21 Feb 2015:
I purchased a pair of shoes on 21st Feb 2015 from authorised Bata outlet, Dilshad Garden Metro Station at full price of Rs. 1799 [Cash Memo No. 21-02-15/[protected]] with expectation of shoe life 18-24 months in my mind as Bata is a brand name.
Last week of June 2015:
Observed minor cracks but ignored. I thought these cracks will not deteriorate further and I was hopeful if shoes further deteriorate a brand like Bata will resolve the issue amicably.
Mid of Sep 2015:
I visited Bata Store, Dilshad Garden as cracks deteriorated further. Bata Store manager advised me to contact customer care as 02 months period from purchase date had lapsed.
22 Sep 2015:
I Contacted Bata Customer Care on toll free no. as advised by Bata Store manager and Complaint registered vide ref. 481668.
26 Sep 2015:
Bata Customer Care sent regret via email to inform me that the product cannot be considered for a repair or replacement as 07 months had lapsed from the date of purchase.
28 Sep 2015:
I escalated the issue via email regarding life of product as it came with a surprise to me that the Bata Shoes priced at Rs. 1799 are made just to last 06-07 months?
They registered my complaint again vide reference no. 485946 and Bata agreed for 50% replacement.
01 Oct 2015:
I visited Bata Store Dilshad Garden to avail the replacement offer. However, they agreed to pay just half the price of original shoes i.e. Rs. 1799/2 = Rs 900 plus I had to return the shoes and that too after selection a product from inventory. I chose a Hushpuppies product with MRP 3499. Thereafter store manager asked to pay Rs. 2600 (FYI today on 16 Oct 2015 same model of hushpuppies was available on 50% off on amazon.in). This was quite shocking as this would imply that I lose 900 bucks just for seven months o[censored]se of shoes plus shoes also. I deeply regret of the fact that I bought shoes from Bata at regular price when discount of 50% easily flow in their obsolete inventory.
I left their offer of replacement and I contacted Bata Customer Care on toll free no. as suggested by Store Manager with expectation of Amicable Resolution. They registered complaint vide ref. 487709 with verbal confirmation of resolution within 03 days.

I contacted Bata Customer Care on toll free no. regarding complaint ref. 487709. They informed me that resolution is under process.
08 Oct 2015:
After lapse of almost 07 days (03 working days), I Sent an email to higher authorities for resolution as deemed fit at email ids SFD.[protected]@bata.com, share.[protected]@bata.co.in, [protected]@rdinfotech.in, rd.[protected]@vsnl.net, maloy.[protected]@bata.com, corporate.[protected]@bata.in .
Three email ids ([protected]@rdinfotech.in, rd.[protected]@vsnl.net, corporate.[protected]@bata.in) bounced back my email on 09 oct 2015.
On 12 Oct 2015:
I lodged my grievance on http://www.nationalconsumerhelpline.in/ vide docket no.[protected] with username ajay1983. But the status of complaint is still shown as open after lapse of 04 days.

Sir, I didn’t purchased Rs 1799/- shoes from Bata to look for shoes again 07 months down the lane. Additionally, I am feeling harassed the way things are uncovered day by day. I feel like I am wasting my precious time due to unethical business ways of Bata.
Now, I want Acceptance of faulty product by Bata Store and 100% replacement (if they think 50% replacement is 50% off on return of shoes to Bata).
Or
Acceptance from Bata that the product cost at 1799/- is designed for a life of only 07 months, so that I can warn my near and dear ones regarding the same.
Looking forward for appropriate redressal.
