his name is VENKATESH also his nature is not good with customers.
so my kind request to u take hard action on it plzzzzzz
Otherwise bata will loose its standard.

I logde a complaint regardig poor qualitiy Power Bata shoe.After tha I receive this mail from Customer Services.
Dear Mr. Singh,

As per the information provided by you and the feedback taken from the store as a special case we extend to you a 100% replacement for the pair shoes being held by you. Please note the following with respect to the replacement


1. If the same pair (article number / model) and size is available at the store we will provide you with the same pair at 100% of the cost


2. If the same pair (article/model) is not available in the store (due to non availability of same model, size, color etc) you can avail the replacement (in this case also you will have to submit the damaged shoe to us) in value terms. It means that whatever value of the shoe was paid by you we will adjust 100% of the same value against your next purchase from the store.

3. Please note that there is no cash refund.

4. Damaged pair have to be submitted to Bata for replacement - mandatory

5. THE ABOVE APPROVAL FOR 100% REPLACEMENT IS VALID TILL 31th July 2010.


We would request if you could visit our BATA SHOE STORE at Rani Bagh, New Delhi and get in touch with the Store Manager Mr.Batra for the needful.

Kindly carry that shoe submission slip of pitampura store with you.

    i have purchased a power sandal from bata showroom 50 days back. and now the sole of the sandal has been cut. my problem is inspite of paying so much money for quality product why are we given such a low quality product. the shop is located at bhayander near maxus mall. they showroom is ready to compensate only 50% of the amt bt my question is why are we given such a bad quality product at such high cost. even after paying 50% i feel like not buying from the same showroom. they don't have collection which fits to my budget.

    Dear sir

    i have purchased shoes from Bata Show room from Iscon Mall at Surat. its sole was break down within 20 days from purchase. i told him to replace it but they told me to purchase another new shoes price of more than Rs.1600/- and get discount of Rs. 400/- on it.
    as i have purchased it on the name of BATA now i am not getting satisfactory response from your side. Now tell me what to do??

      I am a regular customer of Bata associated for around 15 years.

      Recently i have purchased a shoe from Adyar Bata showroom during end of Feb'2010 on sale. The same was purchased for Rs 960 after discount. The shoe no. is[protected].

      The same was hardly used in the last few months and the top layer of leather is worn out and looks ugly inspite of me travelling regularly in car and also use other 3 pairs alternatively.

      I was suprised to see the quality of shoe and as result i have approached the bata showroom of Adyar where i have purchased my shoe yesterday since i was on tour.

      The showroom staff replied after seeing my shoe that there is a possibility of defects while manufacturing and this could be one of such case. Hence he has asked to contact you directly.

      Since the above mentioned shoe was purchased recently and hardly being used i would request for a replacement of the same immdtly.

      This incident has shared the image & trust which i have entrusted in Bata for the last 15 years.

      look man i bought redtape shoe worth 2500 and in 6 month, its worn out.
      so what then i bought another one worth 5000 from hush puppies..
      buy a new one.its so simple

          Hello Sir,

          I bought a pair of Bata Leather Sandle from Bata India Limited, Bata Shoe Store, SCO 19, Sector - 17 E, Chandigarh, Ph :[protected] of Rs. 824.[protected], size 3, Qutantity - 1, MRP - 1099.00 after discount 25% 824.25)

          The sandles rubber polish started vanishing after two days (after one day of wearing). I went to the outlet on the second day but he said that only manufacturing defects can be sorted out and it is not a manufacturing fault, if the sandle tears off then only it is possible to exchange. He also told us that he can go for a polish which would cost Rs. 500, but when it is a manufacturing defect then why should i pay Rs. 500 to them? It is a purely loot in this case. It is a manufacturing fault and not any other issue.

          If these branded companies have this kind of behaviour towards the customer then why should a customer go for the branded products? Bata company outlets are really not doing an ethical job as these are not having a positive response towards the customer and they simply turn off their face from the matter.

          I there by have an appeal that if not then atleast the outlet's owner should be charged against the matter. I hope to hear back with some positive response.

            non availability of replacements straps of Hawai chappals

            1.I had purchased Hawai chappals from Bata outlet one year back.One of the straps broke.As the chappals were is fairly good condition as I was only occasionally using them indoors so I went to their outlet at Bata chowk,NIT,Faridabad to buy replacement straps.However the outlet manager told me that they do not keep spares and I should buy new ones.

            Complaint about product - Quality is terrible now. I purchased shoes for Kid, within 1month the inner sole came out, pasting of sole came out - I got it repaired outside. I purchased chappal for my wife - the strap came out in the train and we had to throw it, asked my brother who came to receive to bring a pair of chappal for her to get down from train. Purchased school (black) shoes for daughter - buckle rivet came out within 2 weeks !!! What's happening at Bata - there was a time, when I used to admire the quality - now its pickpocket ! we spend so much for name but the quality is worst than road side products..

            I have kept photos, if Bata people interested I can send.

              I have purchased 1 pair of shoes of BATA company on 23/5/2010 of Rs. 699 after 1-2 days his shole gets bad.... its slip from the position then i change it on 29/05/2010 i am not able to go on time for complaint due to my job work , & get new shoes of Rs. 749 but that shoes also not giving to me comfortable , it is paing on my foot..... so i agin complaint on that shop but they not listen my complaint , i request to you to do reasonable with thats why i was purchase a company shoes......

              I humble request to you for change my shoes or return my money ..... i also spends my 100 Rs. for transport i goes from Noida to Delhi....

              i want to clam on that comapny for BAD quality of shoes , who is not giving satisfaction to customer.
              it is true...
              i m satisfied with these complaints...

                I buyed a pair of shoe from a bata shoe store, Dhamawala,(Dehradun) on 11 April 2010. After 3 or 4 days the sole of the shoe dislodged, and I gave a call to the shoe store from which I purchased the shoe and they told me that the manager is not present and they will not change the shoe rather will repair it. The problem is I weared it for only 3 or 4 days and it got damaged and now they have stiched the shoe.It looks really awkward that a new pair of shoe is repaired and then what is the use of buying a new pair of shoes. I could have buyed it a shoe of a low quality but I thought, a shoe of a branded company would be durable. But I was wrong.

                bata shoes — Poor Quality

                My wife bought a pair of Scholls sandals and wore them for 2 months ;thereafter they were put back in the box as she had to go out of the country. Imagine the surprise when she came back and found the stitches giving way at the sole.
                On complaining to the shop ,I was told that these shoes MUST be worn regularly or the sole shreds.
                I wrote to the Bata shoe company head office in India 2 months ago and am still awaiting a reply.
                Suggestion:- DO NOT BUY BATA SHOES. THE QUALITY STINKS.

                I have to Bata shoes there are many problems in my shoes within 3-4months from date of buying shoes.
                I had complaint to company customer service but there is no reply from company side after one time response last 10-15 days.
                So please go through my complaint and look after it.
                BATA's quality is like pick pocketing customer.

                  I have bought a pair of Bata chappels on[protected] from the showroom near to Kundalahalli gate , Bangalore. I wore the chappal only once & the same day its pasting came out. I went to the showroom taking this defective piece and the way the Store Manager behaved to us was really shocking. He was literally shouting at us as if we have done some mistake. Since its been only 5 days after my purchase , he is not even ready to replace the defective piece of chappal. He is not giving any guarantee that the pasting will not go off even if its repaired.

                  I have been using the Bata products from my childhood, but now I wont trust in their quality because of my personal experince. Morever the behaviour of the Store Manager was shocking to me, if this is the way the manager is behaving to the customer, then I will never prefer anyone to go BATA showroom for purchasing .

                  Please advice whom should I contact for raising complaint against the Store Manager of Bata showroom.

                    Dear Sir,

                    Re: Shoes - Proudct Code 891-6000 Size-7 Black MRP Rs. 1499/-


                    I had purchased above product from your Siddhi Vinayak showroom from Ahmedabad, Gujarat before six-eight months. Generally i keep one pair of shoes extra and do not use immediately. After I started using the pair within a short period of one month the pasting of sole was opened. I gave it to your showroom and was pasted by them. But again after 40-50 days the pasting was opened and the whole sole was removed when I was in a function. I was put in a very shameful position.

                    Again I went to your showroom and inquired about the quality of the shoe. When I purchased I was told that the shoes are of pure leather. Now the Branch Manager Mr.Jitendra says that the material of the shoes is synthetic and not pure leather.we keep leather shoes and synthetic shoes at different places and so on...... He also told that if within fifteen days the pasting is opened we will not replace the shoes and give back after pasting. He also told that I can repair the shoes by stitching the sole with upper as that is the best solution and we do not give any guarantee for pasting, it may open any time.On the box containing the shoe pair there is no mention of quality of material used i.e. leather , synthetic etc.On your website I tried to find out the product with it's code no. But I could not find it. The product no.891-4000 resembles the product code 891-6000 , but you have not mentioned the material used in product 891-4000 ????????

                    If you really keep the shoes according to quality i.e..leather shoes, rubber shoes, synthetic material shoes etc. you should keep a board mentioning the quality of the material used in the shoes.

                    I request you to replace the shoes as there is no permanent solution of it.

                      I purchased your Bata Sandals (model no:5716019 SPRING) on 21/02/2010 from your shop at Brodipet, Guntur (Andhra Pradesh)
                      They are defective and upper layer tear off within a week.
                      Your Manager is saying that they will replace it at 50%.
                      In that way i will loose Rs.200/-.
                      why should i loose Rs.200/- without any fault on my side
                      your sandals are defective, we used to purchase your articles with the intension that they are of good quality.
                      But we need to change our opinion.
                      I hope you will do the necessary justice as early as possible.

                        This is to reference of product (Sandal) which I have bought it on 15th, Feb.2010 bearing invoice number 15-02-10/1/0015 03492 from Bata India ltd. located at 12/2 Mathura Road , Destination Mall, Faridabad. But after two to three weeks o[censored]se, I have found that sole of the sandal was cracked badly and same has been address to the Bata India representative on 15th, Mar.2010. When I have asked the reason for the same, the representative stated that its happens some time and assured us to correct the same. When I have asked the receipt for receiving the sandal form representative of Bata india Ltd. , he has refused give it and said that they are going to repair the product locally not from Bata india ltd. So they can’t issue receipt for the same but after forcing them to provide the receipt they have written on top of the bill “Pair deposit for repair and 75% claim.
                        then after few day they have called us to collect the sandal but when I have received the sandal I have found sand sole was not replaced and still cracked sloe was repaired by some adhesive and not up to the mark. As per best of knowledge once any bottom sloe of any shoe or sandal get cracked it need to bereplace instead of repaired by the adhesive.
                        When we have not accepted the delivery ,the representative has offered us to choose any product of value of 75 % but I said this is not matter of money its all about the quality of product. If the product got faulty either they should repair it or replace it if its beyond repair instead of offering value of 75%.
                        Since I have not accepted the sandal and it is still lying with the vendor. I have suspect on product whether it genuine or not so you are requested to investigate the matter and do the needful on urgent basis.

                        We have return couple of mail to bata but they said they will give us only 50% discount on sandal instead of replacement or repair. Since the product in under warranty they should replace it.
                        Kindly look into the matter.

                        Since the product comes under warranty, 50% amount is not acceptable . We have not used this product more than month and sole of product got cracked that shows the inferior quality of product. This product even comes under warranty up to the 75 days and Bata has to repair or change the product in case of beyond repairable.

                        So you requested to let us know the reason why the Bata denying to repair or change the product in case of beyond repairable.

                        Pls. also share yor numbers and e-mail –id of customer grievance service.

                        This is to reference of product (Sandal) which I have bought it on 15th, Feb.2010 bearing invoice number 15-02-10/1/0015 03492 from Bata India ltd. located at 12/2 Mathura Road , Destination Mall, Faridabad. But after two to three weeks o[censored]se, I have found that sole of the sandal was cracked badly and same has been address to the Bata India representative on 15th, Mar.2010. When I have asked the reason for the same, the representative stated that its happens some time and assured us to correct the same. When I have asked the receipt for receiving the sandal form representative of Bata india Ltd. , he has refused give it and said that they are going to repair the product locally not from Bata india ltd. So they can’t issue receipt for the same but after forcing them to provide the receipt they have written on top of the bill “Pair deposit for repair and 75% claim.
                        Today they have called us to collect the sandal but when I have received the sandal I have found sand sole was not replaced and still cracked sloe was repaired by some adhesive and not up to the mark. As per best of knowledge once any bottom sloe of any shoe or sandal get cracked it need to bereplace instead of repaired by the adhesive.
                        When we have not accepted the delivery ,the representative has offered us to choose any product of value of 75 % but I said this is not matter of money its all about the quality of product. If the product got faulty either they should repair it or replace it if its beyond repair instead of offering value of 75%.
                        Since I have not accepted the sandal and it is still lying with the vendor. I have suspect on product whether it genuine or not so you are requested to investigate the matter and do the needful on urgent basis.

                        Bata India — not received the product

                        i have purchased a pair of shoes from bata india website on 26th july 2011 but i have not received the product yet. my order no. is 10020933, i called the customer care which is not responding nobody receives the call i was able to talk to them only once and i was assured that the product will be delivered to me within 2 days but the didnot happened. This gives me a very bad impression of bata india and i am never gonna purchase any product from bata india. Now i have no option but to go to the consumer court

                          I picked up a BATA shoe on sale at Chennai Near T Nagar when I was travelling to Chennai. On return to Bangalore, I realised that it was defective and went to return it at R.T.Nagar branch.I was told to come back after a few days as the manager was on leave.

                          Next time I was told to go to Shivaji nagar outlet and exchange it.

                          Why should the customer run from pillar to post when BATA is the culprit.

                          I have not even used the shoe ones. I have the bills as well. I just want to caution everyone that BATA is just become a discount brand, not a quality brand that it once stood for.

                            I am a very satisfied customer of BATA , but right now I think that i have to rethink about that,Because recently I have purchased a pair of chappal (Style no.:[protected] from one of your outlets in Coimbatore on 12th February 2010, and after ten days the outer colored layer of
                            both the chappals started to tear, and by 18th March 2010 the sole of one of the chappal completely broken into two pieces.

                            I have even checked with your official website that the outer layer of the chappal is made of leather and the sole of the chappal is made of rubber i don't think if the product is made up of these materials it should not break.

                            When i took the product on the same day to the same outlet on[protected] your BATA officials said that i will be able to exchange any other product for 75% of the amount of money which i have paid for the product which i have purchased note down that the product is a brand new one.

                            So I am not satisfied with the quality of your products.. Hence I am not willing to exchange the product with another one so better refund the amount and here after i wont buy any of your products.

                            I have also attached the scanned copy of the cash memo and the picture of your product.

                            I have mentioned the address of the outlet from where i have purchased the product......

                                Greetings of the day.
                                I am an employee of Bata India Ltd.
                                I have been transferred to Satna(MP) .from nadiad (GUJ),1200 kms away,this is violation of agreement between our trade union (Bata shop employees union Kolkata).More over they (Bata management) are debiting the salary of the employees and denying them there leaves,pressuring them to join management and threatening to terminate the services.
                                Sir,this is happening with almost all the remaining employees.
                                As the management knows that if any employee went to labor court ,it will take lot of time to settle this issue.
                                So they are transferring the employees to other state to get rid .
                                Our union seems to be helpless in this matter.
                                So I would urge you to kindly look into the matter and help us.

                                I purchased a Power shoes of your company(Bata) from BATA SHOE STORE THE FLAGSHIP STORE FD-7 Pitam Pura -34, on 26th March' 10, my recept no. 4400.                                 We have taken a pair of Bata Sparx sandals and found that the print on that started vanishing after 2 hrs of purchase. This Disappointed us a lot. We were not even informed before the sales person that the print will vanish very soon. This is very disgusting. We jsut felt not toshop in Bata. When we consulted the manager of the show room he just left the issue by saying that we are not responsbile for that. If he would have told that the print will vanish so soon we would have preffered the other model. This is the way u people are cheating the customers. Lost our hope on brand...

                                  i bought a shoe wide CM- 23 on 02/02/10 from G -65, Metropolitian Mall , gurgaon. the shoe has given me a lot of problem whenever i worn for an hour. i went to the outlet today but they didn't behave well and denied to do the needfull. definitely this is not a matter of just Rs.1299/- but much more than that because it has allready caused damage to my skin on the feet. this is the first time i have faced such problem with any shoes. my office is in lajpat nagar but i went to gurgaon just for this problem and they didn't entertain. definitely i will be not be going again to gurgaon for the same work. i have allready spent alot of money for going there and for the damage it has caused to my skin.

                                    I, Mehraj Quraishi has purchased a pair of shoes worth Rs.1399/- on 10/11/2009 from Bata Shoes Showroom located at Byculla Bridge, Mirza Galib Marg, Mumbai 400 008. The pair of shoes brought by me were of inferior quality and has some minor defect which was not detected by me at the time I purchased the shoes. After less then one month, where I had just used the pair of shoes couple of times only, the sole had major cracks.

                                    At the very instant I personally contacted the concern shop, however the attitude and approach of the show vendor was very rude and blunt. He gave option only to replace the sole with some ordinary sole and not with the sole of Bata. They completely denied to replace or repair the shoes to the standard of Bata and further bluntly inform me to go to the concern Consumer Court and rub my shoes in order to get the justice. They even tease and used uneasy language to instigate me to indulge into fight or use abusive language.

                                    I, Anand Solanki has purchased a pair of bata shoes worth Rs.899/- + S T on 10/6/2009 from Bata Shoes Showroom located at New Market, Bhopal. The pair of bata shoes brought by me were of inferior quality and has major defect which was not detected by me at the time I purchased the shoes. After less then two month, where I had just used the pair of shoes couple of times only, the the leather eroded.

                                    At the very instant I personally contacted the concern shop, however the attitude and approach of the show vendor was very rude and blunt.                                       Can you think of any brand for leather shoes? An Indian with ‘need-based’ shopping habits won’t be able to think beyond Bata. But from my experience with Bata products over the last couple of years, I think it is high time we start looking for other brands. Here is my story of a 1500 rs pair of shoes that lasted less than 6 months - and I didn’t play football with them!

                                      My dad had purchased a pair from the Flexology range of shoes at Bata’s Goregaon (W) outlet in April. The looks of the shoes was great, and so was the price - Rs.1499 to be precise. Me & my dad are both very fond of shoes, and always take real care of the shoes. The shoes were purchased for a marriage and then were kept aside during the monsoons.After some time when using it at work, I realized that whenever I walked over little water, my socks would get wet. Initially I thought that the shoe had a little opening in the front from where water kept seeping in. One day, out of curiosity, I turned the shoe over to find that the soul of the shoe had cracked, or rather sheared, right through. And guess what, same was the case with the other one.                                       I wasted no time in searching for the bill. On studying it, I realized that since it is over 75 days, I was not eligible for replacement. I went to thebata website to lodge a complaint. The reply was very prompt, and I appreciated it. They had asked for details of the purchase and the article number that is unique to each shoe. They suggested that I take it to the store I bought from and that they would do the needful.

                                      On reaching the store, I was told that Bata had instructed them to either repair the soul or give me a waiver of Rs.750 on another purchase. I literally got mad! I had purchasedshoes worth Rs.1500, and in less than 6 months they were half the value. Moreover, I did not want to spend anymore on Bata shoes. I went ahead with the repair, and was told that it would take a week. As expected, there was a delay but I got the shoes. Have a look at the post-repair photos!

                                      The condition of the shoes had further worsened. The mending had made the shoes look very strange. Moreover, changing the soul required that the body of the shoe be cut to fit the new soul. The so-called leather had already started shredding. I pointed this out at the store and they told me that this is not even leather. When I buy Rs.1500 leather shoes from Bata, I believe that I am getting the best leather. And now someone is telling me that its not leather! In no time, the surface had started dropping off, exposing the inner canvas.

                                      I am extremely displeased with the quality of the product. Quality is central to everything - be it a pen, T-shirt, car or software. I had used theshoes with extreme care, the body is evident of the fact. However, shearing of the soul at the same place for the pair indicates nothing but poor quality of manufacture. Due to the shearing, the rexine near the crack had wrinkled, after which I stopped wearing theshoes. But this is not the first time with Bata. My mother had the same shoes with her shoes she used for her walk. For my whole life I have owned Bata formal shoes - not worn but owned; that’s my love for my shoes. But the last couple of years, the quality has gone to the dogs. You should have seen the inside of my shoes, the material had literally eroded.

                                      For years, Indians have known nothing besides Bata. Its a 100 year old international brand that has been trusted for generations. Bata should be check the kind of distrust they are cultivating in customers, who know no other brand. I don’t know how serious they are about customer feedback; but if I were them, I would be deeply concerned. As a customer, I really do not see a reason to continue the loyalty, because if a product purchased at a non-discounted price of Rs.1499, does not last a quarter and fractures, its time people move on.

                                      The purpose of this post is not to get refund or a new article, and their waiver does not excite me at all. A genuine apology and replacement of theshoes, that I love so much, with the same model is all I want. For the curious, I still have the shoes packed in a bag.
