I have sent a mail to customer care on 7th July 2021, ( complaint # 70303 ) regarding order # AI[protected] sub order no. # AI[protected] ). I have received defective product. Shade for both footwear is different & so, have asked to replacement.
Return pick up was done by company but till date refund not received.
Every time while called, they are asking for 4-5 working days but no confirmation.

              In view of my purchased one pair shoes for my daughter (photo enclosed herewith) on 2019 at the time of Daurga puja from your Triangular park branch, it is deep pity to inform you that now the shoes are not wearable anymore. I have no cashmemo at present but the box is here.
              After purchasing a shoes by Rs.4000 on 2019, have to reject now.
              Being a BATA company it is very much unexpected and unfortunate.

                Order number AI[protected]. I went to a Bata store and ordered a shoe of 999 Rs from there on 23 July, got it delivered on 27 July. Returned it on 08 August and shared Bank account details for getting refund.

                They told me to wait 3-5 days, so I again called on 13 August. I was told the same again. Again called on 18 August. They said 48 hrs then.

                On 20 August I called twice. First time, a woman said the refund was initiated yesterday but she then sent me their usual system-generated mail that "I have made a note of the concern raised by you. You may be rest assured, I will get the same resolved for you in maximum of next 4 to 5 working days", the same as the ones they have sent me after every call the past days.

                Then I called again and a man first said refund was initiated, then said he's raised a concern and refund will be initiated in 4-5 days. I told him that they are all liars and I'll go to the police. He kept saying the same thing.
                They don't respond to email.

                The store manager is no good either. He is also not cooperating. He says he'll call and ask but never does. I'm feeling hopeless.

                I've recorded every call and I'm thinking of going to the police. This is pure fraud case. Happened to a lot of people, I can see on Google.

                Attached the last mail the first woman sent me. The format is same for all mails, they have been sending it to me after every call.

                24 August - Finally I got a message with link of Payu to get the refund. I went to the link and it required me to put my bank account or ipo details to get the refund. So, Bata customer support took my bank details for nothing, just for show. If they cared they would initiate the refund themselves in the shared Bank account. They didn't mail me anything or call me . Instead I initiated refund by putting my upi in the Payu link and today 26 August I have finally received the refund of 999. I don't know if this is because I posted it here or the manager insisted more, but I know this, I'm never buying anything from Bata again.

                The store manager called me an hour later and told me that he had talked with customer support too and he was informed that several refunds were held and they initiated all of those yesterday. So, I have to wait another 4-5 days. I took that with a grain of salt. When I told the manager that the customer support have been lying to me and I caught them red-handed on my last call, he said "whatever the customer support told you verbally doesn't matter, the emails they have sent you matter. Bata does their customer support through a 3rd party company, and so, the company is doing this". The manager is another manipulative businessman, it turns out. I have learnt from this experience to never shop from their stores or website ever again.

                22 August - Visited the store. The manager first said "I told you to wait 5 days" in such way as if I was doing something utterly inappropriate. He then said that the company mailed him asking why the customer returned the shoes. He showed it to me too. Then my 1st question was I had already told them that with photos on mail on 8 August. Why are they asking now and even that to you but not me, the customer? He neglected it. Then I asked is that why they are delaying the refund?? He neglected that too.

                I told him what I told the customer support through mail, the outer sole is poor, it's not worth 999 Rs. Then the manager started saying that I was talking rubbish, that I have no right to complain about the sole. I tried to tell him that a customer has the right to complain about anything if they don't like it. No matter whatever reason the customer returns a product, the company must refund the money since the return was already accepted and the product was already picked up 2 weeks ago. He kept telling the same thing that I was talking rubbish.

                Even raising your voice and arguing doesn't help if the customer care and manager are together trying to rob your money and doesn't want to hear any complain about each other.

                I called customer support again on 22 August an hour after visiting the store. Same thing again, told me to wait 3-5 days. "We have initiated your refund". I asked "if you initiated it now, why were you delaying it for 2 weeks?" No answer, he kept telling the same thing, "the refund will be credited in 3-5 days". I roasted him some and the person said, "Talk professionally." I told him, "you go to hell, may your company goes to hell too" and hung up. They're continuously lying about it and saying the same thing on phone and on mail like a broken record. And the manager keeps inventing new tactics to confront me every time I visit the store.

                  I am a regular user and customer of Hush Puppies men's formal shoes. I bought a pair of Hush Puppies Men's new steward black 7-UK from Hush Puppies Store during my visit to Varanasi. Though it has more than 1 year since purchase, I used the shoes about only 15-20 times as my office has been closed due to Pandemic. Last week, I noticed that one layer of right shoes sole (back side) started peeling off making the shoes unwearable.

                  This is a clear cut case of manufacturing defect. Hence, I request Bata India to look into the matter and provide a replacement.

                      By 11th August one delivery person from bata picked up the shoe which I have raised ticket for return. It's been 6 days but I didn't get any refund message or email. Daily I am calling customer care, some are telling it's received soon we will do refund, some are telling give some time . Is it the procedure to refund?
                      Within 2 days refund shall come but after picking up also they are not doing proper work. This is the last time by mistakenly we bought shoes from bata. Very disappointed.

                              Hello, I have visited your store at kothapet at 9.40pm today and the shutter was half closed. I entered the store thinking that I will be able to shop and atleast for customers who are loyal to bata for almost 32years ( or I can say third generation) and to my surprise your sales person alongwith store incharge spoke to me rudely as I have committed a crime. When I insisted that I have been referred by the other store located at Dilsukhnagar that the shop would remain open at kothapet and they had the stock of the item I required. Also further to add when they are saying that the shop is closed how can their be other customers in the store at 9.45pm.
                              This shows their attitude towards loyal customers.
                              Mind you RESPECT EARNED IS CUSTOMER EARNED AND CUSTOMER EARNED IS RESPECT EARNED.

                                I purchased pair of shoes from Hush puppies MGF Metropolitan on 5.8.21 evening at 30% discount with invoice no CM[protected]. On 7.8.21, I tried to wear but found front portion very tight and could not wear it so wore my old shoes while going out. On 8.8.21 morning, I called up at store to request for replacement and was told that as per their policy, discounted shoes are not even entitled for replacement even from the discounted stock, leave aside return, which is applicable for fresh stock only.
                                It was very surprising as the shopkeeper didn’t inform while purchasing. It also means that discounted stock is not the same as fresh stock and may not last for a good time. This is something which we used to hear but was not sure. This is very alarming especially for well known brands like Bata /Hush puppies.
                                I am a regular customer and didn’t expect this. It is therefore requested to resolve the issue at the earliest as the product is unused and I approached in 3 days after purchase so that relationship with brand is continued rather than reversed.

                                      Hi, I bought 3 pairs of footwear at Bata location at shopping center, Kota (opposite Ghodeala baba chowhraha). I gave Rs 3000 to the associate to complete the transaction. While the transaction was ongoing my wife changed her mind and decided to not buy 1 pair of footwear. When we expressed our desire to cancel the order of 1 pair the associate declined to honor our request and said that it cannot be done. It’s really poor customer service...

                                      I belong to Chandigarh and I had gone to Bhubaneswar for a wedding of my niece on 30th June 2021. During the time Orissa as a state was under Covid 19 lockdown protocol (all shops were closed except essential commodities – can be verified very easily in the government notifications) which was relaxed only on 1st of July 2021. Shops were open till 2 pm only.
                                      During the event on 30th June, my shoe broke and fortunately due to the easing of the lockdown next day I was able to go the market before 2 pm to be able to see some shoes.
                                      I found a few shops open on a road and went to Sheela shoes around 1 pm. They mostly had local brand shoes available with them. The shoes available of any reputation on the display rack was of the brand of “HUSH PUPPIES A BATA PRODUCT.”
                                      With the trust of a good brand I bought the shoes. The dealer gave a discount of 10% on MRP on his own account as this was the first day of his shop opening after the lockdown. The same discount is available on www.bata.in for the same shoe.
                                      I bought shoes back to the hotel and worn them for the evening function and lo and behold, they broke. Not even 10 hours after the purchase.
                                      I was very humiliated and harassed and it was my real sister’s daughter wedding and on the wedding night, I am without shoes. Somehow the night passed and next day i.e. the 2nd of July, I was back in the shop.
                                      They refused to return the shoes and it states on their invoice, “Goods once sold cannot be taken back or money is not refundable” They offered me the same type of shoe again and it then when I noticed that the shoes were actually manufactured in may 2019, they were already more than 2 years old. So I refused on the account that they may break again and I am not living in the city as a local. I have a flight back on the 3rd back to Chandigarh.
                                      They offered my local shoes but I bought a brand that I trusted in the first place as I did not want to buy local shoes.
                                      I spoke to the customer care and after days, weeks of my following up I have received this reply from Mr Traun Talwar, Customer Service Team, Bata India Ltd.

                                      “With reference to the concern raised by you, I would like to inform to you that the article purchased was under a special sale scheme and under “No Claim, No Warranty” policy.
                                      As per the service policy, articles purchased under Discount Sale are not considered for replacement.
                                      These terms and conditions are clearly stated in the cash memo to ensure transparency in the services provided to our customers.
                                      I regret to inform that I would not be able to consider the pair you are referring, for replacement.”

                                      Now after reading this I have a few questions
                                      1. The copy of the bill states very clearly “Goods once sold cannot be taken back or money is not refundable”. Is that not that the case when your product is in a workable condition and does not break in 10 hours of its purchase. Is that the model of quality that a brand like Hush puppies stands for?
                                      2. There is no mention of it being a sale item on the cash memo.

                                      IF BATA HAS ADOPTED THIS WORKING MODEL OF MAKING MONEY DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC, THEN SO BE IT.

                                      HENCE MY RECOMMENDATION. STOP BUYING BOGUS BRANDS WHO DO NOT STAND FOR QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS. BOYCOTT THEM
