i am using citibank credit card for more than three years and my payment is always before time.

Recently i received a communication from citibank that they, without my concent, have reduced my credit limit from 60, 000 to 30, 000.

that was not all suddenly they called me up and said that I have overspend on my credit card by Rs. 4000 therefore i need to make an immidiate payment. when I asked them how you have allowed me to spend more they said that it is their mistake.

Than started a painful (real pain in the neck and everywhere else) process of telecallers. i am receiving a call every day from the telecallers. first call came around 15th of July where i spent half an hour explaining that it is not my mistake of overspending, as I never asked for an uplift. therefore why should I make a payment immediately I will only pay on the due date. the executive told me that yes my due date is 6th of August and I should make a payment before that. He also confirmed that there would not be another call for the same. I clearly communicated that I will make the payment before 6th so please dont call me before 4th. he agreed for the same.

To my ultimate angre the very next day I got a call again and this time the telecaller was also very rude, I completely lost my tempre and asked her to put me up with her senior. she did that and her senior looked at my record and said that yes you can make the payment before 6th and now nobody will call you before 4th august. that call has eaten away my complete one business hour.

despite the confirmation, next days I was on tour and constantly getting calls everyday from citibank. i recognised the number so I stopped picking up.

My patient really gone for a toss when once again I got a call today (30/07/09) from citibank for the same and the caller was again not pleasent. i immediately asked him to put me on to his senior which he did and when I spoke with the senior and again the senior confirmed that there is an update in the system that nobody should call you before 4th and she apologiesd for the same.

but i completely and thoughroly pissed off by their calling me everyday I desperately need advice as to how and to whom i should complaint so that these things can be stopped.

somebody pls help.

When I got the loan that time I also took Tata AIG Insurance from citi group. Till this date I am not received any single details summary from citi not a single letter. Please I would like to know how much loan till this month I paid. Please send my details of my personal loan, monthly status.

        I applied for Home loan thru IDBI bank. They told me that I am citibank credit card defaulter but not disclosing the card no. My cibil Report control no. is[protected].

        I did not cheat any bank.No one institution is ready to disclose the information.How can i get the information about the defaulter credit card details and settle it.

          I am presently holding a Citibank Indian oil credit card# 5546XXXXX3008 in the name of sarabjeet singh kalra at the address 1c-144, Namdhari colony, Kirti Nagar, New Delhi-110015. As on date their is no such amount outstanding on my credit card and I haven't misused it or several other credit cards which presently I am holding.

          Being a Manager in one of leading Bank of the industry, I am very much aware of the T&C of credit cards and it's usage. So I have never tried to mis use it as it spoils my credibility in the market. Every thing was working fine with my Citibank cc till last 5-6 months.

          But from the last 5-6 months I am receiving calls from mathura road collection division that a sum of 70-80 thousand is outstanding on my credit card # [protected] which surprisingly is not my card. I have never received this card physically and the number is also different from the card available with me.

          On my further discussion with cust care executive 4 months back it came to my knowledge that above mentioned card is in the name of Mr. Sarabjeet Singh with a diff DOB, Diff address i.e. of Vaishali, Gaziabad, Diff mother's name but with a common mobile number i.e. [protected]. On further enquiry with the executive he also informed me that transactions has been done from Gaziabad and I have been never to Gaziabad in my life.

          It was also agreed by the cust care executives that this sum does not belong to me and they have confirmed that in future no calls pertaining to outstanding amt will be given to me. But from last week again I am getting calls from collection division mathura road.

          After complaining to citi they come up with a reply that your contact details has been wrongly updated on the defaulter's card and also your pan no. has been updated on his credit card which same has also been sent to CIBIL.

          Dear Sir,

          Sub: - Wrongly debited my account of my credit card.
          Reg: - Card No: [protected]

          With Ref to above the following are the facts:-

          (1) My card no [protected] Issued by you and I had carried out various transaction and paid my due in time.
          (2) I had phone call from Citibank NA and are telling various facility like online payment of different bills through citi bank and I had registered the same for my cell with “orange SI”
          (3) But due to bad service in that particular period i.e tower heavy congestion I had discontinued with them and correspondently instructed yourself to cancel my standing instruction towards “Orange SI” on 2nd Jan 2003 and talk with miss pooja in Mumbai office.
          (4) But I had seen in my bill that my request was not register and you had made the payment wide their statement dt 13/12/2002 to 11/01/2003, where as I had given my request on 02/01/2003 but you had made the payment on 09/01/2003.
          (5) Even in your Mumbai I had talked with miss pooja and she told me that she will cancel the said card then automatically my standing instruction will get cancelled but I have to pay Rs. 100/- for replacement of my card which even you had charged in the statement period 12/01/03 to 12/02/03 and even I had paid by Ch. No 812846 dt 17/02/03 Rs 843=20
          (6) Even I had mad written application dt 17th Feb 2003 to Miss Abirami and I had fax on[protected] at 18=21 requesting the same.
          (7) Now my new card no [protected] statement period 13/02/03 to 12/03/03
          in which you had once again debited my Account by Rs 1114=29
          (8) Statement period 13/03/2003 to 11/04/03 you had debited my card for Rs. 874=9


          Afterwards Rajaram mgmt services pvt ltd had approached me that please give
          me the payment and I will give you settlement receipt as soon as your payment cheque clear from your bank. So I had given the statement in which I had paid Rs. 1398 as per the statement.

          Afterwards I had signed declaration form dt. 30/06/2003 in which I had shown all facts but no out come.

          Even your staff is calling from different different location and threating my staff over phone twice or thrice in a week or even several time in a day which give me mental torchure and I spoil my health and I have been detected minor blood pressure.

          Under the above circumstances I request your good selves to consider this matter earnestly as grievances of consumer and instruct your Credit Card Dept not to hares customer and the same letter give it to me for my future shield.

              Hi,
              I, Deepak Kamble, am citibank customer. My acc no is [protected]. I lost my debit card on July 12, 2009. I called citibank on same day (12 July 2009) and blocked my old card and put request for new card. I was told that I would get card within 4 working days i.e. July 16, 2009. I havent got my card till today, Jun 23. I called many times to Citibank call center and the reply was very disappointing. First time they gave me courier cos no and told me to talk to courier company guys. For next three times, they asked for some time for replying and I was told that I would get call from them regarding the status. But they never called. It happened many times. Two weeks after the request, they still dont know the status.
              I am without the card for two weeks. I cant operate my account. I cant do online banking. What the hell is this .? Why these guys are paid for ..?
              Will somebody please look into the matter.

                Dear Sir,

                I want to launch a complaint about citybank credit card department that from first day iam recieving problem from city bank side . Firstly i was not recieving statements at time . Now that problem was that i submitted cheque of rs 5000 at citibank drop box cheque no. was 901299 of HDFC bank . I spoke to ur customer care department multiple times but they refused that they have recived any cheque u can check it from ur customercare recording also . Today i asked for settlement of y card and i got a no. 66525800 and i asked her should i launch a fir against my lost cheque than she told me abut that cheque her name was Neha . she also told e that i have written wrong card no. if it was done why i was not informed for that and y city bank was refusing for cheque which was recived by citybank . Is this shameless activities is going on with ur customers . I told them to reversal of late payment chareges they also refused to that u can check the date of my cheque the cheque was send at write time, this is how u r cheating with ur customers and when i ask to make coplaint at consumer form ur customer care peopls says ur wish, i know its my wish . It is shame less activities done by citibank . Before submiting complaint at consume forum i still want to inform u about all have suffered because of citybank .                 I have been a good customer of city for 21 years, with no late payments or other negative issues on my account. Unfortunately do to a very stressful life stile I have made a mistake and overdrew my back account by $30.00 and my payment to city was returned, Yes it was my mistake and I am willing to lose my promotional rate of 4.05% but City is now charging me 25% and regardless of numerous efforts of pliding with them to lower the rate and not put me in such a distress situation. All I get is sorry we can't help you.
                This feels almost illegal, and the fact that my tax dollars are use to bail out some of these company’s is almost unfair I wish I had the option to tell them “I’m sorry I can’t help you”

                It is submitted that I am a holder of credit card No. [protected] issued from your bank. I could not pay installment in June 2008 due to non receipt of bill. After that I had contacted your costumer care a lot of time to waive off late fee and he assured me that it will be waived off but the same was not waived off at the same time I went out of Delhi and when I came back in I found that there was regularly late fee added in bill . I again contacted to costumer care and requested them to settle down the matter but they did not ready to settle the matter.

                Sir, I am ready to pay my outstanding due as per statement of August 2008 without any late fee and service charges which were imposed by you un necessarily and illegally, because I am not in fault to this delay. Kindly depute your representative to settle down the matter as earliest.

                  I would also like to have the information for the same that the statement states that the interest for the whole tenure is covered in the beginning and then the principal in such a case then the foreclosure would the calculated on what basis

                  The interest committed to me at the time of the deal with associates India ltd committed to me before the disbursement was 14% P.A. But the statement never stated the rate of interest also i fail to understand that i have two different statments one with rate of intrest @ 16.50% and one at the rate of 18.25 % please clarifiy the same

                  Above all the problems i would request you to send me statement with the maximum waiver possible even in the past i had tried to foreclose the loan but due to the charges were not reduced and hence i could not do the same

                  As the PDC which were given at the time of disbursement in the past has expired and hence forth no communication has come from your side for the more PDC S then why should i be charged to penal and cheque bouncing

                      Hello Consumer Forum,

                      Please let me know how should I go further to lodge a complaint against CITI bank. Please read the following question that has been asked by me 2 months ago at yahoo answers, and I have Cheque form till now in my wallet. However, when I called customer care department of the CITI bank, they told me that they doesn't have any cheque with no. given by me. And told me to go to HDFC bank. As I physically visited the branch where I submitted the cheque, they also told me to talk to customer care department. Its a harrasment, and want to know does Banks has rights to keep the money if someone submit money faultly.

                      I have never expected to experience that kind of foul play by a giant bank like CITI bank. Please give me a solution should I expect to get my money return or
                      should I forget the same.

                      Please if any body here knows the perfect way and procedures then plz advice asap...

                      My Complain Question :

                      I have deposited a cheque of HDFC bank on CITI bank but i dont have any account with citi bank.. It was supposed to deposited on Standard Chartered where i
                      have a saving account.. It was a silly mistake but i dont know will I be able to retrieve the money. Actually on that day .. i went to citi bank branch near noida, and wrote all the information on cheq deposit form, (i have a slip though), I had filled up the account no. of standered chartered and attached my cheq and deposited.

                      However I have written the account no. and my signature on the back side of the cheque.. now the big issue is my friend who issued this cheq told me that the amount has been transferred from his account.. but HOW and WHERE??? I ve visited the bank where i deposited on cheq box, but they are just asking me to contact customer care .. but without any account how would i connect with customer care .. i ve never thought this kind of response..but very disappointed ... please let me know how would I get my money back... urgent reply needed...plz

                      C when some one deposit the chk the amount will be deducted from the issuers account at the End of day ( under process EOD Clearing).that's y money has been debited from your frds account.
                      now that money is with clearing house. ( A govt body who rules interbank transactions) .
                      Since u dont have a account with citi bank they will deposit the money back to your frds account after checking with citi bank in some days so dont worry.Citibank people cant help u as u r not der customer.
                      then also i[censored] want them to give u the info call their customer care n tell them about your problem, they will tell u whats der role.

                      Dont panic your money wont go any where.

                        Hi,

                        I am Naseem. Recently i have applied a personal loan with CITIBANK and HDFC, both got rejected due to CIBIL rejection. I didn`t get any explanation from both the banks. When asked about the rejection both bank responded that "Its confidential to the bank and they will not be able to provide any information". After lot of argument HDFC bank told i`m a defaulter in 6 Credit cards and they refused to provide any further information. This was a shocking information for me. I have closed all my credit card 2 years before and from last 2 years i`m not using any credit cards. Any help suggesstion on this will be very helpful.

                          This is for your information that myself Mr. kukadia falgun p, i have a citibank gold credit card whose last four digit is ************2000. our credit card department call me twice a day & ask me to pay an amount of interest of Rs.6000/- for the total amount of Rs.35959.91 for one month but i ask him why should you are taking this much of interest for a month they reply me to call in customer care but i dont need this thingh in orale i want this thingh in written that's why i had written this mail to you.

                            Due to heavy loss I have closed my business in the year 2002 and at the time of closing the firm my citibank card overdue payment is Rs.35, 000.00, Now I am interested to settle the above outstanding amount of Rs.35, 000.00 only as OTS, in this regard I have sent a mail to Citibank, Chennai but they said to accept 1 Crore an something inclusive of INT and other charges.

                            Please note that from that date of closed my firm I am working as a merchandiser in one of the Knitwear export company in Tirupur and the present salary is only sufficient for running my family expenses. In this situation I have deciced to arrange to barrow the money from my MD personally and settle this account.

                            Please how and where I can approch for settele my overdue amount with CITIBANK

                              I have my salary account in Citi Bank and I have a Citi Bank credit card.

                              They make lot o[censored]nsolicited calls to my mobile number and office number about offers.

                              It is illegal and unethical to make unsolicited calls to someone so many times a day about unwanted and useless offers. Who gave them this right? Are they not ashamed to pester people like this? Don't they have any business ethics? They are faceless coverds. They are after my money.

                              If they meet me personally I will teach them a lesson. Instead of troubling people like this, why don't they stand in the road and beg.

                              Moral of the story: Don't accept any offer from unsolicited calls. If you do, they will make your life hell. Because now they know your weakness.

                              Citibank — unsolicited calls

                              I have received around 4-5 calls from number 91 [protected] a citi bank employee inpsite of clearly telling her not to make call for personal loans ... she kept on called again and again .. again today I recieved call ... inpsite of tell her .. I will file complaint in police she make call. I am fed up can citibank take action against there agent ...

                              This no [protected] send me objectional mesges and calls but on the other time cellphone remains switch off so i badly need the name and address of this user
                              Pesky calls from 65800789 Citibank during work hours peddling credit cards. This is a cognizable offence, and being a bank of such large revenues you are not even aware of this??!! Shame on you!

                                This is regarding the withdrawal of Rs 2000 from the Citi ATM located in Paradigm, 9th floor, Bank of America, Mindspace, Malad West.

                                On 8th July, I wanted to withdraw Rs 2000, however, on keying in the necessary details, the ATM dispensed only Rs 1950. It also reduced my bank balance by Rs 2000. I immediately contacted Citi Bank on the helpline and filed a complaint. Confirmation # [protected]. They told me that I would receive a response within 48 working hours.

                                I received a call from Citi on July 13, 2009, from a representative named Alpana telling me the necessary investigation was done and the ATM dispensed the right amount. Inspite of telling her repeatedly that I have the notes and have not yet used them and thru that they should be able to track the serial nos. so as to determine their error, she was not willing to help me. All she kept saying is the ATM gave the correct amount and they cannot do anything about it.

                                I asked for a supervisor and received a call from Supervisor Mayuri on July 14, 2009 who told me that the investigation was based on a form that shows the amount of Rs 2000 was debited. They did not check the serial nos on the notes or do any detailed investigation.

                                Citi was not willing to help me at all and hence I am approaching the consumer forum to help me with this issue. All I want is my money returned. For me Rs 50 is alot and I am sure though this email I will receive the help required.

                                I have still not used a single note that came out of the ATM on July 8th and have kept it since that will be only proof.

                                Looking forward to hearing from you soon and I am sure I will not be disappointed.

                                  This is about foreclosing my personal Loan. I have paid all the dues what ever they quoted in the foreclosure letter and after 20 days of payment also citibank people says its not in our records and they charged me latest EMI also. this is very bad and nobody know where my money gone. its not small money to take light it is above 4 lacks and they dont have any information about the money I have paid. there is not coordination with different departments. All managers in citibank are working as buffoons. Never go for a personal loan in life. if you take it dont try to close it. If you want to close you have to struggle like me.

                                    MY CREDIT CARD NO [protected] LOST & I REQUEST FOR DUPLICATE (NEW) ONE 10-14 DAYS BACK, TILL DATE NOT RECEIVED.

                                    YESTERDAY CALLED UP CUSTOMER CARE IN THE EVENING INFORMING NOT RECEIVAL OF CREDIT CARD BUT FOLLOWING HAPPENING HAPPENED :
                                    FIRST, THE BEHAVIOUR OF CUSTOMER CARE WAS SO RUDE & DISCONNECTED THE PHONE.

                                    SECOND, AGAIN CALLED, THEN THE LADY WAS ASKED 15 QUESTIONS WHICH REPLY GIVEN THEN WANTED TO CONFIRM LAST PAYMENT MADE AT LAST WHICH ANSWER WAS GIVEN AS RS.14025 OR RS.14021 ON WHICH SHE WANTED TO CONFIRM ONE AMT. ... REQUESTED DRIVING CAN NOT CONFIRM BUT SHE WAS RIGID & RUDE... FINALLY SHE DISCONNECTED THE PHONE WITH STAEMENT "THANK U CONTACTING CITIBANK, HAVE A NICE DAY"... IT CAN BE CONFIRMED FROM YOUR RECORDED VOICE CENTRE.

                                    CITIBANK DESPITE REPEATED EFFORTS, WE ARE UNABLE TO REACH YOU REGARDING YOUR QUERY AT CITIPONE. PLEASE CALL BACK CITIPHONE BANKING FOR SPEEDY RESOLUTION... ABSOLUTE , , NO BODY TRIED TO CONTACT ME".

                                    NO BODY CAME FROM BLUE DART BUT RECEVD SMS THAT "WE TRIED TO DELIVER SHIPMENT NO.[protected] FROM CITIBK. SELECT DELIVERY TIMESLOT, ACO900-120, REPLIED THE SMS FROM 56767 THAT THANK U FOR YOUR RESPONSE... BUT AGAIN NO BODY TRY TO CONTACT...

                                    I BELIEVE CITIBANK HAS CLOSE THE SERVICES AS ITS

                                    STAFF IS WASTE... UNETHICAL... BIG LIERS... NO BUSINESS PRACTICES USED... ALL SENT TO THEIR CUSTOMERS... AND WHEN REQUEST TO PUT US TO THEIR SUPERVISOR THEY SAY "THANK U CALLING CITIBANK, HAVE A NICE DAY';; IF THEY WOULD HAVE WITH MY ORGANISATION, THEY MUST SAKED WITH SUCH BAHAVIOURS WITH CUSTOMERS... EVEN NO CALL BACK GIVEN...

                                    I have a Citibank card in which I pay off the balance each month.
                                    I recently received a notice of an APR change. The reasons given:
                                    1) I do not make the minimum payment when due
                                    2) go over the credit line, or
                                    3) make a payment to us that is not honored.

                                    Now the APR change does not affect me because I pay off the balance each month.
                                    But I was insulted by form letter that was sent out to me.
                                    Upon calling, it became clear to me that the company wants to get rid of "deadbeats" like myself. If Citibank insults the customer, they'll then likely tear up their card.

                                    My answer is: don't tear up your card. Each month use the card to buy a stick of gum. Let's tie up Citibank for the billing. Granted, my return postage will cost more than the gum.
                                    But it's worth it.

                                      Dear Team,

                                      This is with reference to my citibank credit card for which i have done a final settlement.
                                      To just give you a brief i had taken a loan on card, Which i was not able to pay for a while due
                                      to personal financial problems. I then settled the card as full and final settlement with the bank,
                                      Through a agency deployed by the bank. I have got the settlement letter from the bank.
                                      The settlement value was 2.5 Lak.

                                      My current problem is that i want a loan to manage my current situation which is not possible due
                                      to name in CIBIL.

                                      Pls. suggest and guide me how to approach and whom to for resolving this problem.
                                      I sincerely belive that once i have paid the amount there should be not hurdels for the banks to
                                      send a responce to CIBIL since the settlement was mutually done.

                                      City Bank Card — I want to final settlement

                                      Respected Sir,
                                      My son Mr. Narendranath Reddy has taken a credit card. and he misuse it. It will came to my notice after few days. now he is not in my house. but the credit card holders are arrashing to finalise the amount. I agree and settle the amount for Rs. 30,000/- by 10 instalments. I paid three instalments also. but I am not welthy to pay that amount also due to my financial problems. I want to settle the amount by anyway. please would you arrange the settlement with CITY BANK holders for few amount.

                                      all credit information are sent to CIBIL, citibank would have not send your latest information to CIBIL on your closure, contact citibank customer care, blast them and ask them to update the details in CIBIL or let me them know you will file a case with consumer court. one of my friend did that last week and he got his records corrected in CIBIL and his loan got approved. i will get intouch with him on what are the details you need inorder to get in touch with CIBIL

                                      I am using ICICI credit card since 3yrs from 2007 to 2009. 21/2 years I have made the payment regularly without fail. But November & December 2008 I could not made the credit card payment, due to some financial problems. That time my outstanding was Rs. 23, 700/-, (approx) In the month of January 2009 With out intimating me they have debited Rs. 9, 500/- from my Savings account, which is kept for Loan EMI. Because of that my loan EMI cheque got bounced. Immediately I went to the bank and asked about the reason, they have not responded me properly. Since then I stopped paying the amount to ICICI credit card.

                                      Now, recently they have called me after 5 months regarding the same (Now the outstanding is 44, 400/-). I asked them to settle for Rs. 15, 000/-. One of the ICICI Credit Card representative saying that If I go for the settlement (paying the amount Rs. 15, 000/-) for the said amount in one payment, my account details will not go to CIBIL.

                                      My questions are...
                                      1. Can I go for the settlement.
                                      2. As per the ICICI Credit Card representative, If I go for settlement, my name will not be added on CIBIL.
                                      3. How can I believe them.
                                      4. Will they give in written saying that my name will not be added in CIBIL on the settlement letter.

                                      Please advise, how should I proceed in this case.

                                        - Despite logging request to deactivate card, renewal fees were deducted
                                        - When complaint was raised, I was told that the transaction cannot be reversed
                                        - I refused to pay the renewal charge and since then various charges have been accumulting onto it.
                                        - Have sent mails and also had discussions with collection agents multiple times
                                        - Statement keeps comming in e-mail and amount due now is Rs 42000+ from the initial Rs 2500 renewal charge that I had refused to pay

                                        2. too many querries which are difficult to answer because of fading of bill/reciept.
                                        3. bills non payment charges make the amount hefty.
