I had Bought a Policy fron Birla Sunlife , on 12th of Nov. i recieved the policy dated 31st December 2010 on 5th of January, when i recieved the policy it was a clear case of Mis selling on following points
1. The sum insured was told to be Rs.24.00 Lakhs , which is 22.50 lakhs as per policy documents
2. Allocation charges committed were 1% for the first year , which have been deducted at the rate of 3%.
3. Date of payment is 12th November 2010 , with the receipt number 22901417 , whereas policy commencement date is 31st December 2010.
4. 5% discount on premium was offered for the first year and for 2nd year it was 10 % and for 3rd year it was 15% and for 4th & fifth year it was 20% , as committed.
I approached Dehardun Branch , on 20th January and requested for Freelook Cancellation , As per the instructions of MR, Mamraj , i wrote a application for cancellation , which was duly recieved by Mr. Mamraj with a Birlasunlife stamp , I recieved a communication from the company that the policy was recieved by them only on 3rd of februry , i lodged complaint number 0478/BSLIC/10-11/Comp against my Policy #[protected] with IRDA , The comapny has communicated in refernce to IRDA complaint , which was registered on 1st March 2011, that my free look cancellation request was not with in the specified time of 15 days, where as i have already submitted a reciept from their Dehardaun branch , which clearly shows that they have recieved the free look cancellation application on 20th January 2011 , where as the policy was recieved on 5th January , which is within 15 days of the time allowed for free look cancellation.
The company is behaving in highly irresponsible manner and ignoring the facts , it shows how a cheater can be part of such organisation in pursuit of meeting their targets.
I am enclosing herewith the scanned copy of reciept for your kind perusal. Please help me to get this policy cancelled.

You are not the only one facing this problem in Birla. Even the Marine Lines Branch Manager has the same disgussting attitude. He also uses a lot of foul languages. I think the Branch Managers in BSLI are trained to misuse their position. Moreover he has held my salary too. It does not even deserve one star.
