Dear Sirs,

I have an account with Citibank and also a credit card from them, when I contacted them for a foreclosure on the credit card, this was because they did not have explanations to the astonishing interest charges.

I spoke to a gagged mouthed staff, who speak like robots with the same answers, it was pathetic and finally one of their officer called me and told that I can stop payment on my credit card and it should go to the collection agency, unfortunately I believed his words and waited for the agent, but till date I did not get an agent coming by my house (or ) over the phone to speak for 1 long year.

My credit card had an amount of RS 30, 000 and now it went to -1, 32, 000. I was shocked to notice that Citibank has blocked my sividha account (RS 23, 000) and does not still want to talk settlement even now, please provide your guidance, Thanks.

    Hello Sir/Madam,

    Good Morning, 5 years back I had a Citibank Credit Card (Credit Card # [protected]) issued on October, 2005 with credit limit of Rs.14000/- which was linked with a Citibank salary account. I made so many transactions and paid outstanding so many times to Citibank. In 2006 my grandmother was very ill so I go back my home town with bag and baggage, unfortunately at that point of time I was not able to paid remaining outstanding of approx Rs.11,000/-. I came back to Delhi after 2 years in May, 2007 and got job in June, 2007 and opened another new salary account in Citibank (Citibank account# [protected]), because previous account had been closed.

    Now, Citibank debited 10,607.65 from my Citibank salary account (account# [protected]) on 31-May-2010 without any prior notice/information.

    Citibank made 11,000/- to 96,000/- includes very high interest rate and additional charges. I am a service class person and having family of 5 members including 11 months old baby girl, how I can pay back 96,000 to Citibank against 11,000. Since Citibank started to debit credit card’s outstanding from my Citibank salary account so, I am struggling to fulfill basic needs or bread and butter with remaining amount of my salary after deduction. Please help me to get this case resolved as early as possible

    I have not enclosed any documents as a proof, because I don't have any documents. I have taken all the information related to credit cards from Citibank customer service.

      One Mr Anand from Citifinancial collection agent ([protected]) after I left to office, entered my house and abused my wife (House wife) for late payment EMI and threatened to kill me if I am paying the money to his collection agent.

      This is a very highhandedness. My wife is scare of staying at home alone after this incident. I donot understand is it the way of behaving with people at home. My balance is total Rs.10000.00

        hi,
        i received ipin along with this card. i changed this ipin no immediatly. i forgot my ipin no after some time due to my business. i request citi bank to change my ipin no on 26may2010. they told me that there is a option in their website, if i go through their website there is option to change ipin no for credit card and all other cards and not suitable for card which i am holding.

        so i ireplied to citi bank. CITI Bank Customer Head (S.prasad and sujith.kumar) told me and repeated me the same thing. so i decided to enter in that, after 6 attempts, it went invalid.

        again i informed to citi bank, now they are telling me to wait another 30 days to get my new ipin no. by the time i will return to india after short period of time. in between the time, i need to send monthly wise statement to my office.

        there is no proper guidance from citi bank and there is no proper website to perform this. nothing is proper. citi bank world no 1 worst bank and giving very very worst thing. they never care about customers problems.

        Dont keep any account in this citi bank. you will lose money.

          I close my account Aug.2009
          Till today I have not recevied any policy Which co insured this loan.
          After so many calls to coustmercare citi bank refund me only RS.5705.19p
          So You are request please look in this matter & refund my balance amount after 3 yaer

            I would appreciate if CITIBank refrain sending confidential documents through "First flight Courier Service". I faced lot of probelm getting my courier delivered to me... The status was shown "Delivered on 5th May" itself but I got the courier in hand on 26th May after a long tracing and many calls to different first flight telephone numbers... HECTIC Service.. So pls dont send couriers through "FIRSTFLIGHT" Please...

              I am Head of Operations in Kellogg India, which is also an American Company like yours. I am a BTech. from I.I.T Delhi and an MBA from ISB Hyderabad. On 25th May afternoon from around 12:15 pm I started getting calls on my board line, then on my direct line and then on my mobile number. These calls were made from following Delhi number: [protected], 433, 434 and 435, by Ajay Jain and Vipul. They told me that there is an outstanding of 7 Lacs on my Citi Card No: [protected]. I have discontinued using this card since 2000, when I had relocated to Dubai. I had offered them if they give me the details I will pay up whatever is required to be paid. But they asked me that I have to pay up immediately an amount of INR 60K, which they reduce to 40K later. Even after my repeatedly telling them they did not provide me with any details. And threatened me that if I don’t agree to pay up immediately they will call up my HR head, Directors and other colleague to tarnish my reputation. They seem to know all my details including my previous jobs; I am concerned this information can be used for other criminal activities. I had received more than 150 calls in a period of 4 hrs from them. It was not possible for me to do any work in the office, hence I was forced to go out and pay up the amount in cash at TCS e-Serve Ltd. in Andheri. I was called every 5 minutes even when I was driving from my office to the TCS office. Since I was able to withdraw only 25K from my ATM, they agreed to take payment of 25.7K and balance to be paid next day. I am not sure how this is possible in a reputed banking system; it was like I was dealing with a set of terrorist and not a bank. It was one of the most horrific experiences of my life. Even after I had agreed to pay up the genuine amount, I was treated like a criminal and not even given a day’s time to look into the details and make the required payment.

              I am determined to take up the matter with the required governing bodies in the Indian banking sector and consumer forums, so that others can be saved from this kind of harassment. I am attaching the copies of the receipt and the letter that was given to me post depositing the cash.

              Even after a day of the incident I am not able to come out of the trauma, I was made to undergo. I have also cancelled the Citi Bank credit card (Card No: [protected]) that I was presently holding post the incident. Request you to kindly put some one to look into my case at the earliest. I wanted to bring it up to you, so that you can set systems in place, as stipulated by law of the country.

                Hi ,

                I have been using CITI Bank credit card for almost one year with proper payment against the bills.

                Suddenly on 19th Nov 2009 I got a letter from CITI bank saying I had requested for change of billing address and as per my request new bill address is updated in CITI bank system.

                But I havent requested for any such billing address change. Immediately I called up the customer care and blocked the card for further use or any mis-use. Also I requested through CITI bank customer care that let me know the medium (Mail, telephonic, physical letter) I had requested for the change but CITI bank officials are still not able to provide me the reason how my billing address is changed.

                I am following up with CITI bank for last six months since from Nov 2009 till date but no positive resolution is there. Also Once i vistited to CITI bank branch at New delhi at Mathura Road Nr TATA office but there CITI bank officer said I need to contact only through customer care.

                I had written mail to Head Customer Care head.[protected]@citigroup.com,
                [protected]@citi.com, c.l.[protected]@citi.com. Today on 25th May 2010 I got mail from grievance Manager from CITI bank that I have not co-operated in findings the reason how the address is updated and revert that I had to pay all amount in card including interest. When I called to customer care first time I had already informed to customer care agent that I will pay only the amount which I had used and not any penalty or interested on the card.

                I request you all if any body can help me out on my case.

                  This is with reference to the series of incidents that is going on with Citibank for the past few months. My complaint is that Citibank credit cards has been changing the billing cycle without informing the customer. Apart from that their delivery of hard copy of the bill is also very much delayed, usually reaching me after the mentioned due date.
                  Effect of the above mentioned activities by Citibank has been disastrous on me. Frequent change in billing cycle means frequent change in bill payment due date, and failure to pay the same would result in huge fines. Since their bill statement also is reaching me late, i've ended up paying the fine for the second time.

                  On inquiring with their customer care, i was told that the change in billing cycle will reflect only in the next month bill, and there will not be any intimation to pay before the due date.

                  Wonder why the billing cycle is frequently changed by the bank, even if they do, don't they have any ethical values so as to inform the customer about the same and help him from saving the fine amount? Or is this the best way by which the bank can make money, if so, government should seriously look into this matter and provide strict guidelines to ensure such malpractice is not done by any of the banks...

                  Hope I'm not the only person being affected by Citibank, please support my cause and may other customers also be saved from such fraudulent practices by the bank

                    My Loan was Top in the year 2008 and it was informed to me on the phone that Sir after TOP UP of loan I have to pay the Sum of Rs,16000 around per month if I repay the amount in 24 installments.My Card No.Is [protected].I regularily paid the amount tll 18 installments paid.The statement send by the bank every month also confirms every month that I have to pay 24 installments in all.But suddenley after 15 Installments they change the Statement as well as reference no and now sayeing I have to pay 36 installments.I surprised and stop payment with the instructions that you can collect your outstanding amount of loan up to 24 months only.for the balance i will not pay.But now they are threating to me on phone we will send your name to the CIBIL.I checked my wife account also on her card also suddenly they increased the installments from 36 to 41.Although every months statement sent by them shows and confirms that I have to pay only 36 installments.in the account of my wife account and 24 installments in my account.

                      This is regarding a fraud that I was the victim of on my Citibank Platinum Credit Card # [protected] and the inadequate protection offered by Citibank on one of its most premium credit cards that takes advantage of the consumer's inability to hold them accountable.

                      On 9 -April, my Citibank Platinum Credit Card was compromised for transactions worth Rs.35,480/- that took place at 3 locations at Dadar. I am was then at the Hindustan Unilever Office at Chakala where I work. On getting the SMS intimation of the transcation I realised that I was not in possession of my card and tried calling Citiphone banking immediately to block the card. While placing the call I got disconnected a number of times while I was on waiting for a citiphone officer and by the time I finally made the complaint and the card was blocked - 4 transcations worth Rs 35,480 were already made on this card. I have filed a writen complaint with the Dadar police station on this and I have also done some of my preliminary investigation at the shops where these transactions took place. At one of the shops - Tribhuvan Jewellers, Ranande Road, Dadar there was a closed circuit camera that caught footage of a young girl who made these transactions. I have given the same to the police. I have also offered the same to Citibank.

                      Despite adequate information that clearly states that I was not the person who made the transaction nor the person who authorised them on the charge slip (the counterfoil of the transcations does not contain my signature), citibank continues to hold me liable for the transactions and has threatened to malign my credit history (I have a mail to thsi effect) if I do not pay them for this. I dispute this for the following reasons:

                      1. It is clear that I am not the person who has made these transactions. There is an accepted letter of complaint that was submitted by me at the Dadar Police Station. There is also available footage from the shop camera at Tribhuvan Jewelers that shows that I was not the person who made this transaction. This has been submitted to the police.

                      2. The signature on the authorization slips is not mine - this is something you can verify with citibank with tehir records of my signature. The back of the credit card carried my original signature. It is therefore between the bank and the merchant to figure out why the signature was not matched when the transaction was done. This is something that Citibank needs to sort out with the retail establishments.

                      3. It was clear that the person who did the transaction was in a hurry, did not look like someone who could own a platinum card, did not leave her address on being asked to at the jewellery shops and yet the signature was not verified at the time of the transaction. The merchant at this point does not check the signature because the bank does not hold him liable on even a most obvious crime. This tantamounts to Citibank abetting crime by allowing the merchant no liability even on not doing a basic check such as signature comparison between the charge slip and the back of the credit card or informing the bank on suspicion.

                      4. Citiphone banking system is designed to delay the attendance of a customers call even in the case of emergency. When I called on 09/04 to block my card on receiving the first two messages of the transactions, my call was dropped while waiting in queue for an operator to pick up. In any case there is a 3-4 step process to get through to any operator who can block your card by which time more transactions had already happened on my card. Citi Phone banking systems are not designed to safeguard customers interests and they are allowed to dupe consumers just because they are not held liable for any such situation.

                      I would like the consumer court to intervene to ensure that rules set by banks and such organisations are not skewed to just protecting their interests and offer a basic level of protection to the consumer as well. Also merchants are at least at the most basic level expected to verify signatures on the transaction and report suspicious behaviour to avoid more such incidents from happening. Today it is in the merchants' interest to let very transcation through since there is no liability and only gain for him, given that the credit card companies do not have rules in place to hold them liable like the hold liable consumers.

                      Citibank Platinum Credit Card — Card not received

                      I am Citibank Gold card customer for last 7 years. Recently, I was informed that based on my Good track record, they have decided to upgrade me to Platinum club. And then immed they blocked my Gold card and sent me a new card, which never reached me.

                      Despite various communications and address confirmation, the card was sent to my 6 year old address in a different city. In spite of bringing this fact to Citibanks attention, the card was not resent. But I have started getting "amount due" reminders.

                      City Bank Credit Card — realisation of credit points

                      this is to state that i was alloted citi bank credit card and bonus points were awarded to me after purchasing/usage from credit card.
                      when i tried to encash these awarded points i was instructed to use the card for purchasing through Jetairways whereas i was not inform about this special card card of jetairways while at the allotment of the card.
                      i usually dont use fieght facilities for travelling purposes, why should the card be used for this purpose?
                      kindly readress this grievence for providing me awarded credit points or arrange to allot fresh credit card.

                      I have not received my Citi Bank Credit Card via First Flight vide AWB#CC5208333. Please check that and send it as soon as possible. It is very urgent.

                      Citibank Platinum Credit Card — Misuse on bank's behalf

                      I was dealing with the citibank platinum cedit card with the citibank since 2008(limit of 92, 000), I did made several purchases on the card(total of 45, 000), which I dully converted into EMI's of 4, 350 monthly and was making regular paymens till februry 2009.I made a regular practice of paying my installements through my co-operation bank savings account.in the month of january, as usual citibank recieved my cheque on time but they also debited the same amount out of my citibank salary account.Next month again I depositted my installment on time but in the month of march I recieved bill statement stating that i have a zero(0.00) balance to be paid.Also the statement showed that the bank has recived two cheques of Rs 92, 000 each towards my bill????When i called up the customer care t know about the cheques, they claimed that these cheques are of the bank Kotak Mahindra.
                      I informed the customer care people that I never issued those cheques.They claimed that citibank will send me a complaint letter which i have to fill u and send them back so that these cheques should not effect my EMI's going on.But nothing of that sort happened.I never recieved any of those complint letter instead I started recieving collection alls stating that i have to pay them a lumpsum amount of 50, 000 something.
                      Also on several occassions I sent many complaint e-mails to their redressal officer but the only reply that I got was to get in touch with Kotak Mahindra.
                      the bank is not ready to understand a very simple fact that WHEN I OWE A SUM OF Rs 45, 000(OUT OF WHICH I PAID THEM Rs 25, 000 IN INSTALLMENTS THEN WHY WILL I SEND THEM Rs1, 84, 000??Openly ignoring my complaint calls and e-mails, they kept on charging me 17, 000 as just the interest.Please help me with some legal advice so that this problem can be sorted out.
                      I have all the intentions to pay but only the amount that i genuinly owe, which as per my records is nothing more than Rs 25, 000

                        This is the second time that I have tried to book a ticket online and your server is down. When in urgent need of booking tickets my transactions fail because there is some problem in your server.

                        Citibank credit cards — Rude and Unprofessional behavior

                        Hi,
                        My name is Dipti John and I hold 2 credit cards silver and gold cards with citibank since 5 years due to the recession I was not able make pmt on my cards for 2 months but I always made sure that there is some sort of minimum payment sent on the card, as I am aware that it was my credit but I was really annoyed when there were unwanted charges getting applied on the cards. I had started the card with a credit limit of Rs 30, 000 but today my min pmt on the acct each month comes upto Rs[protected] on one of the cards which are not acceptable. even after making regular pmt of Rs[protected] each month bank had sent a representative to my parents house who abused and harassed my family members I am very disappointed with this kind of service provided by Citibank, I had tried calling the customer care and the billing dept but they were very unprofessional and rude they kept on disconnecting the line every time I explained my situation. I am looking to settle and close the account but nobody is interested in listening to a customer, I find it difficult to understand why the bank is not able understand that if they have excellent customer service they can grow there business after all its we who suggest our family, friends and relatives to be associate with the bank, but after my experience with Citibank I would never suggest anybody to get associated with citi bank.

                        I don’t know if this mail would make any difference to the bank if it does I would be really obliged.

                          Dear Sir ,

                          My parents are being regularly harassed over telephone by city bank collection agents for a loan taken by somebody ,where our residence phone nos are used . Now we do not have any control if some body uses our number in his loan application as his contact number .

                          The bank agents uses very rude and dirty languages including murder threats . My parents are both above 60 and cardiac patients and they are very scared by this . I once tried to politely explain the mater to he caller , a dirty mouthed lady , who only replied with more dirty language and threatened to murder me also . All calls are made from a number[protected].

                          Can you please let me know what cations can be taken to stop this nuisance .

                            I was a customer of Citibank holding a Credit Card no. [protected]. In 2007, my card was fraudulently used for which I made a complain to Citibank and asked them to cancel my card. The customer care people confirmed that the services to this card have been cancelled. Yet I kept on receiving bills.

                            Citibank recovery agents came to my house and asked for a minimum due payment and assured me that by doing so my name would not come in the black list and the investigation will continue. After 15 days I got a call back and my name was black listed. Nobody from Citibank wants to help me nor do they assist me in settling the matter.

                            I cannot pay the entire amount for the card which was fraudulently used. Because of their negligence and zero investigation, my name is black listed. Due to which I cannot apply for a loan.

                            If you check my credit history, I have a very clean record. I also have a HDFC bank platinum credit card with not a single payment over due. I also had a Citibank personal loan which i repaid on time.

                            Please help resolve this matter at the earliest as I require to take a loan.

                              Hi my name is Pramod Nautiyal. I was a Citi Bank Gold Credit Card holder ([protected]) . I made all my payments on time initially and later due to some financial difficulties i was not able to make payments on my account. My account was without any payments for more than 3 months and I accrued a lot of interest on the account which was correct on the part of Citi Bank. I am not denying that they shouldnt have charged me any interest. Later they came up with a restructure program for my card, where i was suppose to make 6 payments of Rs. 6917 which would take care of my card. Now all the payments were made till the month of Nov 2009. I am now trying to look for a job in TCS they do credit check only with Citi Bank. I still show as a defaulter with them. I was asked to get a copy of a NO DUE letter from Citi Bank stating that i dont have any outstanding with them. I asked Citi Bank to send me that letter. They were kind enough to mail me the letter stating that "Till date i dont have any dues with them in reference to above mentioned account. I will attach a scanned copy of the letter here. Now after submitting the letter to TCS, TCS sent the letter to Citi Bank Chennai office, so that they could give me a confirmation that i am not defaulting with them in terms of making payments. I have been trying to fix this from last 12 days. I got selected with TCS on the 29 of April and I am still not able to join. This has resulted in waste of my time and also money. Because if I would have joined the company by now i would have been eligible for at least a weeks salary and plus they offer a joining bonus of Rs 30000 if a candidate joins with a week from the day the offer was announced. So, now i will be loosing on that as well. I really dont understand what to do. When i call up Citi Bank they say that you dont have any outstanding. This directly effecting my job. Am i being penalized for setting my self with Citi Bank on a restructure payment plan ? or am i being penalized for making my payments after I was on a restructured plan on time. I really dont understand. I am really looking out for a job and Citi Bank is trying to make as much as possible hindrance on my job search even though I dont deserve it. I really dont know what to do at this stage. I m clueless and have no strength left. Please HELP ME !!!

                                  I, Anjum Kapoor, R/o H.No. 1712, Sector - 34 D, Chandigarh owned Citi Bank Credit Card, credit card no. being "[protected]", but due to hopeless services I decided to pay-off complete dues and resign from the credit card membership.

                                  Hence, as per the bank executive's statement, due amount as per June, 2007 statement was Rs. 26,126/= which I paid-off without any delay and hence, no due were pending. For same, please find attached the statement.

                                  But even after clearance of dues, the bank has consistently been harrasing me for almost three years now and calling me on mobile phone and sending their executives at my home to harrass me unnecessarily. I have made several verbal and written requests to settle the account but no step has been taken for same.

                                  Dear All,

                                  I would like to put your attention that the way citi bank behaving with their customers is very pathetic and unbearable. They are behaving like irrational executives. I was having a credit card from citibank 3years back. After I found I was in the defaulter's list they told me to pay back them in one time settlements. They send one agent named Raju, then he took all the settled amount in 5 installments and he told me that you are all clear. During that time I was working in a company. Due to some career problem I left the company and now pursuing my higher study. Now they are calling me back and telling me that you are still in the defaulters list and in your name one legal notice have been complained. I got surprised by their statement. I told them the details of my mode of repayment to them couple of years ago. But they are unwilling to accept that. Now I am in a different town. I do not have any receipts left over with me. Now I am studying in a institute where they called to our director and some of my friends and took my personal details. They are repeatedly calling me back and threatning me by phone. I am really scared and fade up with these things. I want to ask one thing why the hell they are calling me after 2 years of my settlement with them. I know that gobal recession is going on. They are in the verge of bankruptcy. If they are distributing credit without checking the credit rating points of the persons, they are not only accumulating their NPA but also they are ruining their brand value of their company. They are unable to understand how much they are indirectly loosing by harrasing one customer. One customer can spread the message against them through word of mouth to atleast 320 friends within no time, by this they are not only loosing 100 odd new customers, but also they are spending huge amount on recruiting those uneducated and unethical recovery agents. Instead of doing this I would like to suggest them to be strict on giving credit to new and old customer, otherwise they have to file for bankruptcy in near future.

                                    I am Manoj Arya,my citi card was stolen I there are 4 transactions that are unauthorize.I have given several calls to citi custmer service but all in vein.They are not ready to help me out.To dispute the transactions they asked me to download a form from online from [protected]@citi.com.However there is no such website.So how will I fill the form and fax it.I have alredy reported it to the police and yet I am not getting any help.Even to dispute they charge Rs.100 per transaction and 12% over the disputed transactions..This is highway robbary.
                                    I dont want to make a payment for the transactions that are not mine..
                                    What should I do??

                                    Citibank visa card — Wrong purchases shown

                                    Hi,
                                    I had a Citibank Visa Credit Card in 2005. I had hardly made any purchase.But one day I got a mail in my email account stating that I had made purchases worth Rs.16000/-. I had reverted to that mail requesting to send me the details of purchases made, but there was no response. Now the outstanding amount on the same card has outgrown to Rs.55000/- . I don't even remember the number of that card.But the bank is still sending me mails.How can I get out of this?

                                      Statement of Credit card (no. [protected]) for the month of March 2010 recieved which contained fraud transactions worth total Rs. 8193.98.

                                      -Immediately informed the Bank.
                                      -Bank promised to look into this matter.
                                      -However, the bank has recently sent a letter stating the transactions as valid & asked me to pay the Amount.

                                      These transactions for sure has not been done by me. As such I will not pay this Amount which is false.

                                      Pls help me how to go about.
