I'm a Chevrolet Beat Diesel owner (KL-39-D-474) and totally disappointed with this product.
I bought this from "Geeyem motors, Cochin, Kerala" 3 years back and from day one, it was showing different electrical & mechanical issues. Notified this to the service centre in each visit, but they were not all serious about it and doing temporary fixes.
Eventough the service & customercare from dealership was totally worse, because of warranty regulations, all the scheduled services were done there only.
The last service was done at same place on May 2014. After that I have used it for 2600 Km only and then engine seized. It happened just 5 days after the 3 year warranty period end date and the total KM covered by the car is only 16800.
Car is currently at a Chevrolet service centre in Salem and they found leakage in coolant pipe, which resulted in engine overheating and seizure. They said major part replacement required in engine which costs approximately 2 Lakhs!
I asked for Chevrolet assistance in this matter and they told me to contact 'Area sales manager'. I've shared all the previous issues with in last 3 years and service details. In the 1 week long back and forth mail communication with him, he was always trying to put the blame on me pointing out silly things.
Finally last day, got mail from him saying that "the overheating is caused due to the leak from the coolant pipe which is occurred due to the rusting of the pipe which will never occur unless there is water contact".
Also he rejected the request stating "the repair work cannot be cover under warranty cost since your vehicle’s warranty have expired on 29 Aug 2014".
I really don't understand how they can simply get away from taking responsibility of engine problem, that happened in a short duration... All the services were done through authorised dealer, how will I know if they have used proper coolant or mixed pipe water? Also they are supposed to do proper inspection of parts and relevant replacements in service visit.
I've again spoken with Chevrolet customercare over phone and all they are saying is to write to their mail id (gmi.[protected]@gm.com), Which I've already done several times.
Now the burden of paying this huge repair cost is totally on me. I don't know what to do!!!
Chevrolet in their advertisements, offers 3 Yrs/100000 KM warranty, 3 year 24x7 Roadside Assistance and 3 year Chevrolet Promise.
I think this is just to attract the customer and put them in a trap.
My car has covered only 16800 KMs in its 3 year life. With the issues faced so far, I really suspect the quality of manufacturing and service/Promises offered.
Before buying Beat, I was using Maruti 800 for 10 Years, which never gave any serious trouble. Also their customercare was 100 times better than Chevrolet.
I now regret on buying a car from Chevrolet, which not only created huge financial loss, but also spoiled my precious time and gave lot of tensions.

Updated by prajeeshvg As expected, Chevrolet Customercare guys didn't respond to this complaint also...
In the mean time, the dealer has sent an estimate for the repair, which is 152000/- and want me to approve it to start the repair work!
Looking at the other complaints posted in this portal, related to Chevrolet vehicles (in particular Beat diesel), I can see that many of the customers have reported similar issues that I also faced - turbocharger problem, engine seize, electrical malfunctions etc. So it is quite clear that, there are serious manufacturing defects in their product range. Customers are loosing their hard earned money !!!
Chevrolet should perform adequate quality checks before releasing the product from factory and also ensure better after-sales service with service centres equipped with technical staff.
I am Bijender Singh the owner of Beat HR14 J 3889 (Black) bought on 13 September 2012 from Faridabad Haryana. All services till now (74000km) done by authorized service station of Chevrolet. it has been noticed by me that after last service 67500km there is some problem in engine oil its less than the limit and I had complaint to Bhanu Motors Service center Gurgaon Sec.37 and I had sent my car on 25th Feb 2015 till today morning there is no any update or feedback from their side only myself calling them again and again for update before two days back they told me that they have check the compressor of engine and its more than specification and yesterday they told me that they checked two time and there is no any problem in car engine and compressor is found OK. today morning when I asked for delivery of my car then they replied that there is some problem in engine and you have to pay for it, we cannot do under warranty and they give me reason that at about 45000km Aravali service center sec.14 Gurgaon had done some work one year back and said that you have to talk with the Aravali service center Gurgaon Sec.14 and I spoke to them also but could not get any positive response and that time also the compressor problem was there and they had mention at bill and they said
that you have to talk with the Aravali service center Gurgaon and I spoke to them also but could not get any positive response but I have remember that they only suggested to change one part under body or a safety plate I have always follow the instructions given by service station/adviser and never refused any recommendation work by them.also I remeber that after 45000km service after a week some problem related to Engine accure and I again taken my car to the Aravali for engine problem that time also they done some work in engine with (0 billing). and the light in meter for engine problem was blinking when I was receiving my car when I asked for light they replied that its not a problem we dont have computer/laptop to reset it on your next visit we will solve it.
that time was not happy with the work or services done by Aravali thats why I have changed the service center.
Now I am happy that Chevrolet authorized service center reached till my car engine problem after more than a week and without updating the costumer only customer taking initiative/worried about the problem no body suggested since last one year from 45000km service that there is some problem when all services/work of my car have been done only at authorized service centers I am writing this after lot of harassing by Bhanu and Aravali Motors Service center.
Dear Concern pls. understands my situation and checks all my car track records. I just want to request Chevrolet that if there is any work required it should be comes under warranty.
I faith on Chevrolet waiting for positive response.
