This is in regards to a TERRIBLE experience I had at a Cafe Coffee Day outlet in B-Block, Connaught Place, New Delhi. I went there with three of my friends whom I was meeting after a very long and thought we'll have a nice time.
We decided we'll order 2 Lemonades, 1 Cucumber Lemon drink, 1 Cold Coffee and 1 Tex-Mex Veg Cheese.
I went to the counter and the guy asked my order..
# Okay Sir, 2 Lemonades and 1 Cucumber Lemon.. Mint sir?
- Sure. Yes.
# and.. 1 Tex-Mex Veg Cheese. Masala or Chips?
- (I didn't need chips). So, yea masala.
Now I asked him to suggest me a good cold coffee because I don't visit CCD that often. He said, Devil's Own; to which I agreed.
Now the bill was for Rs 916/- to which I was baffled. How can it be 916? I checked the bill and I saw two more items - "Banana Bites" and "Rush Pom Cherry". I asked him what is "Rush Pom Cherry" (which was priced 214.29/-)? To which he said it's mint. I said I can see the mint leaves. For that you charge Rs 214? He said, yes.
After that they brought "Banana Chips".
The counter guy knew that I'm new, however my friend who frequently visits CCD realised there's something fishy. In every coffee shop they ask if we want mint or not.. YES, MINT LEAVES! not mint tablets which are for Rs 214! And if you ask a customer if he wants a Tex-Mex masala or not.. (please use your head) tell me what do you think, you'll say?
When I asked him to call the manager, he spoke to some guy and never returned and kept on apologising and refused to take the "mis-sold" items even though we didnt even eat them. I'm absolutely dissatisfied and I'll make sure people know what terrible customer service approach CCD follows!
I have the original bill which you might want to see. And please, teach your employees to service the customers. Not mis-service. Also please ask them not to stand over the head of their customers when they're eating; who by the way have been inside the outlet not more than 30 mins. If you charge so much, atleast have the courtsey to wait!

I am a frequent visitor of ccd not because i am in love with their coffee but just because it is a cafe where you can get things done in a cafe environment with light music and sip a coffee (my order at ccd is no more than a black coffee).
There are times when i end up spending my entire day there reading my books.
There was one day i considered at table under the open sky, though i dont mean that literally (outside seating).
Anyways, i put my phone on charge keeping in miind that it cant be away from my peripheral vision. So i connect the charger to one of the electric outlet and only to find after few mins that my phone has disappeared from there. When i asked the staff they said we wont be able to do anything about it and on asking they also informed me that they dont have a cctv camera for the outside dinning.
My question is what if somebody walks in with a bag of explosives and leaves it behind. Who will take the blame for it?
When i confronted the area manager with this question, his reply to my surprise was it is companies call and i cant do anything about the cameras.
When asked for the footage of cabin to list the ppl visited the cafe as it is self service and you have to pay at the counter.
He then informed me that the camera is only for the internal purpose and it only focus at the station from where our staff picks up the tray to serve.
Which invariably means they only worries about someone stealing their products or servings whatever and not about the safety of the customers.
When will they realize that they exist because of the customers. Their existence would baffle if we abscond.
This ccd also had cleanliness issues. facility not available (often).
No pest control, never take responsibility for anything that happens. Area manager was once not reachable when tried by 5 different customers. Even after leaving a phone number with the staff, nobody bothered to call.
