Hi,
I received a call today from Citibank Credit card sales girl for a lifetime free titanium credit card. Initially, I was interested in the credit card but I had to rush in for an important meeting and told the girl Bhuvana that I will call her and let her know.

Since that very minute, I have been receiving continuous call from her and her Team Lead for an appointment. I was forced to pick up the phone twice to let them know that I am not interested anymore. The girl is now calling me up and abusing me with filthy words and asking me to take the card. But my phone is still ringing as we talk.

I am planning to report this to the police. She is calling me from the number[protected]. Please let me know who or how I should report this to citibank? I don't think even if I do, they will take any action. Citibank has lived upto to name, that they hire DONS to do the work for them. This is one just best EXAMPLE.

Hi,

I bring to your kind attention that I have taken a loan-on-phone from Citi Bank 2 yrs before and I have been paying the loan everymonth without any default. One thing which really cannot understand is that the due date of the loan is on 19th of the month..but I get calls right from 2nd of the month till the payment is made. This is riduculous they do not even spare me on a Sunday even on that day I receive the calls. Different people call from plenty of different number which is listed below. when I inform them that the due date is on 19th..they say that it is a reminder call. I am really fed up with these people. Atleast I get 10-15 calls a day and I had to repeat the same dialogue to each of them who call me. Their Motto say the " Citi Never sleeps" looks like City sleeps but citi bank do not sleep.

Citibank Credit Card — Unsolicited Calls for Credit Card Sales

Hello,

I am getting calls from number : [protected] for Credit Card offers from Citibank eventhough I have registered for DND.

Please look into the complain and let me know what should I do to stop such calls.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I am getting at least minimum 5 to 10 calls per week from CITI financial chennai (T.Nagar branch office).
    Asking me to repay the loan amount.But the thing is I never availed any loan or having account in CITI bank.Daily they used to call me and ask for Mr.Palaniappan. I dont know about this (Mr.Palaniappan) person at all.

    I even politely replied the above things to customer care executives but they didnt mind at all. Still this second I am getting this unsolicited phone calls. This history continues for past one year.

    Following are the phone numbers (5 nos.) I used to receive from these CITI financials.

    My patience are almost gone and my next step is to register FIR against this organization.

    on 4th february i applied for a loan of £1000 which was accepted on 5th feb I paid an administratio fee of £55 I was then told that the money would be in my account in five working day's I have recieved no money from them and they will not answer my phone calls even though the answering machine say's they WILL call back this has become very frustrating in the way they have treated me. I eventually got through to someone called lynn who said that they were waiting on me to send the terms and conditions they never arrived to me she then sent them through e-mail on the 15th of feb which i then printed and signed and sent back to them again I have heard nothing and they still refuse to take my phone calls or return them I am at present Putting in complaints to dept of trade and industry the ombudsman and I have spoken to my lawyer who said I have to report them to the POLICE for theft and intent to defraud a member of the public this I will do if they do not return my calls that I have already made I hope all other members of the public who have been conned by this so called financial company and follow suit by complaining to the authorities and the gov bodies that deal with this kind of misrepresentation.

      SUB : Loan Recovery Harrassement on Wrong Telephone number[protected]

      I have neither taken any loan nor do I use any Credit cards, still I get Harrassment calls on my Telephone number[protected] daily morning, at about 8.00 a.m. I am fed of these calls.

      The irritating calls are about some body named Mr. Satish Jadhav, who is a defaulter, and must have given my telephone number or may be by error, my telephone number has been entered as Satish Jadhav.

      I have given a simillar complaint to Consumer Complaint board, and if these calls are ceased immediately I will surely give complaint in writing to Police Department as well as to RBI , because without taking any loans or credit cards, I am getting harrassed by Citi financial Call Centres. So please update your data immediately.

I don't know who is this Satish Jadhav and who has given my Telephone number as his contact number.

      Please do the needfull and stop this un-necessary telephonic harrassment immediately. for any other enquiry please feel free to call me on my contact numbers mentioned above.

      I took loan from your concern, 18 cheques properly passed, lot of times i went to your pollachi branch office regarding for my loan closer, but i didnt get any response from your staffs, 4 months latter only they came to my office, i asked 15 days time to close the loan but the name veerakumar[protected] from S R Associates salem based branch he came and shouted lot in my office, Request you to take action certain person and give me time.

        I had a Salary Account with Citibank opened in 2007. They offered me a VISA CREDIT CARD. They closed my salary account in 2008 without informing me. I always used to access my account online on their website. When I tried to access my account in Nov 2008, I wasn’t able to do it. My credit card account was also linked to my savings bank account. I was not able to access both the accounts and when I tried to inquire they said my account is closed. I thought that both my debit and credit card with Citibank are dead cards and I don’t have to worry about them. I just forgot about the Citibank credit card after that.


        I lost my wallet on Sept 8th 09 at 3 pm along with my Citibank credit card and some hot cash etc. The person who got it made fraudulent charges on it amounting to INR 48,850.00 at four different merchants mainly in old city. I received a statement on Sept 29th 09 dated Sept 21st 09 bearing four transactions. All these purchases were not made by me as my card was lost on 08-09-09.

        Credit card was issued to me on the basis of salary account. When they closed my Salary Account Why was the credit card account not closed. As soon as I received the statement showing these transactions, I have approached one of the merchant "SHYAMS FASHION FABRICS" and I requested them to show me the transaction slip on which the purchaser signed which to my surprise was entirely different. There were just 2 lines in the place of signature.

        I asked few questions to them for which they don’t have any answers.

        1. 1. Why did the merchants not ask the purchaser to produce the identity card etc? When there’s a RBI rule for every Merchant to verify the ID of the card holder.

        2. 2. Why can’t the Merchant verify the signature on the back of the card and on the charge slip?

        3. 3. Why didn't the BANK tally my signature on the receipt before transferring the funds to the Merchant? When I asked these questions to their Fraud officer who came to meet me he says, the merchants are illiterate and do not know how credit cards work, hence I take all the blame. I told him that it’s Bank’s duty to educate the Merchants. Will the Merchant accept any fake currency notes? There is absolutely no security whatsoever for Customers. No security pin, no signature verified and no ID verification. Anything can happen with anyone’s Credit Card if this is how the Bank works.


        After this incident, I was seeking help from their customer care executive Mr. Ram who was very disappointing, there was no care for customer. He was not at all listening to me. It takes ages to first get through to someone and then their Representative raises hands saying we cannot do anything. When I am saying that these are not my purchases as a Bank, they should at least believe me and try to help me in finding out how this happened. I was given the same answer again and again, “WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING”. They just don’t care for their customers. Every other Bank in this case would raise a dispute and do not put other charges on it unless the issue is resolved. But Citibank is adding interest charges to it and started harassing me. I did go to Police Station who issued me a certificate and I requested them to investigate the said fraudulent transactions and bring the culprit to justice. But I cannot make the payment for the Bank’s and Merchants fault. Now, Citibank is asking me to make the payment. I cannot make any payment towards these transactions and would like to close my credit card account. Therefore, I request someone from Citibank’s top management to help me in this regard and close my account completely with zero balance.

          I have been using CITIBANK Credit card since last ten years without any problem. Since October, 2009, I have been facing serious problem with Citibank Credit Card. The problem is after providing all datas for rail / air tickets through online, error occurs while processing the credit card through the VERIFIED BY VISA programme. For example from 5-1-2010 to 7-1-2010, I tried to book 5 air tickets through Spicejet & Makemytrip for MORE THAN 10 TIMES, but always the same answer appeared on the screen., which is attached herewith.
          Kindly help me to overcome this problem OR help me to cancel my card immediately as while contacting citibank on phone they are not responding, only recorded messages are flashed.

          Kindly treat this as very urgent.

            Nuisance wrong calls from CITI BANK
            Sir/Madam

            I am not having any loan account with CITI Bank. Someone has given my mobile number for his account opening. That person had defaulted for his outstanding. Hence, I am getting calls from the bank on frequent basis for the past two years asking for 'Mr. RAMESH KUMAR'. I have told several times to the bank to verify the concerned person account details but no steps were taken from their end.
            I am receiving calls from number [protected]. Caller asks for 'Mr. RAMESH KUMARA'. I told them that it was wrong call; usually I am receiving calls at office working hours; which is very much disturbing.

            This frequent nuisance calls from the Bank creates great agony to me and wasting my time also.
            Please take appropriate action against the bank

            Citibank — wrong calls

            Hi, my self Chander pal working as a engineer in company my company provide me a mobile facility for proper cumunication. I have been around 3 year recived a fake calls & SMS from citi bank regarding credit card payment. even i don`t have any bank A/C in this bank.after complaining in their coustomer centre ,their call being stop for 1month but right now its start again.

              I have been charged for the amount i never used. This is ridiculous, i didn't received a card, even i don't know the card number and they are messaging me mini statements for card "************9003" with total amount due of 15504.02. After speaking many times to customer service, i was assured for an investigation which never happened.

                  this is with regard to my ready credit amount which i have taken from citibank of 30000 and also payed them the complete amount but due to some reason now i am missing that letter from the bank ...and after keeping quite all of a sudden they are asking me to pay them a sum of 50,000 as full and final settlement , i said that i have already paid the amount then how did that increased also they have sent a notice to my hometown and everydy they are calling me and giving me mental harrashment to repay the amount or else they will book a complain against me ...giving up everything i told them that not to harras my parents regarding the same or me ...and i told them that see i dont want to argue with you guys and the only way i would pay is through emi and i do not have other alternative ...but the bank dont listen to me and keep threatning me all the time...please advise

                    hell will get my salary account changed as soon as possible.. good my company has option for a diff back as well.. citi bank really sucks.

                      I Nilesh M Sukhadiya from Surat, Gujarat State, taken lone form Citibank of Rs 139, 000 Rs, at 13 July 2007, with a tenor of 48 installment, when i taken loan at that time bank suggest for ECS payment system not by cheque, and i take the permission with bank chop and sign from my bank named Sarvoday Sahakari cooperative bank, at initially every mth citi bank credited the emi of Rs 4, 083 Rs from the bank name Sarvoday Sahkari Bank Surat, after 8 month suddenly the cheque bounced even i have a balance in my a/c, when i get the news of bounced i went to my Sarvoday Sahakari co-operative bank for this matter, my bank inform that the since form the starting when they send EMI through ECS then send the wrong data in ESC, in that they are not mention the current A/c and due to that we inform 3 time personally through letter from my bank and also personally through telephone, but then also the didn't reply at that time we have to adopted such step, and when i here even i went personally 2 time 3 time my accountant and my manager too and we meet MR Chatur Moradiya his mobile number is[protected], at Ghod dord road branch, and he suggested to re-ride the loan and what ever that happen we are sorry for that and we made a new agreement with the new EMI, but at that time i already get the heavy charger of bounced and return chargesfrom both the bank
                      After new agreement, my new loan amt is 129, 000/ Rs with a EMI of Rs 3, 223/, but that is also the same mistake form the starting of first EMI, after 3 ECS bounced i pay 1 installment through cash and the receipt number is 10312 on 20 /10 /2008, and the guy who collect payment from me is Mr Pratik and his mobile number is +[protected] and the collection agencies name is JND Communication, , 3 floor Neel Ggan apt, opp Vanita Vishram School, Athwagate, Surat, with an assurance that they will start regularly your ECS from next month, but again the EMI bounced, when the collection guy come again i just say first clear your problem of ECS and then come to collect,
                      But in Jan 2009 they used my security cheque ( cheque no 809132)and deposited into my A/c of 9, 669/ Rs, without my permission, but as i always kept balance that cheque is clear, and after that i make the stop payment of my other cheque, and after the company head office called come before diwali on 30/09/2009 for settle this A/c in 60, 000/ in one short and with an assurance that they will provide NOC with in one monthof the payment and i have that telephonic record, at that time i was conviced by 3 people i named that along with contact number is as below

                      @Miss Sweta +[protected], she talk with me 8-10 times in 4 days

                      This are the person who talk with me and giving assurances that our bank is not like other
                      bank, and you plz trust on us and today is your last day to submit, but we can provide clouser letter, but after 1 mth we will provide NOC and that is confirm, and on that i went to his collection office at ADI CREDIT & COLLECTION, H-405 Manthan Apt, Muktanand Nagar, Near Adajan Circle, Surat, when i gave the payment they also say that you can check you NOC process through your Ref Number,
                      And after 1 month when i call in customer care for my NOC, they strickly say that no we can't provide NOC as you have settle the A/c, and when i say that i get assurance from your head office for NOC after 1 mth, then he reply YOU BETTER TO TALK THERE, and when i m calling there, all the 3 person, have no time to talk and when i shout then they reply just gave me 1 day, but still there is no response and at the last i just mail my problem over here, if any one who can help me then plz gave me justice against this WHITE COLOR THIEF,

                        Hello Sir/Madam,

                        Personal loan was approved from Citi Financial and during the discussions over phone , person name is Prawalika from himyatnagar branch has told that percentage would be flat 10 - 13%, I had accepted for that offer and it was transfered to very nearest place of my residence i.e Kukatpally branch, there also it was told that will be offering 13% flat but on the paper it was 16% flat which was huge compare to other banks or financial institutions. I have no option to take that loan as it was signed and cheque was on table, so please request to take proper actions against them to misleed other customers.

                            I am a doctor by profession working at AIIMS, Hospital New Delhi for the past few years. I have been a Citibank credit card holder for the past 7-8 years. Since past few years I have been using a Gold card and have always maintained a good credit history.

                            On 19th of December, I noticed a message on my phone regarding some transaction of Rs.5187/- made in the favour of TELEBRANDS. I immediately called the customer care number to speak to a citiphone officer to inform that this is a fraud transaction as I had not made any such transaction.

                            The Citiphone officer by the name of Mr. John, informed me that a transaction had been made in the name of TELEBRANDS- BILLDESK and another attempt had been made on the same day to do a transaction of Rs. 12,000, which thankfully had been blocked by the bank ( I don’t know the reason for the same). I informed him that I have not made any such transaction and this transaction should be stopped immediately and got my card blocked. I was asked to mail a Card Declaration form (CDF) at the earliest so that the investigation can be initiated, which I mailed in an hour’s time. I requested to please get the investigation initiated at the earliest so that if the transaction is Delivery Based the delivery may be stopped at the earliest and the address given by the fraud can be located and perpetrators can be caught red-handed.

                            I got a call from citphone officer today on December 23rd/12/09 ( after 5 days) informing me that surprisingly the investigation has still not been initiated by the bank as they have not received the CDF till date, giving a window of opportunity for the fraudsters who used my card details to go scot free. I had sent the form on the same night after talking to the concerned officer, and I have the BCC copy of the same , I am also in possession of a mail from the bank confirming me of the same . When I told the same to the officer and explained that the delay in investigation may have only helped the fraud transaction go through, he disconnected the phone. I’m sure he realized his mistake soon, as to add to the confusion I received a mail immediately from Citi customer care officer named S.Prasad that he had already received the CDF form on 20th December itself .

                            I would like to ask why wasn’t the investigation initiated at the earliest to catch the fraud and suspend the transaction by getting it cancelled at the earliest. This slow and casual response on behalf of the bank reflects a lack of willingness to catch the frauds behind this transaction and safeguard the interest of a troubled customer.

                            Credit Card — Very Casual response to my Complaint by Bank

                            Dear Sir,
                            This is reference to my SBI Credit Card No. [protected], which was lost at Chandni Chowk, New Delhi on[protected] afternoon. I came to know about this loss on[protected] and got the card blocked immediately and lodged FIR at Chandni Chowk police station. By that time, someone made a purchase worth Rs. 35, 000/- at different places from this card. I raised dispute form for these fraud transactions with the bank, for which response from bank was very casual and non-responsive. My concerns in the instant case with the bank are as follows:
                            1) The representatives were following a normal practice of communication with me before approving the amount. However in the instant case where transaction was more than Rs.35, 000/-, no such communication was made with me and the amount was approved without my knowledge and consent.
                            2) It was also requested and pursued with the representative for disclosure of place of transaction, an information which would have been of crucial significance and help in tracing the offender. However, SBI representative remained totally unresponsive to my repeated earnest pleas (refer various emails from December’08 to March’09)
                            3) I had also been repeatedly pursuing for the vendor copy of proof of purchase, which was not provided. Subsequently as late as six months, I was provided with vendor’s proof for only one purchase out of 5 purchases and proof of the other purchases is still at large.
                            4) I have been a committed and regular customer of SBI Credit card and my track record is impeccable as is evident from SBI statement (enclosed herewith).
                            Further, as a closing note, it is necessary to bring it to your kind attention that the page no. 2 of SBI monthly statement indicates “FOR BETTER MANAGEMENT OF CREDIT, WE WILL MAINTAIN STRINGENT CONTROLS / NOT APPROVE HIGH RISK TRANSACTIONS”. However in the instant case, it was exceedingly disappointing to note that the said value is not being adhered to, thereby leaving me distressed knocking from door to door for relief and to add further agony. SBI’s billing department / recovery people have been persistently following with me for this payment of about Rs. 35, 000/-, for which I have not made any purchase. Now, my humble request to you therefore would be to lock into the matter on utmost priority and do the needful.

                                Due to unavoidable circumstances i have settled my citibank card dues in the year 2002, but still the cibil reprot says i am defaulter and my credit card loan has been written off. I have got the citibank card settlement letter with me. spoke to citibank customer care to update this, NO RESPONSE from them. How to clear this ?? I am unable to get any loans in any banks, Suggest me to clear this .

                                sears/ citi — handling of credit card

                                I am writing to ask for some help with a current debt account number[protected]had for years i missed a payment and my intesert rate rocketed and then payments where maded but i guess not in the way they had want so they went up again. I noticed that no matter what i would do my debt was going no where. Sears was then taken over by your company. I have been using care one a credit consoladation company which i thought would help. I started making 50 dollar payments and even asked for a settlement and no one was able to make that arrangement. I have been paying 80 dollars a month and my debt has gone from 1500 or 1600 to 2100 even making a big effort to take care of this my payment is suppost to be 56 a month.I have tryed really hard and i except responsebilty for my debts but are going no where fast this has hurt my credit tremendusly and am just asking that you look over the account and do whatever you can i would greatly appreciate it and would just be thankful to you for any help with this i have made will over 700 or 800 dollars on this account and nothing is even showing. I would not be asking for any help if i thought that this would resolve it self soon or even start looking better but its not. thanks again.

                                SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR NOTHING (Plus Interest)

                                My ordeal started last fall when my wife and I decided to purchase a very special gift for our handicapped grandson. I began the search for a child size ATV on the internet. I found exactly what I was looking for at a company called ATV Fun. There add was great, the pricing fit my budget and I was thinking how great it was going to be seeing the look on my grandsons face when I took him for his first ride. I was looking forward to teaching him as I had taught his father.

                                Then the problems began. The company did not accept credit cards and said they could only ship upon receipt of a certified check or money order. That bothered me a little but it didn’t turn the “Light” on. My wife and I discussed it and then decided this was not the way we wanted to make a $700 dollar purchase. I informed the company that wasn’t going to be possible and I started my search over. A short time later I received an e-mail from the company indicating they had an arrangement with Google, who did accept credit cards, to handle the purchase. The Google deal is similar to “Paypal”. Well I signed up with Google, gave them my credit card information and the fun began. First I was charged more than I was quoted. I contacted Google and got that corrected ($750 charge was reduced to $700 as quoted). Next delivery times got longer. At that point I contacted Both Google and Mastercard and canceled the purchase. I have the original e-mails from Google acknowledging this with there promise to work with the credit card company to “take care of things”. Finally the charge disappeared from my credit card statement.

                                The charge reappeared a month later so I contacted Mastercard. The charge then disappeared again. It came back in January and February and I again contacted Mastercard. My most recent conversation with Mastercard ended with their statement that I owe the money and must pay despite the fact the merchandise was never received. I explained I wasn’t going to pay for something I never got and believed had been successfully resolved.

                                I am now at the point I will probably need to secure legal assistance and prepare to start damage control to maintain my credit.

                                This would be like going to Sears, charging $700 on my credit card and leaving with no merchandise. I use Sears as an example because I used a “Sears” Mastercard to start this nightmare. $700 is not beyond my ability to pay. It would hurt at this time but I could sacrifice other things if I had to. The issue is I’m being told to pay for something that was canceled, never delivered and acknowledged by all parties involved.

                                Yesterday, Mastercard told me they sent me a letter in November and again in March (12th), neither of which have I received, that they couldn’t help me and the charge would stand. They must have sent those letters to the same place the ATV was sent.

                                What options, short of spending a fortune on legal help exist to help and or protect the average “Joe the Plumber”, from the strong armed take it or leave attitude of the institutions my tax dollars just bailed out?

                                  I withdraw money of Rs. 30,000/ from cash counter of citibank,Kumar Builders,Pune branch as on 10th Dec 2009, and then on next day for purchasing of Bond papers for property deal I deposited Rs. 29,000/- that money in State Bank of India, Treasury Branch, Solapur. In amount of Rs. 29,000/- they found one Rs. 500/- note as a fake note numbered: 8CS 513700, they told me as per their policy they tear up the note as an when it found. Immediately I call citiBank customer care and explained the entire scenario, and they told me to bring the some of pieces of Rs.500/- note to citibank barnch pune so that they can give the credit to my account. I went to bank on 14 Dec 2009 with four pieces of Rs. 500/- now they are refusing to accept this fact.
                                  I am posting this because this was happened with me it should not happen with any one in future.

                                  One Shocking fact of Citi bank- I was expecting PF money from one of my old co. and they deposited the two cheque in my account - but both cheque bounced (Govt. PF Cheque). instead of deducting money from the account who supposed to transfer money to my account, - the great Citi bank deducted money from my account for bounce charge. when I called the customer service they say that you have to pay coz this is getting transferd to your account. Does anyone know the logic behind this? Can anyone provide financial classes for Citi Bank!!! when I told them to file a police complaint they said will revert . waiting...
                                  I am posting this because this is something I came to know first time, citi bank policy and government PF office "hopeless" cheque bounce.

                                    Hello,

                                    I had taken 4lac loan with 1yr term based on my card from Citi bank. I paid 5EMI and since i was getting married i asked the Bank to rebook the loan. Since i delayed to respond to them initially due to personal work, one EMI got generated while sending then confirmation. By the time they rebooked the loan another EMI also got generated causing 75k outstanding on my card. They rebooked the loan for balance amount. Now they say that they cannot rebook the outstanding amount into loan.

                                    One of their executive connected me to thier head office in chennai and they asked me whats the problem. I explained them what all happened. They told me that they will get back to me in 3 days of time and they never did and my outstanding getting increases day by day due to interest.

                                    Finally they gave me an EMI option and asked me to confirm it, which i did on the same day i got mail. They again sent me mail that i will recieve hard copy of structured payment and i need to send duly signed copy to the address provided. I am waiting since november and the hard copy never reached me inturn till now.

                                    I have faced a comepletely horrible harrassment from the bank since 3-4 months and i have still not solution.

                                    Now they say :-

                                    "We would like to reiterate that the billing for the month of November has already happened, hence the amount of the structured repayment plan of Rs. XXXX stands no more valid."

                                    I have mails of every discussion and also documented each talks i had with citibank representatives.

                                    Please help me how should i proceed.

                                      Hi,

                                      I was charged a service charge of Rs 250 every month for not mainitaing the minimum balance according to the new policy of the bank. Bank had earlier communicated that I should maintain a mim balance of 5000 in my account which I always did. Bank had changed this mimimum balance amount from 5000 to 10000 and then to 25000 which was not communicated to me by the bank. Now, they are not willing to refund the service charges to me.

                                      This is looting customers amount by making policy changes and not informing about it to customers.

                                      I had a salary account with citi bank and after changing the company my salary accout got changed and I visited my nearest Citi bank office with my cheque book and ATM card to cancle my accout as I dont want to continue the account. I rote an application to the Branch manager Delhi for the cancelation of my accoun and got it stamped by the officer. Still if they charge the what should I do?
                                      I think people should go to consumer court to get the refund with interest and court expenses

                                        i am holding citi bank card no-[protected]. i have taken loan of rs 60, 000 for 2 years. i have to pay emi @ 2937. i do the same. in month of Jan'09 i was out of India and my emi was late for 3 days, but about this i was not informed.and this emi was credited into next month Feb'09. but after that i conted to custmor care & requested to levied the charges& they assure also. but now citi bank is showing Rs 2000. outstanding against me, whears i have pad all my emi on time .request to look into the matter.
