I had to invest for 2009-10 finantial year for tax saving purpose. I told my rsquirement and the type of product I need to Birla sun life insurance company agent Mr. Amar Bharadwaj.
My Requirements were-
(1) I Have to make one time investment of Rs. 42000/- (only for finantial year 2009-10) and do not want to continue further because it would not be possible for me.
(2) Locking period of the investment should be only 3 years as in other mutual fund ascemes.
(3) 100% of the amount should be invested in the scheme.

He told me that he understand my requirements fully and he will give me the appropriate investment option and took signed documents from me.

When I Received the documents, I got to know that he gives me a life insurance scheme that I have to continue minimum for 5 years else I have to pay penalty (up to 100% , if I could not pay for the 2nd year). Additionally a large chunk of my hard earned money Rs 17,254 has been deducted from my investment as administration charges and taxes.

I called the agent and told him the same. He picked my first 2-3 calls and after that he is not piching my calls.
I also complained to Birla sun life customer care by mail but every time I get a computer generated message. I have given at least 5 reminders for the same but getting no response from them.

This is the case of absolute fradulence and unfair means of business.Kindly help me out to get my money back and a penalty for the trauma I am suffering from.

    Hi,
    I bought a policy in dec. 2009 . the agent said that I have to pay 50,000 rupee of which 2500
    will be deducted and rest will be invested.
    he promised he will pay me back that amount .
    after i got the policy , i see that more than 7500 is being deducted .
    No written document was given to me about charges .

    I want to take matter to consumer forum . I am in Indore , MP .
    kindly someone advise me how to proceed .

        hi sir i was worked with birla sunlife insurance co ltd my joining date was 1-jun-2009 and my releaving date was 31-june-2010 i was worked thare for 1yr. its already got 8months from my resignation but still they are not give my pf amt i was called the hr by dec2010 they told me that u r in recovery case u must pay 821/-rs to the company then only we proceed ur pf pappers and i was cleared my recovery amt by jan 3 2011 but still they are not responding to me when ever i call they said it will be take 60 working days and given me the different different ticket numbers but still iam waiting pls kindly give me the solution for my pf amt

          My policy number of Birla sunlife highest NAV within 7 years is[protected]. My second premium was due on 10 February 2010 through ECS. The amount is supposed to be automatically deducted on due date from my account and I am supposed to receive an receipt. When I found that the company was not taking the premium amount from my account I called the customer care through my agent and customer care confirmed that their system is undergoing repairs and they are unable to process, your premium will be deducted within a few days. Contradictory on 10 March they send a lapsation notice. When I complained they send a reinstatement notice and asked me to pay double the premium amount which is totally illegal. I am waiting for clear 3 days for reply and preparing to file a petition at consumer court pune against Birla Sun life insurance who have proved a baseless and fraudulent insurance company. Your advisor Mrs Neeta V Deshpande will also be brought before the court for hearing.

            Dear sir,

            I have Surrendered my Birla Sunlife insurance policy numbered 984709 on 30th of march 2010.
            As per their commitment, it should be credited to my account in 10 working days. But it is not done till this date.

            When ever I make a call to customer care, they are saying that their year end batch is delayed and the money credit credit can not be done. they are not even giving a date for the actual credit also.
            I even had so many mail communications to the address "[protected]@birlasunlife.com" but there was no valid reply from their side.

            I have traveled to a new country and finding it tough to get my financial needs met.

            Could you please help me out to get this resolved..

              We have taken a policy in the year 2006 and our policy has been discotinued on Dec'2008. Before continutation of our policy , I had asked to company office at Jaipur and also Mumbai office whether I continue my policy my old unit has not changed and are same before discontinued of my policy. And any charged may not be deducted during discounted policy period. They have given replied and confirm that our old unit are same and any charged not diducted duirng discounted policy period and when we continued policy our unit give get current NAV. i.e. our old unit was 1900x current NAV. After confirmation from Bombay office we have deposit a cheque of Rs.37500/- on 30.3.2010. After that we have received a statement showing company had deducted Insurance charges and administration charges during discontinuerd period and my unit also has been reduced on the basis of current NAV. In this effect we have loss about Rs.16000/- by way of reduced unit and duducted chareges from ny old amount and current deposited amount.

              I let me know whtther company has deducted insuarnce charges and administration charges of discoutinued period and also my old fund/ unit less when we continued our policy. If this procedure is applied by the company it is wrong and company cheating to Investor by both side i.e. deducted charges of dicounted period and also less unit when investor continued policy.

              We hope you will see the matter and take immediate action with the company.

                I AM GIVING BELOW THE TRAIL OF MESSAGES. I GOT 4 TIMES THE STATEMENT OF PREMIUM PAID AS ZERO, WHEN I HAVE PAID MORE THAN 33000 RUPEES. NOBODY IS ASSURING ME THAT THE DATA IS CORRECTED IN THE SYSTEM.

                I am in receipt of your letter No.nil dated April 6, 2010 alongwith my premium paid certificate.
                You had confirmed that the statement was erroneously generated with zero premium amount.
                This is just to inform you and Mr.Ajit Bhor that today I again received a zero premium amount statement which is dated 5th April 2010.
                I wish to bring to you a gross error in your computer systems, which needs to be corrected immediately.
                Since the future of many policy holders including I, depends upon the computer data, it is o[censored]tmost important that your computer data management system should be errorfree.
                Would you please do the needful to correct it?
                Just to test whether you have done something to correct it, I may ask you the statement again after few months.

                THIRD TIME, I REPEAT, THIRD TIME, I REPEAT, THIRD TIME

                THIRD TIME, WITH ZERO PREMIUM AMOUNT PAID SHOWN ON THE CERTIFICATE.

                I HAVE PAID MORE THAN 36000 TILL TODAY, BUT THE CERTIFICATE SHOWS 0 AMOUNT.

                NOBODY BOTHERED TO REPLY TO ME AND CORRECT THE MISTAKE. I HAVE LOST ALL MY PATIENCE.
                CAN YOU REFUND MY FULL AMOUNT IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SERVICE THE POLICY.

                Birla Sunlife Insurance Co. Ltd — Frauds done with premium amount paid

                I have taken a policy (vide no.[protected] from Birla sunlife Co in Asansol, West Bengal on payment of Rs.2294/- as half yearly premium on 25.12.2006 vide cheque no.748614. After paying the first premium, I had again paid the same amount vide cheque but surprisingly without my consent instead of depositing it as 2nd premium of my policy ( No.[protected] a new policy is made vide policy No.[protected] which I just came to know. Moreover, I've paid Rs.2335/- on 18.12.2007, Rs.2335/- on 18.02.08, Rs.2316 on 18.10.2008 and Rs.2352/- on 18.04.2009 all premiums paid towards my second policy which was made without my consent and my first policy was now as conveyed by the company is lapsed. The agent of the company is showing the way to the company and the Salae manger of the companby is telling that the same is agent's misuse. I just want to know that if I've have not signed a new application form then how can a new policy be issued in my name, that too without my consent ? The office staffs are not saying anything encouraging. Please suggest. my contact no is [protected]

                  As all we know ULIP is flop in india and companies are faking fool to customers.
                  But all of you know biggest fraud ULIP product is provided by BIRLA sunlife and i am guarnting
                  that no company in india can beat BIRLA. BIRLA is king of of product of losses and making fool
                  of customers.

                  Policy details:
                  1st year 2nd year 3rd year onwards

                  Admin Charges 61% 7% 7%
                  Cost of insurance 14% 43% 14%


                  In above see admin charges is more than 60 % and in second year they increase cost of insurance to
                  43 % and they will continue to take more than 20 % throughout the policy.
                  No company is able to give more than 15 % profit to its customer and they are taking more than 20 %
                  from it's customer every year.
                  I have losed more than 1 lac and i have to withdraw from this and have to bear this loss othervise 20 % amount of my primium will be in loss.
                  Never take this ulip plan. BIRLA are pirates of market.

                  Totally agree. If you have a look at their AUM under this plan compared to their other ULIPs, we can see how they have conned gullible investors to the maximum as the this is the ULIP plan under which they have garnered maximum funds. Poor investors are sitting with huge losses, particularly those who started in 2006/07. I think the market has to double from current levels to get some return on this ULIP. Our main fault is that we got carried away by the agents' (read Citibank) sweet talk and did not read the small print. IRDA must do something to force BSLI to compensate the innocent investors. We can only lament now and learn our lessons for future. For those who have sunk money in this black hole - keep tracking the fund value and get out once it reaches your principal invested so that you can at least save that!
                  Also for those who haven't invested in ULIPs, stay away from such fraud schemes such as guaranteed NAV, Step-up ULIPs, etc. in general and BSLI in particular
                  I strongly suggest, PLEASE DON'T BUY ULIP from BIRLA or for that matter any Insurance from BIRLA SUN LIFE. They are Bogus, and want to mint money from the common man's hard earned money.
                  Coorect. Brila Sunlife is the biggest fraud in ULIP. I don't know why IRDA is not taking any action aginast them!
                  same here.. birla sun life is the fraud, and citibank the biggest fraud advisor
                  I invested in BIRLA SUN LIFE - FLEXI LIFE LINE in 2007 and have been paying monthly premium of 10, 000 per month
                  I request advise from fellow colleagues on what to do with this policy as I see it breaking even at the current market trend. I may not book any profit looks like but I want to cut my losses.

                  I got carried away by the Citibank agent in 2007 who assured me that this would help me build corpus fund.
                  Now I'm just waiting for the right time and advise to pull out of this policy.

                  Should I shop the premiums or let it continue till I decide to pull out from the policy. Default premium paying period is 15 years.
                  I have paid premium of 859997/- and my fund value is 8, 57, 431/-
                  I have seen it increase or come close to a break even in the last few months

                  Can someone please advise me.
                  I agree .. the fund never performed .. it is making a fool out of everyone. BSLI and Citibank are making money at customers expense

                    Birla Sun Life Insurance — not receive any document

                    I PURCHASE A BIRLA SUN LIFE SARAL JEEVAN POLICY THROUGH
                    RIGHYWAY CARE CONSUMER PVT LIMITED IN JULY 2008 BUT I DO NOT RECIEVE ANY RECEIPT OR BOND TILL NOW (14 NOV 2008).

                    Till the policy document not yet delivered to the addresee . kindly give me details about the parcel. When will it delivered?

                    i md shamim have taken a policy that is started from september 2009 but didn't get policy documents. i am struglling from last seven month to cancel my policy (policy no.[protected] in free look. I didnt get my policy ever the custumer care executive of your company always says that document has been delivered.after sending indemtry bond paper with 200 hundred stamp i have got duplicate documents on 16.03.2010 and put an application on 19.03.2010 for free look cancellation but yet didnt get any result. so please and please help me because i have alot of financial problem nowdays.

                    Birla Sun Life Insurance — No updates whatsoever

                    I have taken a policy in Birla sun life insurance and the policy number is :[protected]. They deduct the premium from Citibank on monthly basis. Besides this I haven't received any communication from Birla Sunlife. I sent mails to customer care too regarding this no response at all.

                      haven't applied for any new policy. This policy was without my knowledge.

                        I would like to share a real incident, what I had experienced with Birla Sun life.
                        I am holding policy number[protected] from last 9-10 years, so also holding flag of one of the oldest
                        Policy holder. Now let’s check out how your customer care behaves with an oldie. I had some urgent need of money, so as per process I filled the request to surrender the policy to encash money. I also did the same request to ICICI for their policy. After 7 days I got my money from ICICI but from your side got a rejection letter saying that my signature is not matching with the original signature that I had done on policy documents 10 years back. So I visited your branch and like a government department, when I asked an executive that why my fund value is not increasing as per committed terms, interestingly he advised me to buy new policy…I was also asked to buy 1 re revenue stamp from some 2-3 kilometers away from your office and this is not the end ……signature verification document from my bank. It seems like I am asking Birla to produce some loan for me. Now, I would like to have answers to my following queries –
                        1. Why my policy surrender value is still 1.5 Lac after paying 2 Lac in last 10 years?
                        2. Why I need to verify signature from my Bank, when I was physically available at your branch for verification?
                        3. Why I need to buy revenue stamp from my pocket and your office can’t keep a re stamp to help customers?
                        4. Your complete staff was not working in lunch time, a typical government office environment.
                        5. Your Front desk executive Urvashi Jain was primarily busy on phone with some relative and very rude with me
                        I now realize that I did a big mistake by buying Birla Policy and now also complaining to IRDA to look into the matter.

                        Yes i agree.. these all insurance companies are like these only. before purchasing the policy they will run around us and when we wan to surrence the policy

                          I HAVE A POLICY NO. 0432139 FROM BIRLA SUN LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY. I HAVE SURRENDER THIS POLICY ON DATE 25TH FEB 2010 AT JAIPUR OFFICE. THEY HAVE COMMITTED TO ME 10-12 WORKING DAYS FOR PROCESS. BUT AFTER 18 DAYS OF POLICY SURRENDER I HAVE FOUND THAT DURING THIS 18 DAYS TIME THE COMPANY HAS MISPLACED MY ORIGINAL POLICY DOCUMENTS
                          AFTER FEW TIME THEY HAVE TRACED MY POLICY AND COMMITTED TO ME FOR 3-4DAYS. WHEN I HAVE NOT GET MY AMOUNT AFTER COMMITTED TIME I CALL TO COMPANY TO KNOW THE RES ION FOR NON PAYMENT AND FOUNT THAT THIS TIME THEY PEOPLE HAVE LOST MY POLICY SURRENDER FORM.                             I applied a policy "Dream Plan" for Rs.10000 annual in my name MAHESH KUMAR. My Application No. 25051348 dated 03.06.2009

                            My Insurance Advisor is Pinki Devi AO4091 from Rohtak Branch.

                            I can not received my policy bond or cheque. When I & my Insurance Advisor from Birla Sunlife Insurance Office at Rohtak branch they told me this policy is cancel & your cheque is under process.

                            You can received after some days. But My cheque not received till date. Please help me for solve my problem.

                              my previous employer is birla sunlife distribution ltd,egmore ,chennai.i received the SBI cheque but my company A/c is closed so that i cant able to deposit the cheque to HDFC bank ,madipakkam,chennai.so i returned the cheque to kandivali office,Maharashtra.with current bank Details and proof through register post but i didnt get my claiming.ch.no.693047 & 472592 SBI bank.kindly take necessary step as soon as possible.

                              My name is virendrasingh and i am a employee of RELIGARE INDIA as abranch manager i have come to know that some mr allwyn perez from bharti axa and miss shweta sharma BSDL baroda are themself making some false mails and sms to mr rakesh sinha regional manager BSDL ahemdabad and claiming that these mails and sms are from me(virendrasingh)
                              They both are live in partners and have a habbit of doing this type of things to divert their bosses from business and they get lime light, and their bosses don't ask for business from them, shweta sharma with her earlier co ING AMC did similar thing for 6 months and i was held resposible for that and been sent to jail by her earlier employer, mr allwyn perez who is working with bharti axa mumbai is supporting her to get new sim cards and arrange for new email ids to send abusive mails to her seniors,
                              My request to you that please stop such kind of frauds in the corporate sector as this is propping up very fast in corporate world and some innocent people are being held resposible for such indecent acts.thanks and urgently look in to the matter

                                I Want to draw your attention as here under:-

                                1- That, I have been appiled to Birla Sun life Insurance Co. Ltd. to purchase 3 units value Rs. 300000 of thair Health Plan vide application # H 18313111 along with our cheque # 594531 for Rs.15664 dated 24.11.2008 payable at Canara Bank, Azamgarh.

                                2- That, My Application has been accepted by the said company and Contract Paper i.e. Policy #[protected] dated 28.01.09 has been issued in my favoure.

                                3-That,on sep.06 2009 I have feel seviour pain in my both hips joints, My friend Anand Mishra told me that his relative is a Ortho Doctor in Vivekanand Polyclinic, Lucknow. On Sep.07 I went to Lucknow and contact senior Ortho Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, he examined me and diagnose SECONDARY OSTEOARTHRITIS BOTH HIPS and advice surgery treatment of BILATERAL TOTAL HIP ARTHROPLASTY (T.H.R.)

                                4-That, I consult with my family members regarding operation and financial matter. After acceptance and consent of my family members I have been admited on Sep.11.2009 in Vivekanand Polyclinic, Lucknow.

                                5-That, my son RAHUL has been told me, that you have a Health Policy of Birla Sun life Insurance Co. Ltd. The Surgery you have undergon is covered under the policy so he had informed to TTK Healthcare TPA Pvt. Ltd. on 11.09.2009 regarding my hospitalisation by e-mail. On the same day TTK reply by e-mail and give us a ticket No TTK CRM # 170188 for further correspondence. But non has visit from TTK OR BSLI Co. Ltd. during my hospitalisation.

                                6-That, I have been operated on 13.09.09 and my both hip joints have been Implanted i.e THR and discharged from the hospital on 25.09.09

                                7-That, as per Annexure 1 serial # 27 printed on page # 9 shows that “Total Hip Replacement is covered under grade 2 covered surgeries and payable under Benefit Provisions 1(a)”

                                8-That, I have submitted claim form (form # 9) by speed post to TTK Health Care New Delhi office & Mumbai office along with all the enclosers.

                                9-That, I have received an undated letter regarding my claim on 15.11.09 from TTK Health Care TPA Pvt. Ltd. by which they have reject my claim by the reason given below.
                                “As total Hip Replacement is not payable within the first three years from the policy commencement date. Hence the claim is not payable as per policy term & conditions.”

                                After receiving the above said rejection letter I have gone through the policy benefit provisions which shows a waiting period as follows.

                                “ The Policy has a waiting period of 90 days,meaning that only claims due to accidental injuries will be admitted during the 90 days immediately following the policy effective date as shown in your policy detail. This waiting period will however be waived and not applied to any BSLI health plan purchased upon exercising the guaranteed insurability health benefit.” It means after 90 days other policy holder can file claim and avail it.

                                10-That, my policy has effected from 28.01.09 and expiry date is 28.01.2012 with a term of 3 years and I have been admitted on 11.09.09 (about after 225 days) from the date of Commencement of the said policy. So I can not understood how they rejected my claim. Again I send a letter on 25.11.09 by speed post and a copy of letter by e-mail on 24.11.09 to TTK Health Care TPA Pvt. Ltd. for review and reconsider my claim. But they have rejected again on 11.12.09 by thair letter .
                                11-That, the term of policy is only for 3 years then how it is possible to avail the claim after expiry of the policy as the reason shows in the rejection letter.

                                12-That, as per benefit provisions 1(a) the benefit amount per health insurance unit is Rs. 50000 per unit under grade 2 covered surgery.I have purchased 3 units i.e. Rs Three Lakhs & according the above provisions my claim must be payable Rs. 50000 X 3 units i.e. Rs 150000 (One lakh fifty thousands) .

                                13-That, Your Honour is requested by the perusal of the document attached here with and provision of the policy, please settle my claim and pass suitable order for justice, so justice be done.

                                birla sun life insurance/Health Plan — Not withdrawing the policy

                                Dear Sir/Madem
                                I am ankit singh i have taken a policy fron birla sun life in month of November 2008.in this policy i am facing mamy problems.i have complaint regarding this plan after every 4 day from the date of purchase.
                                My Problem is
                                1) I have taken policy in monthly mode and fill form for deducting 2 month((Rs.938) premium but he has debited from my credit card(Rs 7245) and after this he is debiting this premium from my HDFC account through ECS if i have amount in my account then amount is debited otherwise ECS bounce in this case i have to pay ECS bounce charge to HDFC Bank.
                                2)i have not recived my policy document yet.

                                so i want to withdraw my policy i refund my premium amount and which amount i have paid regarding the ECS bounce.

                                  I registered for ecs in my SIP investment for a mutual fund. I think that was the biggest mistake of my life. Every month Birla sun life sends a ecs request but they dont send the ecs mandate form that i gave them. So bank rejects the transfer and charges me 220 for that. Now i cant cancel the ecs as the bank has not recieved the mandate yet and Birla sun life keeps on sending the request. I called them many time and sent them the statement. However they keep on asking me to send them statement again and again. I sent them in docx (ms office 2007) format. And so they mailed back asking me to send again, I mean how difficult it is to open the file in MS office 2003 with the update. Till now i have been charged 1000 Rs with no investment in SIP. And when i ask them to cancel the SIP, they say it will take 30 days, so i need to face more ecs mandate not recieved charges. So much for extra convenience.

                                  This was my last investment with any birla company. This was the last time i gave power to any financial firm with ECS.

                                    I purchased saral jeevan plan but that time agent Sachin Phone no. [protected], Insurance advisor CX1045 Sangeeta, he said me that for this policy you have to pay 50,100 Rs now and after two years you have to pay 10.000 Rs only but after one year when i know that from customer care that i have to pay 50,100 for 3 years i called sachin but he never picked my phone i called customer care but they have no answer , i totaly paid 1,00200 to birla now my fund value is only 50.000 i have no option for surender this policy bcos surender charges are too heavy that means i have to continue this plan for min. three years , according to other birla sunlife agent this plan is closed by birla and birla offer 40% comision for their agent to sale out this policy and for this policy birla charged 33% Per year for Admin and other charges , i dont know why birla lounch saral jeevan to cheat people ? and when i talked with customer care then they saying if you want profit then you have to continue this policy for 20 years ,
                                    Birla have no power to take action against the agent bcos ? their salogan saral jeeven means saral to cheat people is fail

                                      I am RAJ KUMAR, i have cancelled my policy no[protected] before two month.But my refund cheque has been misplaced by JASOLA BRANCH(Delhi) of BIRLA SUN LIFE INSURANCE. I have given request for reissue my refund amount cheque. But now they were telling me that my cheque has been cashed ,but still i did not get cheque . How can this possible. Jasola branch is not giving any response. Sir please help me , i need money very much. Please do needful as soon as possible.
                                      they are cheating me. please sir refund my amount asap.
