Airtel executives has taken by my set top box with a promise to provide a refund of Rs. 1200/- against it on 26th August 2012. However till date no refund has been given to me. As it was taking too long and airtel was not responding properly, I wrote to them to return my set top box and install it so that i can start using it again.

Shocking they have still not responded and are taking unduly long time in responding. Their call center is pathetic and does not provide any satisfactory service.

Would advice all users to stay away from such a pathetic and negligent service provider.

airtel dth services — Set top box not delivered & installed

Dear Sir/ madam

I had purchased an new Airtel DTH service for my home on 3rd of May 2009. I had been instructed to follow IVR instructions on their helpline and make the payment of Rs. 1800 through my credit card. I did so and made the payment of Rs. 1800. they gave me a transaction Id (transaction Id # 8595163), later they called and confirmed my address also. Today 4 days have passed I have not received any calls or communication from them. Neither has the connection been installed. I have made a number of calls to the customer care, but no favorable reply was received. they would put me on hold and then later disconnect the call. Kindly advise and help with the problem.

same is the problem i am facing, you guys make ultra tall claims, i paid for over 3000 rs for a hd connection, the guy said we will process it the same day...leave that day no one called me even to inform about the customer id next day even . there is no differences in you guys as of now after 2 years in 2011. when i called next day on 7th june (next day) all i got to know was that no update was made to my profile(customer id [protected])...u guys suck till date(today on 12/6/2011) all i get to know is we have forwarded the details...blah blah...On top of that when i ask for a refund i am told it will again take 10 days(was shamelessly told that i can take my money back)...yukk...why the hell do u guys take our money if cant install in 48 hrs or refund it in a day.?

Dear Mr. Deepak Mohod,

Your comments are same as can be expected from a typical customer service team, where only promises are made but never delivered. It has been two weeks and nobody from you have even talked to me regarding this matter, forget about the solution.

The issue raised by me is a straight forward where either you have to refund the money to me (First & Preferred choice) or install back the set top box (last resort). I fail to understand what kind of a different solution your team is working upon. Is this the standard of Airtel in today's competitive environment?

Reality is that now your call center has even stopped responding to my mails. I have today escalated this to your nodal officer. God only know, whether even this will help me or not.

Above issue has made me determined not to use any of the airtel service in future.

    Our broadband & phone connection (Account No. [protected]) have not been working since 25th September 2012 till today (13th October 2012) and maybe it wont work at all ( Until we file a case with consumer court).

    The customer service is a joke, they talk sweetly and assure you that the issue will be resolved and throw our complaint into trash and forget about it.
    When you try to follow up, they say they will "escalate" (joke again) and then forget about it.

    We have been to their "main" office on Bannerghatta Road where things are even more pathetic, we saw customers breaking their computers out of frustration. In main office, you can find ignorant staff, who just don't care. If you shout at them, then they will try to respond but only start to give reasons like: "We don't have forms, come again", "I don't have login details to access your details", "The service person is on leave", "This issue is already escalated (so, we don't care)" etc.

    We are a small software startup , who got conned by Airtel's Broadband offers and took connection. Our services have gone haywire due to constant issues with Airtel Broadband and Phone.

    NEVER GO FOR AIRTEL BROADBAND/ LANDLINE if you wish to use internet to come up in life.

    Its Better with BSNL, even if they don't talk "sweetly", they feel responsible and fix things unlike Airtel Personnel - (Who just don't care) and keep blaming among themselves that it was his or her responsibility.

    Our phone still doesn't work. Again we just get canned responses like the one above.

        Today (12/10/12) at 8.54 PM, I got a miss call from [protected], and when i searched on internet i came to know that this no. is from pakistan. As i know nobody from Pakistan and I ve heard that people get into problem when they get calls from pakistan, so i m registering a formal complaint about the above given number.

        Today on 15th April 2011 at 08:43 AM I got a missed call from a number [protected]. That was from Pakistan.I called back and the number was busy.

        I already know that its a fake call I cut it.

        airtel has reducted my bill , stating me that i have made browse of 366 /- , and they are telling me, that i have downloded files from them , thats why they have charged me , my mobile log is showing only 8.65 kb download . so is my download so costly

        Have you ever received a burst of missed calls from strange numbers in a short span of time? Such missed calls usually last for just one ring and it is strongly recommended that you DO NOT call these numbers back. This is an old scam that has resurfaced and we would like to warn our users against them.

        These are international premium-rate numbers (IPRN) and people who call them are charged hefty rates which are transferred to the attacker. The trick is known as the ‘Wangiri’ fraud. In Japanese, ‘Wangiri’ means ‘one ring and cut’ and it is believed that this scam originated in Japan.

        What is a premium number?
        Premium-rate numbers are typically known as toll numbers and their origin can be traced to several European countries. Telecom operators offer a limited number of premium numbers which are acquired by businesses. Callers are charged premium rates (higher than regular calling rates) when they dial such numbers and the revenue earned is then shared between the telecom operator and the owner of the number.

        Commercial establishments advertise these numbers for tech support, voting polls, competitions, directory inquiries, weather forecasts and more.

        How a Wangiri scam works?
        Once an attacker has acquired a premium-rate number he gives missed calls to thousands of cellphone numbers chosen randomly. Inadvertently, an unsuspecting victim calls the number back. An individual answers the call and tries to prolong the conversation under some pretext. All this while, the curious caller gets charged a large amount for the call. The rates range from Rs. 50 per minute to Rs. 200 per minute.

        The latest slew of attacks has arisen from numbers starting with a +92 code. This code belongs to numbers from Pakistan but it is impossible to be sure as attackers could have used several masking techniques. Tracing the country of origin of such calls is a very difficult process and it can only be accomplished by law enforcement agencies. It is largely suspected that these calls do not originate in India. Hence, callers are charged international rates for calling these international premium-rate numbers.

        It is an ingenious way of stealing money off victims. Prepaid users will find their credit drastically reduced whereas postpaid users would only come to know of these charges once they view their monthly bill. The best course of action would be to simply ignore such suspicious missed calls and refrain from calling them back.           Hello Sir,

          I would like to bring this to your kind notice that I am quite frustated with Airtel's service. My number[protected], which I bought inside my company then named XANSA was taken over by a comapny called Steria as so I aksed Airtel to change the name of the comapny and they asked me to submit the documents which I did and then they changed it. Now after 15 days or something my outgoing was barred and on asking why they said they have not recieved the documents, which is not the case as they would have never changed the name until they recieved the documents. Now even if I say please don't change the name of my company in my details, they say now it has changed and you will have to submit the document, which I have submitted via email attchment atleast 10 times. They have barred my number from incoming and outgoing both and I am helpless just thinking of giving up the services of Airtel but I want to teach them a lesson and don't want to let them do this with any other customer. Please help on priority.

              We are using this numbers past few years. We have registered a complaint regarding no network coverage. On that day Mr. Mohan from [protected] this number by calling 198. ( Airtel Customer care Executive ).

              When i am at line my call is disconnected by provider.

              After that conversation I am unable to call 198. I know that making calls to 198 has been barred from my number.

              1. I want to know a concrete reason why did my block my calls to 198.

              2. And, I want to know the maximum time you need to solve my problem further.

                    Hi,

                    My self Dayal Singh Khalsa, I have mobile no[protected]. I took this post paid number in Sep 2006. I changed this number from post paid to pre paid in June 2012. When I paid the first bill amount then AIRTEL took advance payment for one month rent. I had many times recalled to their Jodhpur office and call center but till date they are not giving me my advance payment. I also sent all related documents via mail with mail confirmation which clearly mentioned that you have used your mobile paid in one month advance rent. I surprised why your employee not understanding this thing.


                    This bill period is Sep 2006 to oct 2006 and my question is why you take rent in two part first from 16/09/2006 to 01/10/2006, second 02/10/2006 to 01/11/2006
                    When bill period is sep to oct then is it not advance payment?? Why they not understand this.


                    I have attached all supporting documents for your ref.

                        I had applied for prepaid to postpaid conversion a monthago . payment and documents were submitted. I was given a new sim and was told that my current prepaid sim will get diconnected within a week. once that happens i can use the new sim provided. now, when this happened, i put in the.new aim only to find out that it doesnt work. Called customer care. they didnt give a damn. went to the nearest store. they manager asked me to submit documents again. i dont think i should be victamised for no fault of mine.

                        Have no sim for the past 3weeks. this is frustrating. why must i pay for their faults.

                            Today I went to one airtel easy recharge shop and I asked the guy to recharge with Rs. 36 but he demanded Rs. 38 for that. This is not fair. Then I came to know that in chennai most of the airtel easy recharge shop guys are demanding extra two or three rupees than the actual tariff mentioned by Airtel. Airtel must take some serious action against this.

                              Please stop my SUPER4_1 service. I folow the every steps for that, but resulation yet ([protected])

                              I talked to Cutstomer care service every time they told me that there is system updgradtion it going on call us after 4 hours and this happening to me from last one month.
                              I tried call on ur toll free number 121161 and there is also tune is running " System upgradtion is going on try after some time".
                              Why there is no system upgradtion for takeing a service but always happen for stoping a service?

                              Plese solve my problem.

                                  I had applied for an Airtel broadband connection transfer from Bangalore to Hyderbad on April 1, 2012.
                                  They told they will transfer it asap. But Even after two, three weeks, nobody called me regarding this. They did not
                                  inform anything through mail also.

                                  Now they are claiming they disconnected the connection in July and they are asking me to pay 4533.
                                  Last week(3rd October 2012) i called customer care and asked about my request. Till then they had the
                                  record of my request, in their database. They told due to non availability of connectivity, they could
                                  transfer to my new address in Hyderabad.

                                  But on 10 Oct 2012, they sent me a mail, asking to pay the amount before 13 Oct 2012, failing to which they
                                  will take legal action. On 11th October i called customer care again to raise the complaint and get the reference
                                  number of my request, now they are claiming, i have never raised a request.

                                  It looks like, Airtel is cheating it's customers. This behaviour on Airtel part is absolutely despicable and
                                  I would like adequate compensation for the ordeal that they put me through since the past 5 months.

                                  Please look into this and inform me what next steps i need to take.

                                    And i got a call from your executive that your sim has been rejected now that sim could not be activated, and he told me to better buy another sim. If this is the quality of service that you people provide why should i buy airtel there are many more operators.
                                    I request other peoples also please don't use airtel as mobile operators; hopeless service provider.

                                        My mobile number is [protected] and i loaded a cash balance of RS.100 in my airtel money account but i did not get the amount credited in my account and i am not able to use the service.After contacting AIRTEL relationship center and CUSTOMER CARE, they are giving me misleading and irrelevant information about the matter and are refusing to look after the matter and take any action.It has been almost 15 days i did the recharge.
